Your Trajectory

One of my favorite bands once said…if the future's looking dark, we're the ones who have to shine. If there's no one in control, we're the ones who draw the line.

I sensed it before it happened. Betrayal stood in front of me.

I watch Elijah flash in front of me. All agreements between us were null and void. As I moved to react, a golden stake hit the center of my body. Ice-cold bitterness injected itself into my body. I felt my fingers go numb and slowly the world went dark as the golden stake's magic laced through my veins.

My last visions were of screaming and blurs of fangs.

(Time was all I had).

First I saw stars, then pinks and then brown eyes.

"Hello Gorgeous, rise and shine. It's time for you to save the world," said a handsome man with an accent.

"Who are you?" I said between dry lips, the glass of water offered to my lips and the waking up of my fingertips

"I am Enzo and you are the very deadly warden I presume," he said while taking my hand to help me sit up.

"Where am I?" I asked barely above a whisper.

"Gorgeous, you're in a tomb and you've been out for a very long time. You can thank the originals for that one. It was not easy to find you," he said joking while picking up my small frame from the coffin.

I got my baring as we vamped outside. "You're not going to like any of this one bit," he said.

"What part? The fact I was staked, nobody knew where I have been or I've never heard of you." I said weakly as he opened the car door and placed me inside.

"Oh you will see love. It's just all messed up" he said as he got into the car and started driving.

To say the least, I had no idea where I was. I felt my powers awakening and from my view it looked like the beginnings of fall. How long had I really been out?

I looked at my vampire savior. I noted he was European and from his aura showed the need to feed.

I had to ask the question regardless of the ugly truth. "How long have I been gone?"

He smirked. "Gorgeous, you missed out a lot. I suppose two years maybe longer from what the boys tell me."

Two years?! Angered infused into my body and my memories of the mission I was assigned blared red. My amber eyes darkened and I looked over at Enzo. "I'm sorry."

I shifted out of the car and envisioned the Salvatore brothers. My shift landed me in a very unfamiliar place but two sets of eyes looked gratefully back at me.

"Enzo found you" said Damon. "It's about damn time you showed up."
