Chapter 14
Sari gasped at what she saw.
"Mommy, daddy," she turned from the land to Kyoko and Ren "what happened to our house? what happened to Sari's toys?"
They looked at her in pity, as they realized that this was a dead end, whoever was the mother of the child lied to her.
"Where is our home?" she cried at them.
Ren went to her and bent down, Sari didn't move but she looked at Kyoko in concern at Ren's approached that made Kyoko bent down as well near her, putting the little girl at ease.
"Sari, do you know another way to find your parents?"
She looked at him confused.
"You and mommy are my parents."
Ren sigh, this was not getting them anywhere. Sari flinched a little, that made Ren look a little puzzled.
He stood up.
"Come on. We'll figure this out later." He said reaching out a hand to her.
She looked nervously at him and then glanced at Kyoko who nodded. Seeing her mommy being alright with it, she tentatively put her little hand in his. Kyoko thought that if Sari still thought that Ren was her father to put her at ease, by speaking to Ren about what Sari told her.
He smiled gently.
"It's ok, little girl. We'll figure it out, soon." Sari nodded and followed him back to the car as did Kyoko.
They went to Ren's appointment. As did they all got out of the car, they were met up by Yashiro.
"Ren, I was thinking you might actually be late." He chuckled.
"Uncle Yuki," Sari cried when she heard his name and ran to him, hugging him like she did with the president. She loved her uncle Yuki, she spent more time with him than she did with her father. "I missed you as well." she said beaming up at him.
Yashiro startled looked between the girl to Kyoko and Ren. They shrugged.
"Ren..wh-what is going on? Who is this?"
"Uncle Yuki forgot about Sari as well," the little girl said dejected stepping away from him. She didn't understand why everyone seems to have forgotten about her, she didn't stay with grandaddy and grandmommy that long.
"Sari," Ren said gently, Sari looked at him pensively "Yashiro, did not forget about you. He is just surprised about...how...how much you've grown."
"Is that true uncle Yuki?" She looked at him again.
Yashiro glanced at Ren confused, seeing him nod, he turned his attention back to the little girl.
"I guueesss."
"Sari is happy" she beamed at him again "but" she looked down at herself "Sari hasn't grown that much."
"Sari, to Yashiro-san you looked like you have grown a lot." Kyoko said.
Sari nodded and let the subject but took hold of his hand and smiled at him.
"Let's go inside." Ren said and everyone followed him.
"Kyoko-chan!" He whispered when she passed him, she stopped and looked at him "what is going on?"
"We'll explain later, Yashiro-san."
"Mommy why are you calling uncle Yuki like that, you always called him Yukihito, before."
Kyoko blushed and stuttered unintelligibly, while Yashiro gaped at her.
"We're playing a game and I have to call him Yashiro-san." Kyoko eventually replied, not looking at her.
"Does Sari have to play?"
"No, it's between me and Yashiro-san."
Sari nodded and they continued forward, with Yashiro still in shock. The interviews unfortunately ended at four as the 3 pm interview couldn't be moved earlier. Nothing major happened. Sari and Kyoko chatted with each other in another part of the building. They weren't able to see Ren as they decided that being together might raise questions that they wouldn't be able to answer. Yashiro even though was dying of curiosity kept his professional mask on and squashed the desire to badger Ren with a million question about the three of them.
Eventually they were back in the car with another addition in the form of Yashiro.
"Now, both you tell what is going on?" said Yashiro in a rush.
Ren glanced in the rear view mirror at Yashiro and sigh.
"Yashiro, this is our daughter Sari Aurora."
Kyoko looked sharply at him and then turned sheepishly at Yashiro. The shock wore off in a second and he screamed "WHAT?"
Sari was staying quiet and looking, not understanding anything anymore.
"When-what-how…? What?" and then he got a look of understanding on his face "Is this the president's idea?" Ren motioned for him to get closer so he can whisper and not let Sari know what they were talking about
"Not really. This little girl showed up in front of us claiming that we are her parents. We are trying to figure out what is going on, we talked to the president and he doesn't know what is happening either."
Yashiro glanced at the two of them and then the little girl, he arranged himself back in his seat still looking at her.
"Who am I?" he asked the little girl.
"Uncle Yuki." the little girl smiled at him.
"No, I mean do you know who am I to Ren? Can you tell us?"
"Well, daddy calls you his manager, but you are also his best friend at least that's what daddy told me one day and mommy" here she giggled and got closer to Yashiro as well as making the motion for him to get closer to her to whisper in his ear "told me you are their fairy godmother." she sat back giggling letting Yashiro gape at her again.
"Why?"
Sari giggled again and then whispered again in his ear.
"Because you brought them together. She said that you supported daddy and got him to meet her as many times as possible, before she even knew that daddy liked her." she sat back "she said that she thought they were coincidence but one day you told her about it and she said she will always have to thank you for that." Yashiro blushed and looked dumbfounded at her. That is what he was doing with Ren, who is this girl. Looking at her more carefully he could see Kyoko's eyes and the rest was Ren, the lips, the shape of her face, he didn't really understand why her hair was blond. This was freaking him out a little, but shaking his head in a negative motion he let that thought go. Ren and Kyoko couldn't have had a baby without people around them knowing.
"What did she tell you?" Kyoko asked looking at Yashiro and then at Sari who was still smiling.
"Nothing." he said and Kyoko didn't push the subject as Yashiro seemed a little shaken.
"Here you are Yashiro. See you tomorrow."
"Bye, take care." He said stumbling out of the car.
"Bye, Uncle Yuki!" Sari said.
After making sure that Yashiro was steady on his feet, they continued driving to Ren's apartment.
The routine once they got to the apartment was the same, only thing was that Sari was sad that they wouldn't stay in their home tonight or any other night for that matter. She loved her home. As Sari and Kyoko settled into bed together, Ren entered in the room again, nervous and a little twitching, though those signs were masked and he appeared clam.
"Is daddy going to sleep with us again?" Sari asked generally.
"Actually Sari, me and Kyoko have to talk about something. Do you mind if I borrow her for a little while?" He asked smiling, Sari squinted a little at his smile, her mommy told her the many smiles that her daddy had and this one was gentle and tender and she hasn't seen much of it lately so she nodded silently.
Kyoko got off the bed and followed Ren in the living room.
