Somewhere in a barely lit laboratory.

The Green Goblin had been on what most would call a 'vacation.' He hadn't been causing mayhem, or trying to kill Spiderman, he'd been laying low. Waiting. Just waiting. He wasn't sure what for, exactly, but he was waiting. The man slowly removes his costume to reveal a tired Norman Osborn. His eyes are baggy and black, and he seems to be waiting for something to happen. He's anxious, very anxious. Norman moves to the secret entrance of his lab back to his bedroom. He doesn't bother shutting it, he lives alone nowadays.

Whenever Norman is out of the Green Goblins suit he feels lonely once again, like he did when Harry first moved out. It wasn't like he spent much with him, but the noises of feet moving and doors opening and closing somehow brought a sense of reality to the mans life. When he's out of the Green Goblins suit he feels guilty for the things he's done, killing the policeman on 23rd, his involvement in smuggling, and most recently the troubled he'd caused to Peter Parker's life.

Peter was a friend of his son, and Norman understands that, but the Goblin doesn't. The Goblin loathes Spiderman, and Peter is Spiderman. He especially feels guilty for the involvement of the young Gwen Stacy. Whom he almost recklessly murdered, and surely frightened the night before. But she was with Spiderman, and anyone involved with Spiderman was an enemy of not only the Goblin, but of Cane as well. Even Harry Osborn was an enemy.

Peter knows, that when he wakes up he's done something wrong. This isn't his bed, this isn't even his bed at his old apartment, this is a strangers bed. And there's a stranger next to him. Well, not a stranger, it's Mary 's never known what the 'walk of shame' was exactly, or how it felt. But after waking Harry in a moment of hysteria, he knows exactly what it feels like.

Harry wake up, in a rather hungover haze. There were a lot of 'huh's' and 'what's?' being mumbled from him. "This is bad Harry." Peter says as they exit the apartment. "What if Gwen finds out?"

"Gwen's not going to find out because we had a deal, remember." Peter nods, but can't shake the feeling she'll find out. He follows Harry to the subway, and takes a seat next to him. "Do you feel bad yet?" Harry asks.

"I don't know." He answers, honestly. The problem is: Peter doesn't feel bad about messing around with MJ, it's that he feels guilty for not feeling guilty. Harry get's off the subway before Peter. He sits alone, in thought, for the rest of the short ride. He's emotions are so confused write now, he doesn't know how to feel.

Peter quietly enters Gwen's room, it's noon so its not like shes still asleep, but he's still quiet. She's sitting at her desk writing on some paper, and she laughs once he makes a noise. You took my "Don't come home until the morning thing pretty seriously didn't you?"

"Yeah I didn't want to upset you." He forces a laugh and tries to quickly walk to the bathroom. "I'm gonna take a shower."

"Wait Pete-" She says scribbling quickly on her paper. " I want to talk to you abo-" She turns around. "Oh."

"Hm?"

"We'll talk about it after your shower.

" "Okay?" He says, confused. He opens the bathroom door, and starts the shower. He puts a towel out, then turns to the mirror. "Shit." He whispers to himself. "Shit, shit, shit." he swears, looking over himself. His shirt isn't buttoned correctly, and his hair is tousled. He has sex hair. His neck has a few small red hickeys lining it. "Shit." He whispers once more before getting in the shower. Peter takes as much time in the shower as he possibly can. He's terrified to get out, even when the water runs cold.

He does eventually get out, and is relived to find the room empty. The desk is clear also. The trashcan is filled though, with what Peter assumes is what Gwen was working on. He picks out a few of the ripped up pieces of paper, and unfolds the crumpled up ones. It's Gwen's application to be reaccepted into ESU. He dresses quickly, and throws the pieces of paper back in the trashcan. Peter spends a decent amount of time trying to not look like he'd been at a party last night. He combs his hair flat and puts a hoodie on to cover his neck. He finds Gwen in the living room, with Simon asleep In her arms, flipping through television shows. He takes a deep breath and says "You wanted to talk?"

"Later." She says, nodding her head to the sleeping boy. Simon stars to fidget and she shushes him before he falls back asleep. Peter takes a seat next to her on the couch. He wraps an arm around her, and helps her bring her legs on the couch. The three lay back, and Peter pulls a blanket over them.

"You're great with him," Peter says, kissing her hair. "Youre great with kids."

"No, it's just Simon." She smiles at the boy lying on her chest. "You remember, I basically raised him after Dad died."

"I know."

"So, how was last Night?"

"It was alright." Peter lies. "I'm worried about Harry."

"What's wrong?" She asks, readjusting Simon on her lap.

"I saw him," Peter pauses, unsure if how to continue. "He was doing cocaine last night. A lot."

"Oh my god." Gwen looks shocked. "Harry doing cocaine? Did he jus have it at his apartment?"

"Yeah, he was trying to hide it, but I caught him." He lies again.

"Maybe you could talk to him?"

"I did, he won't listen. I don't think it's a regular occurrence.."

"You just said he had it at his apartment."

"Yeah, but not a lot. he wanted both of us to do it." "You didn't right?"

"No!" He says, leaving out the bit about ecstasy. "Did you sleep? You're eyes are so dark." He says after finally looking her over. "Yeah, Howard had some things going on, and I stayed up with him."

"You should get a nap."

"I could say the same for you." She laughs. "Let's take a nap." Peter nods in agreement, and decides not to bring up the ESU forms. Gwen moves herself and Simon, so the three of them could lay comfortable on the couch, and decides not to bring up the small red mark she saw on his neck.

In an hour or so, a tired Ms. Stacy will return home from work to find the three of them asleep on the couch. She continues with her routine, and sets her purse down on the dining room table. She slides out of her heels, goes to the kitchen, and she fixes a glass of wine. Ms. Stacy makes her way back to the living room. She leans onto the archway, and looks at the three of them. She tries to convince herself that Gwen and Peter came over for dinner, and fell asleep with Simon. That she'll wake them up soon and both of them will stand up and say their goodbyes, then go home.

Sorry this is so short, I have my SAT this week and am busy studying for that.. On another note, I got a request to write more about the Goblin, so I'm trying to give him a comfortable entrance. I also have been meaning to say that the 'Cane' I'm writing about is totally different from Kaine from the comic books. It'll make sense soon enough:)
