Author's Notes: Thank you to everyone who reviewed my fic.
Smallvillegirl2: I have been thinking about a TMNT crossover but still haven't made my mind If I want to do it (If I did do it would be based on the cartoon show of the late 80s and early 90s).
Miriam1: I am going to explain what the City of the Pyramids in this chapter. Sam and her crew have to be careful they are dealing with the devil here. Yes, it will be interesting to be see what Nana will think of Danielle. Gomez was quite proud of his occult text collection but only time will tell if the Addamses will listen to Danny now.
Chapter XIV: Faustian Dilemmas
Zile Zazic
"There," I said as I restored power to my office and shut the door to the box before walking down the ladder. Once, I find out who tampered with the power I would make sure they would pay for messing with Zile Zazic.
I looked down at the disturbed dust on the floor, whoever was here knew to evade capture by using the Nuclear shelter as few know if it's existence. I examined the area and found fingerprints. "What do we have here," I said as I took out my phone and dialed Stan's number.
"You called Mr. Z," Stan said on the other side as I smiled happily looking down at the fingerprints on the stone floor.
"Yes, I did, I want you to meet me in the power room and bring the portable scanner," I told him as I stood up and walked outside the room to wait for my lackey to come with the technology needed to find out the guilty party.
Sue
This mysterious girl had me puzzled, who was she; why did she fight Kong Li; and how did she transform like she did. I needed answers and there was only one place for that.
I walked into Nana's into Nana's room and took out her book on Alchemy and Spiritualism. "Let see," I said as I flipped through the pages hoping it would shed some light on things.
There were all list of all sorts of arcane topics but none seemed to fit the girl until I saw a promising sections. "Here we go, zhuǎn biàn," I said smiling as I sat down and started reading until I heard a noise outside the room. "Who's there?" I asked as I walked outside but saw nothing.
I looked around the hall but saw nothing, something weird was happening was happening but I didn't know what. "Is anyone the…," I began to say until I felt someone push me to the ground. It was then I knew who it could be. "All right Tobey, enough!" I said a rug from the floor and placed it over where we was standing revealing his form.
"You're no fun Sue," he said as he became visible again, "what are you doing anyway?" he asked removing the rug from his shoulders as we walked back into the room.
"I'm trying to figure out what our guest is," I told him flipping through the book, "I'm leaning towards a huli jing," I tell him pointing to a paragraph under the category of 'transformations.'
"I don't know about that Sue, if she was one of those she would have turned back into a fox spirit not a girl with a black hair," he said taking the book flipping through the pages.
"Please tell me that you're not still going through with the summoning," I asked him realizing what he was doing. I had visions of his 'spell' going wrong and creating a mess that he couldn't control then Nana and Mr. Wu will make me and Sid pick after him.
"Trust me, this will work and once we get him here Mr. Wu won't boss and yell at us so much," he said as I sighed, put the book away and left the room. "What?" Tobey asked as he followed me out the door.
Sam
"Well," Speed asked as Annalise walked up to us smiling. Something told me that whatever she had in mind was not good for us.
"Okay, losers, here's the deal, I'll let you go if you do me an errand for me," she said flaunting her pink and diamond cell phone in our faces. "What I want you geeks to do is hack into Headmaster Spritle's computer and get me the answers for the advanced mechanics exam," she said as Speed gasped in horror.
"That's cheating," he told her angrily, I had never seen Speed so angry before but even though he was boiling he kept in control of his emotions. "Forget, get someone else to do your dirty work!" he spat at her clenching his teeth.
Annalise merely raised an eyebrow at him, "have it your way, I'm sure father will like to know what you're doing in his office," she said dialing the number as Speed sighed in defeat.
He stared at Annalise working through the scenarios in his mind, "Fine, you have a deal," he finally said as Annalise pressed a button on her phone releasing us.
"I knew you would see it my way," she said as she pointed to the floor to sit. "Okay, kiddies, here's what I want you to do," she said as a a heavy feeling formed in my heart was memories of what happened to Danny when he cheated on the CATs (I know Speed doesn't have superpowers but still the consequences could be just as dire).
Gomez Addams
I still couldn't believe my beautiful collection was in ruins. Some of those books were over 20,000 years old. I stared at one old velum manuscript lying on the ground. Its cover was ripped to shreds making it unreadable.
"It's going to be okay, dear," Mortica said as she placed a hand on my shoulder while I sat down watched Cousin Itt examine the feather he found on the floor.
He got out a microscope from his bag and looked at the feather intently while taking jotting notes down on a tablet.
"I know, Mortica, it's just this was my life's work and now…," I said as I looked at the torn book in the corner and walked over to it. I knelt down and carefully opened it looking at the parchment that read 'The History of Hyperborea and Atlantis including the War between the kingdoms.' It was said to be the oldest Hermetic text containing the very handwriting of Hermes Trismegistus himself. "Why would go after this one," I asked flipping through pages until I noticed one of them was missing. "Look at this dear," I said pointing to the page.
"Why would they rip a page from this book and leave the others," Mortica asked as I went to the index and found that page contained an explanation of the ancient language of Atlantis known as Aaru. According to legend it is the language from which The Three Worldly Tongues (Egyptian, Greek, and Latin) can trace their origin to and through them all the languages of the world.
Before I could I answer I heard Cousin Itt start to talk, "Did you find something Cousin Itt?" I asked him walking up to the table where he was working. He had various scientific instruments of all shapes and sizes strewn across it.
"Meep, Meep, Meep," Itt said looking up as I scratched my chin at his words.
"The feather dates back 2,008 years ago and that it doesn't match the Ectoplasm found on the boys hair," I said amazed by his skills. That school taught him well but it made me wonder about the chance that boy was framed even more and who would do such a thing.
I decided that maybe I should talk to this boy to get some answers so I got up and walked down the dungeon where the child was being kept.
Imhotep
"Thank you," Lord Tempus, or Clockwork as now likes to be called, said as I placed a cup of tea on the table where were sitting. It is rare that one of from the other realms of the gone as the chasms that separate them are so large.
The Ghost Zone is not the only realm where souls dwell, there are other lands shrouded in darkness like the Abyss which lays at the foundation of the universe and it's center the realm known as the Pit where dread Apollyon sits at outsides it's gates waiting for the Final Days to began so he may free the horrors that await behind it's black iron doors.
Besides being realms of punishment there are also realms where the just dwell. These realms are endless and no one knows how many actual realms they are but the light of the Divine shines through them all.
The City of the Pyramids is a realm of the third Heavens where those who sought wisdom dwell and is governed by one who is called the elder philosopher though none have seen him since the days of the Great Wars of Old.
"What brings you here, Lord of Time," I asked him as I myself sat down and sipped my tea curious as to what is going on but before he could speak a tremor hit realm knocking us out of our seats. "Are you okay," I asked Clockwork as I helped him up.
"Yes," he said, "I was hoping the Observants were wrong about this," he said as he told me that the stirrings of the Infernal Realms mainly Dantea are behind this (we in the blessed realms are safe from the cursed one's powers but we can feel when the stir since they lay at the bottom of the universe.
"Those who watch have known about this?" I ask him curiously as he nods, "It must be serious indeed," I told him solemnly.
"They think it is, but that is not why I am here," said gravely, "I have come here seeking his help," he said as I gasp in shock. No one has seen him in eons and no one dares to enter his pyramid in the center of the city.
"I don't know if he will be willing to help, but I will take you to him," I tell as he smiles knowingly at me.
Nana
"How is the girl doing?" I asked Sue and Tobey as they came down the stairs. I was concerned for her well being as the spell Kong Li was particularly dangerous even though she survived by some miracle. Even worrisome was the fact that she was fighting Kong Li, how would she know he was evil unless…..
"She's still unconscious," Sue said as I made up a tray of food for her. She would be drained when she does awaken and need nourishment. "Nana, may I ask you something?" Sue asked as I nodded, knowing what she was going to ask.
"You want to know what she is," I told her as she remained silent, "I have been asking the same thing too and the only thing I can think of is that she one of the fox spirits of old," I told her thinking back on my texts as I walked up the stairs to deliver the food to her.
I went into the room and laid the tray beside her bed, her unusual dormancy worried me as it could be the spell reacting with her powers as a huli jing. "You're still cold," I said placing a hand on her forehead, it was almost a deathly cold but the only creatures known to be cold to the touch are the spirit-men but there have no account of female spirit-beings in the texts of the ancient alchemists, but still there is always chance that something was hidden during that time.
