January 28

JFK International Airport, New York City

Danielle sighed heavily as she trudged into the airport and she immediately sighed, very tired and hungry after travelling on a late night flight. The sun was just beginning to rise and she had only been allowed to carry her purse off the plane at Maurice's insistence for her to be careful.

What Danielle didn't expect to see, however, was to see Kim and Jimmy lingering not far from the gate looking tired, but happy. As Kim approached, Danielle suddenly burst into tears and as she quietly cried into Kim's shoulder, Bosco came out of the gate carrying two carry-on bags while John, David, and Ellie carried backpacks. Bosco frowned at Danielle's sudden breakdown.

"I'm sorry, I'm so tired," Danielle replied shakily as she pulled away from Kim. "I'm okay now."

Kim nodded and Danielle sighed heavily as she walked over to a food kiosk that wasn't too far from the gate, "My mom's kind of sad, so sorry if you think she's being rude," John spoke up softly as he walked over to a row of plastic chairs and sat down. "A lot of stuff happened."

Just then, Sully came out of the gate with Yelina, who had been pleased at the opportunity to come to New York for a brief vacation since Rick was now living with Bobby, "Sully, who's your friend?" Kim asked in an intrigued voice, noting that Sully was holding hands with the woman.

"This is Yelina Salas, a detective from Miami," Sully replied calmly. "Yelina's here for a visit."

Yelina smiled, "I'm Kim Doherty and this is my husband, Jimmy," Kim said in a warm voice.

Bosco looked over towards the food kiosk and suddenly noticed that Danielle was crying and trying to turn away so that nobody would see her, "Excuse me," he said in a worried voice.

John sighed and nervously wiped his eyes, but said nothing, "You threw your breakfast away, didn't you?" Sully asked, noticing how pale John was. "You can't be skipping meals over this."

Shrugging, John looked down at his hands, "I have no appetite this morning," he replied softly.

"Were you eavesdropping on your Mom and I, John?" Bosco asked in a concerned voice, quickly realizing that John was upset over Danielle having to return in a few months to testify.

Nodding, John got up and walked over to the food kiosk, swiftly ordering a giant muffin before anyone could ask him why he had skipped breakfast. Danielle immediately noticed and started talking to both John and the kiosk attendant, prompting both Sully and Kim to chuckle.

"Mothers always know when their kids haven't eaten," Sully observed softly. "Always."

Kim watched as Danielle suddenly grabbed hold of John, who had turned very pale and looked in shock, and escorted him over to the chairs. She sat him down and started talking softly to him while feeding him pieces of the muffin and sips from a plastic cup filled with apple juice.

"Do we need to call an ambulance?" Kim asked in a concerned voice as she looked at Bosco.

Bosco shook his head, "Edward Addison died when we were down there and he was shot in self-defense after he tried to kill us during one of John's interviews," he replied bluntly.

Kim's eyes widened in shock, "What?" she asked in a shocked voice. "Who shot him?"

"Emily Wolfe," Sully spoke quietly. "She has the authority under Victims Assistance to use a firearm in situations where clients of the organization end up in life-threatening situations."

David suddenly yawned, "I wanna go home and go to bed," he said in a semi-whiny voice.

Bosco nodded and put his arms around David and Ellie, "I'm going to take David and Ellie to get the luggage," he said calmly. "When we come back, maybe John and Danielle will be ready."

Concerned about Danielle and John, Sully walked over to them and Yelina followed, prompting Kim and Jimmy to give each other worried looks as Bosco led David and Ellie down the hallway.

Coconut Grove - Miami, Florida

"You both look amazing," Bobby spoke softly, smiling at Horatio and Marisol as he slowly hobbled into the backyard where the wedding would take place and saw his uncle in a tuxedo while Marisol wore a simple white dress and white heels. "I'm glad you're finally doing this."

Horatio smiled and hugged Bobby before helping him sit in one of the few chairs that had been set up for the occasion. Marisol hugged Bobby gently as Horatio walked up to the wedding arch that they had rented for the occasion and whispered to the priest that was going to officiate.

"You look nice," Marisol commented as she fixed Bobby's collar. "Are you feeling okay?"

Bobby sighed, "I'm tired and a little sore, but this day is important to my uncle," he replied in a kind voice, smiling as Emily came into the yard wearing a long sundress with sleeves and sandals while her thinning hair sat in a ponytail at the base of her neck. "Emily, how are you?"

"Oh, I'm hanging in there," Emily replied softly. "I'm here to celebrate my friend's wedding."

Bobby nodded, "Rick's going to stay inside and watch BJ, Adam, and Lenny during the ceremony," he spoke softly. "Uncle Horatio invited him, but he didn't want to come out."

Nodding, Emily patted Bobby's shoulder, "Do you mind if I get something to drink from your kitchen?" she asked softly. "I had a treatment two days ago and I'm feeling a bit nauseous."

"Of course," Bobby replied kindly. "There's some cold tea in the fridge that you can use."

Nodding her thanks, Emily went into the kitchen and as she opened the fridge, she heard a cough from the office just off the kitchen, "Here's your mother, Lenny," she heard Rick say in an anxious voice. "Do you want me to stay while you talk to her or do you want me to go out?"

"I want you to stay, Daddy," Lenny spoke softly. "Hi there, Mommy."

There was a long silence, "Mommy, I'm gonna go downstairs," Lenny's voice spoke.

Emily silently listened as Lenny went downstairs to the playroom and sighed, "...Catherine, don't start with me on that," Rick's upset voice spoke. "He hasn't seen you since he was very little and he's still recovering from his kidnapping. You are the one who chose to leave with Lindsey and go to Vegas. I'm not going to force Lenny to talk to you as a son should..."

"...Now you listen to me, Catherine, I have done everything I can to try and get Lindsey back from Brazil," Emily suddenly heard Rick say in an angry voice. "Bernard took her and he was threatening my life ever since. I don't even know if he keeps in contact with Memmo and I have no desire to find out. Why can't you just focus on getting better so you can visit your son?"

Emily silently got the pitcher of tea from the fridge and poured herself with a glass from the small pile of dishes that were in the rack. As she drank the tea, Rick came into the kitchen.

"Here for the wedding?" Rick asked, acting as if nothing was wrong. "You look nice."

Emily nodded and sighed tiredly, "Oh, the Chief wants to give you rank in the department and a service award for how you handled the Edward Addison incident," Rick continued quietly.

"A rank and a service award?" Emily asked in a confused voice. "I'm not even a cop anymore."

Rick sighed, "You're getting your degree soon or do you already have it?" he asked calmly.

"I finished the bookwork in December and the University decided to count all the work I did in New York and Miami for the PD as practical work," Emily replied softly. "I'm certified."

Rick nodded, "There will be a formal ceremony sometime next month," he replied calmly.

Emily sighed as she put the tea away just as Eric came into the kitchen in a suit and tie, "Officer Delko," she said in a formal voice, peering outside. "It looks like they're getting ready to start."

Even though he was surprised by Emily's formal tone and greeting, Eric nodded and followed Emily outside so they could serve as witnesses for the wedding, leaving Rick in the kitchen.

Manhattan, New York

Danielle sighed wearily as she, Bosco, John, David, Ellie, Kim, and Jimmy came into the apartment that the Boscorelli family shared. Her father and Detective Salas had gone to his apartment by themselves because they wanted to spend some quality time together.

Even though she still had to put her things away and help her family put things away, Danielle immediately settled herself on the couch with a pillow behind her back, "I apologize, but all the walking and sitting in the car made me sore," she explained softly. "I just need a moment."

"I'll get some of those pain pills from your suitcase," Bosco said as he carried their bags to their bedroom and tossed them on the bed. "Just sit there and relax as much as you can, all right?"

Kim frowned and Danielle sighed, "I was assaulted by a drunk down there and I have to return to Miami in a few months to testify at his trial," Danielle explained softly. "The baby's fine."

"But you're not," Kim replied in a concerned voice. "Do you need to go to the doctor?"

Danielle shook her head and sighed heavily as Bosco came back to her side with a water bottle and a small bottle of pills, "Doctor Loman said that the painkillers wouldn't hurt the baby," he said in a calming voice as he offered her the bottle of water and the pills. "One will help."

As Danielle took a painkiller, John yawned, "I'm beat," he confessed softly. "Can I have a nap?"

"I think that's a very good idea," Danielle replied softly. "Kim, I'm terrible company today."

Kim sighed, "Can we get you guys some groceries?" she offered. "I have the time today."

Danielle was silent for a moment as John, David, and Ellie picked up their bags and went off to their rooms to unpack and rest and then she began to cry softly. Kim and Jimmy exchanged a look, but Bosco silently climbed on to the couch and gently pulled his crying wife against him.

Miami, Florida

Swallowing hard, Jenny Wolfe silently entered the Speedle Family Restaurant and gripping her resume in her hand, she looked around and immediately felt safe. She had quit her job at Club Cruz after Jenessa's death and was now trying to look for a job in a more respectable place.

"You know what to say to customers, right?" she heard a voice ask from the back of the restaurant. "You've never done hosting before and I want to make sure you've got it…"

There was a scoff, "I've got it, Timmy, don't worry," a younger voice said calmly. "Okay?"

Jenny looked nervous as two men came out of the back; the older one was wearing khakis and a dress shirt while the younger one was wearing a suit, "Hi, welcome to the Speedle Family Restaurant," Tony said in a nervous voice. "My name is Tony Speedle and I'll be your host…"

"Hi, my name is Jenny and I saw the help wanted ad in the paper," Jenny replied kindly.

Tim raised an eyebrow, but took Jenny's resume, "Jenny Wolfe?" he asked calmly.

"Yes sir," Jenny replied nervously. "I don't know if you know my aunt or uncle at all?"

Tim skimmed the resume, "Are you related to Ryan or Emily Wolfe?" he asked calmly.

"My dad…he shoved some woman at McDonald's and is now on house arrest until his hearing," Jenny stuttered, tears in her eyes. "He wants me to move home, but I don't want to…"

Tim frowned as Jenny struggled to compose herself, "I'm staying with my mom and my brothers at a rental," Jenny explained softly. "I was just hoping to get a decent job to help out."

"My dad owns the place, but I do have authority to give applicants a chance," Tim replied calmly, seeing that Jenny was scared. "Why don't I give you a few days trial period?"

Jenny nodded, deeply relieved, "When can I start?" she asked in a pleasant voice.

"I can show you how to clean the kitchen and stuff," Tony volunteered in a cheerful voice.

Tim nodded, "That's a good place to start, Tony," he replied calmly. "Jenny, go help Tony."

Tony nodded and led Jenny into the kitchen while Tim made a note about the potential new hire in the staff book. He would update their father on the new hire when he came in later.

Manhattan, New York

"…Grandma, are you going to stay for dinner?"

Danielle groaned as she heard the blender and opened her eyes, surprised when she saw a blanket draped over her and a pillow underneath her back. She slowly sat up and was pleasantly surprised when she saw Maurice's mother in the kitchen with John, David and Ellie.

"Rose, hi," Danielle replied in a groggy voice. "I'm sorry. I didn't know you were coming…"

Rose smiled, "Maurice just went to the market and while we're waiting for him to get back, I'm making fruit smoothies with David and Ellie," she replied in a gentle voice. "John's supervising."

"Did you want any help?" Danielle asked tiredly. "I feel bad you coming here and doing…"

Rose chuckled, "You're giving me another grandchild, darling," she replied cheerfully as she poured the contents of the blender into several glasses. "You're doing plenty for everyone."

Danielle sighed softly, "I have to go back in a month or two because..," she started shakily.

"Maurice told me," Rose replied quickly. "Just worry about it then and not before, okay?"

Nodding, Danielle slowly stood up and walked into the kitchen, immediately noticing the pile of mail on the counter. She sifted through it, separating bills from mail that was more personal.

"John, your GED results came," Danielle said, holding out a large envelope. "Here you go."

John took the envelope, but didn't open it, "How did you do on your big test, John?" Ellie asked, knowing John took a really big school test earlier that year. "Are you gonna be done school?"

"Open the envelope, dude," David commented softly. "You either passed or you didn't."

John paused and slowly opened it, being completely silent as he skimmed over the results, "Well?" Danielle asked in a gentle voice as the door opened and Bosco came in loaded down with bags of groceries and with Sully and Yelina at his heels. "How did you do on the test?"

"Um, I…" John spoke hesitantly, unable to believe what he was reading. "I…I did very well."

Yelina frowned in confusion, "What?" she asked in a confused voice. "What is going on?"

"John got his GED results," Danielle replied in a gentle voice. "John, how did you do?"

John sighed, "2800," he replied in a quiet voice. "I…uh…got honors scores on the test."

Gasps of surprise filled the room as the paper was passed around for everyone to see.

"Oh, John, you're such a smart young man," Danielle said brightly, hugging John gently.

Bosco's eyes widened as he, Sully, and Yelina looked at the paper, "I…I don't think I could be a cop like Dad because of my diabetes, but I might want to help people," John commented.

"Oh, you could probably go to any school you wanted," Yelina spoke in a kind voice.

John nodded, "I'm 16, though, so I might do some school in New York for a while so I can stay close to my family," he replied kindly. "They have nice schools with good courses here."

"New York University is a good school," Sully suggested. "It's still early enough to apply."

John sighed, "I might apply after I give my statement at the NYPD," he replied softly.

"That's just in a week or so," Danielle commented softly. "Have you checked your sugar?"

Shaking his head, John shrugged, "I'll check it soon," he replied softly. "I feel fine."

"Ooh, it's snowing outside!" Ellie announced as she ran over to the window. "Cool!"

Danielle smiled, "Help your dad put away the groceries, kids, and THEN you can watch the snow," she said in a kind voice. "Dad, Yelina, Rose, would you like to stay for supper?"

"Actually, Yelina and I are going to go out for supper and spend some time by ourselves," Sully replied in a quiet voice, not wanting anyone to know that Yelina was hurting over Ray Jr. and needed some one-to-one time with him. "We'll come by for breakfast tomorrow, okay?"

Danielle nodded and frowned as David suddenly wheezed in an attempt to giggle at his grandfather's behavior. She immediately got up off the couch and walked over to the closet where she and Maurice kept old paramedic and first aid supplies in case of emergencies.

David began to cough and immediately ran to the bathroom, unable to stop when Danielle followed him and he actually ended up throwing up. Danielle silently drew a bath and closed the door. For the next several minutes, everyone heard Danielle talking gently to David.

"Maurice, can you get some clean clothes for David, please?" Danielle called from the bathroom in a concerned voice, prompting Bosco to immediately do as she asked.

A few moments later, David was redressed and laying on the couch under the blanket while Danielle silently took his vitals and listened to his chest, "Mom, I just want to rest today," David said quietly, giving her a look. "It's snowing and I really don't wanna go to see any doctors."

"Tough, kiddo," Danielle replied firmly. "I think I'm going to make a call for the paramedics."

David sighed, but didn't argue, "It's probably because of what happened in Miami," Danielle commented softly, watching as Bosco put the groceries away and then got on the phone.

Miami, Florida

The reception was in full swing and Horatio found himself watching as Eric and Marisol shared a very touching sibling dance among the others who were dancing. Emily had left shortly after the ceremony for a chemotherapy session, but she had stayed to be in pictures with Marisol.

Sighing happily, Horatio got up from the head table and wandered into the house to check on Bobby, Rick, and the kids because Bobby had slipped into the house shortly after photos had been taken and hadn't been seen since. He saw Rick at the kitchen table with Lenny, BJ, and Adam and a pile of sandwiches and glasses of milk, but Bobby was nowhere to be found.

"Where is Bobby at?" Horatio asked in a concerned voice. "I hope he is all right?"

BJ looked up at Horatio, "Daddy went upstairs," he replied softly. "I think he was tired."

Nodding, Horatio left the kitchen and climbed the stairs, surprised when he found Bobby sitting at the desk in his office, silently reading something on his computer. Bobby sighed tiredly.

"Bobby, are you feeling all right?" Horatio asked in a worried voice. "BJ said you were up here."

Bobby nodded, "I'm a little tired, but I wanted to check my email because I am resuming the online studies I started before Amanda insisted I needed a consistent job," he replied in a kind voice, smiling at his uncle. "Before I left New York, I got information concerning my experience and sent it into Miami-Dade University to see what my past schooling and police work equal."

"Really?" Horatio asked in a surprised voice as he sat down at the desk. "Why exactly?"

Bobby sighed, "After my experience with Uncle Ray, I realized that I've got to have a backup plan in case something happens to me," he replied softly. "I'll continue to work once I'm well enough to go back to work, but I am on paid medical leave, so I am going to take my time."

Horatio nodded and Bobby yawned, "I only need a semester's worth of work, so I might see if I can do that while I'm recuperating," Bobby spoke softly. "Oh, I'm sorry, Uncle Horatio…"

"Why don't you get some rest?" Horatio replied softly. "I can wake you for supper."

Bobby sighed tiredly, "That might be a good idea," he replied softly, grabbing his crutches.

Horatio watched as Bobby stood up and then followed his nephew to the bedroom, watching attentively as Bobby sat on the bed and set his crutches against his nightstand before pulling himself into his high bed without even removing his slipper. Horatio gently tucked him in.

"Thank you," Bobby whispered as he closed his eyes and succumbed to a needed sleep.

Nodding, Horatio gently kissed Bobby's forehead and silently left the quiet bedroom.

Manhattan, New York

"David, wake up," David heard Bosco's gentle voice say. "The paramedics are here."

David groaned, but opened his eyes and was surprised to see Carlos and Grace standing beside the couch with their gear, "Hi there, Uncle Carlos," he spoke weakly. "I don't feel good today."

Carlos nodded and sat on the couch, "Yeah, Bosco told us that," he replied gently. "What's up?"

"My chest got hurt when I was in Miami and I wheezed today," David replied softly. "I'm tired."

Carlos sighed as David sat up, "I don't wanna go to the doctor because it's snowing," he replied softly, frowning as he saw Bosco sitting at the table with Rose. "Dad, where is everyone?"

"John's in your guys's room, Ellie's in hers, and your Mom's on the phone in our bedroom trying to see if Miami can send your medical records up here," Bosco replied calmly. "Your grandpa and Detective Salas went out for supper, but they said they wouldn't be gone very long."

David nodded, "David, I'm going to listen to your chest, all right?" Carlos asked as he held up a stethoscope. "Can you lift your shirt for me and breathe when I tell you to breathe, please?"

David did as he was told and then immediately laid back down, "It hurts less when I lie down," he spoke softly, a frown on his face. "Do I really have to go to the hospital and sleep there?"

"I think a trip to the hospital would be a good idea," Bosco replied calmly. "It would help."

David scoffed, but nodded just as Danielle came out of the master bedroom, "Uncle Carlos said I have to go to the hospital," he spoke quietly. "I just wanna lay here on the couch and sleep."

"David, the hospital has medicine that will help you feel better," Danielle replied gently as she walked over to the couch and sat down. "Did you want Dad and me to go with you?"

David sighed, "Ellie's gonna freak out if both of you come and John's gonna get mad at me," he replied softly, not looking at either of his parents. "I don't want to take all the attention."

"John can stay with Ellie til your grandpa gets back," Danielle replied softly. "At least I am…"

Bosco sighed, "I'm coming too," he replied calmly. "Carlos, is there room in the ambulance?"

"Yeah, we can make room," Carlos replied calmly. "Can you rest while we get the gurney?"

David nodded and Danielle gently rubbed his feet while Carlos and Grace left to get the gurney, but Bosco went into John's room to talk to him about watching Ellie while they were gone.

Miami-Dade University Hospital

Emily groaned softly as she felt a blanket being placed over her body as she lay on the hospital bed, sleeping as she underwent chemotherapy, "Mmm?" she called out in a groggy voice.

"It's just me," Tim said in a quiet voice, frowning as she opened her eyes. "Are you okay?"

Emily sighed, "My body gets too stiff if I do chemo in a chair," she replied sleepily. "Join me?"

Nodding, Tim climbed on the bed beside Emily and smiled as she huddled close to him, "You're safe and warm for me," she spoke in a tired voice, gazing up at him. "I've grown to love you."

"I know and I love you too," Tim spoke softly. "I was thinking…how important you are to me."

Emily nodded, "I don't have a ring, Emily, but I can give you my heart," Tim spoke softly.

"I accept," Emily replied softly, smiling tiredly. "I'm going to be happy as your wife, Tim."

Tim nodded and Emily yawned, prompting Tim to gently kiss her forehead, "I want to adopt James and Julliet as my own when we get married," he spoke softly. "Is that okay with you?"

"I'm delighted," Emily replied tiredly as she fought to stay awake. "Timmy, I'm getting tired."

Nodding, Tim climbed off the bed and pulled a chair close so he could stay with Emily, chuckling softly when Emily fell asleep with a hand extended towards him. He gently took her hand, determined to stay with her through times that were both good and bad.

Downtown Miami

"Thank you for the ride home, Mister Speedle," Jenny said in a kind voice as Anthony parked his car in front of the apartment where Jenny now lived with her mother and brothers.

Anthony smiled, "You're quite welcome, Miss Wolfe," he replied. "Do you like your schedule?"

Jenny nodded and Tony smiled at her, "Jenny, did you want to get some coffee sometime?" Tony asked in a nervous voice. "You seem really nice and we could talk for a bit."

"That would be very nice, Tony," Jenny replied softly. "We'll talk at work tomorrow."

Just then, the front door opened and a woman wearing a sundress came out, "Mom, this is my boss, Anthony Speedle, and his younger son, Tony," Jenny said kindly. "I got a new job."

"You did?" the woman replied, smiling. "Hello there, my name is Diana Wolfe."

Jenny smiled as she got out of the car, "Jenny, your Uncle Ryan's here to visit you, Jason, and Emilio," Diana said in a kind voice, smiling at Jenny. "Where is your workplace at?"

"It's a family restaurant in Calle Ocho," Jenny replied cheerfully. "Thanks, Mr. Speedle.

Anthony smiled and drove off while Jenny followed her mother into the building. When they got into the apartment, Jenny was surprised to see Ryan sitting at the kitchen table with a female detective while Jason and Emilio sat in the living room playing a board game.

"Jenny, how are you doing?" Ryan asked kindly. "Are you taking care of yourself?"

Jenny nodded, "Jason, why don't you take Emilio to the arcade?" Diana suggested softly.

"Sure," Jason replied as he stood up and helped Emilio up. "Come on, Emilio."

Once Jason and Emilio were gone, Diana silently went into her office and Jenny, the female detective, and Ryan settled themselves on the couches in the living room, "Jenny, I'm Detective Sevilla," Detective Sevilla said in a calm voice. "When your uncle talked to me, he mentioned you might be more comfortable with a female detective given the circumstances. Am I right?"

Jenny nodded and sighed as Detective Sevilla took out a tape recorder and turned it on before setting it on the table, "Would you like to tell us what happened after your father was arrested for assaulting Danielle and David Sullivan at the downtown McDonald's?" Detective Sevilla asked in a concerned voice. "We've already got a statement from your little brother."

"I went with Mom to the jail to pick Emilio up," Jenny replied quietly. "Jason stayed home."

Silence filled the room and Jenny sighed, "They let Dad out the next day when he was sober and he came home to find Mom packing things and helping Jason and Emilio pack," she explained in a shaky voice. "I didn't live there, but I was there helping with packing. Dad wanted to know what was going on and Mom said that they were leaving. Dad went ballistic and asked if I was in on it, as I was only living on my own because he was paying for it. Things got really bad…"

Jenny suddenly swallowed and did a quick breathing exercise, "Mom left with Jason and Emilio and I went back to my apartment," she continued softly. "I started getting calls from Clavo after that and he said I'd better come help my dad and come back to the club or else I was fired. I told Clavo that I quit Club Cruz and to leave me alone. I've been staying here ever since."

"Jenny, you need to get your stuff out of there," Ryan said calmly. "I can help you with that."

Jenny nodded and Detective Sevilla shut off the tape recorder, "Can we go do that right now, Uncle Ryan?" she asked in a nervous voice. "I just want to be back with my mom and brothers."

"I'd rather do it when more police can be there," Ryan replied cautiously. "You know?"

Jenny nodded and sighed, "I've got enough clothes for a few days and I have to work tomorrow anyway," she replied softly. "Mom's filing for divorce and sole custody of Jason and Emilio."

"Would you like police protection?" Detective Sevilla asked calmly. "For you and your family?"

Jenny looked uncertain and sighed as Diana came out into the living room, "Mom, do we need police protection?" Jenny asked in a concerned voice. "I'm worried about Dad's friends."

"Your father is on house arrest, but I too worry about his friends," Diana replied softly.

Detective Sevilla nodded, "We'll assign a ghost car to your house," she replied reassuringly.

Diana smiled, "Thank you," she replied gently. "Ryan, thank you for arranging this."

Ryan nodded and stood up with Detective Sevilla, "I think I'm going to spend some time with my children," Diana said in a tired voice, putting an arm around Jenny. "Thank you."

As Ryan and Detective Sevilla left, they were unaware that they were being watched from a café across the street where Dr. Price had taken Bernard for fresh air. Bernard immediately recognized Ryan and was confused as to why he was at some nice downtown condos.

Dr. Price had gone to get them more tea, so Bernard quickly pulled out his cell-phone.

Manhattan, New York

"Asthma?" Danielle asked in a concerned voice as she sat on the gurney, holding a semi-asleep David, who was now wearing a gown over his sweats in her lap. "Are you absolutely sure?"

Dr. Fields nodded, "The chest trauma David had in Miami weakened his lungs and medication will help, but he'll have to be on it for years," he replied calmly. "Most likely forever."

Danielle nodded and David sighed sleepily, "I wanna go home," he whimpered softly.

"David, I want to keep you here in the emergency room overnight for observation just to be safe," Dr. Fields replied in a kind voice as David shuffled on to the gurney. "Your parents can stay with you tonight if you want, but I think this is the best thing for you right now."

Mumbling sleepily, David closed his eyes and Danielle pulled the blanket up to cover more of him and then made sure the IV's and bronchodilator were secure in David's hands so that he could sleep without issues, "Are you going back to work yet, Danielle?" Dr. Fields asked.

"I can only do administrative things right now and I can do that from home," Danielle replied in a kind voice. "I decided to switch to administrative work for a while because of the baby."

Dr. Fields nodded and smiled as Bosco came into the area from the lounge, "Officer Boscorelli, David's going to be fine," he said in a calm voice, seeing Bosco's concerned look. "He does, however, have asthma and will need an inhaler. I'm also keeping him overnight so he can rest."

Bosco nodded and sighed as he looked at Danielle, "Sully and Detective Salas got back and John told them what was going on," he replied calmly. "I said we're both going to stay here tonight."

Danielle nodded and yawned, "Doctor Fields, could you please ask a nurse to get a cot for my wife?" Bosco asked in a concerned voice. "I don't think she should have to sleep in a chair."

"I'll get someone to bring Danielle a cot," Dr. Fields replied, pleased with Bosco's caring nature.

Bosco nodded and walked over to Danielle, "Did you want to try and get some sleep?" he asked in a concerned voice, gently rubbing her shoulders as he spoke. "I can stay up for a while."

"Oh, I might once there's someplace to lie down," Danielle replied softly, sighing sleepily.

Bosco sighed and frowned as tears appeared in Danielle's eyes, "What?" he asked softly.

"All these bad things happening to the kids," Danielle whispered. "It makes me remember…"

Her expression sad, Danielle looked at the floor, "I'm sorry, Maurice," she whispered.

Bosco sighed and gently helped Danielle to her feet, "It's okay," he spoke softly, drawing her into a warm embrace. "You've had to go through a lot in the last several months, hon."

Danielle sighed as she cuddled herself against Bosco, "Mrs. Boscorelli," Mary Proctor suddenly said in a kind voice as she walked over to them with a cot in hand. "Here's a cot for you."

"Oh, Mary, thank you," Danielle replied as Mary set the cot up next to David's bed.

Mary nodded and left, allowing Danielle to lie down on the cot, "Get some rest, Danielle," Bosco spoke gently as he sat in the chair. "I'll keep an eye on David while you sleep."

Danielle nodded and closed her eyes while Bosco turned his attention to David.

Coral Gables

The sound of the doorbell caused Tommy Wolfe to swear loudly and throw an empty bottle at the door as it opened, revealing a well-dressed Clavo. Clavo's eyes widened at the sight of Tommy wearing sweats, slippers, and a dress shirt while sitting in a chair looking sick.

"What do you want, Clavo?" Tommy snapped drunkenly. "I paid up on my bar tab!"

Clavo nodded as he entered the house, "I heard on the news that you got arrested for beating up Danielle Boscorelli and one of her kids," he replied gruffly. "Why did you do that?"

"I was just trying to watch Emilio play!" Tommy slurred angrily. "Now I'm on house arrest!"

Clavo flinched as he closed the door and stepped over the glass, "Now, I've gotta go to trial over that dumb broad I pushed and she's gonna come all the way from New York to tell the cops that I shoved her!" Tommy ranted angrily, not moving from his comfy chair.

"Wait, Danielle Boscorelli is coming to Miami?" Clavo asked in an intrigued voice.

Tommy scoffed, "Forget it, Clavo," he replied drunkenly. "Her husband's a crazy cop."

"Pfft," Clavo scoffed. "I dealt with John and Ellie, so I can take on a New York slug."

Tommy scoffed again and got up out of his chair, swearing drunkenly as he stumbled into the kitchen to the counter where a pile of mail sat, "Diana asked me for a divorce," he slurred, holding up a large manila envelope as Clavo entered the kitchen. "And full custody of the kids."

"Wow," Clavo replied, scoffing as his cell-phone started buzzing. "I'd…I'd better take this."

Tommy swore and began to drunkenly sift through the mail as Clavo entered his phone, "Hello?" Clavo asked in a nervous voice, frowning when he heard Bernard. "Bernie…"

Clavo went silent as Bernard explained that he had seen Jenny Wolfe be dropped at an apartment in downtown Miami and shortly thereafter, Ryan and a female detective had come out of the same building, "Really?" Clavo replied anxiously. "That…that's interesting."

Clavo flinched as Bernard snipped at his inability to keep employees because he always made them uncomfortable and asked about where Jenny's father was, as Tommy's face was all over the news and newspapers, "Tommy Wolfe's here, but he's drinking really, really heavily…"

At that moment, Tommy snatched the phone from Clavo, "I'm going to kill my brother for turning my daughter and the rest of my family against me," Tommy slurred in a high-pitched voice as he glared at Clavo. "It's bad enough that he's helping my worthless sister out."

Clavo's eyes widened as Tommy dropped the phone and he passed out on the floor, "Bernard, that drunken fool snatched the phone from me," Clavo explained anxiously as he picked up the phone and walked over to the fridge. "He's really having a hard time without his family."

There was a silence as Bernard insisted that Ryan needed to be followed so that Tommy would know when to talk to his daughter. Bernard also ordered that Tommy get sobered up fast.

"I can't believe my daughter blabbed to police," Tommy moaned from the floor. "Traitor!"

Clavo sighed as Bernard ended the call, saying that he needed to go home and rest and that Dr. Price needed to take him, "Come on, Tommy boy, Bernie said you've gotta sober up," Clavo said, stuffing the phone in his pocket as he walked over to where Tommy lay. "Come ON!"

Tommy groaned as Clavo forced him to stand up and escorted him upstairs to the bathroom that had a shower, "Dude, get OFF!" Tommy slurred as he tried to hit Clavo. "I'm FINE!"

Swearing under his breath, Clavo shoved Tommy in the shower, clothes and all, and turned it on, smirking when Tommy screamed violent obscenities. A few moments later, Clavo reached in and turned the shower off before pulling Tommy out and escorting him to his bedroom.

After changing Tommy into dry clothes, Clavo shoved him into bed and quickly left the room to clean up the mess that Tommy had made of his normally pristine house.
