Oh my Cas it has been sooooo long since I last updated, I am soooo sorry. Mixture of exams and writers block and tiredness and stuff.
Chapter 13
Dean was on his feet, gun in hand, looking the intruder straight in the eye before Cas had the time to wonder where the hell that gun came from.
"Err…Castiel?" the intruder said, "You wonna tell your pet monkey to put his gun down before he shoots me in the face?" the intruder questioned, not really worried about it, but found the gun-in-face experience an unpleasant one.
"Now why on Earth would I want to do that?" Cas quarried with an undertone of sarcasm, "And don't call them monkeys, or pets, they are neither."
"Cas who the hell is this guy?" Dean asked, not dropping the gun an inch.
"That's my brother," Cas answered with a sigh, "You can put the gun down he isn't going to hurt anyone."
"I am sure you'd kill me first Castiel," the intruder quipped. Dean put his gun down and raised an eyebrow at Cas with the question of 'well?' clearly shown on his face.
"Dean this is Balthazar, Balthazar this is Dean Winchester," Cas introduced the pair.
"The Dean Winchester?" Balthazar questioned, "The one you got yourself locked up for?"
"Yes," Cas replied, feeling slightly uncomfortable, and a little worried about how Balthazar was going to react to Dean.
"Why does he have a sense of… you about him?" Balthazar asked Cas as his eyes flicked between the pair, resting on Dean's shoulder.
"So why are you here Balthazar?" Cas asked in a raised voice.
"That was an obvious subject change Castiel, but I'll bite," Balthazar's face suddenly turned serious, "We've got a problem."
"What kind of problem?" Cas asked taking a few steps closer to Balthazar, not wasting anytime.
"Well your boring, following orders, lower ranked angel fans have rebelled," Balthazar answered with a quip of annoyance.
Cas took a second to recover from the shock before he asked; "What do you mean rebelled?"
"Exactly what I said Castiel," Balthazar answered.
"Stop messing about," Dean stepped in, shocking the angels slightly as they almost forget he was in the room, "He means more detail, when, how, why."
"It happened shortly after you were banished Castiel, after all the other angels found out, and they're angry about it," Balthazar stated.
"Angry? Angry about what? Angry at who?" Cas questioned.
"Stop being modest Castiel!" Balthazar snapped, "They're angry at the higher ups for banishing you!"
There was a tension in the air as an uncomfortable silence fell upon the three men. Cas looked surprised and almost a little honoured (though Cas always says that it was a look of disgust (yeah, right)) before his expression became that of thunder as he stepped towards Balthazar.
"They did what?" Cas demanded in a low voice that, even with the bond of trust and all, still scared Dean a little. He'd never seen Cas's face quite so dark, "What happened?"
"I don't really know," Balthazar began, also looking a little afraid of Cas, "The guys were upset about the whole kick-start the apocalypse thing but they were beginning to get over it," he seemed disgusted that the angels were getting over it so quickly (that's when Dean decided he wasn't half bad), "But then they heard you had been banished and they went ballistic!" Balthazar paused to collect himself, "I don't know whether it's that they love you, or that you were the one who fought against the apocalypse or both, but they want you back Castiel, and they want you to rule."
"Rule!" Cas screeched (he denies), "I'm not ruling! I don't even like Heaven or angels, and I'm quite content down here thanks!"
"I do not believe they are asking for your opinion or know that Castiel!" Balthazar shouted back.
"What do you mean 'they don't know that'? Of course they know that! I do nothing but complain about Heaven and the angels!" Cas shouted in answer.
"They have never heard you complain about them in a general sense!" Balthazar shouted back, "They have only heard you complain about how Heaven is run and the higher angels' orders! I'm not surprise they took that as you wanting to overthrow and rule yourself!"
There was a moment of stunned silence between them all before Charlie and Bobby ran in, guns pointing at the intruder, having heard the shouting from downstairs.
"Oh great," Balthazar signed, "more monkeys," Cas shot him a glare at that.
"What in Hell is goin' on up here and who the hell are you?" Bobby said in his quite but demanding voice.
"Balthazar, Charlie and Bobby. Friends, brother," Cas fired of, gesturing in the appropriate directions, not really in the mood for long winded introductions.
"Why're you so moody?" Charlie asked, obviously noticing Cas's bad mood.
"He's annoyed that people worship him," Balthazar replied with an undertone of sarciness (or however your spell it).
"They don't worship me," Cas sighed.
"Yes they do, they built statues," Balthazar said.
"What?!" Cas squeaked, before giving up and flopping onto the bed, face first, "Can you all please leave the room and come back in the morning so I can process this," Cas mumbled into the covers.
Everyone hovered for a moment, before they decided they should probably do as he says. Bobby and Charlie lead the herd, dragging Balthazar with them, even though he protested and said he should probably just leave and come back later. Dean hovered in the doorway a moment more before taking a step out, only to be interrupted in his movements.
"You can stay Dean," Cas mumbled from his place on the bed. Dean then turned around, and walked back in. He sat on the edge of the bed just staring at Cas who was still spread out on the bed.
"You gonna move anytime soon?" Dean questioned when Cas hadn't moved an inch. It took a moment more till Cas turned round and moved over, allowing Dean onto the bed properly, who propped himself up on the headboard. Cas then proceeded to crawl onto Dean's lap, laying his head onto of Dean's heart.
"You'll 'right there then Cas the Cat?" Dean asked with a chuckle.
"Very comfortable thank you, but I am not a cat," Cas replied.
"Look like a cat to me."
"Shut up."
They lay there in silence for a few moments until Dean spoke up.
"Is this going to be a problem?"
"Yes," Cas sighed, "It is going to be a very big problem."
