One Hour Later….

DEBORAH'S P.O.V

I flew off the plane into the city lights, the rush of adrenaline hitting me on impact. I didn't bother to get a parachute, and I braced myself as I dived into the water. The water was freezing, and I sank about eight feet in before I swam to the surface, swimming up to the shore and made sure that no one saw me.

I stared up at the sky and grimaced when the storm clouds became darker, and I remembered that Red Hood must have jumped out of the plane as well. I turned around and he landed a few feet in front of me...with a parachute.

"We had parachutes and you didn't tell me?!"

He shrugged and I rolled my eyes, muttering under my breath as Reese teleported next to us.

"Parked the plane a few miles from here. Do you know where we're heading?"

I frowned when I saw lightning strike the center of the city, and Jason grunted.

"Deathstroke didn't exactly tell us the address to where we're going. But I'm guessing it has to do with the drones setting off in the center of the city."

Reese's bo-staff glowed as he tilted his head.

"Yeah, I think I can take us there. Shouldn't be too hard."

He grabbed my arm and Jason's shoulder and we were transported to the middle of the city, where people were coming in and out of nightclubs and bars, not bothering to look up at the sky and run for their lives.

I drew up a hologram with different possible locations of where Rose was, thanks to Ben, and I growled when I saw a 78% chance that she was near the drone.

"We need to get to the drone. It's up ahead in the park."

I ran down the street, not bothering to see if the guys were following, and I leaped onto the top of the trolley before jumping into Reese's arms. He created a chariot and horses of black smoke and I smirked as people began to scream as the three of us flew north. I would have been scared of Reese's powers as well.

"So we're practically going into the eye of the hurricane?"

I looked at the drone and nodded.

"Pretty much."

We landed right on top of the drone, and I tore off the wings as Jason and Reese began to give heavy blows to the machine.

"There's no one to tell us where she is!"

Reese snapped his bo-staff out in front of him and frowned.

"There's people coming. I can sense it."

Jason pointed to the branch above my head and shot at it, only revealing a broken camera lense.

"Someone's been watching over the drone."

My heart began to accelerate at the same moment, and I was growing canines and claws before I even realized it.

"Oh, no."

I only kept on my domino mask as I breathed in heavily, my lungs taking more air than I needed. I knew then that they were here.

"Maharishi, he's coming with the Wild Things."

I growled as I glared at Reese and Jason. I already wasn't thinking clearly.

"I'm going to tear them to pieces."

A howl broke out in the park, and I frowned as I saw silhouettes creeping towards us.

"That's my thing."

I didn't blink twice before I was tackled to the ground by Lioness, and I clawed her stomach, not caring that I might have shredded her guts. I jumped up and ducked a kick that Bengal sent towards me, and I rolled under him to whip my chain around his neck and fling him into Grizzly. The bear-man was unfazed and charged towards me before Lioness shrieked, and I was thrown roughly against the fountain, leaving a huge dent in the metal. I was grabbed by my leg before I had time to recover, and I felt my shoulder snap as Grizzly threw me into the water of the fountain.

Someone must have distracted Grizzly, because I was soon left alone as I struggled to sit up. I popped my shoulder back into place and banged my head against the fountain in frustration. Reese had Lioness in the air as she struggled, and Jason was dodging Grizzly's blows. Bengal and Chimpanzee were walking towards me, their faces more cynical than usual.

"Well, well, well. Looks like little puppy is all alone."

Bengal growled as Chimpanzee gave a bone-chilling cackle similar to the Joker's, and I lashed out, knowing that the only reason why Maharishi was watching me from afar was because he wanted to see how long it would take for me to give up.

I grabbed my katanas and spun as I leaped into the air, the neon blue energy radiating off the blades.

"LEAVE ME ALONE!"

"Shadow, wait!"

I clawed at whoever was in front of me, and even though I heard Reese calling out to me, I thrusted my blade into Chimpanzee's shoulder while blocking a blow from Bengal's fist with my other blade.

Jason shot Bengal in the leg as Reese electrocuted Grizzly until he fell into unconsciousness, and I drew my blade out of Chimpanzee's shoulder. He fell to the floor, and I backhanded him into unconsciousness, my feral side giving more strength than needed.

"I thought you were going to kill him."

I ignored Reese's comment and glared up at the trees, trying to detect where Maharishi was.

"I know you're here, Wells! Don't make me come and get you!"

There was a period of silence until faint claps could be heard a couple of meters away from us.

"Beautiful footing and stances, you guys. I'm really impressed at how far you've all come."

My blood ran cold as Chase appeared from the shadows, and I ran to him and slammed him to the floor before anyone said anything.

"What are you doing here, you b******!"

He coughed up blood before smiling.

"I believe I should be the one asking that, darling. Are you here to do work for your daddy?"

I glared at his pendant, and before I knew it, I was tearing it from his neck as I screamed in agony. Pain seared my bones as I held onto the pendant, and green flames began to surround me as I struggled to hold on. I don't know how long I was there, but it felt like an eternity. My throat was raw from screaming, but I was too stubborn to let the pendant go. I had too much harm inflicted upon me because of the stupid charm, and I had enough.

"LET GO!"

My eyes were shut from the heat and pain, but something told me to open them. The first thing I saw were glowing emblems in the air, and Chase was standing in the middle of a circle with a knife in his hands. He was running towards me and I yelled before I finally let go of the pendant, and I fell into Reese's arms.

"Don't you ever do something so stupid ever again! Only I can do that!"

I lifted my hand and smiled tiredly. The pendant was there.

"Do you want to do the bloody interrogation, or shall I?"

Reese glared at Chase, who had Jason's dagger to his throat, and cracked his head.

"Let me get back at him for you, Debs. It'd be my pleasure."

I leaned against the tree nearest to me as I closed my eyes. I wouldn't want to see this, no matter how much I hated Chase.

After a couple of minutes, Reese got up and Jason was about to shoot Chase in the head before I jumped in and shook my head.

"Don't do it, Jason."

"And let him live after what he did to you?! No, thanks."

"Jason, listen to me-"

"I don't want you to pity him, Deborah! You and I both know that he deserves to die."

I threw the pendant on Chase's unconscious body and shook my head.

"I would be pitying him if I let him die, to get the easy way out of this. No, I want him to suffer every single day, to wish that I granted him the way out. He'll have to battle his demons now."

Reese stared at me and pointed to the pendant.

"Why are you giving it back?"

"I battled my demons and overcame. I don't have to worry about losing control, when I was over control of the pendant. I have nothing to fear now."

I stared at the unconscious bodies now tied together, and I looked at Reese.

"Do they have Rose?"

He nodded and just as I slipped my visor on just before a massive helicopter came soaring in above us, and my breath hitched as Jason cursed.

"You guys, we can't take all of them on."

"I can't teleport us to the plane. I already used too much of my energy with the interrogation and the fight."

I immediately commed Ben before the guys said anything else, and I began to panic.

"Ben, I need you to get anyone on-line. We need defense, immediately."

"Deborah, everyone is busy at the moment. I can try to find some help but it won't be for at least an hour."

My stomach sank as tears pricked my eyes, knowing that I would die tonight. I may have a healing factor, but if I was torn to pieces by the entire clan, there would be no way that I would survive. I looked at Jason and Reese, and my knees began to shake. They were here with me, and I was never more grateful for them until then.

"Deborah, are you there?"

I took a deep breath and spoke as calmly as possible as I made eye contact with Jason and Reese, who seemed to have gotten the message as well.

"Tell everyone that I love them, Ben. Tell them that we didn't go down without a fight."

I turned off my com before he said anything else, and I frowned as the helicopter landed meters away.

"I love you guys, and I want you to fight as hard as you can tonight. Fight for your lives, I don't care at how many lives we need to take as long as we tried our best to stay alive."

Their faces were as hard as stone, and I knew that we were all going to lay our heroic act aside for now. We were assassins, and we'd do whatever it took to survive.

We stood side by side, watching several Wild Things jump out of the helicopter, around twelve in total. Maharishi was among them, and Bison carried a limp body with a sack over its head.

The figures behind me jumped up and Grizzly, Lioness, Chimpanzee, and Bengal were awake and livid. Chase was still unconscious.

"We brought you a little present before you have to say goodbye."

Bison threw the body in front of us, and my stomach dropped. I was sure that it was Rose.

Maharishi tilted his head and gazed upon Chase and sighed.

"Seems like he needed to learn a lesson or two. As do you, Renegades. You've interfered with our business, and I have no other choice but to kill you all."

Reese stepped forward and growled.

"Wells, what do you-"

"Wells is gone. Only the Maharishi remains. Kill the girl afterwards, as well. Deathstroke didn't align with the Light and trusted these dimwits, so there is no need to keep her around."

Maharishi stepped back and I unsheathed my claws.

"Let's get this over with."

I stepped in front of Rose's unconscious body and clawed Bison's throat before Chimpanzee kicked me in the head and ran away. I took a deep breath and dashed towards him, flexing and dodging every kick and grab towards me. I was the Heir to the Demon, and I would not be taken down so easily.

I gained momentum and held my blades outwards, and I jumped onto Grizzly's back and stabbed him in the neck before slashing Chimpanzee's face with my claws. I was tossed off like a ragdoll, and I was being kicked by several adversaries as I looked at Rose's body. She was still alive. I leapt up and grabbed Condor's head, snapping it before I was hit in the back very hard. I growled and tried not to focus on the broken disks and dodged Bengal's claw, though I felt my side bleeding from Lioness's attack just before.

I was cornered by Chimpanzee, Bengal, Lioness, and Bison and I threw my forearms up to block the offensive attacks. There were a total of eleven of them fighting us, and four of them were trying to kill me. I hoped then that Reese and Jason were alright. That they were alive.

I screamed and slipped my visor away, my fangs growing in inches as I grabbed Bengal's wrist and drove his arm over and back, shoving him into the others as I tried to break away.

A plane came soaring in at a speed that was far too fast, and dark figures came breaking out.

I didn't have time to watch as Bison smashed his elbow into the side of my skull, the soft spot high on the temple. I whipped around and kicked him in the jaw before ducking from Lioness's kick. Even though I had more combat experience, they were all extremely strong and agile. I don't know how the serum gave us all the same powers, but that was for me to discover later...If I was alive then.

I somersaulted back from my opponents and threw a tear gas bomb before running towards Rose and grabbed her body before I climbed to the nearest tree and placed her there.

I jumped down and happened to land on Boa's back and thrusted my blade down his spine, the energy of the weapon increasing and becoming more harmful. Reese grinned at me and spun Grizzly up as Jason gouged Bengal's eye out. They were holding up for now.

I was tossed off of Boa's body and met Komodo's blazing red eyes as he grinned.

"Time to see what you're made of, Wolfie."

A ball of fire was thrown at me, and I dodged just in time before Badger kneed me in the stomach, which hurt even more than when I popped my shoulder. I growled before I dodged another ball of fire, and got to my feet with a bloody nose, only to find Komodo's malicious smile. I felt two other people behind me, and I saw Jason on the floor with three looming figures above him from the corner of my eye.

Just when all hope was lost, four people came running through the night, but I focused on taking down my opponents. I grabbed the back of Komodo's neck and slammed him against the tree trunk, slitting his throat before I was shot in the chest by one of Tarantula's poison darts. I didn't have time to take it out as Badger charged at me, and I was tackled down by his immense force. He stabbed a dagger into my lung before he was decapitated before my very eyes. I coughed up blood and groaned before I looked up and saw-my mother?

She wasn't hesitant to pull the dagger and dart from my chest, and I screamed in both shock and pain.

"Shut up and fight, Aria!"

She ducked Tarantula's attack and left me on the floor as she ran to who-knows-where. So I guess we weren't hopeless.

I got to my feet as I hissed, my wounds healing slower than I expected.

I looked at Jason and yelled, though my throat was dry.

"I'll trade you weapons!"

He flipped over Chimpanzee and ran towards me as I tossed him my katanas. He caught them and chucked his handgun over to me.

"Do you even know how to use it?!"

"No, but there's always a first!"

I heard him scoff and I shot Grizzly in the back of his head, though I was aiming for Lioness. Go figure.

One-eyed Bengal rushed towards me, and I aimed at him until Deathstroke kneed him in the groin and brought his katana down. This day was just full of surprises.

Condor and Chimpanzee were running in my direction, Condor's head flinging a little limply since I snapped it before. I managed to shoot Chimpanzee in the leg before I grabbed my chain and flung it around Condor's head. I pulled down and was surprised to see his head come completely off with the chain wrapped tightly around his head. I guess he wouldn't be coming back from that.

I glanced down and sighed in relief when my wounds had closed, and I flung Condor's head into Chimpanzee, almost smirking at his screech.

Lady Shiva appeared from the shadows, throwing shirukens at Chimpanzee and nodded in greeting before I ducked from Komodo's attack.

The fire was spreading on the tree, and I cursed before I lifted myself up to hold onto Rose's body. They must have drugged her hard if she was sleeping through all of this. I held onto her and jumped off, only to have my back impaled by a random dagger. My eyes began to close involuntarily as I was able to see different fleeting figures. I breathed heavily as Reese came running towards me.

"Deborah, what's wrong?"

The dagger was soon unsheathed from my back, and I sighed.

"The dagger was dipped in poison. But, knowing her, she'll recover in a few minutes."

Reese took Rose from my arms, and I leaned forward.

"I feel like throwing up."

I heard a snort before Jason spoke up.

"I saw you flinging Condor's head around, so I wouldn't judge you."

I gave a shaky laugh before turning to see my mother, Shiva, Slade, and Cheshire standing tall, though they looked worn from the fight.

I limped towards them, just realizing at the moment that someone must have bitten my calf while I was fighting, and I nodded.

"We would have died today if you hadn't showed up."

I stared at Slade, then at my mother.

"Thank you. I am in your debt."

Slade shrugged and cracked his neck.

"Well, as long as you don't say where I went after this, we're fine."

My mother glared at him and grit her teeth.

"She nearly lost her life at your expense, so do not think she owes you any favors."

"Don't tell me what's right and what's wrong, Nyssa."

He slipped on his mask and walked towards his plane as I sighed.

"Where are you going, Slade?"

"Out. And you could try to stop me, but we both know that you're not."

I honestly didn't feel like arguing about this, and I was far too exhausted to go running after him. Besides, he was on the neutral line for now.

"Aren't you going to take Rose?!"

He tensed before looking at me in the eye.

"We both know who is the better guardian for her. Take care of her, Deborah. I'll be checking in from time to time."

I looked at the unconscious body in Reese's arms and sighed again. My family was getting too complicated.

Speaking of family, I crossed my arms and stared at my mother, who glared at Slade with her azure eyes.

"What an irresponsible p****."

"...You know what? I'm too tired to argue with you right now. How did you guys get here anyways?"

Mother gave me a hard look, and I sighed.

"How did you all arrive here?"

Shiva crossed her arms and focused her dark eyes on me.

"We were notified by your nerd friend, and I broke Slade out of his cell to use his plane. Your mother happened to be here in Budapest, and Cheshire offered to come along."

I raised an eyebrow at my mother, who raised an eyebrow in return.

"You happened to be here as well?"

"I thought you'd know by now that I am capable of surprises, Aria."

Reese stepped forward and looked at me.

"Looks like Ben got backup plans we didn't even know about."

I nodded and smiled at Cheshire, who removed her mask and gave me a smirk.

"I would have never expected to see you here, Jade."

She shrugged and tilted her head.

"You know me. I missed the action."

Jason crossed his arms and turned to me.

"You know her?"

"I sort of grew up with her."

Reese tossed Jason the still unconscious Rose and hovered over us.

"I'll go get the plane. Don't do anything stupid."

"I can't believe she hasn't woken up, yet. She must be narcoleptic."

I snorted at Jason's remark, and looked at the three women.

"So you're all out of the League?"

Nyssa smiled, knowing where my mind was wandering.

"I think I'll stay here in Budapest for a while. Contact me if you're on the brink of death."

I groaned as she blew me a kiss and grabbed her motorcycle.

"Don't do anything illegal!"

"No promises!"

I watched her speed away, and Shiva spoke up.

"I'm going to leave as well. I brought Cassandra along and she's probably finished her mission."

"Should I be concerned?"

"No."

"Well, thank you, for having our backs."

Jason nodded at her and had placed Rose on the ground, finally removing the bag from her head. She had fair skin and long, silver hair that reached her back. She was very beautiful, and looked around fifteen years old.

"You sure you don't need a lift?"

I looked back up and frowned.

"Annnd, she's gone."

Reese came momentarily afterwards, and we boarded the plane in relief. I glanced at Cheshire and smiled in the backseat as Jason and Reese were having a conversation on who knows what.

"So how have you been?"

She sighed and crossed her legs, which were burned from Komodo's attacks.

"Well besides the exhaustion I am feeling, I happen to be in a very good place right now. I have a daughter who's with my mother right now, and Roy finally came to his senses. I left my dad's antics a while ago, but I missed getting down and dirty."

"How old is your daughter?"

"She's nine months. Her name's Lian. You should come meet her sometime, it's been awhile since we last talked."

I laughed and raised an eyebrow.

"By talking, you mean sparring and stealing dumplings from the baker downtown."

"Hey, you didn't technically steal, since you always fessed up an hour later."

We both laughed, and after a moment of silence, I decided to speak up.

"So on a scale from one to ten, how bad do you miss the action?"

She gave me a coy smile and took out her sai.

"It varies. Are you going to invite me into your little club of assassins?"

"Only if you want in."

"I'd thought you'd never ask."

"Hey Debs, Frankie wants to talk to you!"

A screen popped up in front of us, and Frankie grinned through the screen.

"Looks like you stayed alive, princess!"

I laughed and nodded my head.

"I am very much alive, Frankie. Is there anything in particular that you wanted to say?"

His smile dropped a fraction as he scratched the back of his head.

"Yeah, there's some pretty bad news, Debs."

My stomach dropped and I looked over at Jade, who was staring at the screen curiously.

"Your friend Wally-he's dead."

AHHHHHH! WALLY, NO! DON'T DO THIS TO US!
