A/N: Sooo sorry! When I left for Texas, I forgot the charger to my computer. Needless to say, no battery equals no typing. I hand wrote a lot of stuff and as I get to type it, I will post it.

Onward with Always Assuming. You have to love the Shadow King when he can make his friends lose their souls like that. We'll see if they can actually follow the rules or if they will wind up behind bars again. I have to agree with many of your reviews… he would definitely ship them off. Enjoy the new chapter!

Chapter 14 – Plans Disrupted

Due to the… let's say "misfortunes" of his friends the previous day, Kyoya had no other option than to put off his meeting with Chika and Satoshi; however, now that he had properly dealt with the troublesome trio and had their signatures on a series of legal documents, he could focus on the other problem or problems at hand. Arriving at Ouran Private Academy even before the last bell rang, the Shadow King made his way to music room three and caught someone attempting to break into the Host Club's inner sanctum. Silently he made his way forward and when he was about five feet away, he cleared his throat and spoke, "As others have learned recently, breaking and entering is a punishable offense and could land you in jail Miss Kame Abe. Now how would that look for the daughter of an elite to be arrested like some common criminal? Oh I'm sure your family lawyers could get the case dismissed, however, your reputation will have a black eye from the publicity… and believe me when I say I will make it known."

Gasping, Kame whirled around and found the former vice president standing there, his expression mocking her, "You can't prove anything!"

"Let me explain this to you so that you will understand, I can always prove the nefarious actions taken against the Host Club and my friends. I know for a fact that Satoshi pointed out the fact that the music room is wired just in case something were to happen. After a few events occurred during my second year, we felt it would be a prudent course of action. What he did not inform you of, we have the outside wired as well. All of your actions have been recorded and can/will be used against you if I so choose it," he chuckled and pushed up his glasses.

The first year paled knowing she had been backed into a corner and caught red handed (so to speak), but she wasn't done yet, "I have no idea what you're talking about. I was passing by and noticed a letter on the door and decided to see what it said." Thrusting her nose up into the air, she attempted to look down upon Kyoya. It was not an easy feat, and one she failed at, however, she was determined to stand her ground.

He chuckled again and said, "Let me explain something very basic to you. Your pathetic attempt to act superior to me is a mere child's game. My family is more powerful and richer than yours, my family can put yours out of business if we so choose to do so, and I can take you down without the backing of my family. You are beneath me."

"Well, then Haruhi is beneath both of us and Chika deserves better!"

An all-out laugh escaped Kyoya's mouth. Shaking his head, he smirked, "No, see that is where you are wrong. Her family may be poor compared to us and her family name may not hold the weight that the Ootori or Abe name does, however, as far as skill, smarts, personality, beauty, manners, behavior, and a list of other items, she vastly outranks you. She and Chika are happy together and no one will decide their fate except them. I'm certain you have been informed about the newspaper reporter who tried to attack the Host Club, you would do well to heed the warning offered. We will not be kind to those who try to attack any of our members or friends… and you are not counted as either. Now leave."

She would not be dictated to! "You can't tell me…" Kame began and was interrupted.

Pushing up his glasses so that they caught the glare of the light, Kyoya stated, "Oh I can and I will. You see I know all about your ploys and attempts to drive a wedge in between Chika and Haruhi. I have proof and if you choose to push me any further or to interfere in their relationship, you will suffer greatly. I don't make idle threats." He stepped around her and unlocked the music room door, taking the letter with him. He suspected she had planted it there and had been caught in the act. Slamming the door in her face, he locked it and proceeded to meander over to his old table. He knew there was no way she would give up that easily, and he would continue to gather evidence against her… and if needed, he would make sure she was never heard from again. Siberia was lovely this time of year, and if she disappeared… well you get the picture (no, he won't kill her. Stop those assumptions. He may do a lot of things, but he wouldn't murder someone for what she has done… I don't think).

It wasn't long before Chika and Satoshi arrived in the music room and found the Shadow King sitting in the corner typing on his computer. Walking up to him, Satoshi inquired, "Senpai, what are you doing here? We weren't expecting you."

"Correct. I decided to come by so that we could discuss a couple of things. Unfortunately we were unable to meet yesterday thanks to a trio of idiots, but since I had the afternoon free today, I thought I would attend Host Club. Is that a problem?" Kyoya answered, his expression daring them to argue with him.

"Nope, not at all senpai," Satoshi quickly said.

"Glad to have you," Chika added.

"Excellent. Now first of all, when I arrived Kame was attempting to break into the club room. She tried to deny it, but video doesn't like… unless it was doctored by the twins and this one was not. She had this letter with her, which I have already opened and read. There is a picture of Haruhi with Tamaki inside. Given the number of instances where Tamaki has glomped Haruhi or given into his overwhelming urge to act like her 'daddy', I would surmise that the photo has not been altered. Where is the photo you received, Satoshi?" Kyoya explained.

Handing his senpai the photo, Satoshi declared, "It's a fake. I'm not that short and Haruhi is not that tall."

Kyoya studied the picture for a couple of minutes before agreeing with the younger man, "You are correct. The quality of the photo shopping rivals that of the twins. With your permission, I will take this with me. I want to see if she left any traces that would give definitive proof that this is her work."

Anxious to find out answers to his questions, Chika started his interrogation of the Shadow King, "Did you find out anything about my locker? I keep feeling like someone is following me, do you know anything about that? What about the star? What about…?"

Cutting off the karate captain by holding up his hand, Kyoya responded, "I have instructed a couple of the officers from the Black Onion Squad to follow you in order to find out who threw the star. There was only a partial print and we were unable to trace it to a source, but I have a couple of leads that I am looking into. Forgive me if I don't share those with you at this time. As for the locker, it was not Kame, or at least she was not the one that broke into your locker. She could have paid someone to do that though. I wouldn't put it past her, however, I am finding that not everything is as it appears. I should know more soon, and when I do, I will inform you of my findings. So far there have been no direct attacks on Haruhi, unless you want to include the troublemakers in that assessment; and in that case, they are too numerous to count. That being said, Ranka informed me last night that a package was left on the doorstep of the apartment and he found it when he got home. Haruhi had yet to return home from school when he arrived. He did not open it because it was suspicious to him given the fact it was left and only had Haruhi's name on it. Instead of finding out the contents, he immediately called me and I had it picked up. Inside was a voodoo doll of Haruhi and a letter informing her to stay away from Yasuchika or else."

"Did it say Yasuchika or Chika?" Satoshi questioned.

Kyoya studied both men and replied, "It said Chika. As you walked in, I received the report on it and I will let you know that it was Kame. Since she tends to attack Haruhi while trying to woo Yasuchika, I am going to assume that the person attacking Yasuchika is a different culprit. It appears that we have two enemies who are trying to break up our Host Club couple."

Chika felt sick to his stomach. Kame had gone as far as to deliver a package to Haruhi, and now Kyoya was telling them that there were two parties set on trying to come between him and his girlfriend… he wanted to punch something, to beat something into a bloody pulp. Who the hell was the second enemy, if there truly was one? He still believed that Kame was fully capable of doing both attacks, but the Shadow King could be right and it could be two different camps. Unable to hold in his rage, he walked to the back room where a practice dummy appeared for him and started hitting it. When he felt calmer, he walked back out, ran a hand through his now sweaty hair, and asked, "So what do we do now? Should Haruhi stay at my house again? I don't want her to be hurt or threatened."

"Given the nature of the package left at the door and the information I have gathered so far, I do believe it might be better for her to stay with someone. Ranka agrees as well," Kyoya stated.

"Then I will talk to her tonight about staying at my house for the time being," Chika declared. He didn't want to let his girlfriend out of his sight more than he had to. Granted she could probably stay with any of the hosts, but that didn't sit well with him. Tamaki would try to be "daddy", the twins would play dress up and act like she was their toy, she might not be comfortable at Kyoya's, and… well he couldn't come up with a good excuse as to why she shouldn't stay at the Morinozuka household except that he couldn't keep an eye on her if she didn't stay with him.

Knowing exactly what was going through his cousin's head, Satoshi grinned, "Well since you two are dating, it might be less damaging to her reputation to stay at my house."

Glaring, Chika growled, "I don't think so. She has stayed at my house before without any repercussions and she can stay there again!" His hands were in tight fists and if he had to, he was willing to beat any thought to the contrary right out of his best friend… family or not.

He could see that he might have pushed the wrong buttons at the wrong time, or the right buttons at the wrong time, however, Satoshi realized he needed to backtrack, "You're right. She should and can stay with you. I was just teasing, but I think it best that she stay at the Haninozuka house. Do you think your parents will agree to it again?"

"They love her, so they will," Chika snapped.

Upon witnessing the spectacle before him, Kyoya thought it best to step in before the two cousins came to blows, "Yasuchika, why don't you call your family and inform them of the situation. I will inform Ranka of the decision that has been made. After you talk to your family, you will also need to call Haruhi and discuss this with her."

"She'll agree," Chika immediately proclaimed.

Satoshi sweat dropped right before he face palmed, "I don't think that's the attitude you need to take when you call her. You know how she can be."

"I agree," Kyoya scowled. Haruhi hated being told what to do and where to go by others… and that included her beloved boyfriend. She put up with it with Tamaki because there was no changing the blond, and she dealt with it with the rest of the Host Club because she knew it was better to go along with the plan than to argue; however, coming from Chika, it needed to be handled a little more delicately.

"I think I know how to deal with my own girlfriend. Three years together gives you experience," Chika replied forcefully; although, he knew they were right and there was no way he would call Haruhi and demand she come to his house. This had to be handled tactfully.

"What about Hikaru-senpai, Kaoru-senpai, and Tamaki-senpai? Last time Haruhi stayed with them, well it wasn't pretty," Satoshi snickered.

Pushing up his glasses, Kyoya smirked, "I wouldn't worry about them. They have been dealt with properly and I will inform them of the change of residence myself." Just the thought of their expressions made him want to break the news himself.

Chika and Satoshi deadpanned when they noticed the almost maniacal gleam in their friend's eyes. Yes, the Shadow King was definitely someone they never wanted to get on the bad side of, and there were many times they were surprised the trio of troublemakers was still alive.

"Now, the other hosts should be arriving shortly and the Host Club will be opening soon. I recommend we shelve this discussion for another time. Yasuchika, you may want to call your parents and Haruhi in order to make the necessary arrangements," Kyoya instructed and waited for the younger man to walk off before addressing Satoshi, "Keep an eye on Kame Abe. She didn't take too kindly to my threats today and something tells me that she is not done."

"Haven't we given her enough rope yet?" The young Morinozuka questioned.

"Almost," Kyoya replied and then snapped his computer shut. The other hosts had arrived and they needed to prepare for the club's opening.

Elsewhere in Ouran…

"I was unable to deliver the next package due to an unforeseen interruption, but I will make sure it is delivered today," a man spoke in hushed whispers.

"See that it is done or else," came the response.

Swallowing hard, he stayed hidden in the shadows and continued to speak quietly, "I understand." This easy job was turning out to be a lot harder than he thought.

In the rose garden of Ouran…

Kame pocketed her phone and screamed. Nothing was going according to plan. Her package had not been delivered, she had been caught and threatened by Kyoya, and she found out that Haruhi never got to see her present. This was not how everything was supposed to happen! Taking a deep breath, she attempted to calm herself. Now was not the time to lose it. There was still plenty of time to ensure Chika was hers, and she would steal Chika from Haruhi because she was Kame Abe and she was deserving.
