Title: The Final Wish

Summary: With the battle against Naraku over one questions remains, who gets the final wish and what do they wish for?... ok, maybe two questions remain.

Pairing: Inuyasha X Kagome

Words: 1216

"For your bravery, courage, loyalty and for bring peace to the world you are granted with a single wish" the spirit of Midoriko said

Kagome, Inuyasha, Miroku, Sango, Sesshomaru, and Kohaku all looked at each other unsure what to do.

"I don't need such thing as a wish; I will accomplish things on my own" Sesshomaru said turning away "come Rin"

"Ok" the small girl chirped following after him

"I don't deserve a wish" Kohaku sighed "only I can make up for what I have done"

Sango hold her younger brothers hand and smiled at him "my wish has already been granted"

"As has mine" Miroku chimed in holding her other hand

"Inuyasha why don't you take it?" Kagome offered

"What about you?"

"You deserve it the most"

Everyone else nodded in agreement so Inuyasha took the wish.

"There is one thing I want..." he started to say

Everyone waited for him to finish, everyone but Kagome she already had a pretty good idea what he was going to wish for, the one thing he has wanted since the day they met.

"That's if it's ok with Kagome?"

"I just want you to be happy" she smiled

"But it's your life to..."

"Inuyasha it's ok, as long as you're happy I will be to"

"Ok then... I wish Kagome was a half dog demon!"

"A what!" Miroku, Sango and Kohaku shouted

"Very well" Midoriko said "it is done"

Kagome stood frozen, she couldn't move, breath, talk, or even blink. All Kagome could do was stare straight ahead not knowing how to process this, there was a blinding light and once it was gone Kagome lay on the floor passed out.

"Is she... I mean did it work?" Sango asked

"She looks the same" Miroku pointed out

"Kagome?" Inuyasha asked walking up to her

Kagome groaned and everyone let out a sigh of relief. Slowly she started to sit up and rub her head, as she did this her hair settled down to how it was meant to be and two black ears could be seen on the top of her head. Everyone gasped and stood back a little leaving Kagome on the ground extremely confused.

"What happened?" she asked trying to stand "I feel... different, and my head, it's like I can hear all your hearts beating" she laughed

Once she was standing she looked around at the others who were all in shock.

"Is everything ok?" she asked holding out her hand

That's when she noticed her nails were now claws, panicked she remember what just happened, Inuyasha had wished for her to be a half demon like him. She felt the top of her head and sure enough there were ears there like Inuyasha's, she quickly sat on the ground feeling extremely dizzy.

"Kagome?" Inuyasha approached her slowly "are you ok?"

"Sit" she said with no emotion

Inuyasha slammed into the ground and when he tried to get back up Kagome sat him again until he was half passed out. Once it looked like he wouldn't be moving anytime soon she stood up and started to run away only shocking herself at her new found speed. Kagome ran away from the well and to a field or at least where the field would have been but she stopped to suddenly causing her to topple over.

"Ouch" she muttered rubbing her face

Her ears started to prick up and twitch, her nose started twitching as well as a new smell reached her one that she never noticed before. She turned around towards the smell and started to follow it until she came to a part of the land that still had life, it didn't take her long to figure out the thing she could smell was just the trees.

Slowly getting the hang of her new body she started to test things out like sniffing new smells and hearing all the small insects until she got the idea to try jumping like Inuyasha did. After a while she even got the hang of that and was able to jump up to the top of a tree within seconds and soon across the tree tops. She was having so much fun that she had forgotten all about the friends she left behind and Inuyasha until she found herself lost in some strange place that her new super powered senses told her was far from everyone else.

"Oh no... I have to find my way back"

She tried to sniff out the path but she wasn't very good at that and she had also been jumping above the trees so there wasn't much of a scent left to follow.

"Inuyasha will find me... I couldn't have gone too far right?" she asked herself

She sat down at the bottom of a tree and hugged her knees.

"Why would he turn me into a half demon anyway? What will mum think? Sota will probably think its cool... I hope Inuyasha gets here soon"

After a while she fell asleep curled up into a ball at the base of the tree, during her semi peaceful sleep she heard a noise in the distance waking her right up. The first thing she noticed was that she was still alone the second things was that it was night time and the third was her eyesight, even though it was pitch black she could still see a lot of the things around her. She sniffed the air trying to figure out what the noise was but it wasn't a scent she knew, not that she really knew any scents yet anyway.

Her new instincts took over and stood in a defensive stance ready to fight whatever it was, feeling terrified Kagome tossed up the idea to run but before she had a chance to Inuyasha came flying out at her.

"Inuyasha!" Kagome shouted running into his arms "you found me"

"What do you think you're doing running of like that!" he shouted

"I'm sorry" Kagome sulked

"Yeah well... I'm sorry to... I shouldn't have wished for this"

Kagome could hear the sadness in his voice more than normal and the way his heart was beating.

"Why did you wish for this anyway?" she asked pulling away from him

"So I don't have to carry you everywhere" he huffed "and well so we can be together now"

"But we could of before" she said noticing his heart racing

"Yeah but you would have died and then..."

"Now we can be together forever" she smiled

"So you're not angry?"

"I'm not angry; I was just shocked that's all"

"Come back with me?"

"Sure only if you carry me though"

"What!"

"Just because I'm a half demon now doesn't mean you can get out of carrying me" she winked

"No way" he smiled running off

"Come back here!" Kagome shouted running after him

Now that she knew his scent it made it easy to find him and using her own power she managed to tackle him down.

"No fair using the stupid beads" he grumbled pulling himself out of the ground

"Sure it's fair, now let's get going" she said hoping onto his back

Once Inuyasha pulled himself up he started on the way back with Kagome holding on resting her head on his shoulder.
