Chapter Fourteen: The Grand Galloping Gala
Tonight was a very special night for everypony it was the Grand Galloping Gala! It was a very special event for Ponies everywhere, but not everypony was lucky enough to get an invitation. Those who had been invited had spent days preparing for the event, making sure that they were at their best for it. If they wanted to make a good impression they had to give it their all.
While his friends had been busy preparing themselves for the big night, Vegito had been doing what he did best. The Saiyan spent most of the day training, and was determined to do so until it came time to get ready. It wasn't that he didn't want to go; in fact he didn't have much of a choice. Not everypony got to attend the Gala, and getting personally invited by Princess Celestia was even more of a rarity. If he had turned down the invite it would be like a slap in the face to everypony who didn't get to go. Besides, his friends would never forgive him for skipping out.
As the hours went on the Saiyan continued his daily regiment, which was mostly just physical exercise. His training wasn't nearly as it intense as it used to be, but he would take what he could get. Equestria had no Hyperbolic Time Chamber, at least he wasn't aware of one, nor did he have the Capsule Corp ship Vegeta used. Having that around would do wonders for his workouts, even if the gravity output only went up to three hundred times. Unfortunately said ship was back on Earth, and he had no way to get it... unless...
A grin came to his face as he placed two fingers on his forehead, and a few seconds later he headed off to see the Supreme Kais.
Kibito Kai had been taking some time to relax, choosing to do so underneath a rather large and shady tree. His peaceful relaxation had been interrupted by the appearance of the Saiyan. "Ah Vegito, great to see you again. So what brings you here?"
"Likewise, but this isn't a social visit. I need your help with a few things."
Old Kai, who had been nearby reading a comic book, stood up and joined the group before clearing his throat. "You do remember that we're both Supreme Kais, and not your personal butlers?"
In response Vegito scratched the back of his head nervously. "Yeah... but I can't do these things by myself."
The elder Kai quirked an eyebrow.
"It's just two things alright."
"What is it?" Kibito Kai asked, being more willing to help.
A smirk came to his face. "First I need you to take me to Earth, there's something at Capsule Corp that I need to get."
The younger Supreme Kai nodded. "Okay what else?"
"I need a suit." He received confused looks from the duo, making him sigh. "It's for the Grand Galloping Gala. Rarity says that I can't wear my normal clothes there."
"So I take it you are enjoying this challenge?" Old Kai asked with a grin.
"Actually yeah, it's not that bad over there... although the lack of strong opponents might drive me crazy." He explained.
"Well I would think that not having enemies to fight would be a good thing."
Vegito frowned. "Not when you're a Saiyan who lives for battle."
Not a moment later Kibito Kai grabbed a hold of the Saiyan, and then the two disappeared. They soon found themselves at the Capsule Corporation, which had managed to stay intact in spite of all the damage caused by Majin Buu. The Supreme Kai couldn't help but notice how quiet and calm everything was, which was a stark contrast to how everything was when he and Kibito first came to Earth. A bit of sadness washed over him as he thought about all of Buu's victims, and how he had been inadvertently responsible for it.
"Ah here it is!" The fused warrior exclaimed.
Kibito Kai snapped out of his stupor and looked over at his companion, who was currently standing next to a large black and white vessel. He then watched as the Saiyan pushed a button, causing said ship to completely vanish. "What was that?"
"A Gravity Chamber." He answered as he bent down and picked up his now Capsulized ship. "It will help greatly in my training. I would have come here myself but I can't Instant Transmission here with nothing to lock onto."
"I see... so, are you ready to go back?"
"Yep." Vegito grabbed onto his guide and the two were soon back on the World of the Kais. "Alright now I just need that suit."
Old Kai noticed they had returned with nothing, which made him wonder what they had gone to Earth for in the first place.
As his ancestor was in thought the younger Suprme Kai held out his hand, placing it directly in front of the Saiyan. A few seconds passed before a bright glow surrounded the warrior, changing his clothes from his blue and orange gi to a nice formal suit. His shoes, pants, jacket, and tie were black, while his shirt was white. Also gone were his earrings, although at that point they were merely just for show. His appearance now was certainly a contrast to how he looked a moment ago, but both looks actually suited the Saiyan.
The fused warrior checked himself over and he definitely looked fancy, although those clothes weren't the most comfortable in the world. "Thanks a lot, well I should get going. Twilight and the others are probably waiting for me."
Old Kai waited for him to leave before scoffing."Hmph, he'll probably come back in a few hours asking for his old clothes just you wait. These youngsters can't do anything themselves!"
"Come on ancestor, I don't mind helping him out. He did save the universe from Majin Buu after all."
The elder Kai merely crossed his arms in a huff.
Princess Luna stood in her tower, overlooking all of Canterlot. It had been her duty to watch over the night, and she took great joy in doing so. Of course it could get lonely all by herself, which had played a part in her becoming Nightmare Moon. That and the fact that she felt underappreciated, and that the citizens preferred her sister. Regardless the nights had always been peaceful, and there were times when she preferred having a little alone time. It certainly gave her time to think, which was what she had spent most of her time doing.
As she gazed at the stars she could hear the sounds of the Gala downstairs, which made her sigh lightly. It's not that she couldn't go, as her sister specifically told her she was invited, it was that she would feel a little uncomfortable doing so. The Princess of the Moon had only just recently returned, after spending one thousand years as the evil Nightmare Moon. She was still taking time to adjust to things, and she had a feeling the citizens needed time to adjust to her. As such she figured it would be better to just sit the party out.
'Perhaps I'll go next year, once everypony has fully moved on.'
As their Saiyan friend went through his routine the others had gone through theirs. They had all gone to the spa earlier, with each of them getting pampered and treated in their own way. Once that had been taken care of they were able to start getting ready, which mostly just consisted of putting on their nice clothes. The girls all had lovely dresses on, which had been hoof-made by Rarity. Said dresses were tailored to match her friends' different styles, while also making them fabulous. Spike was wearing a little button-up shirt and tuxedo jacket, complete with a red bow tie.
They were currently waiting outside of a carriage that Twilight conjured up earlier, but instead of coming from nothing it had been made from an apple. It was certainly an amazing sight, but that had only been the start. Her next spell had turned some cute critters Fluttershy brought into horses, promising that they would return to normal at midnight. Unfortunately Rarity's cat Opal came along and scared them away, but luckily she had been able to use her charm to convince a few nearby Ponies to help. And now they just needed Vegito to arrive.
"Oh now where is Vegito, he's going to make us late?!" Rarity just couldn't wait any longer, she had a prince to woo!
"Don't worry Rarity, I'm sure he'll be here soon." Twilight guessed.
Not a second later the Saiyan appeared in front of them. He grinned as he noticed their shocked looks, which were no doubt because of his suit. "I clean up nicely huh? You can thank Kibito Kai, he materialized it for me."
"Well don't you look handsome." Pinkie smirked.
"Indeed, now can we please get going?"
Everyone else shared a laugh as they started piling into the carriage.
"Uh I'm not sure I'll fit, I'll just fly next to you guys."
Spike took the reigns and they headed off, and as the ride went along he began telling his friends about his plans for the night. "I planned out my insider's tour of Canterlot. I've gotta show Rarity the crown jewels, and Applejack the Princess's golden apple tree. And Pinkie, we gotta go to my favorite donut shop." He could hear his Pony friends were getting excited. "Then let's get moving! Hyah!"
Both of the Ponies carrying the carriage stopped. "Excuse me!?"
"If you weren't friends with our neighbor Rarity... Hmph."
"Close one." The Saiyan whispered to the Dragon.
Spike wiped his brow before continuing onward, and after a long carriage ride they had finally arrived at Canterlot. The baby Dragon hoped off the seat and opened the door for his Pony friends, and one by one they exited the carriage. Once everypony had stepped outside Spike got another good look at all of them, and to say he was amazed would be an understatement.
"Whoa! You all look... amazing!"
"I can't believe we're finally here. With all that we've imagined, the reality of this night is sure to make this... The Best Night Ever!"
"At the Gala" Twilight started to sing.
"At the Gala
In the garden
I'm going to see them all
All the creatures
I'll befriend them at the Gala"
At the Gala
"All the birdies
And the critters
They will love me big and small
We'll become good friends forever
Right here at the Gala!
All our dreams will come true
Right here at the Gala"
At the Gala
"At the Gala (It's amazing)
I will sell them (Better hurry)
All my appletastic treats (Yummy yummy)
Hungry Ponies (They'll be snacking)
They will buy them (Bring your money)
Caramel apples, apple sweets (Gimme some)
And I'll earn a lot of money
for the Apple family!"
All our dreams and our hopes from now until hereafter
All that we've been wishing for will happen at the Gala
At the Gala
"At the Gala
All the royals
They will meet fair Rarity
They will see I'm just as regal at the Gala"
At the Gala
"I will find him
My Prince Charming
And how gallant he will be
He will treat me like a lady
Tonight at the Gala!"
This is what we've waited for to have the best night ever
Each of us will live our dreams
Tonight at the Gala
At the Gala
"Been dreamin'
I've been waitin'
To fly with those great Ponies
The Wonderbolts, their daring tricks
Spinning round and having kicks
Perform for crowds of thousands
They'll shower us with diamonds
The Wonderbolts will see me right here at the Gala!"
All we've longed for
All we've dreamed
Our happy ever after
Finally will all come true
Right here at the Grand Gala
At the Gala
"I am here at the Grand Gala
For it is the best party
But the one thing it was missing was a Pony named Pinkie
For I am the best at parties, all the ponies will agree
Ponies playing
Ponies dancing
With me at the Grand Gala!"
Happiness and laughter at the Gala
At the Gala
"At the Gala (At the Gala)
With the Princess (With the Princess)
Is where I'm going to be (She will be)
We will talk all about magic and what I've learned and seen (She will see)
It is going to be so special
As she takes time just for me (This will be the best night ever!)"
Into the Gala we must go
We're ready now, we're all aglow
Into the Gala, let's go in and have the best night ever
Into the Gala, now's the time
We're ready and we look divine!
Into the Gala
Meet new friends
Into the Gala
Sell some apples
Into the Gala
Find my Prince
Prove I'm great
As a Wonderbolt is
To meet!
To sell!
To find!
To prove!
To whoop!
To talk!
Into the Gala
Into the Gala
And we'll have the best night ever!
At the Gala!
"Take it away Vegito!" Pinkie screamed enthusiastically
"No!" He shouted.
The choir then disbanded in sadness that the song was over.
Spike then came sliding into the picture. "Yeah! This is gonna be the best night ever. You know why? Cause we're all gonna spend time at the Gala to... gether." Before he could finish his thought his friends had dashed away towards their respective goals, leaving only him and Vegito. "...Or not."
All of a sudden a loud rumble could be heard, and the sound came from none other than Vegito's stomach. "Surely there must be plenty of food at this party." He started walking forward, only to turn around to see his new friend still standing there. "Come on Spike, we're checking out that buffet."
A smile came onto his face. "Alright sure!"
Inside the main hall Princess Celestia stood, at the very top of the stairs. She was there to greet everypony who had come to the Gala.
Twilight Sparkle excitedly ran up to her mentor. "Princess Celestia!"
"Twilight! It is so lovely to see my star student." She replied with a smile on her face.
"Oh, I'm so excited to be here! We have so much to catch up on."
"Well, I want you right by my side the entire evening, so we'll have plenty of time together."
Her student quickly rushed to her teacher's side. "That's just what I was hoping you'd say."
In another part of the castle Rarity was searching for her prince. It was then that she saw him heading for the courtyard. "Hurry, Rarity... Oh, but not too fast. But don't wanna lose him... WAIT! Have to play it cool. Oh, but don't be cold! I can't lose him, I can't! He's everything I imagined! Even better than I imagined."
A chirping bird flew by and this caught Fluttershy's attention. "Oh my! A meadowlark!" She followed the bird and heard more whistling. "I think she's calling to me. It's exactly what I wished for!"
Applejack was also outside, setting up her cart to sell food for the hungry party goers. Her first customer happened to be none other than Soarin of the Wonderbolts. "Howdy, partner! You hungry?"
"As a horse!" He shouted excitedly.
"Well, what'cha hankering for? Caramel apple? Apple pie? Apple fritter? Apple fries?"
"I'll take that big apple pie!" Soarin gave her two bits and he received his pie.
"Well, thank you kindly, sir! Yee-haw! In the first minute, I made my first sale. Just like I expected."
Soarin took his pie over to the v.i.p. section outside, where he was approached by his fellow Wonderbolt Spitfire. "Always hungry after a show. Eh, Soarin?"
"Heh. Yeah!" Answering her question caused him to drop his pie, but before it could hit the ground a Pegasus ran over and caught it. "My pie! You saved it. Thanks."
"Hey, no prob."
Spitfire walked up to said Pony. "Hey! I know you. You're the Pony that saved us in Cloudsdale and won The Best Flyer Competition."
"Hay yeah! Name's Rainbow Dash."
"Well, Rainbow Dash. Looks like your skills saved us again. Oh, well, at least they saved Soarin's apple pie." They looked over to him and he was face deep in his pie. "Wanna come hang out with us?"
It was like a dream come true for Rainbow, except she had to play it cool. "Sure. Why not? I'm... hanging... with the... Wonderbolts!" She squealed.
Inside the castle in the ballroom Pinkie was bouncing around happily. "The shiny dance floor... The pretty party ponies... Ooh, the fancy band... Shiny! Pretty! Fancy! GOTTA DANCE!"
I'm at the Grand Galloping Gala,
I'm at the Grand Galloping Gala,
I'm at the Grand Galloping Gala,
It's all I ever dreamed.
It's all I ever dreamed, woo hoo!
It's all I ever dreamed, yippee!
I'm at the Grand Galloping GalaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAAA!
Unfortunately no Pony else seemed to like her song as much as she did. "It's all I've ever... dreamed?"
Vegito and Spike were wandering around the castle, on their where the food was being served. The Saiyan had pretty much been relying on his nose, and he had quickly picked up the scent of food. His nose eventually led the duo to a large room, and inside said room was the buffet. His eyes went wide at the sheer size of the table, which had been filled with all kinds of foods.
"Finally!" The Saiyan quickly ran over to the large table, grinning all the way there.
Spike followed him over as well, albeit at a slower pace. "It all looks good." He commented as some chef Ponies walked up to them.
"This stuff is free right?" Vegito asked, receiving a nod. "Great, because I'm going to need some of your help. We're going to sit down and I want you to bring us food until I tell you to stop."
The chefs looked at him confused. "Uh sir, it doesn't work like that. You have to get the food yourself."
"Fine."
The fused Saiyan proceeded to grab as much of the food as he could carry, just piling it all into his arms. After just a few moments the whole upper half of his body was hidden behind food, and the portion size had been cut nearly in half. In spite of his vision being obstructed he had been able to successfully navigate to an empty table. As soon as he reached it Vegito dropped the food onto it, nearly covering the entire surface. He then started digging into the food, not caring at all for manners.
As his friend ate the Dragon looked around nervously. "Uh, Vegito, I think that food is for everypony."
"Hey don't worry, I left them plenty." He pointed towards the buffet, or what was left of it. "Are you going to have any Spike?"
The Dragon nearly vomited at the amount of food his friend was consuming. "No... I'll be fine."
Meanwhile most of the other Ponies had taken noticed of the strange creature stuffing his face, and to say they were disgusted was an understatement. "How revolting."
A nearby mare nodded. "He certainly lacks manners."
Rarity had finally tracked down her Prince, who had been outside standing next to a rose bush.
"Well, hello. I am Prince Blueblood."
"I am... Rarity. Oh my, what a lovely rose." She admired.
"You mean... this rose?" He picked it up with his teeth, but instead of giving it to the mare he kept it for himself. "Thank you. It goes with my eyes."
The mare merely moaned in response.
Fluttershy kept humming her little tune and she heard a whistle in response. "My little meadowlark is right around this bend!"
Unfortunately it turned out to be the gardener whistling.
"Was that you?"
"Yep! I love whistlin' while I work." He told her before whistling some more.
"Oh! Yes... Well... Excuse me." She looked over and saw even more animals in the distance. "Oh! I see a toco toucan! And a spider monkey! And, oh! Is that a wallaroo?" In her excitement she scared said animals off. "Oh, Fluttershy. You're such a loudmouth."
Back inside, Rainbow Dash was trying to make her way over to the Wonderbolts. After a little bit she was finally able to get through the big crowds. "Hey, Spitfire! You ever done a rain cloud double backflip?" She got no response, so she tried talking to Soarin instead. "You ever soared past lightning? It's awesome!"
Unfortunately Rainbow's voice was drowned out by the crowd.
Twilight was still at Princess Celestia's side, but she hadn't had a chance to talk with her.
"Welcome to the Grand Galloping Gala." The Alicorn greeted.
"Princess! I've been so excited to spend time with you and..."
"Yes. Me too, Twi..." The Princess was interrupted by somepony greeting her. "Oh, good evening! Welcome to the Gala. Which is why I..." She was interrupted yet again. "Ladies! Lovely to see you again."
The lavender mare sighed. "Looks like getting a chance to talk to the Princess is gonna be a magic trick in itself."
Applejack hadn't had much luck either. "First minute, first sale. Second... Fourth... Sixth... Sixtieth minute... no sales. This ain't what I expected at all."
Pinkie Pie was sitting at a table by herself, singing sadly. "I'm at the Grand Galloping Gala... and it's not what I dreamed."
Rarity and Blueblood were still outside, and just when it seemed like he was doing something nice for her he took the pillow seat for himself. "This isn't at all what I imagined."
Vegito on the other hand was having a great time. He had eaten tons of food and showed no signs of stopping. One by one handfuls of delicious food were shoved into his mouth, only to be instantly eaten afterwords. It seemed as though there was no limit to how much he could consume, nor was there a limit to how much he could shove into his body. His eating definitely earned him some looks, and it certainly wasn't the most dignified, but he didn't really care.
"Mmmm, oh yeah, that really hits the spot." He commented in between bites.
Spike had lost his appetite a long time ago, and was still doing his best not to hurl. He had mostly stuck around to hang out with one of his friends, but at this point they weren't really hanging out. Sitting at the table all night and watching his friend eat wasn't his ideal night. Sure they were sort of spending time together, but they weren't really doing anything together.
"Hey Vegito, do you think we could go soon?"
"Hang on, I'm not done yet." The Saiyan replied while continuing to stuff his face.
"That guy is a monster." One chef commented.
"Just what kind of beast did Princess Celestia invite?"
Twilight Sparkle was still standing at the top of stairs, still waiting for her mentor to finish greeting Ponies so they could catch up. "This isn't what I hoped."
"This isn't hanging out." Rainbow sighed.
"This isn't what I wished for."
"No!"
"I waited all my life..."
"...for this moment!"
"And I'm not going to..."
"...let it slip by!"
"If it's the last thing I do..."
"...I'm gonna make this..."
"...the best night ever!"
Fluttershy decided to set up a trap for the animals, having been forced to resort to more drastic tactics. "I just have to be more bold, like Twilight says. I'm so sorry to have scared you, my friends! But I'm leaving now, so you can all come out!" To her luck the bait had been taken, and so she pulled the rope. "Gotcha! It's okay. I promise not to hurt you. I just wanna be your... friend?"
Unfortunately it was only the gardener.
"Come on, Rainbow! If they don't notice you, you gotta make 'em notice you." She ran up and knocked a Pony into the air, but before he could hit the ground she caught him.
The Wonderbolts however had been too distracted to notice.
"Just give him a chance, Rarity. His princely side is sure to come out if you're just patient."
Rarity wasn't going to give up on him just yet, even if he was starting to get on her nerves. Surely there were princely qualities to him, there just had to be! Anypony related to Princess Celestia had to have some form of class and manners. Aside from his looks nothing Blueblood had done nothing so far had impressed Rarity, in fact it only made her grow to detest him. It just didn't make sense how somepony who seemed so perfect could turn out to be so... inadequate.
"Miss Rarity! Stop!" The Prince exclaimed as he kept her from walking into a puddle.
"Oh. Prince Blueblood! How chivalrous." She admired.
"One would hate to slip."
"Yes. One certainly would."
"One's cloak should take care of the problem." He said softly.
"Oh, of course it will." The mare and the stallion exchanged looks before she reluctantly used her cloak to cover the spill.
Prince Blueblood then proceeded to walk over it.
The mare grumbled before begrudgingly picking her cloak up and putting it back on.
As Pinkie Pie was feeling down an idea suddenly popped into her head, and then she ran over and whispered something to the Ponies playing instruments. "C'mon, everypony! I know what will make you shake those groove-thangs!"
You reach your right hoof in
You reach your right hoof out
You reach your right hoof in
And you shake it all about
You do the Pony Pokey meeting lots of folks with clout
That's what I'm talking about
You step your left hoof in
You pull it right back out
You step your left hoof in
But you better help him out
You do the Pony Pokey but should find a different route
That's what it's all about
You kick your back leg in
You pull your back leg out
You reach your back leg in
Just be brave and have no doubt
You do the Pony Pokey feeling like you're gonna pout
That's what I'm singing about
You tilt your head in
You tilt your head out
You tilt your head in
Then you shake it all about
You do the Pony Pokey even though your date's a lout
You're better off without
You stomp your whole self in
You stomp your whole self out
You stomp your whole self in
And you stomp yourself about
You do the Pony Pokey and you give a little shout-
"COME OUT!"
That's what I'm talking about
You do the Pony Pokey
You do the Pony Pokey
You do the Pony Pokey
And that's what it's all about
Yeah!
In spite of the upbeat song none of the party goers had been amused by her singing. "Young lady, this is not that kind of party."
"Ohhhhhh... They don't want a party. These ponies want a paaartay!"
The night had continued and the Saiyan was still sitting at his table, stuffing his face full of tasty food. His friend had left a little while ago, saying that he was going to the doughnut shop to be alone. He would've followed Spike but the Saiyan was enjoying himself too much to leave. At that point Vegito had eaten almost all of the food that had been made for the gala. In his defense he was the protector of Equestria, so he figured he deserved a little reward. Plus it wasn't like anyone else was eating any of it.
"Excuse me sir." One chef walked up to the eating machine. He winced as the beast looked over to him, his mouth full of food. "I'm sorry to bother you but... the others are a little disgusted by your uh... eating habits. Not to mention you've devoured most of the food. So I ask that you uh..."
He quickly swallowed what was in his mouth, causing even more disgust. "Sorry, but this is how I always eat. A Saiyan needs all the food they can get. Besides... this food is delicious!"
"But... oh forget it."
Fluttershy had slowly lost her patience, and was resorting to even more drastic measures in order to befriend the animals. She had gone ahead and set up a net, in order to ensnare the animals. "I'll catch you yet, my pretties. Oh yes. As soon as one of you little birds or monkeys or bears touches this net... you'll be MINE! MINE! Whoa!"
She then tripped and found herself caught in the net.
Since her last song didn't go so well Pinkie Pie decided to switch the music to something more funky. "Come on, everypony! You wanted a partay? Now it's paaartaaay! Yeah! Uh! Now that's a beat, yeah! Uh! C'mon, dance! Yeah, woohoo!"
Applejack then entered the room where her friend was DJing, bringing a huge cake along with her. She had begun to realize that the Ponies didn't want her food as it was, so she figured she would try and fix it up a bit. "Okay, all you high-class ponies. Here's a highfalutin apple cake for your hoity-toity taste buds."
"STAGE DIVE!" Pinkie dove off the stage and hit the cake, causing it to go flying towards Blueblood and Rarity.
Seeing the dessert flying toward them, the stallion pushed the mare in the way of it.
Having just been covered in cake, Rarity had finally had enough. "You, sir, are the most uncharming Prince I have ever met! In fact, the only thing royal about you is that you are a royal pain! Vegito is more of a Prince than you are!"
Despite his fear of getting cake on himself he gasped, as no Pony ever called his prince status into question. "WHAT?!" He heard the stories and rumors about Vegito, who apparently was once Prince of all Saiyans... whatever that was. "THAT MEAT HEADED WARRIOR IS MORE PRINCELY THAN I, OH WHERE IS THAT MISERABLE EXCUSE FOR A PRINCE?!"
Blueblood looked around and saw the Saiyan eating like a slob. A slob! 'I'm less princely than that?!' The angry Prince ran towards the Saiyan. "You there Vegito!"
The fused warrior looked over to the Unicorn Prince with uncaring eyes. "What do you want?"
"Miss Rarity claims that you are more of a Prince than I am, there for I challenge you to a duel of honor. The winner shall be crowned a true prince."
Curious Ponies looked over as their Prince confronted their protector.
Vegito shook his head in disappointment, feeling sorry for the stallion. He would have said no but then he saw Rarity was a complete mess, which had no doubt been because of Blueblood. He had also heard the mare yelling at the Unicorn a few moments ago, which gave him all the proof he needed. Of course he wasn't going to kill the Pony, but at the very least he would strike some fear into the Prince. A little intimidation would work just fine.
He then stood up. "Fine, I accept. You can have the first move."
A smirk came onto Blueblood's face. He wasn't a fighter by any means, but he would do it for the sake of himself. The Unicorn ran up and tried to stab his opponent with his horn, but before he could even reach the Saiyan his horn was grabbed. The Prince was then lifted off the ground, which looked pretty humiliating. He tried struggling but he couldn't break free, and his hooves seemed to be just out of striking area.
"Release me you cur!"
"Sure... but only after apologizing for what you did to Rarity."
By now everypony was gathered around in a circle, watching the fight unfold. Rarity was also present, and she had a huge smile on her face.
"Never!" He crossed his arms.
"Okay, have it your way."
With his free hand Vegito struck the spoiled Prince in the gut lightly, causing him to scream out in pain... like a girl. He glanced around and noticed that the Ponies watching were trying to stifle their laughter, as to not anger the Blueblood any further. Rarity on the other hoof was loving it. He could tell she wasn't trying to conceal it, and he certainly didn't blame her for doing so.
"Hey come on I barely touched you." Vegito then let go of the stallion, only to then flick him in the head which sent the Pony flying backwards into a statue.
Said statue began to fall over.
Nearby, Rainbow smirked."This is my chance!" She flew over and held the statue on her back. "Yes! Whoa!" It ended up being too heavy and she found herself bumping into a pillar, creating a domino effect and taking several others down with it.
Twilight and Celetia walked in and noticed not only the ruins, but also Blueblood slowly heading toward Vegito. "Just what in Equestria is going on here?" The Princess questioned.
"THAT'S IT, YOU ARE GOING..." With one swift chop to the back of his neck the Prince went down.
"Well... it can't get any worse." Twilight muttered.
Just then the doors burst open as several scared animals ran inside. F
luttershy was standing in the doorway, and her angry face conveyed her story. "You're... going to LOVE ME!"
All hell had just broken loose at the Gala, and guests were all running around in a panic.
Princess Celestia and Twilight looked over to each other. "Run."
Realizing what was to come Vegito got to work, quickly moving to grab his friends. With all of them together he was ready. "Hold on tight!"
Spike had gone to the donut shop not too long ago, needing a place to go after his disappointing night. The Dragon had envisioned a fun-filled evening with all of his friends by his side, having an amazing time together. Instead nearly all of his friends went off to follow their own plans, leaving him and Vegito alone. Unfortunately spending time with the Saiyan hadn't gone so well either, as Vegito's full attention had been on food. Much like the others the Saiyan had chosen his own activity, and so Spike had decided to leave.
"Hey, Pony Joe. Another donut."
"Don't you think you've had enough?"
"Another donut! Extra sprinkles!"
Not a moment later Vegito and the others appeared in the shop.
"Twilight Sparkle! Ha, ha. Long time no see." Pony Joe greeted.
Seeing his friends brought a smile to Spike's face. "Hey, how was the Gala? How was your best night ever?"
They all sat down at a table and then told their stories.
"That sounds like the worst night ever!"
"It was!" The Ponies said before they burst out into laughter.
"Not my night, I had plenty of good food!" Vegito smirked.
Spike just shook his head, not wanting to think about that.
"That was the best Grand Galloping Gala ever!" Celestia exclaimed which confused the group.
"Pardon me, Princess, but tonight was just awful." Twilight noted.
"Oh, Twilight. The Grand Galloping Gala is always awful."
The fused Saiyan raised an eyebrow. "It is?"
"That is why I was thrilled you were all attending. I was hoping you could liven things up a bit. And while the evening may not have gone as you planned, I'm sure you'll agree that in the end it didn't turn out so bad for this group of friends."
"You're right, Princess. Friends have a way of making even the worst of times into something pretty great."
Rainbow smiled. "Yeah! Hanging out with friends!"
"Talking!"
"Laughing!"
"You mean doing exactly what I wanted to do the whole time?" Spike asked smugly.
Twilight just smiled. "Yes, Spike. You were right."
"There is something I'm still curious about, why is it that you attacked my nephew Vegito?"
"He said he wanted to prove that he was a better Prince than me, so I agreed. I couldn't care less on who the better Prince is, I mostly did it because of how he treated Rarity."
Rarity blushed. "Well you certainly are a true gentleman, unlike a certain somepony."
"Hey no problem, and I guess this night didn't turn out so bad after all." He noted.
"Well I think that this turned out to be... the best night ever!"
Well everypony that was the Grand Galloping Gala, I hope you enjoyed it. Prince Blueblood is a bit of a jerk, not only in this episode but in other fanfics that I've read. So wasn't it nice to see him get beaten up by Vegito... I thought so. I have a surprise for all of you, Season Two will not be starting right away. Instead I am writing the first DBZ movie chapters! I don't want to spoil it, but there will be some action! Thank you so much for reading!
SPECIAL AUTHOR'S NOTE 08/10/2019:
I added that scene with Luna just to add a little more context as to why she wasn't at the Gala. Other than that there weren't too many changes, just some additional dialogue here and there along with some light editing.
