Chapter 13

Scott, Summer and Flynn were all awoken up in the early morning by a very loud noise. Due to their training to be ready at a moments notice, the three primary Rangers were up in a flash ready to fight only to discover that the loud noise was Ziggy screaming her guts out at what the Red, Blue and Yellow RPM Rangers figured was her sister and family members as they were still coming down the stairs.

"You have got to be kidding me?!" Ziggy screamed at her Godfather as she paced around the living room.

"Do I look like I am kidding?" Daggeron replied with a slight glare. He knew Mehira would act this way as she was very much like her father in so many ways including having the same type of temper.

"I don't believe this! You want me to go back to Briarwood for an unknown amount of time when Corinth is being attacked by Venjix and his army just because I fainted?!" Ziggy yelled in the face of her godfather.

"Ziggy, it's not just because you fainted but your are coming into her powers and since there is no outlet for you to practice them you need to come back to Briarwood to harness them." Zander told the girl.

"Oh give me a break! You are going to try and pull the 'I'm coming into my powers' trick when you all know that I don't have and will not ever get any magic powers other than shape-shifting and even that is limited." Ziggy snarled out at her family. She couldn't believe that they would use one of the things that she knew wasn't true. One of the things that hurt her the most. She didn't have any powers and would never have them. Not after what had happened when she was 13 and she knew that she would never get her powers.

Brodie made a move towards her younger sister. She knew that her sister had a temper and the fact that they had told her that she would have to leave Corinth was not going to go very well.

"Mehira..."

Ziggy turned her head towards her sister so fast that everyone thought that she's broken her neck. "Don't you dare talk to me!" Ziggy growled out at her sister in a voice that scared everyone in the room. "Don't you dare. All my life all I've heard was how I was always compared to my sister in both fighting and magical. I am just as good as you are when it comes to hand to hand combat. But when someone talked about me all I heard was it was such a shame that I never got or would get my magical powers. That I was a 'weak link' in the family. Now it seems that when I have finally found something that I am good and better than you at you decided to come in and try to take that away from me so that you can always be better than me. Well, that is not going to work. I am NOT going to let anyone take away the one thing that I have finally found that my sister can not be better than me at. I AM NOT LEAVING THIS CITY. If you want to leave then be my guest but I am staying and protecting what is left of the human race. What is left of mom's race." Ziggy growled out as she turned on her heels and left the room in a hurry causing everyone to jump when they heard one of the few non machine operated doors slam shut.

"Well, that went well." Chip said in a sarcastic tone of voice.

"Is that normal?" Scott asked as he poked his head in the doorway as he was shocked at how angry Ziggy had gotten. Never had the leader of The RPM Rangers ever thought that Ziggy had such a temper.

"Think of that as magical puberty. It's not that much different than when you hit your teens but add magic powers to that then you are in for the ride of your life." Daggeron said as he shivered a little bit as he thought when Brodie had gotten her powers and also was going through human puberty. That had been a nightmare at times. Mehira had only or so everyone thought would go through human puberty but now that was not the case.

"Only Mehira grew up thinking that she would never get any magical powers and now refuses to believe that she is getting hers. Also you should now that what she said about her always being compared to me is the truth. Not everyone did but quite a few people were always calling her a waste to The Royal Family and that she was nothing compared to me since I was an early bloomer when coming into my powers and was consider a prodigy. People other than family friends and a few others focused their attention on me and hardly ever saw my sister. You can only take so much before you break. Mehira seems to think that because I was always better at many of the things she tried that I now want to take her place here in Corinth because she has found something that she feels that she is better at then I am. But that will never be the case. Please keep this in mind. My sister is very devoted to protecting people as am I so I am only suggesting that she feels that since she is now The RPM Green Ranger that she has a duty even at the cost of her life to protect Corinth which is the same thing that I would do." Brodie told the three rangers with a sigh. It was true that Brodie was better at many things in life but she did hate the way that people would whisper about how weak her sister was. It was like everyone had forgotten that their father Bowen did not come into his magic until he was 20 due to being raised by humans which was not a bad thing as Brodie and her sister did meet their dad's adopted parents who were great and some of the most loving people they had ever met.

"No matter how hard Mehira tried to do something or train people would always say that it was a good thing that I was born first otherwise Briarwood would fall into ruins with a weakling for a future Queen." Brodie told the three with sad eyes. The older twin thought back to a time when someone had made a very nasty comment about her sister who was practicing her sword play and was unaware of who was behind them. Brodie thought that her father was going to kill the man but was stopped by their grandmother who took the man someplace and was gone for a long time. When Udonna and the man had come back from where ever they had been, the man looked like a ghost. It was on that day that everyone knew to keep their mouths shut when it came to The Princesses and their training.

"The thing is that Mehira has to go to Briarwood for her to survive. As I have said, this dome is an artificial environment and is reeking havoc on our powers but Mehira has been here for a year and a half. She needs a real environment or she will die." Brodie said knowing that she was going to have a fight to get her sister to leave Corinth even if it was for a little bit.

Ziggy in the meantime had after she left the garage teleported herself to one of the parks in the city. It was always the same park that she would go to when she needed to think. It wasn't fair. She had found something that she could call her own but her sister always had to steal everything. It wasn't that Ziggy didn't love her sister who she did love with all her heart. It was just that she was so tired of Brodie getting all the praise from everyone because she was so much better than her.

Ziggy knew that her sister was telling the truth about her magical powers as she could feel them coming to the surface but she didn't want to believe that it was true. Not after what had happened that day when she was 13. All Ziggy had every heard when she had hit puberty was that she would never get her powers and was taunted by so many people because of it and because of that she had made herself believe that she would never get any powers relating to magic what so ever. But why of all times, when the human race was threaten with becoming exist did her powers have to surface. When she found something that she was good at? When she had a chance not to be compared to her sister?

All those questions rang in her mind. Just what was she supposed to do? Before Ziggy could think of anything else that could go wrong she felt a surge of energy go through her body. One that was familiar to her since she was born. Korrag was back and he was near but was in human form which caused Ziggy to snarl as the human form would be of her father.

Ziggy jumped up from bench she was sitting on and started to run in the direction of where she felt Korrag's presence come from. That monster would pay for using her father's image and body. The father she loved with all her heart and along with the other Mystic Rangers as well as the friends she had grown up with had never put her down for anything but told her to be herself.

Meanwhile at The Garage.

Brodie jumped up from the couch she was sitting on with a jerk almost hitting Flynn in the face as she did.

"What's wrong?" The Blue RPM Ranger asked as he saw the look on his teammate's twin sister.

"Korrag's in the city. I can feel him but I can't tell just where he is." Brodie replied as she headed to Dr. K's lab followed by Flynn.

"I am in the process of tracking Korrag but it is hard to do since the equipment is used to track machines base and not living." The young Doctor replied as she typed away at her computer.

"Can you track my sister's life-sign with out the morpher?" Brodie asked.

"Yes, I can." Dr. K replied knowing where the older Princess was coming from and started searching for Ziggy based on her life sign and not the energy from the Morpher she wore.

"What'll that do?" Scott asked.

Brodie turned the RPM Red Ranger. "You can't feel it nor can Daggeron, Chip and Xander but I and my sister can. When Ziggy and I battled Korrag the first time we got a sense of his Magic Aura. Think of that like a presence or a feeling or in other words a scent of someone.. Since Korrag has the Aura of our father and his magic we can track him based on that. We know is Aura." The Blue Mystic Force Ranger replied.

"Knowing Ziggy, she's gonna head straight for where ever Korrag is with out calling for help. She does that all the time when she's in this mood to let her anger out but this time it's different. I do believe that she's gonna try and prove to us or more to the point prove to Brodie that she can handle something on her own as she feels that after our talk that we don't have any faith in her and that we were lying to her about her magic powers." Daggeron pointed out as he waited for The young Doctor to find his youngest Goddaughter's life sign.

Ziggy ran as fast as she could to where she felt Korrag was located. The area that Ziggy found herself at was one of the more deserted parts of the city that hadn't been completed when the human race had been forced into Corinth City. It looked like a ghost town from stories where only the bravest or the dumbest would ever go. Ziggy also knew that nobody lived here as Corinth had focused on the parts of the city that were liveable.

The RPM Green Ranger could sense that Korrag was nearby but for some reason could tell where. So using a technique that Daggeron had taught her when she was young that should ever get lost or needed to find something of great importance, Ziggy closed her eyes and let her senses other then her eyes tell her what she needed to know.

Ziggy could smell everything from the air that was recycled to the machines running. She also could smell many things such as the oil from the area as well as a scent that was one that she knew by heart as it was one that she had grown up with since she was born. The scent was one of nature such as trees and the ground but also of the animal world which she smelled the scent of a reptile that she had grown up with. But what got Ziggy was the scent of magical aura. It was one of fire as well as one of love and honor. This was the scent of her father but what was strange was that there was no evil coming from the scent.

Without opening her eyes, Ziggy spun around to catch the fist that she could sense coming from behind her. Once she caught the fist did the young woman open her eyes to see Korrag looking at her in full armor. Ziggy knew just by the way he was standing that he was smirking under the helmet of the armor that her grandfather had once wore as both a villain and as hero.

"Well, it does seem that the youngest Briarwood Princess does know how to tune out the world and relay on herself." Korrag replied in the deep voice of his as he made a move to step back from Ziggy all the while keeping his hand in plain view as a sign of respect as Ziggy had not come to fight him morphed.

"What do you want, Korrag?" Ziggy growled out as she studied the creature in front of her. Other than the fist, Korrag had not made any movements to attack her nor did he have any weapons out in the open but that did not mean that he wouldn't attack so she was on the look out.

"Just to have a little chat with you." Korrag replied as he waved his fingers causing a shield to apper and encase the both of them.

"What is the meaning of this?" Ziggy snarled but made no move for her Morpher as Korrag had not attacked her yet as she knew what this type of shield was. The shield was one that was used for private talking and did not affect anyone's powers.

"As I said, Young One. I am just here to talk." The wolf armored creature replied.

Ziggy narrowed her eyes but decided to let Korrag talk.

Korrag talked to her for what seemed like forever but what was said was something that Ziggy never thought that she would ever hear in her life but she knew what was being said was the truth as her senses were telling her that it was.

"But why?!"

"You are you and no one can take that away from you. You are very much who you wanted to be and so much like who you wanted to be like. Everyone has doubts about many things and you are not the first to have what you have. You have the fire in your heart that you need to be who and what you not what anyone else tells you what you need to be. You ave made your own choice on many a days but did not know that you did. You have found what you want to do on your own and no one will ever be able to take that away from you." Korrag told Ziggy who was looking at him with her eyes wide.

"But..."

"It may seem what you think is happening but your sister would never try and take away something that you have earned. She loves you and just wants to keep you safe. Listen to her before you jump to conclusions about what she said." Korrag told Ziggy before disappearing into a mist.

"Korrag! Wait!" Ziggy yelled as she tried to follow the armored warrior. All of a sudden a surge of familer magic came to her from Korrag. This type of magic was gentle like one a parent would give their child when they needed comfort. "Daddy! Don't Go! Please! Don't leave me!" Ziggy yelled again as she realized that Korrag was not intimating her father but was her father.

A voice was heard through the mist but instead of the gruff voice that Korrag had the voice Ziggy heard was one of love and tenderness. One that meant protection and devotion. It was the voice of Nick Russell, the Red Mystic Force Ranger. Her father and the man that had always been with her.

"I will never leave you alone, My Little Draco. I may not be there for in the flesh but I will be there for you in your heart." Nick's voice spoke through the mist as he used the pet name for his youngest daughter. "Always know that no matter what you do or what you possess or who you become, I will always be proud of you for being who you are. You will find the courage to do what you need to do and I know you will do what your heart tells you and what is the right thing. You don't need to have powers to protect."

Ziggy felt her father's warmth through the voice and the mist that she was in. She finally under stood. She knew that her father loved her with all his heart but she felt like that she had been a disappointment because she had never gotten any magic powers other than a few little tricks. But now she knew the truth. Her father didn't care if she had magic powers or not. He had wanted her to be herself and be true to herself. He had wanted her to choice her own life.

"DAD! I PROMISE YOU THAT I WILL BE WHO I WANT TO BE AND WHO I NEED TO BE!" Ziggy yelled out to the mist as she felt herself be lightheaded.

Ziggy would keep that promise. Powers or not, she was still her own person and knew what she needed to do to keep her mother's race save. She would be The RPM Green Ranger but to do that she would have to leave Corinth to protect the city from herself as she learned how to use her magical powers.

The last thing Ziggy saw before she passed out was the form of her father smiling at her in his Dragon armor with his helmet off.

Next chapter: Ziggy comes to terms with what is happening to her as she finds herself a new person.
