Chapter 13

A/N: Sorry for the long wait. I'm had a little trouble writing the chapter, since I'm not really good at describing fighting scenes, but I hope you enjoy the chapter. Don't forget to review at the end.

Medeia and Alex didn't have any more time to catch up with each other. The two remaining Scorpion members fired a few bullets at them, which they were able to dodge easily by hiding behind the headstone. Both of them were formulating a plan in their heads. Surprisingly, both of them had a similar plan, but were hesitant since they had no idea of the others abilities. Well, Medeia did have an idea as to what Alex knew and what he was able to do. Alex on the other hand was still puzzled as to how Medeia escaped from the other Scorpion members. He wanted to ask her as to what happened, but decided that could wait until they were not in a life threatening situation.

" Ok. We need a plan to take down this two," Medeia was to the first one to break the silence. Alex just spared her a look and continued to think. His plan was a simple one. If both of their parts succeeded then they will be able to end this fast and wait until MI6 arrived. Or if they ever arrive. Alex thought bitterly.

" I'll take one while you take the other, " Medeia told Alex. It wasn't meant as a question, but Alex answered anyway. It was the same idea Alex was thinking of. He just hoped that Medeia can look after herself, but he doubted she will be injured greatly since she was able to take down the other men somehow.

"Agreed." Before they seperated, Medeia grabbed Alex's wrist. She handed him her gun. Alex was even more surprised by this action. She had a gun? How in the world did she have a gun? I thought she was just a civilian, but somehow she was able to escape from SCORPIA's men. Then Alex saw the golden scorpion etched on the handle of the gun. A new possibility came into his mind. Maybe she was able to retrieve a gun from one of the men. That would make since, but then how skilled is she to bale to even be in arms reach of one of them and still be able to come out unharmed. Alex looked at Medeia, assessing her. He noticed the patch of red slowly growing around Medeia's shoulder. Not completely unharmed then.

" I was able to get one of their guns from the previous guys. It has at least two bullets left, since I used three of them already. Make them count," Medeia warned Alex. At least that confirmed he's idea. She could be lying. A voice whispered in Alex's head. Alex pushed the thought out of his head. For now, Medeia was an ally. Even if he knew next to nothing from the new girl, he could trust her at this moment because she was in danger as well. She needed someone to help her get out of this situation and Alex was the only one there. It was an unspoken agreement between the two. It was a beneficial pack to them. Both of them were in danger and needed help. Until they did not need the other's help, they will cooperate together until this was over.

" Wouldn't it help you better? " Alex questioned. He had seen how the bullets flew accurately at the men and saw one being incapacitated. He didn't know if the man that had fallen was dead or just had major injury that did let him continue. Most likely the man only had an injury and was not dead. Her shot could not have been that fatal enough to kill a man with one shot. Alex had learned how to shoot while his time in SCORPIA. He learned many, new skills there, but he knew that Medeia was better than him in firing a gun.

" Nah. Besides, I don't need a gun to take him down and hopefully neither does you," responded Medeia with a slight smile. " We better start our plan, before they gather their wits and start firing at us again. It's better to catch them off guard than them expecting us." Before Alex could respond, Medeia was already out of the protection of the headstone and in open fire range of the two men. That thought pushed Alex into action. He fired two bullets at the men before they shot at Medeia. The bullets were fired at the men's wrist. Both of them dropped their guns to the ground. Well, that was a quick use of the two bullets. At least, they don't have anything to shoot at us with anymore. Makes it easier for us to win against them.

Medeia took the opportunity and launched herself at one of the men. She had chosen the bulkier of the men because she knew she was probably faster than him. Alex was left with the last SCORPIA member. The man wasn't as bulky as Medeia's opponent, but he was a lot bigger than Alex. Alex tried to kick the man in the gut, but his attack was dodged easily. The man tried to punch Alex which he dodged as well. They were only a few feet away from each other. The man charged first at Alex. Alex swiftly moved to the side and kicked the man on his side. The SCORPIA member moved a few inches, but did not seem to be in any pain. He turned and punched Alex in the face which made Alex land on the ground.

Medeia was doing better than Alex at handling her opponent. SCORPIA'S men were trained, but the men that were sent to capture Alex were only bulk. They were trained to handle troubling people that SCORPIA was having trouble with. This meant that they were usually up against civilians with no training or skills in fighting what so ever. Medeia and Alex were different. They were trained and had plenty of skills to use while in fighting.

Her opponent did not have a style of fighting. He just kept charging at her with the intention to land a hit on her. Medeia was able to dodge all of his attacks swiftly. The man may not have been trained to fight in a specific type of manner, but if one of his hit landed on Medeia then she would be unable to continue fighting. She was already injured and could not afford to another serious injury. She had seen that Alex had fallen to the ground, but was could not do anything about because of her own fight needing all of her attention. She had to finish this fight quick. She had wanted to tire her opponent before she tried anything and her plan was working. The man's breaths were coming in pants now.

When the man charged, Medeia did not dodge this time. She merely grabbed the man's arm and redirected it away. The man was surprised and this allowed her land a powerful kick the man's abdomen. The wind was successfully knocked out him. Medeia approached him and with her palm open punched the man in the nose. Blood gushed forward, but Medeia moved away quickly to avoid the gush of blood. She only had blood on the palm of her hand where she had punched the man. She glanced at her palm and just swiped the blood on her jeans. It was time to help Alex.

Alex was able to stand after the man's hit. The man had laughed at him, but he did not suspect the upcoming roundhouse kick to his head. The man staggered, but did not fall. Blood was dripping slowly from his head. He growled at Alex. Alex was positioned in his karate stance and was ready to fight the man once more, when a bullet whizzed pass the man's head.

After Medeia defeated her opponent, she had grabbed the two guns that still lay on the ground after Alex had shot the men. The guns only had a few bullets in them left. The one she had just fired only had one bullet left, while the other had two. She didn't need the other gun. She was confident that the next bullet would not miss the target. Her aim was ready. She just had to click the trigger and it would all end.

Alex saw Medeia and thanked her mentally for the distraction. The man was too preoccupied with Medeia to notice Alex. The man dropped to the ground quickly. There was a moment of silence in the graveyard with only the wind rustling the trees.

" Thanks for the distraction, " Alex told Medeia when he turned towards her after kicking the man in the head, knocking him unconscious.

" Yeah. No problem," Medeia responded with a small smile. She had not meant the bullet to be a distraction, but if Alex had thought it to be that way then it was fine by her. It would be easier than explaining to him why she had killed the man. Medeia still held both the guns in her hands and dropped them to ground. Alex noticed them and raised a questioning look at her.

" They're out of bullets," was all that she said. Alex seemed to accept that fact and Medeia was relieved. "We better move out of here before others decide to come."

Alex nodded and started heading toward her. " It's easier if we just walk through the trees. My house is just one block away from there," Alex stated. Medeia nodded her head and started to follow Alex though the trees.

It was quiet between them. Their lives had just been in danger, but they had survived and did not have any major injuries. They did not have anything to ask or say to each other. The silence lasted until they were halfway to Alex's house.

" Who trained you? " asked Alex first. Alex was shocked that he was the first one to break the silence and had asked Medeia a personal question. He was curious as to how Medeia learned to fight. He could have phrased the question differently, but he was not thinking when he had asked. His mouth had just worked on its own without consulting his brain about it. A few second passed without Medeia responding to Alex's question, but she did answer him.

" I wouldn't say it as training, " Alex winced at that. He should have phrased the answer better. " but the one who taught how to fight was my father. He was very militaristic and thought that it was better for me to defend myself than being weak and defenseless. Who taught you then? " she questioned.

" My uncle and a few other." Alex did not explain more on whom the others were that taught how to fight. How to survive were. His uncle was the first one to introduce him to martial arts and continue taking the classes until his death. There was also MI6 who have never offered him official training, but the week with the K Unit at the SAS camp taught him plenty of skills. The missions he was sent to also taught a couple of lessons. His training at SCORPIA was where he learned and mastered most of the skills he knew know. He still did not know if it was worth the price to learn them.

There was silence again. They were on the same street as Alex's home. Parked in front of his house there was a black car with two tall men wearing suits in front of it. Damn. The time I send the alarm they send the agents to my house, but they couldn't have just sent them to where the location of the alarm was sent. Or does the watch not have a tracking chip on it. Alex thought sarcastically because he knew full well that the watch did have a tracking chip in it. Alex turned to Medeia to explain to her what was happening.

" Well, since I guess you have someone visiting you at the moment, I'm going to head over to my own house," Medeia stated while looking at Alex in the eyes. Alex agreed to this. Even if Medeia had an idea as what his secret life was or if she just thought that he was a rich person's son, he did not want to explain to her the truth. It would be better if she just headed home and hopefully overnight thought that the day was just someone she thought up or was daydreaming about. Which he doubted would happen.

" Ok. I'll see tomorrow at school." Alex didn't know if MI6 would aloow him to go to school the next day, but he hoped they would, so he could talk to Medeia about what happened. He wasn't worried about her telling anyone else. She wouldn't. If she did, who would believe her? There would be more rumors about him in school, but no one would take it seriously.

Medeia smiled at him and started to walk back. Alex turned around and started heading towards his house. He hoped that the agents did not see her, but when he met their eyes behind their black sunglasses, he knew they saw her. When he reached them, they opened the car's door for him and he to sit in the back seat.

Another encounter with the head of MI6 and his assistant. What a pleasant day this has been. First, I had to endure the hell that is school then afterwards I get to be ganged on by a few of SCORPIA's men with a civilian. I'm perfectly sure I have some nasty bruises from them and will be sore tomorrow. Now, I have to have a meeting with MI6 when they did not help me at all when I was in danger. They will probably talk down to me and if I'm lucky I might even receive a new mission from them. It's a good thing to be Alex Rider or my life might be boring for once by being normal.

A/N: So, did you like the chapter? Review if you liked it, what was wrong with it, or have any advice to give. Sorry, for the fighting seen, since I'm not very good at writing them.
