A.N.: Heyo! Another chapter! Sorry for the late update. I was suffering writer's block for a while. Even now it is difficult for me to write.

I'm taking down the poll, because no one voted on it:'(

REPLIES TO REVIEWS

ChocoChomper: Thank you! And yes, Aether is Hemera's sibling. Erebus, in this fic, is just darkness, so he lives in the darkest part of Tartarus, which is naturally Tartarus's armpit. That being said, Erebus and Nyx have a kind of long distance relationship, but that doesn't mean that they do not love each other. The reason that Erebus and Aether are not major characters is that they do not have a major part in this story. In future ones they might.

No, that chapter was not a filler, although it was close to one. Also, I know you didn't ask, but I'm making this story the first of a series. In this way, each arc is a new story altogether, but the stories will be heavily dependent on each other. That being said, this chapter is the last one of this arc

CHAPTER 14

When he entered the room, he saw that his parents were still asleep. He decided to go to sleep as well.

It seemed like two minutes passed, but someone was shaking him awake. He opened his eyes blearily to see green eyes staring at him from a good distance away. He got up, yawning, and saw that Tartarus was just leaving. Gaea moved away and followed him, saying, "Tantaros, dear, come out please."

He came out and saw that Gaea was busy harnessing a chariot to two horses, with midnight black skin and red eyes. The horses neighed and nuzzled him. While he was busy playing with the horses, who seemed to be more intelligent than others, Tartarus spoke to Gaea.

Finally the hoses were harnessed, and he decided to ride them. Gaea protested, but Tantaros insisted and the horses agreed with him, nuzzling Gaea and giving her the big eyes. Finally, she gave in. before they departed, Gaea explained to him that the horses were lent to them by Nyx to provide a plot device…er…to help in transportation.

They started on their journey. When he asked her where they were going, she answered that he will have to see.

When they reached their destination, Tantaros was disappointed to see that it was just a freestanding door. However, he could not say that for tat which lay beyond the door.

The place was bright. It had a sun. He realized that he was, once again, back in the mortal world.

He had never seen this much foliage before, and it wasn't even big. That title belonged to a huge tree with strangely golden apples, and a many headed dragon around it.

He recognized this place from his readings

"The Garden of the Hesperides?"

Gaea smiled sheepishly. "It is the only symbol of power I have here, son. I had no choice."

"The only symbol of power, you say?"

Gaea looked at him suspiciously.

Then Tantaros tried he had never tried before. He concentrated his power and searched for the northernmost, easternmost, southernmost and westernmost part of the land. Being a son of Gaea, it was easy. Then, he raised four indestructible groves, one in each direction, guarded by stone and earth monsters and golems, and consecrated them in the name of his mother. When he opened his eyes, his vision of the world appeared sharper, and he knew this was a consequence of his raising symbols of power.

He then doubled over, dizzy.

When he regained focus, he saw that his mother was looking at him with shock, respect and love. She immediately crashed into him, hugging him, thanking him repeatedly for doing this. He was finally happy.

Tartarus looked upon this scene with fondness, and reluctantly departed, saying that if he remained away from Tartarus, he would vanish.

Gaea finally gave him space to breathe, and her eyes sparkled with newfound energy. She smiled and immediately teleported them to the entrance of the westernmost grove, which was nearest. Only now did Tantaros get to admire his handiwork.

Impossibly tall trees rose up into the sky, interspersed with rock pillars and small woodland critters. The entrance was a huge arch of stone, with five or six stone golems and dragons and a dozen earth golems and monsters with variable accessories. At the sight of them, the critters ran towards them, and played at their feet. The golems and monsters bowed and made an orderly group with rows and columns. They showed polite curiosity as to who the woman was, but remained silent.

"Guardians of the Western Grove of Gaea, I present to you, my mother, your patron, Gaea."

All of them kneeled in front of them, muttering prayers. A particularly large golem, who appeared to lead all of the Guardians, shouted, "All hail Gaea, the Earth Mother. All hail Mystico, Lord of the Groves."

Tantaros looked at Gaea. "Mystico?"

"I named you that when you were born. I'm thinking of changing it."

Tantaros pondered for a moment. "Kekkrymenos. I think that means hidden, right."

"Yes, though Kekkrymenos is long. How about we call you Kek for short?"

Tantaros turned to the Guardians. "Do you agree, Guardians?"

They looked taken aback that he cared to ask them. Then one by one the banged their swords against their shields, chanting, "Kek! Kek! Kek!"

"Looks like they approve." Gaea said. The she turned to the Guardians. "Spread the word only among the other Guardians, to call my son, their lord, Kekkrymenos, or Kek for short."

The lead one stared at the ground at the orders. Then he said, looking up, "It is done, My Lady."

"Good. Could you lead us to a clearing? We need to stay somewhere. We will rotate among the Groves."

They nodded, and dispersed. The lead golem led them into the grove, which would make even the wildest forests a feeling of inadequacy. When they entered the clearing, the golem closed his eyes, and a cave rose out of the ground. It had a stream running nearby, and many fruit bearing trees.

"Thank you," the newly christened Kek said to the golem."

It bowed, saying, "It was a pleasure, My Lord Kek." Then it departed.

"Now what?" Kek wondered.

Gaea turned. There was a gleam in her eyes. "Now," she said, "we train."
