okay, here's the new chapter but like i said in the AN... this might be the last one for a while until i get sorted and am no longer homeless (just over a month to go and still no house in sight... let the panic begin)
The morning after Inuyasha and Kagome's, um- let's say office encounter, was the day that Naraku was meant to be leaving, much to everyone's pleasure. Hence, when they left the dining hall that morning after breakfast they saw no reason to have someone stay with Kagome. A big mistake as it turned out. She was walking down the corridor to go to her room- mostly to see if she would have the time to put some underwear on; Inuyasha having interrupted her again that morning while she was dressing. He didn't like her wearing underwear, said it got in the way- When a hand grabbed her shoulder making her jump and turn around to see who it was. "Most likely Inuyasha after a quick one," she thought as she turned but froze when she saw who it was. It was Naraku.
"Priestess," Naraku muttered as he looked at her a creepy grin on his face.
"Prince Naraku." Kagome stuttered as she stood there.
"You can just call me Naraku." He smiled again.
"Aren't you meant to be leaving?" Kagome asked, wishing for Inuyasha to come and get her.
"I will be but I just came to get something important to me," he smiled yet again, his eyes twinkling in a grotesque way.
"And what would that be?" Kagome asked, dread filling her.
"You." He said simply before he hit her over the head, knocking her out. Picking her up, he carried her bridal style as he walked to where his carriage was waiting for him.
"If only you had just chose me first then there wouldn't need to be this fuss," He muttered as he looked at her face.
"Inuyasha have you seen Kagome?" Sango asked as she walked into the library where Inuyasha was reading, something that you didn't see everyday.
"No, not since breakfast why?" Inuyasha looked up.
"No one has, not since breakfast or Naraku left I've looked all over the palace and I can't find her. I'm worried" Sango looked at the floor.
"You think he's taken her?" Inuyasha stood up, the book falling to the floor, but neither of them noticed.
"Maybe." Sango nodded her head. "He's got almost a whole day on us as well if he has, even if we set off now we wouldn't be able to catch up."
"Check again, get everyone to look, I'll go and talk to Sesshomaru." And with this, Inuyasha strode out of the library, the door slamming behind him.
It didn't take long for Inuyasha to talk to Sesshomaru or the search of the palace to start, and soon finish, but Kagome was nowhere to be found- much to their dismay.
"That bastard!" Inuyasha fumed as he sat on the floor.
"We'd better get ready and set off after them." Sango said, getting ready to go and get her armour when Kohaku came running up.
"We've got a problem," he panted as he reached them.
"What's wrong?" Sango asked, crouching down next to her little brother.
"The horses, they're gone!" Kohaku said, panic clear on his face.
"Naraku must have let them go before he left, to make it harder for us to follow soon after." Koga said, rubbing his chin as he thought.
"What can we do?" Rin asked, tears beginning to fill her eyes.
"Not much we can do at the moment, we'll have to get some new horses from somewhere, it'll take a few days to get them so there's nothing we can do but wait." Miroku said, pulling Sango close to him.
Kagome woke in a moving carriage, her head killing her.
"Where am I?" She rubbed her eyes, trying to figure out why she was in a carriage.
"Going back to my palace, my love." Naraku smiled at her from the seat opposite, making Kagome jump and try and make herself as small as possible.
"Don't fear me," Naraku smiled at her making her skin crawl.
"Why am I here?" Kagome whispered, not trusting her voice if she spoke properly.
"Because you are coming home with me, is something wrong?" Naraku asked, blinking.
"I'm not going home with you, I belong back at the palace," Kagome snapped, suddenly angry.
"You belong with me!" Naraku snarled as he backhanded her, sending her sprawling against her seat before he pressed himself against her, rubbing her breast through the material of her dress.
"You will be mine, how dare you let that half breed touch you." He hissed before pressing his mouth against hers. Kagome's eyes went wide before she bit him. He pulled back, wiping his lip.
"So you're feisty are you? good." He muttered before returning to his seat like nothing had happened.
Kagome curled up in her seat and wished to get back to Inuyasha as soon as she could.
"So they did pass through here then," Inuyasha muttered, rubbing his face with his gloved hand.
"Yes, they passed through a couple of days ago," Miroku said, climbing back up on his horse.
The small group had made it into last village between Inuyasha's palace and Naraku's.
"We should rest Inuyasha, we've not slept yet," Sango called over from a nearby building.
"We can't, we need to get there as soon as we can!" Inuyasha shouted back to her.
"We will be of no good if we are tired and tonight is the night of the new moon, you can't want to travel tonight." Koga leaned over to talk to Inuyasha.
"But we need to get to her as soon as we can, we don't know what he'll do to her," Inuyasha protested only for Sango's Hiraikotsu to hit him on the back of the head.
"What was that for?" Inuyasha snarled, rubbing his head where he'd been struck.
"You're being an idiot!" Sango snapped.
"She's right Inuyasha," Ayame called to him. "We need you rested and back to normal before we can get her."
"He was never normal to begin with," Koga muttered, rubbing his chin.
"I wish Rin could have come with us." Ayame muttered as she leaned against Koga.
"You know Sesshomaru won't let her go if he thinks it's dangerous," Koga muttered, planting a kiss on the top of her head.
"I'm worried, what do you think he wants her for?" Ayame made sure Inuyasha wasn't listening when she spoke.
"I don't know, but I do know it's going to be bad." Koga muttered before shouting at Inuyasha "We're staying the night and that's the end of it!"
"But-" Inuyasha tried to argue but was cut off.
"Do you think Kagome would be happy that you were putting yourself in danger just to get her back? No, you know she would smack you and tell you to get a grip, now are you going to behave or am I going to have to use Hiraikotsu again?" Sango snarled at him, making him blink, Sango could be scary when she wanted to be.
"Fine, just for tonight though." Inuyasha muttered, climbing off his horse and stomping into the inn that they would stay at. "Wait for me Kagome I'm coming to get you." Inuyasha whispered to the night sky as he began to change into a human.
Kagome sat on the bed she was given; shaking. The door was locked, evidently they'd forgot that the room had a lock and she'd used it as soon as she could. She was tired, but didn't dare sleep, she was also hungry, and the last time she'd eaten being the morning that Naraku had taken her. Pulling her legs up to her chest she began to sing to keep the thoughts out of her head
"Just give me a reason
to keep my heart beating
don't worry it's safe right here in my arms
as the world falls apart around us
all we can do is hold on, hold on..."
Kagome stopped as she felt her throat clog with tears, what could she do? She was stuck here until Inuyasha came to get her. She'd been at Naraku's palace for three days already and was too scared to leave the room- what if Naraku… No, no, stop it, don't go there. She stood up and began pacing the room again. When would they come, would they come at all, she couldn't stop the little voice at the back of her head asking that question. No of course they would come, wouldn't they? Blinking back tears Kagome sat down and began the breathing exercises of the priestesses when they were trying to get a vision. Emptying her mind she took a deep breath and felt herself drift away from the room and its locked door. This hadn't happened before, just as she was about to open her eyes she floated down into a inn's room where a man sat in the corner.
"Sorry," Kagome whispered and was about to go when the man spoke.
"Kagome?" he stepped forwards and Kagome blinked, it was Inuyasha, well Inuyasha with black hair and no dog ears, the ears that Kagome loved so much.
"Inuyasha?" Kagome whispered.
"It is you, what are you doing here, did you escape?" He reached out his hands to pull her close but his hands passed right through her.
"No, I was doing priestess stuff and I ended up here," Kagome blinked back tears.
"Are you okay, has he hurt you?" Inuyasha looked over her, he couldn't see anything.
"No, not really he did slap me on the way here and he kissed me and touched me," Kagome whispered the tears slowly falling.
"Don't worry, we won't be long I'll get you and no one will hurt you again so stop crying, okay?" Inuyasha gave her one of his lopsided smiles and Kagome replied with a watery one before she disappeared, leaving Inuyasha alone in the room looking where she'd been.
The small group rode into the courtyard of Naraku's palace two days later.
"My, my, prince Inuyasha what brings you here?" Naraku asked, walking up to them. Inuyasha jumped off his horse and slammed him up against a wall.
"Give me back my wife," Inuyasha snarled, his eyes taking on a slight red tint.
"What makes you think I have her? Maybe she's simply runaway." Naraku replied calmly.
"You took her when you left, don't lie you bastard!" Inuyasha spat but was pulled off Naraku before he could hurt him.
"Let me go Koga," Inuyasha struggled.
"Snotting him isn't going to help you know," Koga huffed in his ear.
"Fine, but let me get him when we go," Inuyasha growled, his fangs showing.
"Fine by me," Koga smirked. "Just leave one for me."
"Like I just said, Prince Inuyasha, the priestess is not here." Naraku said calmly, holding his hands out.
"Yes she is, for one I can smell her and two she came to me in a vision." Inuyasha snapped.
"Oh god, he's finally lost it," Sango muttered, rubbing her forehead.
"I don't think he ever had it to begin with," Miroku muttered back.
"A vision, you are mistaken Prince Inuyasha, I assure you that the priestess is not here." Naraku gave Inuyasha a smile.
"Yes she is," Bankotsu popped up next to them, he'd felt bad about all that had happened and wanted to make it even.
"See even he says that she's here." Inuyasha snapped before suddenly realising what it was that Bankotsu had said. "Wait what? Where is she?" Inuyasha grabbed the front of Bankotsu's shirt pulling him close.
"She's not left the room since she got here, she locked it and won't eat either," Bankotsu said, a look of worry crossing his face.
"Take me to her." Inuyasha let go of him and began to storm into the palace. Inuyasha pushed past the guard that came to stop him like they were children- he followed Bankotsu to a room, its door was locked.
"Kagome, open up please." Bankotsu called, but the door stayed shut.
"Go away, I won't come out!" Kagome called back, her voice quiet.
"Kagome open the damn door," Inuyasha growled, punching it.
"Inuyasha?" Kagome asked.
"Yes it's me now open the door and let me see you." Inuyasha growled again, how could a single flimsy door stand between them.
"How do I know that Naraku's not trying to trick me again?"
"How about I tell you something that only we know?" Inuyasha asked, pressing himself against the door.
"Like what?" Kagome asked, her voice closer so she must have moved closer to the door.
"Your left nipple is more sensitive, you almost come from me just sucking on it." Inuyasha muttered hoping that Bankotsu couldn't hear him, Kagome didn't reply but then he heard the sound of the lock clicking, that was the only warning he got before the door flew open and Kagome flung herself at him. He only just managed to catch her and pull her close to him. She had a slight tang to her scent but if she'd not left the room since she'd been there then that was to be expected. What he didn't like was the faint smell of Naraku that clung to her, well he would have to make her smell of him again.
"Are you okay? Are you hurt?" Inuyasha asked, pressing his nose into her neck and breathing in her scent.
"I'm okay," Kagome said, looking up at him and Inuyasha swore, Kagome had a split lip and a bruised cheek from when Naraku had slapped her, when she'd appeared in front of him the other night they couldn't be seen but they could now.
"I'm going to kill him, I'll pull all his bones out through his nose." Inuyasha snarled, pulling Kagome closer.
"That's disgusting." Kagome wrinkled her nose but winced as it pulled on her lip.
"But he hurt you," Inuyasha frowned.
"Because I said that I belong to you." Kagome gave him a soft smile, "I bit his lip as well."
"Why was his lip near enough to you that you could bite it?" Inuyasha asked his eyes narrowing.
"I did tell you that he kissed me and he, he um, he touched me." Kagome blushed with embarrassment.
"And you still say that I can't kill him." Inuyasha sighed before he looked at Kagome again, she looked awful, she was far too pale, her face too skinny with dark bags under her eyes, add the bruise and split lip and she looked, well, let's not go there.
"Let's get you back, you can sleep on the way." Inuyasha said, picking her up and wrapping his arms around her tightly.
"Sorry about this Inuyasha," Bankotsu said. "I only found out when we stopped for a rest but I couldn't do anything." He hung his head slightly.
"It's okay, I've got her back now." Inuyasha said before he walked back to the others, his prize safely in his arms.
"Priestess Kagome what are you doing here?" Naraku asked when Inuyasha came out.
"You brought her here, you bastard." Sango shouted.
"I can assure you that I didn't, maybe she slipped in the carriage without any of us noticing and hid in the palace."
"If you didn't know she was here why is your scent on her?" Inuyasha snarled, the red tint coming to his eyes again.
"I do not know," Naraku looked at Kagome who tried to curl up in Inuyasha's arms and make herself as small as possible.
"You kissed her, you split her lip when you hit her," Inuyasha roared before he stepped closer to Naraku, much to Kagome's dismay.
"If you go near her again, if you touch her, if you hurt her, I will kill you I promise." Inuyasha hissed before striding to his horse, he helped Kagome onto it and climbed up behind her, he began to leave and the others followed, leaving Naraku standing there.
"You will pay for that Inuyasha," Naraku cursed before he stormed back into his palace to find Bankotsu.
Inuyasha pulled up a while after they set off to check on Kagome, she was okay but it gave him peace of mind to check. The others stopped and dismounted, gathering around them.
"Is she okay? What happened?" Sango asked, crouching next to them.
"She's okay I think, the bastard hit her though," Inuyasha scowled.
"Yeah I can see, it'll heal up pretty soon though," Koga said, putting a hand on Inuyasha's shoulder.
"We'll look after her when she gets back, don't worry," Ayame said.
"I don't think Inuyasha plans to let her out of their room or his sight for a while," Miroku said, a small smile on his face.
"You're right about that." Inuyasha gave a short laugh before he climbed back on the horse with Kagome.
"We'll stop at the first village we come to and stay the night, set off in the morning," Inuyasha said while the others got back on their horses.
They did indeed stop in the first village that they reached. Inuyasha and the others stayed in the inn, all of them in three rooms, Koga was with Ayame, Miroku and Sango in another and Inuyasha and Kagome in the third one. Inuyasha lay Kagome down on the futon while he sat next to her, stroking her hand.
"I'm sorry," Inuyasha whispered.
"It's okay." Kagome whispered back, her eyes fluttering open, she'd fallen asleep not long after they'd set off. Inuyasha gave her a small smile before he leaned over and pressed his lips gently to hers. Kagome smiled into the kiss. Pulling back Inuyasha tugged the covers back and climbed in next to his wife, wrapping his arms around her waist and pulled her close to him, bury his nose in her hair he let out a sigh. Slowly the two lovebirds fell asleep.
It took them longer to get back, mostly because Inuyasha insisted that they stop a lot so that Kagome wasn't too tired, so instead of the normal three days that it took, it was a week before they got back. When they did get back they were attacked by Rin, who didn't wait for Kagome to get off the horse, she pulled her off and into a tight hug.
"Kagome, I've missed you so much!" Rin cried, not letting go.
"Rin, she needs to breathe you know," Sango said gently putting a hand on the younger girls shoulder.
"I was so worried." Rin cried, pulling Sango into the hug this time.
"Rin, if you don't' mind I'm going to take Kagome to bed." Inuyasha said, taking Kagome back into his arms. Taking Kagome up to their room he locked the door behind them and placed her on the bed. He kissed her, his hand creeping up the skirts of her dress.
A few days later, well a few nights later, Inuyasha and Miroku could be found in one of the rooms, rather drunk.
"So what you and Sango doing?" Inuyasha slurred as he looked at his friend.
"I don't know, we spent a night together ages ago and that's it," Miroku muttered before draining his glass.
"Jump in bed with her then." Koga snapped, walking into the room making them look at him.
"Miroku, the room is spinning around," Inuyasha muttered, slumping in his seat.
"Which way?" Miroku asked, leaning against him.
"Clockwise" Inuyasha muttered closing his eyes
"Mine's going counter-clockwise, maybe together we're sober!" Miroku laughed.
"And I'm the queen," Koga scowled as he looked at them.
"I knew you were a girl." Inuyasha laughed and pointed at him.
"Oh god help me," Koga sighed, slapping a hand over his face. "You get back to your wife, and you go jump in Sango's bed or something."
"My legs don't want to work," Inuyasha grinned up at Koga.
"Well make them work, I'm not carrying you."
"But they won't work!" Inuyasha pouted. Koga rubbed his chin before giving a wicked grin when an idea popped into his head.
"I heard that Kagome was waiting for you naked in your bed," Koga whispered into Inuyasha's ear, that seemed to work, Inuyasha stumbled up and out of the door.
"Right let's get you going," Koga muttered before leaning next to Miroku.
Inuyasha burst into his room, Koga had been right, well half right, Kagome had just got out of the shower and was just about to get dressed. About being the important word, she heard the door banging open but before she could turn around she was thrown onto the bed. Looking up she saw the top of Inuyasha's head. She felt Inuyasha's warm wet mouth cover one of her nipples as she reached out and rubbed his ears. She felt him reach between them and pull himself out and waited for him to thrust in, and waited and waited but he didn't, pulling his head back slightly she saw that he'd fallen asleep, her nipple still in his mouth, his hand still between them.
"Bless," Kagome muttered before twisting so that they were on their sides and falling asleep.
The morning after they were sat at breakfast.
"What do you think he'll do?" Sesshomaru asked taking a sip of his drink.
"I don't know, who knows what he's thinking," Inuyasha growled slightly before brightening. "You need to get married Sesshomaru." He grinned as Sesshomaru spat out his drink.
"Inuyasha," Kagome gave him a small slap on the shoulder.
"What it's true, and I know the best person for you," Inuyasha beamed at his older brother his eyes hard.
"And who might that be?" Sesshomaru said icily.
"Rin." Inuyasha smirked as Sesshomaru's eyes widened.
"What are you playing at?" Sesshomaru growled so no one else could understand them.
"What you think I didn't notice that your scent spikes when she comes into a room?" Inuyasha growled back, a grin on his face. "And Kagome saw that you would marry."
"You are determined to get everyone with someone now that you have your woman," Sesshomaru tiredly growled.
"Yes, after you it's Miroku and Sango." Inuyasha grinned.
"Rin come with me," Sesshomaru said standing up, he didn't wait to see if she did what he said, he strode out of the room. The others stayed where they were finishing their breakfast. They didn't wait long really before Rin came running in, grabbing Sango, Ayame and Kagome and pulling them out of the room and into her bedroom, locking the door behind her.
"What is it Rin?" Sango asked, sitting on the bed.
"You'll never guess what." Rin said breathlessly.
"No, so why don't you tell us," Ayame grinned.
"Sesshomaru asked me to marry him!" Rin cried, throwing her hands in the air and twirling around.
"He did?" Sango gasped.
"Like Kagome saw!" Rin ran over to the priestess and hugged her.
"I'm glad," Kagome smiled, patting the top of the girls head.
