I was downstairs eating breakfast, just like any normal day with my best friends, when a body plopped right next to me, shaking the bench and making me spill the water I was drinking all over my shirt. I turned to give the culprit the Morgan Glare. When I turned I saw a certain smirking Goode sitting next to me.
"I think you got something there," he said pointing to my shirt.
"Really? I had no idea," I said sarcasm heavily lacing my voice. "Zach, why are you sitting here?"
"Just wanted to sit with my 'besties' so we could make up a strategy for the next challenge, so we can win. Which by the way, we have to win because if we don't, I kinda already told everyone we were going to."
Bex chimed in, "You're kidding right? Do you actually think that I am going to lose on the first challenge without teams. We have to prove we're a force to be reckoned with."
"Yeah, whatever Bex, so back to what I was saying," Zach said.
He didn't get to finish because Mr. Solomon was at the top of the stairs saying, "Class, you have one hour to be ready for your next challenge. For any of you who would like to know, it has to do with the use of your hand to hand combat."
I never even had the chance to finish listening to Zach because Macey pulled me up and dragged Liz and I up to her room with Bex in tow.
When we got to her room, she started frantically looking in her closet that was two times the size of everyone else's closet. "Macey, we have a whole hour to get ready," Liz whispered.
"Yes Liz, I know. That's why I'm in a hurry we have an hour," Macey snapped.
No one said a word after that, just put on what Macey threw at us and let her tug out all our hair and poke our faces with dangerous devices she calls "makeup." When she finished I was wearing black spandex, a grey tank top that cut really low, a hot pink sports bra, and tennis shoes. I was thinking, "Why did was she worried that it would take an hour to get this ready?" when Macey gasped.
"What?"
"Holy shit. I can't believe I did that. Oh, no no no no no no. This cannot be happening right now."
"What the bloody hell is wrong with you Macey?"
"Why didn't you guys tell me? Great and now it's too late to change. This is just fan-fucking-tabulous."
"Macey what's wrong?"
"It's too late. I'm just going to have to deal with it. Whatever. It's too late now. Let's just go guys," Macey said stomping out the door. I gave Bex the look that said what-the-fuck-just-happened and found her giving it to me too.
We started after her and we got to Mr. Solomon two minutes and twenty one seconds early. The other half of our group slipped in next to us while people started to filter in. No one said a thing to Macey about her mini explosion she just had, so we just left it at that. A mini explosion.
It was one hour on the dot when Mr. Solomon started talking even though some of us hadn't arrived yet, "Today, like I said earlier we will be focusing on our hand to hand combat."
He started walking into the forest, so we all started to follow him. I saw some people look like they wanted to mention that not everyone was here yet, but they kept their mouths shut knowing it would be very stupid to tell Mr. Solomon that. He obviously already knew that. He stopped in a clearing that was in a prefect circle with a red line along the edge
"This is where today's challenge will be taking place. We will be playing Kind of the Ring. You will all be in this ring and the last one to be standing in this circle wins. If for some reason you cross this line, you are out. Anything goes, just no weaponry of any kind. If you have anything other than yourself in the circle You will be kicked out, so I advise you give them up now." And I swear half of the people got out brass knuckles, tazers, stun guns, napotine patches and more.
Mr. Solomon was looking down at the pile by his feet and then giving all of us a questioning look. He sighed and said, "Now if you would all enter the ring, we will be starting in twenty seconds."
Zach and his group soon met up with us and we were standing just on the edge of the circle. You could see the groups all in their own slight clusters on the edge of the ring. An air horn blared and people started charging.
Before my group and I had decided to wait for the people to come to us, but Bex and Grant were obviously itching to join the action, and no only two people had come our way, so we abandoned the plan. Bex went at Blake while I was fighting him and kicked the back of his knee. His knees buckled and Bex kicked his spine so he would be paralyzed for five minutes.
Bex turned around to round house kick Tina, but she easily dodged it and punched Bex in the face. Bex punched her in the gut and did the Manuel Maneuver on her and Tina was laying flat on her back outside of the ring. I smiled and left Bex, she seemed to be doing fine by herself.
I went over to Liz a few feet away getting demolished by Chase. She had a bluish bruise forming on her cheek and was standing in a way that showed her ankle was in pain. I tapped Chase on the shoulder and executed the Cordekai Maneuver perfectly. "Thanks Cam, but I had him you know," Liz said.
"Yeah Liz, I know you did. You are obviously in pain, so I am telling you to walk out of this ring right now and get off of your ankle."
She looked like she really wanted to stay, but she knew I was right and limped out of the circle to go sit down. I watched her the whole way and that unfortunately lead to me being tackled from behind by Danielle.
I rolled over so I was looking up at her. She pinned my arms with her knees. She was punching me on my face and sides and all I could do was kick around. I kneed her in the butt and she slightly flinched giving me the opening I needed to flip her off of me and stand back up. She stood up too.
She did a round house kick, which I blocked and punched her side. I tried to sweep her legs out from under her, but she dodged it. I was flipped onto my side and a shooting pain ran up my arm. She tried to pin me again, but I flipped us over and pinned her instead. I had a small trail of blood running from my nose and I'm pretty sure I was going to have a black eye tomorrow.
I stared down at her and we stayed that way, staring at each other breathing heavily with sweat dripping down our faces. I pushed a vein in her shoulder and she was locked out. I got off of her and pulled her out of the circle.
I was so tired and I don't think I could have been much use to my team, so I walked myself out of the circle. Liz ran up to me with concern all over her face.
"Cammie! Are you okay? Oh my gosh what happened to your arm?"
I looked down and saw a large cut on it. "It's nothing Liz. It happens I'm fine I promise."
"Fine, but I'm going to get stuff to bandage it." I nodded half heartedly as I watched the rest of the match go on.
Bex was kicking ass and it looked like she was having the time of her life. Grant and Zach were currently taking down like 3 people at once. Macey was clawing anyone who came close enough, and let me just say her nails are sharp.
Liz and Jonas came over with a first aid kit. I cringed as Liz washed out the cut with alcohol. I tried to focus on what was happening in front of me. I laughed as Macey started on a rampage after someone broke her nail. I couldn't see who she was after, but she was not happy.
Liz said she was done after a few minutes and I looked down at my arm. My bicep was wrapped with white gauze and like three other layers of bandages. I smiled and said, "Thank you."
Mr. Solomon soon declared the challenge as over because Bex, Grant, and Zach refused to fight each other. I walked over to the rest my group with Liz, Jonas, and Macey. "And you thought we needed to plan," Bex teased Zach.
"Way to go guys," Liz said excitedly.
We all started talking as we walked back to camp, but Zach kept on staring at my arm. I stopped and pretended that I needed to tie my shoe and told them I would catch up. Zach stuck around.
"Zach, I'm a big girl I can be alone for two minutes," I told him annoyed.
"I know," he replied, still staring at my arm.
"Do you have a problem?" He looked at me questioningly, so I continued on, "Because you are staring at my arm like I've been shot. It's just a cut I'm fine."
"Is it illegal to make sure someone's okay?"
"Well it is if hey don't ask and they just keep staring like it is lethal when it totally isn't."
"Why do you have a problem with me caring that you're hurt."
"Because⦠I just do," was my brilliant response. "I'm fine, let's just go."
I started to walk away, but he grabbed my hand and pulled me back. He was staring straight into my eyes as if trying to see if I was telling the truth. I rolled my eyes and said, "What the hell are you doing?"
"Just so you know Gallagher Girl, I'm going to kiss you now," he whispered. His warm breath hit my face and sent chills down my spine.
I let my eyes close as he leaned in. Our lips met and it was the greatest feeling I've ever felt.
"What am I doing?" I thought. When we broke apart he was staring into my eyes again and I was staring back into his beautiful green eyes. There was this pit in my stomach like I was betraying Danielle by kissing him. And I really wanted to again. I really wanted to.
I didn't know what to do, so I turned and ran. I know it was stupid, I know I shouldn't have, but I did. I ran to catch up with my friends. I didn't know how to deal with it. There was Josh and there was Danielle, but then there was Zach and what I thought. And I think I really did like him.
There's the chapter. Hope you all liked it. Review and all that.
So here's the dealio. When I started writing this, I didn't have a plan, I kinda just wrote as ideas popped into my head. I've been getting like really confused with where I want to take this and I have come to the conclusion that I am going to write around 2-4 more chapters and finish this story. I just don't kno what to do with this anymore, and I've kind of lost my groove with writing it. I'm so sorry. But I am going to start another one once I end this one, and hopefully it will actually work out.
That's it for now, Review and hopefully I will get the next chapter out soon.
