Before I had a moment to realize what was happening I was being whisked through the forest at a break-neck pace. The house came into view suddenly and Alice quickly wrapped me in a blanket. Rosalie and Esme were anxiously staring off into the woods nearly bouncing on their toes. Carlisle quickly looked me over but then realized it was a useless effort. I had already healed from the ordeal of giving birth and looked as if I had never been pregnant to begin with.
"Why did you bring me back here? Where are my babies?" I barked at Edward.
"My love, you need to calm down. I will get the babies." And with that he was off.
Rosalie and Esme were bustling about trying to prepare for the babies I assume but I couldn't think straight, my babies weren't here and my boys had all pushed me away. Suddenly another gust of wind brought Edward and my babies to me but still no Jasper or Emmett.
"Where are Emmett and Jasper?" I barked at Edward.
"Emmett went back to help after..." He started to explain but trailed off.
"After what Edward?" I started to ask but then Esme's panicked voice was asking for my help.
"Please Bella, I'm afraid to set her down but I can't hold her much longer." She whimpered.
I turned to see my little spitfire starting to glow a reddish orange and a scared Esme who looked to be sweating!
My sweet little spitfire must have been feeding off of my anxiety because she was starting to glow and Esme was actually sweating!
"Serafine Whitlock, you need to calm down right this moment!" I bellowed.
"Esme can't take the heat of your flames, you need to calm yourself." As I talked to my daughter she visibly calmed and Rosalie started taking steps toward them both with Nixie in her embrace. "That's it sweetheart feel the soothing coolness of your sister's love. When your father gets back I'm sure he'll give you several long talks about fire safety in a house full of vampires so be fore warned that its coming." I cooed.
"Thank you Bella, I thought I was in real trouble there for a moment!" Esme sighed.
I nodded and hugged both the women and my babies at the same moment. Wanted to love on my daughters but I still remembered that Edward had some explaining to do. I turned on him and instantly he knew he was in trouble because he bowed his head and put his hands up in front as a defensive move.
"Now Edward my love, what was this about an after..." I cooed while sauntering over to him.
"Bella sweetest, you need to stay calm for the girls. You don't want them to hurt anyone and besides they had fun and love their uncle Emmy as they are already calling him. They were never in any real danger, I always knew what was happening." He said as he backed away from me.
"Edward!" I yelled as a flame appeared in my palm.
"He was attacked by five demons and a set of Asian witches. Their thoughts were focused on killing the babies and anyone in the way. But they didn't expect the girls to have instant powers and for Emmett to be so strong. The girls thought it was fun and were a bit angry that I took them from the fun as they put it." He explained.
"Girls, I can't believe you thought an attack by demons was fun!" I admonished.
"To be fair my sweet the demons and witches were sloppy and unprepared. They didn't know how to cast any strong spells and the demons fought like newborns. Emmett made it into a game for the girls and they wanted more playtime with their uncle. When I got close I was able to take out the Asians while Emmett threw the girls up in the air and ripped off the head of one demon then the wings off another before catching the girls and giving them both a kiss before tossing them to me. The wingless demon gave chase but Emmett got it before I got too far from the scene. The last thoughts I heard from him dealt with some gruesome details involving both his hands and two demon hearts." He replied.
"Shit a double heart crush and I missed it! Wait the count is only four demons, what of the fifth?"
"I don't know sweetheart I had to get the girls to you. I'm sure he is safe. Michael and Jasper are both out there." He replied.
"What am I going to do I can't just wait here and I can't leave them out there alone. I'm the one who is nearly immortal. They need me!" I ranted.
It felt like hours that I stood there trying to determine the best course of action. My daughters were getting a bit agitated but Esme realized that if she wrapped them together in the same blanket they were keeping each other regulated and calm. No bursts of the elements at least for the next few minutes.
I thought about sending Edward out there but I had more experience with demons and magic and didn't want to lose all three of them.. "That's it, I'm going back out there!" I proclaimed.
"Bella, no the babies need you here!" Esme cried.
"Listen to the vampire Isabella. You are needed here." Came the unmistakable voice of Michael.
I turned to yell at him for abandoning my boys to see the most frightening scene in front of me. Michael was holding Jasper around the waist because his left leg was severed at the knee and his shirt was missing and several slashes marked his chest. He was angry and his chest was heaving. He glared at Michael but was ignored by said Angel. Emmett on the other hand was holding his right arm in his left hand and he too was shirtless. He had a nasty looking gash across his chest from navel to right shoulder. Other than that he looked to be held together fairly well.
"Swan you are needed here because there are about 20 more headed this way and about seven witches in tow with them. I will care for your vampires but you and the babies will need to dispose of the rest of the demons." Michael announced.
"The babies?" I questioned.
"No not the babies, they'll get hurt!" Rosalie shouted.
"Surely you must be joking." Carlisle inquired.
"Absolutely not, my daughters are not to be part of this mess. Just give me a moment to fuse my leg back on and I'm good to go." Jasper replied.
They all started arguing at once and I could already here the footfalls in the distance. I needed to clear my mind but I didn't have time to meditate. I guess I'm just going to have to take over Jasper's military personality again.
"Well Swan, it is about time you took charge. I'll delay their arrival but you'll need the girls to protect your vampire family." Michael replied to my inner monologue.
Damn Angel.
"Again, heard that."
"You were meant to." My sarcastic reply.
"Girls, mommy needs your help. Nixie sweetheart form an ice barrier about six inches thick. Serafine you need to create a fire barrier on the outside of the ice. Protect daddy, your uncles and your grandparents. Alice and Rose, can you please get Carlisle's blood supply for the boys? I'll give them mine when I'm done here." I barked my orders before seeing the ice instantly dome around them. It was quite beautiful watching the flames wick around the ice. My girls, such talent!
Michael appeared next to me and stated that the demons had been slowed and the witches were pathetically trying to break what they thought was my magic slowing their trek to me. Within seconds there was about 15 of the 20 demons surrounding me and growling in their 'menacing' way. This is a joke right? These can't be mature demons. They are sloppy at best. I looked to Michael and he shook his head as if to say 'don't say it'. The witches with them started trying to use their magic on me and I had to laugh, it was like the magic couldn't even push me in the slightest. One particular ugly demon with rips in his wings came running at me full force and I used my shield to slice him in half. I used the shield again to stab a whole in hisThey had helpesd all the witch covens to chest cavity about a good five inches wide. Again the stupid witches attack me with their magic or should I call it fireworks and sparklers and I had to slam them all back against the trees behind them. I didn't want them dead and would give them a chance to retreat and go about their lives but they only got one chance and then death would be their ending.
The demons though would all die, I had no qualms about that. They didn't care for witch hierarchy they only wanted blood and death. They aided the other covens in the destruction of my family and would not stop when I was killed or my daughters gone as well. One by one the demons started attacking and I used my teleportation to sliced and diced my way through each one. There were pieces of demon everywhere and they were crawling around like they were going to reattach themselves. The witches also decided to get back in the mix and I killed two before giving them a chance to run. I guess they're as stupid as the demons because they kept trying their "spells" on me. That one actually hurt! Not!
So the demons are down to three and I'm feeling inspired by Emmett. These two should do nicely! Yup, I was right pulling out two blackened demon hearts at once is exhilarating! An that leaves one last demon... I'm thinking a head pop would be the best and very entertaining to boot. So I teleported to his back and grabbed him in a stranglehold, yanked him over my shoulder and pop! His head was bouncing among the demon body parts in seconds.
Aaaaw! Now that was fun! I turned to the witches and gave them a fake step forward and they all started running away like the cowards they were! "Tell your coven that if they come back I will not let you live. Leave my family be, my magic can't be transferred to another outside the family. I will not say this again." I shouted to their backs.
I used my fire to burn up the rest of the demon parts and ran back to my family.
"Girls, you can let the shields down now." I announced.
The fire melted the ice and Jasper jumped over the half wall to hug me close to him. Everyone started shouting and asking questions and I was trying to focus but the emotions were getting the better of me.
Suddenly the ground was rumbling and at first I thought it was me but then I realized the thumping was more of an impact tremor than an earthquake and I turned to Michael to figure out what the sound was.
"I will guard the vampires but I suggest you focus mainly on your physical shield as a weapon. You have 30 seconds to prepare." He stated.
"Prepare for what?" I questioned.
But I didn't need to wait for an answer because a lud growl was coming from the tree line in front of me and out stepped the largest winged monster I have ever seen.
"Michael?"
"That is an alpha demon. Head of his clan and severely hard to kill. Knowing you it should be fun!"
I didn't even stop to think about it, I just ran towards it with what looked like a whip in one hand and a sword in the other. He was stamping around and pushing trees over but I was going to let him do any damage to my family. I used the whip and ripped off his arm just above the elbow. He howled and tried to punch me into the ground but I was too fast. He uprooted a tree and threw it at me but I used the sword to cut it in half. I used the whip again to severe a foot and then teleported to his back where I swiped the sword in a long stroke up his back taking one wing off in the process. He fell to his knees and I kicked him forward to the ground. I held the sword above my head and used it to deal out a final blow to his head severing it completely. As I walked away I threw a fireball at the corpse and returned to my family.
My family was the most important to me and I would do anything to protect them.
"My love are you alright." Edward asked.
"Yes I'm fine everyone."
"Isabella, you have a lot of explaining to do. Why did you put yourself in such danger? The girls need you, I could of handled it on my own." Ares bellowed.
"Let's get you inside and I'll feed you more blood. You should feel a bit better once you've healed." I whispered as I hugged him closed to me.
"You owe me big time Isabella."
" I know and I'm sure you will monopolize my time to get what you want." I cooed.
Hello my lovelies! Miss me? I am still writing this story and re-writing another but I've been swamped at work and at home. Remember this story will be mostly fluff with a twist of drama and a ton of sexy time! Hopefully my next installment won't take as long to write. I had a bit of writer's block with this chapter and then had to re-write the first half when my copy disappeared. Kisses... Next chapter will jump forward to Edward's alone time and a bit of bondage!
