Chapter Fourteen: A Mother's Love
After the festival, Mori and Kitaru walked hand in hand to her home. Mori let out a smile while his girlfriend was humming the song he sung earlier to her. "You know that your dark side is very cute." Mori teased. She turned to him and blushed. "I wouldn't mind seeing it every single day."
"Really? Well, I think it is weird that I am so lustful. I am only like that when I am around you." Kitaru said, blushing even more.
"Then I am happy that only I can see this side of you." Mori said.
"Don't push it…" Kitaru said, sticking out her tongue. When they made it to the apartment door, Ashley was there waiting in the house for them. "Mom, are you okay?"
"Oh… Kitty… Takashi… I am glad you two are here. There is something I need to discuss with you both." Ashley said. They joined her and she let out a sigh. "Oh dear, where should I begin?"
"Is there something wrong mom?" Kitaru asked. Mori let out a concern look as he watched the red headed woman let out another sigh.
"I am going away for a while and I don't know how long." Ashley said. "And after that incident in the highway I can't simply leave you on your own. Allenson is already occupied watching over Samuel plus he promised me to watch over Haruhi and Ranka for me when I am gone."
"Where are you going?" Kitaru asked. Saul walked over to her and laid his head on her lap. She run her fingers through his fur and his tail started to wag.
"I promise that I would tell you everything now and I don't mind if Takashi is here but Kitty, I went to your parents' grave a few days ago and was attacked by one of the Rogue Signet." Ashley explained. "He was skilled and when I unmasked him. The man I fought was Mathew."
"Mathew, you mean your lost lover." Kitaru said.
"Yes, I thought he was dead but I have information stating that he was still alive and was used as an experiment. The same experiment I was put through in. So I have to go straight to the Rogue Signet and destroy them before they attack you and Samuel again."
"Also to save Mathew…"
"Yes…"
"Then you should go. I mean, if I were in your shoes I would do the same." Kitaru said, grabbing Mori's hand. "I wouldn't let my lover suffer through all that."
"Thank you for understanding Kitty." Ashley said, smiling. She then turned to Mori. "Takashi, I am leaving my daughter to you. Protect her with your life."
"Yes ma'am…" He replied.
"Also, you and Saul would be staying at the Morinozuka residents for a while." Ashley said. "I have already informed Lord Morinozuka and he is very pleased."
"Wait, I am staying at Mori's house." Kitaru said, blushing.
"Of course, you two are bound to get hitched anyway." Ashley teased.
"Mom…" Kitaru said. She then turned to Mori who had a mischievous grin. Oh no, living in Mori's house… How can I control myself now?
"I have already packed your things so you can leave tonight. I am sorry that it is too soon but I have to leave right away." Ashley said, giving Kitaru a box. She opened it and it was a white cell phone. "You lost your old phone so I brought you a new one. I would try to call."
"Okay mom…" Kitaru said, leaking tears.
"Oh Kitty, I would come back to you…" Ashley said, hugging her daughter. "I know that you are afraid but I would come back."
"Okay Mama Cat, I am going to miss you though." Kitaru said, hugging her back.
"Same here…" Ashley said. "Well, I hope you two have fun without me and stay out of trouble."
"I guess I have to check if I have all my things." Kitaru said, walking to her room. "Also, I want to change out of this dress." Mori and Ashley were alone. Saul then walked towards Mori and licked his face. Mori smiled and pet him.
"Takashi, thank you for saving my daughter earlier…" Ashley said.
"I have too…" Mori replied.
"Of course but …" Ashley said, giving him a card. "If something goes really wrong and you feel that all hope is lost, call this number. They can help you."
"Okay…" Mori said, grabbing it and putting it in his pocket. "I guess I have to call my car."
"I hope it is not a bother." Ashley said.
"Actually, I didn't want to leave her yet." Mori replied.
"Oh, young love… how cute…" Ashley said. "I hope you two don't do anything inappropriate."
"I am sure we would be fine." Mori said. If you mean having seductive thoughts about Kita well I am already there. Then Kitaru walked with her luggage out in jeans short and a pink t-shirt with a cute white bunny on it. Damn, why do you have to be cute Kita? Now that I know your dark side, it is kinda… damn it… control yourself, Mori… "Are you ready?"
"Yup, I am totally ready." Kitaru said, smiling. Then her phone started ringing. "I just got this phone…" Kitaru answered it.
"BIG SISTER! I HEARD YOU ARE LIVING WITH TAKASHI!" Honey cheered.
"Oh hi little brother, oh yes I am now. I am getting ready to leave. Saul is coming along with us as well." Kitaru said. How did he get my number?
"Well that's great because I am spending the night at his place. We can have a sleepover." Honey cheered. "Also, I can't wait to play with Saul."
"That sounds like fun." Kitaru said, smiling. "I would see you there. Goodbye little brother…"
"I see that Mitsukuni would be joining you two." Ashley said, smiling. She then took off her coat and she was in a tight body suit with armor. "I have to get going my Kitty…" She then kissed her on the forehead. "I always love you."
"I always love you too Mama Cat." Kitaru said. "Goodbye…" In an instant, she disappeared without a trace. I know you would save him mom… You are strong and brave. I know you would save him. Then there was a loud beeping outside the house.
"Well, I guess it is time to leave…" Mori said, grabbing her luggage.
"Oh…Come on Saul, it is time to go." Kitaru said, walking beside him. Be safe mom… That is all I ask of you. Saul followed behind him.
They walked to the limousine and when the door open, Honey burst out the car and hugged Kitaru. "SURPRISE!" He cheered.
"This is a surprise…" Kitaru said, giggling. Mori was loading the luggage in the trunk. "Are you ready for our sleepover?"
"Of course, I also invited the rest of our friends." Honey said. Mori froze when he heard that. "And they all agreed even Haruhi… Plus Uncle Morinozuka said it was okay so we are going to have a lot of fun."
"Oh my you planned this all out." Kitaru said, smiling. I am safe. She then notices Mori behind her and he moved to her ear.
"It still doesn't change the fact that I am going to bring out your dark side tonight." He whispered. Kitaru blushed and let out a giggle. Saul and Honey were playing as Mori kissed her on the cheek. "You are mine tonight."
"Oh Mori, you are such a flirt." Kitaru said. I am really going to get it tonight. They stepped in the car and went on their merry way. As they made it the home of the Morinozuka, they found Lord Morinozuka standing outside the gate. They got out the car and he bowed.
"Kitaru, it is good to see you again." He said, smiling.
"Oh Lord Morinozuka, it is good to see you too." Kitaru said, bowing in front of him. To his surprise, Saul lowered his head as well. "I hope it is not a problem for us staying here."
"No, it is a pleasure of having you my dear." Lord Morinozuka said. Ashley was right about the dog. He is big and well trained. At least he learned some manners. I was beginning to worry if accepting the dog was a bad idea.
"Then it is a pleasure of me being here." She said. "Right Saul?" The dog barked in agreement.
"Takashi, show Kitaru her room." His father ordered. Honey and Saul weren't playing attention to them because they were playing. At least it can calm down Mitsukuni…
"Yes father…" Mori said, grabbing her hand and leading her through the halls. "I hope you like the room. It is next to mines."
"Okay…" Kitaru said, blushing. He is not going to let me go… oh dear… She then let out a giggle.
"What's so funny?" Mori asked.
"You are not letting me escape from you." Kitaru said, giggling. Then they stopped in front of a door and he opened it. It was a large bedroom with a queen size bed and beautiful red curtains. There were painting on the walls and roses in every vase. "What a beautiful room?"
"My father wanted to give you the best room in the house and I am happy that is right next to mines." Mori said. He then hugged her from behind. "Kita, I am happy that I have you back. It sucks without you."
"I know I feel the same way." Kitaru said, lifting her hand up and staring at the ring. "I want to keep my promise." Then Saul entered the room with Yuki in her mouth. She kneeled in front of him and grabbed her bunny. "Thanks boy… Do you like our room?" He barked as he raced around the room. They both laughed. She then stared at Yuki. "I remember how nervous you were when you gave her to me."
"I remember that you were crying and smiling at the same time." Mori said. "I still can't believe you still have it."
"Are you saying that I shouldn't have thrown it away?" She teased.
"No, I am just shocked that it is in good condition." Mori said. "I gave it to you ten years ago and I am surprise it looks so brand new."
"I took care of it because it was the only thing I have of you." Kitaru said. "But now I have all of you." Then Honey entered the room and found them in a lovely dovey moment.
Takashi, I am so proud of you. You need someone to love. Honey thought. "Hey Big Sis, we should meet the others. They are waiting for us."
"Really, I can't wait. This is going to be my first sleepover." Kitaru said, cuddling Mori. He blushed as he saw her smiling and cheering like a little girl. "Usually it is supposed to be all girls night in this sort of thing but I really don't care. I am so excited."
"Then let's get going." Honey said, grabbing her hand and pulling her away. "We are going to give you the best sleepover ever." Saul followed them and Mori gritted his teeth as he watched his cousin pulled his girlfriend away.
Why do I feel like this? It is just Mitsukuni. He is my cousin plus he only sees Kitaru as family. Why would I worry about this? Mori thought. They entered the backyard and found the other host club members waiting for them. Kyoya was cooking barbeque on the grill while Haruhi and Tamaki were making refreshments but they were also bickering as they were making it. Hikaru and Kaoru were setting the table.
"Oh hi you guys…" Kitaru said, smiling sweetly at them. "Everything looks wonderful here and even smells wonderful."
"Kitaru, you look cute…" The twins said.
"Aww, thank you guys…" Kitaru said, blushing. "Also, you all did well in that perform and congratulation on your victory against the St. Louis Host Club." Mori gritted his teeth some more. Kitaru turned to him and found him shaking. Oh dear, my boyfriend is getting jealous.
I am not jealous at those two… I can't be jealous… They are just… I don't know. Mori thought, letting out a sigh. Why am I acting like this? I guess it is because I am worried of letting her go again.
"The twins are actually right about that. You look really cute Kitaru." Kyoya said. He then purposely pulled out his phone so he can show her the phone charm that Kitaru made for him for Valentine's Day.
"Oh Kyoya, the charm looks pretty on your phone." Kitaru said, grabbing his hand. "It is so adorable."
"Of course it is, you made it for me." Kyoya said, smiling and blushing at the same time. "I would return the favor on White Day."
"Really? You don't have to." Kitaru said.
"Oh Kitaru, I have to because you are my friend." Kyoya said.
Mori was worried that he had some competition. Even though Kitaru was his, it was clear that someone else wants her. Great, even Kyoya is a threat. I know that Kitaru made him that for Valentine's Day but why do I feel jealous that I don't have a phone charm thing?
"I am just happy you are back to normal. We didn't like the gloomy angel." Tamaki said, giving her a rose. "You should smile more often my rival."
"Rival?" Kitaru said, giggling. "Oh Tamaki, you flatter me with such compliments." She then grabbed the rose and sniffed it. "It is beautiful though."
"Kita-chan… Haru-chan…" Honey said, grabbing their hands. "Let's swim at the swimming pool. "I am really hot and sweaty."
"That's sounds nice." Kitaru said.
"Yup, a good swim sounds very nice." Haruhi agreed.
"Hey wait for us…" Tamaki said, racing towards them. The others followed as well even Saul.
"Hey Kitaru, this is your first sleepover right?" Haruhi asked.
"Yup, I am so excited." Kitaru answered. The boys heard this and let out mischievous grins.
I wonder if Kitaru would get scared when we tell scary stories tonight… All the boys thought.
When they made it to the pool, Haruhi and Kitaru smile and exchanged playful glances at each other. They pushed Honey into the pool and they started to giggle.
"How's the water?" The girls said.
"You two are meanies…" Honey said, pouting. Saul jumped in and dog paddle around the water. Then Tamaki pushed Haruhi in the water. Honey started to laugh along with the others. "How is the water Haru-chan?"
"No fair Tamaki-sempai…" Haruhi said. "I wasn't ready."
"Come on… You started this game." Tamaki said. Haruhi grabbed hold of his leg.
"If I am wet then you are joining me…" Haruhi said, pulling him into the pool. Tamaki hugged her and started laughing. "Tamaki-sempai, I know I don't say it a lot but I love you." Tamaki just hugged her tighter. "I really do…"
"Thank you Haruhi." Tamaki said, smiling. "Thank you for loving me." Then twins charge to push Kyoya into the pool but he dodge them and they ended up falling in.
"I can see that a mile away." Kyoya said.
"Come on Kyoya-sempai…" Hikaru said.
"Don't be a spoiled sport." Kaoru added.
"I am not in the mood to swim." Kyoya protested. Then suddenly, he got pushed in. He fell in the water and when he came up to the surface he found Kitaru giggling. "Oh you little sneak…"
"Sorry Kyoya but you look cute wet." Kitaru said, giggling some more. Kyoya blushed in the water while everyone was playing in the pool. Watching them so happy… This is home… To her surprise, she was lifted in the air by her boyfriend and stare at him straight into his eyes. "Mori…"
"I think we should get wet don't you think?" Mori said. He jumped in the pool with her in his embrace and in the end; everyone was laughing and having fun.
Ashley was on a private jet, heading to her destination for her mission. She was the only one in the jet plane and it was on autopilot. I still feel uneasy leaving Kitty like this. She turned to the window and stare at the night sky. It was snowing and the white snow reminded her of her daughter. I know she is in good hands but I still feel I shouldn't leave her side. "Maybe I would call her when I get off this plane." Then all of the sudden something crashed into the plane. She turned and found two jet fighters were shooting it down. "Just my luck… I can't get a decent break." The plane was blasted out of the sky.
"Target eliminated." The pilot said. Then out of the blue, they spotted Ashley on their plane, gripping on a katana. "SHE IS ON THE PLANE!" Ashley raced towards the pilot while swinging her blade. In the end, the plane was in pieces. The other jet fighter was shooting at her. She jumped towards it and smashed the window. She pulled the pilot out of the plane and took control.
"I should go on vacation after this." Ashley mumbled, flying away. They are after me already. She landed a few miles away from her destination and pulled out her cell phone.
"Hello…"
"Hi Kitty…"
"Mama Cat, how are you?"
"I am doing fine. I just want to check in on you." Ashley said, smiling.
"I am having so much fun. I am in a sleepover. It is my first one and I am so excited. We are about to tell scary stories now."
"Well, I am happy to hear that. I have to go. I have a meeting now. Love you and take care Kitty."
"I love you too Mama Cat…"
She hung up and found herself surrounded by ninjas. "Today is not my day…"
"Kitaru, are you done?" Kyoya asked, knocking on her door. "I was wondering if you have a comb. I forget to pack one." She opened the door and she was in her night gown decorated with bunnies. He blushed in front of her as she gave him a pink comb. She is so cute… "Thanks…"
"Don't mention it." Kitaru said, smiling. "I brought a lot of combs with me. I use to comb my mom's hair. She was too lazy to do it herself."
"You don't mind combing my hair. I am lazy myself." Kyoya teased.
"Sure, I would love to." Kitaru said, grabbing his hand. She pulled him to a chair in front of a mirror. He was blushing but she didn't see it. "Oh Kyoya, give me the comb."
"Ahh… Kitaru… I was only kidding…" Kyoya said, shaking.
"Well, I am not. I would be happy to comb your hair." Kitaru said, grabbing the comb from him. She started combing his black raven hair and let out a giggle. "Your hair is so smooth."
"Thanks…" He said nervously. It feels so good. It is so smoothing and her strokes are ever so gentle.
"Flower gleam and glow. Make your power shine. Make the clock reverse and return what once was mine…" Kitaru sang. "What once was mine…"
"Tangled…" He said.
"Yup, I love Disney movies. They are just too cute and make you believe in a happy ending." Kitaru said.
"I guess you are a kid at heart." Kyoya said. "Kitaru, can I ask you a question?"
"Sure, I am all ears." Kitaru said.
"Let's just say that you have two best friends. One of them is a boy and one of them is a girl. You trust them with your life and you would do anything for them. But these two friends are lovers and hopelessly in love. However, you have feelings for that boy. What would you do?"
"Well, that is a tough one. I am going to use Haruhi, Tamaki-sempai, and me as an example. Tamaki-sempai and Haruhi was very close to me and I love them but if I was to say love Tamaki-sempai more than a friend but he is with Haruhi, I would respect my boundaries. I mean, it would be selfish of me to pull those two away. Everyone has a soul-mate and it would be terrible for me to pull Tamaki-sempai away from Haruhi if they were destined to be." Kitaru answered.
"How can you get rid of those feelings?" Kyoya asked.
"I don't know how but all I know that I would not ruin their love even if it hurts because I would only give pain to both of them and I don't want that." Kitaru said. "Why did you ask this question? Are you in this type of situation?"
"No, I mean… I was just curious…" Kyoya lied. She is so loyal and faithful to her friends. I don't think I would have a chance with Kitaru at this rate. What am I thinking? I can't have feelings for her. I can't… She is with Mori-sempai. "I mean, a love triangle sounds very interesting so I wanted some opinions."
"Oh, I see…" Kitaru said. "I never been in a love triangle but if that ever happens, I would put my friends' feelings before me." Then Honey entered the room, crying. "Honey-sempai, what's wrong? Why are you crying?"
"Usa-chan is hurt…" Honey cried, showing a tore on Usa-chan's arm. Kitaru wiped his face and kissed his forehead.
"Oh dear, he looks like he is in pain. Don't worry, I am a doctor. I would fix this." Kitaru said, walking towards the table next to her bed and grabbing a pink box. She sat on the chair besides Kyoya and opened it. It was filled with thread, needles, buttons, and well sewing stuff. "What color does Usa-chan wants?"
"I think he wants yellow." Honey said.
"Then yellow it is." Kitaru said. She put the yellow thread through the hole on the needle and tied it. She grabbed Usa-chan and started to sew his hand together. "Don't worry Usa-chan, you are going to get better."
"I didn't know you can sew." Kyoya said.
"My mom would always come home with tore up clothes so I taught myself how to sew for her." Kitaru explained. "I wanted to be helpful for her instead of a burden so I did everything I can to make her happy." She then cut the thread and lifted Usa-chan in the air. "All done… Usa-chan you are such a brave bunny…"
"Thank you so much Big Sister…" Honey cheered, grabbing Usa-chan from her and hugging him tightly. "You are the best doctor ever." Kyoya just blushed when he caught a glimpse of Kitaru smiling and giggling. Honey then turned to Kyoya. "Hey, why is Kyo-chan here?"
"Oh, I was combing his hair." Kitaru answered.
"Really? Well, everyone is at the sparring room. Haru-chan pointed out that we would all sleep there on the floor like a real commoner's sleepover." Honey explained.
"I see…" Kitaru said. "Well, let me get my things." Kitaru walked to her bed and grabbed Yuki. "Alright then, let's head out."
"Okay…" Honey cheered. Kyoya stood up from his seat. "Hey Kyo-chan, Kita-chan looks very cute right?" Kyoya froze and blushed viciously in front of him.
"I…" Kyoya mumbled.
"Come on you two." She said, grabbing both of their hands and pulling them to the sparring room. Honey cheered and giggled while Kyoya was hiding his blush. Then he found a beautiful ring on her finger.
That ring… Kyoya thought, staring at it. He actually gave it to her.
"Hey Kyoya, I want your opinion on something." Mori asked.
"I am all ears." I said.
"I know that you helped Kita during that masked ball." Mori said. "So I want you to show you this." He pulled out a small box and opened it. It was a beautiful ring. "What do you think?"
"It is quite exquisite and lovely. Is it for Kitaru?" I asked, forcing a smile.
"Yes, I am going to give it to her on Valentine's Day." Mori said. "I feel very nervous. I have never felt like this before. I guess because I finally found someone to love."
"I am proud of you." I said. "I know she is going to love it."
"Thanks Kyoya…" Mori said. "It is a promise ring and I want her to be with her always."
She would always love you Mori-sempai. They found everyone in their pajamas. Haruhi was wearing shorts with a long T-shirt.
"Oh Haruhi, you look cute." Kitaru said, racing towards her and hugging her.
"Well, you look cute too." Haruhi said, giggling. "I made some popcorn for tonight."
"Awesome, I can't wait." Kitaru said. Then the twins appeared behind them.
"Kitaru, I hope you up for tonight." Hikaru said.
"We are going to tell the scariest stories ever." Kaoru added.
"Wow really? I can't wait." Kitaru said, smiling.
"Really? That's your reaction." The twins asked.
"Oh, did I react wrong?" She asked. Then Mori patted her on the head.
"It just shows how brave you are." Mori said, smiling. "So don't worry about it." He then moved to her ear. "By the way, nice nightgown Kita…"
"Thanks Mori…" Kitaru said, smiling.
"Oh Big Sister, can we sleep together?" Honey asked. "I might get nightmares after the scary stories."
"Of course, I would love to." Kitaru said.
"That's your reaction?" The twins asked again.
"What did I do this time?" Kitaru said.
"They are just jealous." Honey said, cuddling her. "I am going to sleep with you tonight. You are probably going to be warm. Your body is so soft and warm Kita-chan." The twins got a nosebleed after that. Kyoya was blushing and tried very hard not to react like the twins.
"Mitsukuni, they are taking it in a sexually way." Mori said.
"But I love Kita-chan too. You don't need to hog her." Honey pouted.
"She is my girlfriend. I have every right to hog her." Mori said.
"How about both of you sleep with me?" Kitaru said, smiling. "You two can protect me from nightmares and I can keep you two warm."
"Deal…" Mori and Honey said.
"Wow, I thought they would argue over her." Tamaki said.
"Well, you know that will never happen." Haruhi said. "Who is starting this thing?"
"We are…" The twins said. They started to tell their scary story and Honey was clinging onto Kitaru while she was in the Mori's embrace. Tamaki was shaking and Kyoya and Haruhi were just merely listening to their story.
"Little brother, it's okay. It is just a story." Kitaru whispered, smoothing his hand.
"I know but it is so scary." Honey cried, hugging her. The twins were done and sigh when Kitaru and Haruhi were just well… normal.
"That was a great story." Haruhi said.
"You are not afraid aren't you?" Hikaru teased.
"You don't need to hide it." Kaoru added.
"Actually, I wasn't…" Haruhi said. Tamaki and Kyoya took their turns but there was no luck. The two girls were still unafraid yet Honey was still in tears. Mori didn't want to try because he didn't know any stories. "Kitaru, do you want to try?"
"Well, I am not very great at telling stories." Kitaru said, blushing. "I think I would pass."
"Come on, just try." Haruhi said. "I don't even know any scary stories either."
"Alright, I guess I have no choice." Kitaru said, letting out a sigh. "Honey-sempai, stop me if it get too scary okay?"
"No, I am a brave boy so I am going to listen to your story." Honey said.
"Alright then… A century ago, in a wealthy academy just like Ouran High School. There was a host club." Kitaru said, smiling. "They goal was to make every girl happy and use their elegant and unique charm to entertain the ladies."
"That sounds like our host club." Tamaki said.
"It does, doesn't it? Anyway, everything was going well until a girl with raven black hair and red ruby eyes entered the room." Kitaru continued. "The prince type introduced himself to her and she fell in love with him. Her name was Samara."
"This doesn't sound like a scary story." Hikaru said.
"Boring." Kaoru said.
"Come on, let her finish." Haruhi snapped.
"As time passed, they casually spend their days together. She was filled with happiness and joy as she spends her time with him. He was handsome and dreamy so she couldn't resist falling in love with him." Kitaru said. "Then one day, she was in a car accident while heading her way to school. Everyone was dejected of her death and came to her funeral except for her lover. Her ghost appeared because of her desire to see him again and when he did, he was charming another lady. This made her angry and her hatred grew while her purity faded. She transformed into a vicious four legged creature with sharp teeth and daggering eyes. She wanted vengeance to any host." The twins finally snapped out of their rudeness and started to be afraid. "The Prince Type host was doing his usual job until he found a rose on the floor. To his surprise, there was a trail of roses. He followed and when he did…"
"What happened? What did he find?" Tamaki asked.
"He found someone in a black hood. He froze in fear when he found his lost lover, standing in front of him. She roared viciously at him and transformed into a four legged beast with razor sharp claws and teeth. The host tried to run away but he couldn't. He watched his blood gushed out of his body when the beast jaws clashed into him." She then let out a smile. "The blood of the host gave her so much pleasure that she wanted more so she dedicated her time to satisfy her hunger with other hosts. There are three signs when you know she is here. First, you can hear the howl of all the hosts she killed." The wind started to blew so strong that he sounded like horrid screams.
"WHAT WAS THAT?!" The twins screamed.
"It is probably a coincidence." Tamaki said, keeping his cool. "It is just the wind."
"Second, the light would be consumed by darkness." Kitaru said. The lights started to flicker. A few seconds later, the lights were out and the wind continued to blow viciously. Hikaru, Kaoru, and Tamaki were hugging each other. Kyoya, Mori, and Haruhi were still calm while Honey was cuddling Kitaru. "Then finally, she would appear to take her vengeance." Then there was a shadow of a huge four legged creature. It was breathing heavily. "She is hungry for any host especially a prince type."
"AHHHH!" They all screamed. "SAMARA IS HERE!"
"DON'T EAT ME!" Tamaki screamed. The lights came back on and Saul dashed towards Kitaru and licked her face.
"Oh Saul, did you have a nice nap?" Kitaru said, giggling.
"Sorry about the lights." Satoshi said. "I accidently bumped into it."
"YOU SCARED US HALF TO DEATH!" The twins plus Tamaki screamed.
"Sorry, I was escorting Saul to you guys. Well, goodnight." Satoshi said, walking out the room with a yawn.
"Were you scared Honey-sempai?" Kitaru asked.
"It was pretty scary but I am fine with you around." Honey said, hugging her.
"That was a pretty nice story." Haruhi said.
"NO IT WASN'T!" Tamaki and the twins screamed.
"Thanks Haruhi…" Kitaru said. "But I think it is enough for one night. I don't think Honey-sempai can handle it." She then smoothed his hair once more. "Honey-sempai, how about I tell you a story about my mother and how I met her?"
"You mean Ash-chan." He asked.
"Yup…"
"We would all like to hear it." Kyoya said.
"She is a pretty cool aunty." Haruhi added. "Tell us how you met her."
"Alright, I was in the orphanage called St. Bonnies. It wasn't a good place because there was little food to go around." Kitaru explained. I can remember it well…
I was very little and always being bullied by the older kids. They would take my breakfast, lunch, and dinner away from me so I would be left starving. I can remember that I used to get whipped for passing out while doing my chores. What did you expect, I didn't have anything in my belly or any strength left. So I decided to run away from that horrid place. I remember it was raining and I was running away from a man. I stole a loaf of bread and forced my legs to move swiftly. But I bumped into someone and dropped my bread in the mud. I looked up and found a beautiful woman with long red hair and pink eyes. I have never seen her before.
"HEY, GIVE ME THAT GIRL! SHE STOLE FROM ME!" The man screamed. I was ready to receive a hit from him until the woman gave him money.
"This would cover what she stole so scram. It is very shameful to hit a little girl." She replied. He grunted with her responds and walked away. I pulled my body up and bowed in front of her.
"Thank you lady..." I said.
"What is your name?" She asked. I wasn't sure if I could trust her but she seems nice since she paid for the bread.
"My name is Kitaru Fujioka." I replied. Then my stomach started growling and was embarrassed to even look at her. But I stared at my loaf of bread and it was in a mud puddle. I was about to pick it up until she grabbed my hand.
"You must be hungry. I would not allow you to eat that bread. It is dirty." She replied. "Let's get something to eat."
"Okay…" I said. "But what is your name lady?"
"My name is Ashley Hisatake…" She said, smiling sweetly at me.
"Wow, so Ash-chan saved you." Honey said, smiling.
"Oh Kitaru, it must be hard for you." Haruhi said. "I can't imagine the pain and suffering you have been through." Mori hugged her tighter and so did Honey.
"Yeah, it was hard but when I met her it was fun. I would always sneak out and meet her at the diner. She would always treat me and talk stories." Kitaru said, smiling. "Then one day…everything changed."
"Hey Ashley, this is Yuki…" I said, showing her my stuffed bunny. "A friend of mine name Takashi Morinozuka gave it to me. I love him so much and I wish I can see him."
"So what is keeping you?" She asked.
"I am all alone. My parents died in a car crash and now I live in an orphanage." I said, letting out a frown. I hugged Yuki tightly in my arms. "All I have is Yuki…" Then two police officers walked in the diner and towards them. Then grabbed me and was pulling me away. "LET ME GO!"
"Officers, what is the meaning of this?" She asked.
"The Manager of the St. Bonnies orphanage called us and reported that there was a girl missing."One officer explained. "She has been sneaking out occasionally and now we finally found her."
"I see…" She said.
"PLEASE DON'T LET THEM TAKE ME!" I cried.
"I am sorry but I can't do anything." She replied. I cried even more with her responds and let them take me.
Ashley was standing in the snow, staring at all the inert bodies on the ground. Red blood covered the white beautiful snow and she let out a sigh. She changed my life.
I remember I let her go and I felt guilty about it. I knew who she was from the beginning and I couldn't bring myself to let her go because she reminded me of Akira. I was about to leave the diner until I found her white stuffed bunny on the opposite seat. I grabbed the stuffed animal and stare at it for a bit. Then my phone started to ring. I answered it and it was my friend Mona.
"Ashley, where are you? You have a job to do and yet you didn't answer any of my phone calls."
"Mona, I need to do something first. Can you cancel this mission for me?" I asked. "Or give it to someone else?"
"Ashley, are you sick? It is not like you cancel a job."
"Like I said before, I have something to do first." I said. "I would explain later but please do me a favor."
"What is it?"
"Create a fake profile of me. Make me look motherly like." I said.
"Why?"
"Because I am going to adopt a little girl…"
She then looks up at the sky and watch the snow fall. This whiteness reminds me of her. I really do miss my little girl.
"Wow, she let you go." Tamaki said.
"Well, at first I thought she didn't really care for me but I realize she was right. She couldn't go against the police." Kitaru explained. "But she came back for me…"
"WHAT DID I TOLD YOU OF RUNNING AWAY YOU LITTLE MINX!" The manager screamed.
"WELL WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE!" I screamed. She slapped my face and it made me collapsed to the ground.
"You would not eat for the whole day tomorrow." She hissed. "Also, you would be on kitchen duty." She left me on the floor, crying in pain. I was tired of this life. I coughed out blood, knowing I don't have a lot of days to live.
"I guess I should be dead." I cried. "I should have died with you guys… Mommy…Daddy… Why did you have to leave me?" I cried so much that the floor was all wet. Then I heard a familiar voice. I crawled towards the door and peaked and spotted that woman. She was wearing a collar white shirt with a brown vest and a short and tight black skirt. She was wearing high heels as well and glasses. Her long red hair was hung down her back neatly.
"So you are Ms. Ashley Hisatake and you are here to adopt a little girl?" The manager asked, putting on a fake smile.
"Yes, I recently became a widow and I thought that a child would erase the pain in my heart." She said, smiling.
"It says here that you are a college professor." The Manager said, looking through her paperwork. "Also, you travel a lot for your job. Are you certain that you are able to take care of the child while you work?"
"Of course, I am more and capable of raising a child." She replied. "I love children and I was actually going to settle down here and work in St. Bella Academy."
"Oh really, how impressive." The Manager said. "So what age group are you thinking of?"
"Actually, I met one of your girls a few days ago and I would love to adopt her. Her name is Kitaru Fujioka." She said. I was shocked. She wants to adopt me?
"I am afraid that you should rethink your decision. Kitaru has a medical condition that would surely cost a lot of money." The Manager explained. She always mentions this to anyone that wants to adopt me or the other children. I didn't want to put my hopes up after hearing that.
"Then it gives you more reasons to give her to me. I would take care of everything." She replied, smiling. "I want Kitaru Fujioka and no one else." I was so happy that I suddenly have the strength to stand up and walk out the room.
"YOU REALLY WANT TO ADOPT ME!" I screamed.
"Of course…" She said, smiling. "So where do I sign?"
"I would get the paperwork…" The Manager said, walking out the room.
"I thought you didn't want to see me again." I said, crying. She got on her knees and patted me on the head. "I thought you are going to abandon me for good."
"I want to see you everyday my little Kitty." She teased, giggling. "So don't cry…"
"So if I am Kitty than I would call you Mama Cat." I teased back. She wiped my tears away.
"I like the sound of that," She said. She then pulled out Yuki. "You forgot something.
"YUKI!" I cried, hugging her tightly. "I am so happy. I thought I lost her. She is so important to me."
"I know… So would you let me be your mother?"
"Of course, I love you mommy." I said, hugging her. "Thank you for adopting me Mama Cat."
"I love you too Kitty."
"So that is how Ashley Hisatake became my mother." Kitaru said.
"How did you found out about her job?" Tamaki asked.
"Well, I was snooping around and we were at a slump in our relationship. She always comes late from work and she is hardly at home. Then we got into an argument." Kitaru said.
It was already midnight and she is not back yet. I waited for her. I was so mad and sad at the same time. She was a good person and a good mother but we hardly spend time together plus I don't really know what she does. I want to know. Then the door open and I found her gripping her shoulder. "Mama Cat, are you okay?"
"Kitty, why are you still up?" She asked. I can see blood all over her sleeve.
"You are hurt…" I said, racing towards her. "What happened?"
"I am fine. It was nothing." She replied, walking to the fridge. "So did you eat?"
"Why are you like this?" I asked. She turned to me with a baffled look.
"Like what?"
"You are hiding things from me. Do you trust me?" I asked. "Do you trust me at all?"
"Kitty, I do trust you."
"Then tell me what do you do for living? Why are you always coming home late? You mostly come home injured and when I wake up in the morning, you are gone. Where are you most of the time?"
"Kitty, it is complicated." She said, grabbing a soda from the fridge.
"I waited all night for you so please tell me." I said.
"Kitty, I don't want to talk about it. Just trust me…"
"I want to know what you do. I don't want to be in the dark most of the time. I want to know more about you but you are pushing me away." I cried. "Did I do something wrong? Do you regret your decision of adopting me?"
"Kitty…"
"You are going to leave me just like them…" I cried. "I deserve to be alone." I raced out the house.
"KITARU!"
"I was too naïve of what she was doing. I put the fear of being alone first instead of her intentions and it got me into trouble." Kitaru said.
"Like what?" Honey asked.
"I was capture by a bunch of goons and was taken into some warehouse. These people were getting military weapons and were planning on using it to control the country. They had everything and I was used as hostage so the weapon of Japan won't attack them. I was confused of what they meant by that until…"
I was in a metal cage and was guarded with three armed men. Outside the warehouse was heavily armed by tanks, men, and robotic armored men. It was like the whole army was outside the warehouse, making sure I was kept in my cage. I was crying that I would never see my mom again and it was my entire fault. I was afraid that she was mad at me because I ran away from her. Then I hurt explosions outside the warehouse. Then a woman with long blonde hair entered the room from the ceiling and disposes the armed men like it was nothing. She walked to my cage and destroyed the bars with a laser kunai. "Who are you?"
"I am a friend and I here to get you out." She said, offering her hand to me. "Your mom is right outside."
"My mom?"
Ashley entered the base and started slicing and shooting anyone that stands in her way. I remember I was filled with rage when she was kidnapped. I wanted her back no matter what and if there was a scratch on her. I was going to kill everyone in the warehouse. When we found the location of her whereabouts, Mona and I took off to save her. Two women against a whole army, sounds fair don't you think?
"Ashley, I need you to give me a distraction while I sneak in the warehouse and find her." Mona said. "There are a lot of them and with high tech weaponry. Please be careful."
"Mona, I am the weapon of mass destruction of Japan. I think I can handle it." I said. "Just please find her. I don't know what I would do if something happened to her. It is my fault she is in that horrid place."
"You shouldn't blame yourself. She didn't even know that you were getting rid of those people that wanted her." Mona said, trying to make me feel better.
"She doesn't know anything about me and I didn't even want to share that with her. I am too afraid what she would think of me." I said. "But please get her out of there."
"Right…" Mona said, disappearing in front of me. I walked up to the army and all their weapons were on me.
"So you finally decided to show up." The leader said, giving me a cocky smile.
"Where is my daughter?" I asked.
"She is in a safe place." The leader said. "We told you that we won't harm her if you stay away from our business but you are here. You have some nerve coming here Angel of Death."
"Let my daughter go. If you do, I would spare your life." I said. They all laughed at my offer.
"You have no right to threaten us. Do you want your little girl to suffer because of your stupidity?" He asked.
"The real question is do you know that you pissed the wrong mother off?" I said, taking off my glasses. I turned into my demon form. My skin was pale ivory and was covered with red armor. My long red hair turned into long spiky black hair and my eyes were demonic as ever. I looked like I barely have some clothes on. A long blade came out from my arm. "Let's have some fun." I licked it with pleasure. In this form, I act like a totally different person and I don't want my Kitty to see me like this.
"So this is the great weapon of mass destruction." The leader said. "KILL HER!" They started shooting at me but I raced through those swarm of bullets. I want to kill. I wanted to see blood. A Tank fired a missile at me and I took the hit. "WE GOT HER!" When the smoke cleared, I was still standing and was thirsty for more. "What the?" I jumped in the air and sliced the tank into pieces and the rest well… It got messy and bloody.
"When I heard my mom was out there fighting, I couldn't believe it. I thought she didn't want me anymore." Kitaru said.
I turned away from the lady. "What's wrong? Do you want to see your mom?"
"I don't think she wants to see me." I cried. "She is probably mad at me for running away. I just wanted to get close to her and spend time with her but I pushed her too far. I know that she is busy with work but…"
"She works a lot alright but she has a purpose now. She does it for you kiddo" She said, grabbing me by the shoulders. "She risks her life and fight bad guys to keep you safe. She loves you Kitaru. She loves you so much that she is scared of losing you. That is why she works. She is a guardian angel and her job is to protect people and also you." I started to cry even more. I understand why she gets wounds and come home late. She was trying to get rid of the bad guys for me. I cried even more. She then offered her hand to me again. "So do you want to see your mom?"
"Yes…" I said. She led me out the warehouse and everything was in fire and there was blood everywhere. Then I saw a woman barely has anything on but red armor was covering her private areas. She hand long black hair and her eyes looks so familiar. She turned to me and when I took a good look at her I knew it was her. "Mom?"
"Kitty…" She replied. There was a silence between us and I broke it off.
"Mommy…"I raced towards her and jumped into her embrace. "Mommy…"
"Kitaru, you are not afraid of me." She said.
"No, you are my mommy." I replied, breaking down to more tears. "Mommy…" Her demonic form disappeared. She fell on her knees and hugged me tighter. "Mommy, I am so happy you came."
"I love you so much Kitaru." She said. "I was so scared to lose you. I would always come for you when you are in trouble. I would always be there to save you."
"I was afraid you hated me." I cried.
"I would never hate you." She said, wiping my tears. "I love you."
"I love you too Mommy." I said.
"Mona, take care of my daughter." My mom said. She fainted in front of me. She collapsed to the ground.
"MOMMY!" I cried. "WAKE UP!"
"There is no need to worry. She hasn't slept ever since you disappeared." Mona said. "She is just exhausted. Everything is going to be fine."
After that day, I understood her even more and when I am alone in the apartment, I pray that she comes back to me. I know she will… She always will and we have a lot of fun when she comes home.
"Wow so your mom has this demon form." Hikaru said.
"Pretty cool." Kaoru said.
"It explains a lot why none of my police forces want to mess with her." Kyoya said. "Plus my father…"
"Aunty Ashley sounds super cool." Haruhi said.
"She sounds scary too." Tamaki added.
"That was a good story." Honey said, letting out a yawn. "Ash-chan really knows how to kick butt."
"Well, it is time for bed." Kitaru said, placing him down on the mat with a pillow. She tucked him in and kissed him on the forehead. Everyone was doing the same. They were getting ready for bed. "Goodnight everyone."
"Goodnight Kitaru…" They replied. She lay down next to Honey but was pulled onto Mori's chest.
"Mori?" She said, blushing.
"You told me that I have to chase the nightmares away." Mori said.
"Goodnight Mori…" She said, kissing him lightly on the lips. "I love you and have sweet dreams."
"Goodnight Kita…" He replied. "And I love you too."
"Me too…" Honey said, pulling her away from Mori's embrace. She lay back on the mat and both boys hugged her. She let out a giggle and kissed both of them on the cheek.
"Sleep well boys…"
Ashley let out a sigh as she watched the ground filled with blood. She then turned to the secret base she found and it was now in flames. She destroyed and killed every rogue ninja in the base and let the evidences burn into ashes. "I really need a vacation. After this job, I am going to retire." She said, letting out another sigh. "How about I take Kitty to an island vacation? Hawaii, Fiji, American Samoa… So many islands to choose from." Then Mathew appeared in front of her. "So, you want to play again?"
"I told you when we cross paths again, I will kill you." Mathew said.
"There is no reason for us to fight." Ashley said, pushing her glasses upwards. "Besides, you can't beat me."
"Are you mocking me?" He hissed.
"No, I am stating the truth. You are after the demon soul in my body am I correct?" She asked. "Even with this demon inside me, I can still kick your ass."
"Don't be too cocky." He snapped. Then his head started pounding in pain. What is this?
"Ashley, I have a very important question to ask you." I said. I don't know why I am sitting by the shore with this witch. Why do I have memories of her? And why do I even love her?
"Alright, what is it?" She asked. She was beautiful I hate to admit. Her long red hair and glimmering pink eyes. She was stunning especially in a white dress. I kneel down in front of her. Why in the hell I am doing that?
"I love you with every fiber of my being. I love everything about you and I am so happy that you have given me that chance." I said. "Would you marry me?"
"Mathew…" She said, crying. "I will love to marry you…" I stood up and open my arms to her. She jumped into my embrace and we both shared a passionate kiss. WHY AM I DOING THIS?! I AM SUPPOSED TO KILL HER!
"Tell me… Why are you always in my thoughts? Why are you always in my damn head?" He snapped. "Is this kind of a sick joke? Tell me."
"I didn't do anything to you. I am not some witch you know. I don't have that sort of power." She said. "I am a killing machine and mind control is out of my reach."
"THEN WHY ARE YOU ALWAYS IN MY DAMN HEAD?!" He screamed.
"Maybe because those are your memories…" She replied.
"No, there are not. I am not a weakling. I don't fall in love. I am not…" He stopped when she was right in front of her. She then put her sword away and let out a smile. "What are you doing? Why are you not keeping your distant from me? Why are you not afraid?"
"Why would I be afraid of you?" She said. "So are you going to stand there like an idiot or you are going to attack me?"
"Don't you mock me." He snapped, swing his blade towards her. She just stood there without grabbing her weapon. When the blade was about to touch her neck, it stopped. "Damn it, why aren't you defending yourself?"
"Why did you stop?" She asked. She stole a kiss from him. His eyes widened as she felt her lips on his. He pushed her away and swung his blade once more. She dodged it but still had a smile on her face.
"WHAT THE FUCK?! WHY DID YOU KISS ME!" He snapped, blushing in front of her. She was giggling at his reaction. "WHAT IS SO FUNNY?!" He dashed behind her and kicked her but she dodged it and stole another kiss. He pushed her away once more and gritting his teeth. "STOP KISSING ME!"
"I can't help it. You are too cute when you are mad." Ashley teased, blowing him a kiss. He grabbed a hold of her hair and pulled her towards him. She was trapped in his embrace. "I see you want more."
"You think this is a game." He snapped. "I am here to kill you." He was interrupted by another kiss but this time, her tongue invaded his mouth and swirl inside him. He didn't push her away but pulled her closer. Why am I not pushing her away? Why do I want her? What is going on with me? Why do I? She pulled back and smiled. "You are such a demon."
"Thank you…" She said, pushing him away. "I know you love it." Then a shuriken dashed towards her and she caught it. "I knew you would come out eventually."
"Hello Ashley, it has been a long time." A man said. He had long spiky black hair and red eyes.
"I still don't understand why you are doing this. Dmitri, you are supposed to the King's advisor. Why are you trying to kill off the royal family?" She asked.
"I am just trying to kill you and Samuel." He replied. "I need your daughter for something so she would still be breathing while you rot."
"You have been controlling the King all this time." Ashley said. "My agency can't even step foot on Kenova because of you. You have the power yet you still want my daughter. I am not pleased."
"The King is like one of my toys in my toy box. I believe you met the newest addition to my collection. Isn't he adorable?" He asked. "When I get your daughter into the kingdom and marry off my son, I would dispose of her and her grandfather. He is too easy to control."
"Well, you need to get my blessing if you want to marry my little girl." She said.
"Yes, I would love to get your blessing. Not for her hand in marriage but also for the demon soul inside your delicious body." Dmitri said, licking his lips. "Ashley, you were always my favorite girl."
"I am very lucky." Ashley said sarcastically.
"I mean it…" Dmitri said, circling around her. "I always wanted you but you were so busy with your stupid servant. All I wanted was you and your love but I wasn't good enough." He grabbed a strand of her red hair and sniffed it.
"So to get me back, you made my lover your toy." Ashley said. "Dmitri, I am here to stop you for my daughter's sake."
"But you also hope you can get him back." Dmitri said. "It must be hard for you to see him with bloodlust when he fights you or doesn't recall who you really are to him."
"Master?" Mathew said. Master and she know each other. Why do I hate him around her?
"It is fine if he doesn't remember me or doesn't want to be with me." Ashley said. "I just want him away from you."
"Then I don't have a choice do I." Dmitri said. "Mathew, transform and kill her."
"Yes Master…" He said, transforming into a demon. His skin was darker and armor covered his body. His dirty blonde hair turned into spiky black hair and he had daggering demonic eyes.
"Impossible…" Ashley said, staring at him with shock.
"When I found Mathew, he still had a piece of the demon soul within his body." Dmitri said. "This enables him to transform like you."
"But why do you still want me if you already had it?" Ashley asked.
"The more of the demon soul we have, the more we have a better chance of having a demonic army." Dmitri said. "So Mathew… Attack…" Mathew summoned two blades from his hands and raced towards her. She dodged every attack. Even without her demon form, she was able to keep up with him. It shows how worthy she is of obtaining that demon soul.
"Transform…" Mathew said. "You are not going to win with you stay like that." She took off her glasses and gripped her sword tightly.
"Like I said before, I can kick your ass without the demon." She said. She swiftly dashed towards Mathew and started to swing her blade. She was to strong that Mathew was being pushed through the snow. Mathew dodged her attack and tried to counter but she caught his blade with her teeth and punched his face. He tumbled to the ground while she dashed to Dmitri. Dmitri was once again, protected by Mathew. "GET AWAY!"
"NEVER!" He snapped, pushing her away. He dashed towards her and started to attack. She was getting cut from every direction. When he was done, he found out it was snow and had an explosive tag on it. "Oh shit…" It exploded and he was pushed away and was wrapped around in chains. "LET ME GO!" He transformed back into normal.
"Just sit there like a good boy." She said. She continued making her way to Dmitri. "You have no bodyguards now so you are going to die here. You don't have your stupid drug with you as well."
"I don't think it is that easy." Dmitri said. He pulled out a gun and pointed it on Mathew. "I am going to have you one way or another." He pulled the trigger and the bullet raced towards Mathew's head. Mathew closed his eyes, waiting for his fate but he found blood on his face. He turned and found Ashley, shielding him. The bullet pierced her chest. "I told you Ashley, it is not that easy. There is a reason why I have your lover as a bodyguard. He is your weakness." She coughed out blood. Mathew was shocked to see this.
"Why did you save me?" Mathew asked, breaking the chains and grabbing her. "Why did you?" She turned her head slightly towards him and let out a weak smile. "Answer me…" She collapsed on her knees. "Ashley…"
"I am sorry that I didn't save you, Matt." She said, collapsing on the ground unconscious.
"Finally, I have her." Dmitri said. "Mathew, carry her to the jet. We have a lot of work to do."
"Right…" He said, carrying her bridal style. He stared at her inert body and was shaking. What are you doing? Why are you so sad about her? She was the idiot that jumped for the bullet. She doesn't mean anything to you. Why did she apologize about not saving me? What did she mean by that? He then felt his chest tighten and was holding back tears. "Why am I feeling this way?"
