Chapter 14

Peach slowly shut the door to her room as she asked herself, "I wonder who could have been watching us? Wolf didn't answer any of my questions when we got back to the castle. He just told me to go straight to my room and lock the windows and door." She then put her hands together and added, "I hope nothing terrible is about to happen."

But while the noblewoman walked up to an open window in order to close and lock it. She failed to see an outline of a anthro chameleon who grinned wickedly as he let out, "Heh, this is going to be too easy."

Wolf acted quickly as he placed the small communicator into his ear and held it down waiting for Peppy to answer. However, not being in a patient mood the wolf commented, "Come on old man, I know you didn't turn off your commentator."

After a few more seconds had passed though the silence on the other end of the line was broken when a voice greeted him with, "Hello Wolf, I wasn't expecting to get a call from you at this time of night."

"Yeah well, if I had it my way I wouldn't be calling you right now. But you were the one who said to call if I saw Leon here didn't you?" The lupine stated, while he opened the door to his room and walked out of it.

"What you saw Leon?! This could turn into a pretty bad situation, Wolf." The general explained.

"Yeah tell me about it. So can I count on some kind of back up to capture Leon? Or am I doing this by myself?" The purple eyed anthro questioned, as he turned a corner.

He heard a sigh from the other end of the call before the elderly hare replied, "Well, I was hoping Falco and the others could help you out with this problem. But unfortunately their busy with their own mission right now." Hearing this caused the wolf to growl in anger since that wasn't the answer he wanted to hear. Upon doing so the general did his best to calm him down when he went on with, "But don't you worry Wolf. I'm sure if I talk to Bill, maybe he a few other men can get to your location and help you catch Leon."

"Hmph, then you might as well tell them that the only thing they'll be doing is picking up Leon's corpse once I get my hands on him." Wolf replied with venom clear in his voice.

"Alright if that's how you're going to go about this then I won't try to stop you. Just make sure you don't do anything foolish ya hear?" The hare told him before the line went silence.

Once this had been done the lupine let go of the ear piece ending the transmission call completely. Upon doing so however, both his ears and tail shot up when he heard a high pitched scream coming from Peach's room. "Darn it!" Wolf shouted, as he ran at full speed to her bedroom. And when he reached her bedroom door he found that the door to it was unlocked which prompted him to pull out his blaster from its hoister as he opened it and added, "Ok Leon, just drop the woman and I won't blast a hole through your head!"

"Sorry Wolf, but I'm afraid I can't do that." The anthro chameleon responded with, before he jumped out of the broken window with Peach over his right shoulder.

And when he did this Wolf ran up to the open space and saw the blonde haired woman had one of her arms stretched outward as she shouted, "Wolf, help me!"

"Darn it all!" Wolf shouted letting out a growl of anger along with it.

When he headed towards the opened doorway however, the lupine saw Toadsworth standing in the doorway with a worried look on his face when he asked, "Wolf, was Her Highness kidnapped again? I-It's wasn't by Bowser again was it?"

"No it wasn't Bowser. He wouldn't do something this foolish since it would break one of the deals that was written out on the peace treaty." Wolf pointed out, before he walked up to the advisor and pushed him to the side.

"Well, if it wasn't Bowser then who kidnapped the princess?!" The elderly Toad demanded, taking one step forward.

Hearing this caused the mercenary to look back over his shoulder as he said, "Sorry, but I can't give you that information. The only thing I can tell you is that come tomorrow your princess will back safe and sound." While he walked away though the purple eyed wolf mentally added, "At least let's hope she wil be. I doubt Leon will hurt her. But if his goal is to take me out then he might do just about anything to get underneath my fur."

Toadsworth watched as the anthro wolf began to walk away from him while he told himself, "Hmm, I did not want to tell Wolf about this. But if something does happen to Princess Peach then he needs to know the truth." He snapped out of his thoughts when he saw the mercenary turn a corner. And not wanting the lupine to get too far away he called out to him with, "Wait just a moment Wolf. I have something very important I need to discuss with you."

He was a bit relieved when he saw that his words had gotten Wolf's attention as he asked, "Oh yeah, and what might that be old man?"

Toadsworth adjusted his glasses slightly when he answered back with, "I'm afraid we can't discuss the matter out in the open like this. So please come to the library within thirty minutes."

Wolf walked into the library preciously thirty minutes later. And after he had shut the door behind him he asked, "Ok, so tell me what did you need to tell that couldn't be heard out in the open?"

The advisor cleared his throat twice before he explained, "Yes well as you know Her Highness Princess Peach is the current ruler of the Mushroom Kingdom. However, she is only one of two of this kingdom's Princess's." Once he had said this the lupine watched as the elderly Toad showed him a picture of two little girls. Wolf could tell that the one on the left side of the photograph was Peach. However, when he saw who was on the right of it both of his eyebrows rose up in slight confusion as Toadsworth added, "So tell me does that other little girl next to Peach look somewhat familiar to you?"

"I….yeah she does. She looks just that Rosalina woman who General Peppy introduced me to." The purple eyed wolf stated, while he looked down at the old Toad. When he did this he continued with, "So are you telling me that your kingdom has two Princesses. If that's the case then why are you telling me this? You don't honestly think I'm going to let Peach get killed do you?"

"Of course not, but I felt that revealing this information to you was important." Toadsworth told him as he tried to calm him down a bit. The grey and white furred anthro watched the advisor while he turned away from him and went on with, "However, if something does happen to Peach then I will need you to find Princess Rosalina's Observatory and bring her back here so that she can become Queen and rule the kingdom in her younger sister's place."

"Hmph, fine you got yourself a deal. But like I said earlier I'll make sure nothing happens to Peach." Wolf remarked having heard enough out of the elderly advisory. But as he walked down the hallway to his room he mentally kept on going with, "So that Rosalina woman is actually Peach's older sister huh? Hmm, I guess that explain why everyone says Princess instead of Queen when addressing Peach."

A/N: And here's another chapter. Now I know that it's was never made official that Rosalina is Peach's older sister. However, I kind of feel like that maybe she could be….of course if I'm well then I'm wrong. Anyway I guess I feel this something extra to story in a way. Oh and later on Wolf will find out why Rosalina is no longer in the Mushroom Kingdom. I was going to have explained here, but I felt it was better to wait.
