Contest for Vanessa's wedding dress in the group on dA has been cancelled. No one cares apparently.

Moving on.

Chapter Fourteen

"Oh he vanishes a lot. Although not so late in the day. Maybe he's gone to my room," Phineas said. He went to go look.

Ferb gave his mother a strong look. "You know more than you're saying," he whispered. "Who is this Ohio? How can he know about the stone Phineas has? You were the one who told him about it."

"Calm down. I can't tell him who Ohio is. It would lead to more questions that we don't have time to answer."

"Can you tell me who he is?"

Karlie hesitated. "You have to promise not to tell him. I know you don't like keeping things from your brother but this is important and you knowing just might help us."

Ferb took a deep breath and nodded.

"He's name is Ohio Flynn."

"A relative? Is he an uncle or a great uncle?"

"He's not related to Linda or to your grandfather, Clyde. At least not by blood." Ferb eyes went wide as she continued, "Ohio is Phineas and Candace's other grandfather."

Ferb, filling in the blanks quickly leaned over and whispered, "Phineas never talked about that side of the family. Is Phineas's...?" he could hardly bring himself to ask what he wanted to.

Karlie shook her head, whispering back, "I haven't seen him on this side and Ohio doesn't talk about him."

The both fell silent as Phineas came back in. "He's downstairs eating. We still have a few hours in the day so let's go and see Ohio."

Baljeet was leaving Blueprint Heaven after finishing a day of reorganizing and helping customers. He was looking forward to a relaxing evening with Ginger. He was just about to get in his Tata Nano to pick her up when someone on the streets bumped into him. His key ring fell to the ground.

"Oh I am so sorry," the stranger said. He had a smooth British accent and when the young Indian-American looked up he saw a average looking man with a large mustache. "I'm afraid I was in a bit of a daze. Are you alright, young man?"

Baljeet picked up his keys. "Yes I think so."

"I am Doctor Keith Martin." He had a pleasant voice and a charming smile.

"Baljeet Rai," Baljeet said as he shook the man's hand.

"I just arrived i town and was hoping to speak with an old friend of mine. By any chance do you know of the Flynn-Fletchers?"

"Indeed I do. Phineas and Ferb are great friends of mine. Are
you a friend of Mr. Fletcher or Mrs. Flynn-Fletcher."

"Oh I haven't had to honor of meeting Lawrence's newest wife."

"Well they're both out of town and Ferb is in the hospital."

Dr. Martin's face showed shock and concern. "Oh my goodness! I hope he is no worse for wear. What happened?"

"There was a fire and he got badly burned. They had to take him to the hospital and his been in a coma ever since."

"How long has he been under?"

"Three days now." Baljeet checked his watch. "Mērē ōha! I'm going to be late! It was very nice to meet you."

"You too, Mr. Martin, and thank you for telling me about young Mr. Fletcher. Perhaps I should visit him."

"If you're a friend of his father, I do not see how he could object. Good-bye Dr. Martin," said Baljeet as got him his car and drove off. He was unaware of the new, more sinister smile on Dr. Martin's face.

"No, my little friend, he could not object."

From across the street someone watched as Dr. Martin signaled a cab and rode down towards Danville Hospital. He was about to follow when he heard a voice call out to him. He turned to see two spirits and a living person come towards him and knew in two seconds who they were.

"Karlie," he said, keeping his voice and demeanor calm. "What is this? Why is he here?"

Phineas, with a Bluetooth phone headset asked, "Who know who I am?" Then he looked closer at the spirit of the man in front of him. "You look a lot like me and your voice is familiar." Ferb cleared his throat. "Right Ferb. We need to stay focused."

Karlie said, "It was bound to happen, Ohio. We need your help. Phineas needs your help."

Ohio looked at him. "I told you to use the Star."

Phineas snapped his fingers. "That's where I know your voice from. When I first found the Star someone told me it would help me see what can't be seen. That was you."

"Yes. Yes it was."

"Well I get it can help me see spirits and talk with them but how can it help me save Ferb?"

"Save him?" Ohio got a far off look. "So that was him."

"Dr. Martin," Phineas said with a nod. "He knows Ferb is here in Danville and sooner or later he'll learn where he is and his condition."

"It's too late for soon or later. He already knows thanks to that friend of yours, Mr. Rai."

"Baljeet?" Horror filled Phineas at the thought.

"Martin knows how to appear friendly and compassionate," Ohio said." It wasn't Baljeet's fault. It's how that man works."

"You didn't stop him?" Karlie's voice reflected the horror in Phineas.

Ohio turned to her and his voice dropped an octave. "What was I suppose to do? My energy is drained from bringing the Star of Life Wishes here. I can't spirit walk more than a few yards. But that doesn't matter, what does matter is Martin knows where Ferb is and is on his way to pay him a visit.

"Then what are we waiting for?" Phineas asked and ran for Ferb's truck. "What happens when your energy is used up?" He asked.

"I won't be able to use any powers granted to spirits until I return to my grave and rest up."

Karlie pleaded, "Ohio, before we leave you is there anything you can tell us about the Star? Something that might help us?"

"I don't know if it will help you but there is one more thing about it you should know. The Star of Life Wishes also allows one wish. But there's a catch," he looked at Phineas, "you must make an unselfish wish for someone else."

"An unselfish wish for someone else?"

Ohio nodded as Phineas get in the cab and drove away. Karlie and Ferb stayed back for a moment.

"I know who you are," Ferb said to him. "And I made a promise not to tell him. What I want to know is who you're son was." When Ohio doesn't answer he pleads. "Please I need to know."

"Alain," Ohio said in an almost whisper. "His name is Alain."

"Is? You mean he's still alive?"

Ohio turned to him with a sharp, pleading look. "This is why you must not tell my grandson who I am or what you now know. He'll ask questions and everything his father and I did will be for him and our family will be for nothing. Now return to your body and tell Phineas nothing of what you've learned."

Short I know but meh.
You'll learn more about Alain in the next story and what he had to do to protect Phineas, Candace, and Linda.
We're nearing the climax of story and then just a few more chapter. So how have you liked it so far?

The voice of Keith Martin would be Colin McLean
I still need to work out his character design and my camera is being a bit of a pain. I also need to finish up rewards for PnF-HighSchool's Holiday Contest on dA.
