CHAPTER FOURTEEN

Quinn POV

It's been two weeks since Quinn moved into the Berry-Hummel-Lopez household and things were just okay. Her and Rachel were doing great when Sam wasn't brought up. Quinn thought that by moving in with Rachel she'd actually become closer to the woman, but Rachel was getting into crunch time with her Broadway show; there just wasn't enough time to be Quinn's girlfriend right now.

It's a Saturday morning, so Quinn was now sitting in the living room watching cartoons with Magnolia while Santana was making pancakes in the kitchen.

"Sanny, may I please have chocolate chip pancakes?" Lia yelled from her spot in Quinn's lap.

Santana walked through the doorway into the living room, "Bebe, please no yelling and of course I know you love chocolate chip pancakes." Santana smiled at her favorite little girl, then turned her attention to Quinn, "Is chocolate chip okay with you?"

"Sure. Thank you San," Quinn smiled and Santana returned it and continued making breakfast.

"Quinnie?" Lia said looking up to Quinn.

"Yes sweetie?"

"Are you my new mommy?"

Quinn was completely shocked and didn't know what to say. "W-Why would you say that?"

"Because my mommy is gone all the time now and you're not, so are you?"

"Magnolia, look at me," Quinn waited for the little girl to shift around so she was facing her, "just because I'm around more than your mommy doesn't mean I'm taking her place. She loves you so much and wants to be around as much as she used to be, but she is trying to be a big, big star to make us proud, okay?"

"Okay, Quinn," Lia wiggled her way out of Quinn's lap and made a beeline for the kitchen.

Quinn just laughed at the little girl's antics and took out her phone to check her text messages. She had three text messages, two from her best friends and one from the love of her life. Deciding to save the best for last, she opened the ones from her friends first:

Mercedes: Miss u so much girl! Let's go shopping soon… Got so much to tell you. I met someone :)

Quinn was happy for her friend and wanted to hear all about Mercedes's new boo. After texting back that they would talk at school, Quinn went to the next message.

Marley Rose: Hey Q, haven't heard from you in a while… Hope we are okay. Sorry if I was too forward or something. Maybe we could talk things out.

Quinn felt horrible for avoiding Marley. She knew the girl had a crush on her, but she didn't want to let her down, so avoiding her was the best solution. Quinn decided that she would just be Marley's friend, but nothing more. Quinn texted back:

Quinn: I'm so sorry for not talking to you in a while. I was just going through some things. How bout we do lunch around 2 today? I miss seeing you.

Quinn immediately got a response.

Marley Rose: It's totally okay! I miss seeing you too and yeah, that sounds great. See you at 2 :)

Quinn almost forgot she had a message from Rachel. She really missed not talking to Marley. To be completely honest, Rachel always hated for Quinn to talk to Marley, knowing that she had feelings for her girlfriend. Quinn shook her head then tapped on Rachel's name.

Rachel: Hey baby! Are you free this afternoon? We could go get some lunch together, I'm free around 1:30 :). Tell Lia I'll call her soon to tell her good morning. I love you, babe.

Quinn really wanted to go to lunch with Rachel, but she's with Rachel every night and hasn't talked to Marley in almost a month.

Quinn: Sorry baby, I already have lunch plans, maybe next time. I'll see you tonight. Love you more :)

Quinn locked her phone back and threw it on the couch and went in the kitchen with Magnolia and Santana.

"You were looking mighty busy," Santana quipped.

"Just responding to some messages, that's all. Oh and Lia, your mommy is going to Call you soon to tell you good morning."

"Okay," Lia said with chocolate all around her mouth.

Quinn smiled at the messy little girl and her and Santana shared a laugh.

"So Quinn, I was going to take Lia and her Madison to the children's paint place downtown and out to lunch later, you want to join?" Santana asked.

"Oh please, please come with us Quinn!" Lia yelled excitedly.

"Oh I wish I could baby girl, but I'm going to lunch with one of my friends."

"Mercedes? I miss that girl so much, she's awesome. Bring her along too." Santana suggested.

"No, I'm going to lunch with Marley."

"Isn't that the cute quiet girl who has a crush on you? Ms. Berry is not going to like this one bit."

"Marley and I are just friends and yes, she used to have a tiny crush on me, but I'm pretty sure she's over it now.

"Whatever you say, Fabray," Santana said.

"That rhymed!" Lia giggled, playing with the scraps on her plate. She obviously wasn't going to eat anymore.

"Alright, Mags, you're all done. Let's go get you in the bath." Santana lifted the girl out of her booster seat and put her on her hip. "Quinn, would you mind cleaning up the table?"

"Sure, I got it."

"Thanks," Santana smiled and then made her way upstairs.

Santana POV; Upstairs; Bath time

"Mags, you splash me one more time and I won't take you to paint today," Santana said sternly.

Magnolia pouted, but stopped splashing her aunt.

Santana continued washing out the little one's hair and her phone started ringing. She wiped off her hands on a towel beside her and picked up her phone, "Hey Rach."

"Good morning, Santana. What's up this morning?"

"Well, I made chocolate chip pancakes for all of us and now I'm bathing Lia."

"Oh good, put me on speaker so I can talk to her. I don't want her to drop your phone in the tub."

"Good idea. Lia, it's mommy."

"I know that when you said Rach. Hey mommy!"

"Hey baby girl, good morning! Did you sleep okay?"

"Yep!"

"Great! What are you, Aunt Sanny, and Quinn doing today?"

"Welllll me and Sanny and Madison are going painting and Quinn going on date with girl who crushes her."

Santana looked at Magnolia wide-eyed.

"Did I say something wrong," Lia asked with a frown when she saw Santana's expression and didn't hear her mom say anything.

"No baby, you said the right thing. I love you and I will se you when you get home and you can tell me all about your day!"

"Okay mommy, I love you too!"

Santana clicked off of speakerphone and held the phone to her ear.

"Rachel, it's not what it sounded like. Mags, misunderstood what Quinn and I said earlier."

"Santana Lopez you better explain this instant!"

Santana could almost hear Rachel stomping her foot. "I think you better talk to Quinn about this, but to be clear it's not a date. She's just going out to lunch with that Marley chick. Completely platonic."

"Okay San, well, thank you. Have fun with the kids today. Love you."

"Love you too, shorty." Santana hung up the phone and grabbed the towel so she could get Magnolia out of the tub.

"Sorry for telling mommy what you said."

"It's okay baby," Santana said hugging the towel-wrapped girl.

Quinn POV

Quinn finished cleaning up the kitchen, so now she was relaxing on the couch. Quinn opened her eyes when she heard someone running down the stairs. She looked up to see a frantic Santana carrying a naked child wrapped in a towel.

"What is your problem?" Right when Quinn asked that he phone started ringing.

"Do NOT answer that! It's Rachel and the kid here spilled about your outing with Marley. An outing that Mags here referred to as a date!"

"I said I was sorry!"

"I know, I know I just had to explain it to Quinn in a way she would understand," Santana said to Lia calmly.

"Oh God."

"Yeah, so good luck."

"Thanks for the warning."

Santana went back up the stairs, "anytime."

Quinn worked up some nerve and answered the phone, "Heyyy baby!"

"Knock it off, Quinn. I know you're going to lunch with Marley. I just thought we decided it was best if you two did not talk to each other."

"No Rachel, you decided that. Marley is still one of my best friends and I've been avoiding her for a month because of you."

"Well, I'm sorry for not wanting my girlfriend to go out with another woman who shows interest in her! Please, don't go out with her today."

"Rachel, it's not a date. I miss my friend that's it."

"Okay, Quinn you can do as you please. I guess I'll have to go to lunch with a friend who invited me out."

"If it's Sam I swear I'm not sleeping next to you tonight."

"In that case, I'll lay some blankets on the couch for you."

"You're taking this way too far, Rachel! You and Sam aren't even friends, Marley is my friend! I can't believe you always use him to rub it in my face. It's a damn shame that I've had to answer the door to be met with him when you were going on your date! A date, Rachel! A real date!"

"It wasn't a real date, Quinn and neither is today. I just don't want to eat lunch alone."

"Then buy a fucking dog! Go to lunch with Kurt! I don't care, it doesn't have to be with him."

"I'm not going to listen to you talk to me this way. You are seriously being so rude."

"And you're being a spiteful bitch!" Okay, Quinn knew that might've been a little too much, but it's the truth.

"Well, I'm sorry you feel that way. Goodbye."

Quinn was met with a dial tone before she could apologize. Rachel was obviously crying when she spoke and Quinn felt even worse than she already did. Quinn decided to call Kurt to check on her girlfriend.

"What did you say to her?"

"Look, Kurt, I was just really mad, okay? Just please let her know that I'm sorry."

"She doesn't want to hear it now. Just, give her some space. Oh and by the way, Sam is out sick today."

Kurt hung up with that being said and Quinn felt like jumping off a cliff. Quinn took out her phone to shoot off a quick text:

Quinn: I'm so sorry Marley, but something came up. Maybe we can go for lunch next week?

Quinn knew she needed to fix things with Rachel, so she ran upstairs to get ready and then she made her way to the theater.

Rachel POV

Rachel was in her dressing room getting her makeup redid after crying all of it off. She couldn't believe Quinn would say such hurtful things, but Quinn did have quite the temper.

Rachel was brought out of her thoughts when there was a knock at her door.

"Who is it?" Asking just in case it was Quinn.

"It's me." Rachel heard quietly, knowing that voice immediately.

"Go away, Quinn."

"No. I am so, so sorry for saying those horrible things to you."

"Yeah? Well it's too late for that."

"Please baby, let me in."

"Don't call me that." Rachel looked in the mirror and noticed her makeup artist Christine was looking at her.

"Ms. Berry I can give you guys some time. You really should talk to her." Christine packed up her makeup case and made her way out, not giving Rachel time to object.

"Rachel," Quinn tried.

"No Quinn, you always say these horrible things to me and then two seconds later you come crawling on your knees for forgiveness. It's exhausting."

"I know that, I really do, but you don't think I do the same?"

"Wow, this is one hell of an apology," Rachel scoffed.

Quinn walked into the dressing room and shut the door. "Rachel, we are going to feel anger towards each other a lot, okay? That's just how this relationship goes. But we can't dwell on that anger because we love each other too much. I mean, come on, how do you feel after you say something horrible to me?"

"Quinn, what's your point—" Quinn cuts Rachel off.

"How do you feel?" Quinn tried.

"I feel," Rachel sighs, "I feel like I can't lose you because I can't live without you."

"Exactly, and that's exactly how I feel right now. I can't lose you baby."

Rachel sat thinking for a while with her arms crossed. "Well… I guess I kind of was being a spiteful bitch." Rachel laughed a little.

"Just a little bit, but I still love you just the same," Quinn said with a small smile.

"I love you too."

"Forgive me?" Quinn says, pulling some roses from behind her back.

"Only if you forgive me for lying about Sam."

"See, I was so worried about losing you that I forgot you even lied about that."

"We are a mess. I feel like every time we talk to each other it ends up in a huge fight."

"Me too, so I have a solution," Quinn grabbed Rachel's hips and pulled her close so there lips were barely touching, "Let's not talk at all." Quinn closed the distance between them and took Rachel's bottom lip between her own. Rachel poked her tongue out and Quinn accepted it with a small moan and grabbed Quinn's ass.

"I love yo—" Quinn cut her off with a kiss.

"No" kiss. "talking" kiss.
