Disclaimer: I still miss Cote

A/N: … I'm ashamed of how long it's been since I've updated… Please forgive me! But I just got my LICENSE on Fridays and its Christmas Eve now so isn't that great? Okay. To the story which I have had to reread to figure out where we are. I should probably write and update for y'all because it's been so long. And I still don't have school because weather here is CRAZY! It was supposed to start today but today has been cancelled and so has tomorrow so we'll see what my creative mind can crank out. Also. I looked up Tony and Ziva's characters birthdays and in real life, the actors are 11 years apart but in the show, they are 14 years apart! 1968 to 1982… For the point of this story, I'm going to say they are only 11 years apart like the actors because 14 makes Tony too old and Ziva too young.

Update: So no one knows where Chris is (Including me) and Tony, Ziva, and Sadie are at a safe house. They've only been there for one night. McGee and Gibbs went to the CIA HQ because they are tied into this somehow. Christopher and Bethany Moore are dead along with Dylan, Christopher's brother. CIA hasn't given any good information yet but Vance helped Stonewall Kirkland (CIA Director) to get the files which our lovely McGee will figure through. Ziva and Tony slept in the fort with Sadie and Ziva wakes up to Tony, but no Ziva. She tries to squirm away from him but he's holding her in his sleep. A glass breaks and Ziva breaks free and runs to the kitchen to find Sadie who only wanted a drink but managed to drop a glass. Tickling ensues and things get awkward, just how I like it. NOW ON TO THE STORY!

Ziva made pancakes with Sadie standing on her tippy-toes and trying to help. Each golden brown pancake was fried and flipped, then added to a stack. Tony was folding blankets and putting them back into closets, re-making the bed, and resituating the living room furniture. He worked quickly so he would get to eat the pancakes while they were still warm. He was silently berating himself for letting his emotions go earlier. Stroking Ziva's thigh? What was he thinking? They were partners taking care of a scared little girl after failing to protect her brother.

Tony finished throwing the pillows on the bed before grabbing a change of clothes and taking a lightning quick shower. He returned to find the girls at the table. Sadie was drowning her pancake in syrup while Ziva tried to wipe off her face, which was pointless because it was only going to get sticky all over again. Ziva finally sighed and looked up to see Tony standing against at the entrance to the hallway, watching them. His hair was slightly damp from the shower but she could tell he was laughing at her. She gave him a sarcastic glare and he joined them at the table.

"TONYYYY!" Squealed Sadie, launching to give him a hug, but Ziva was able to restrain her and her sticky hands.

"You can hug Tony after breakfast. We do not want to get him sticky do we?" Sadie shook her head before throwing him a toothy smile and digging in again. Tony served himself a few pancakes and poured enough syrup on them to rival Sadie's Syrup flood. Ziva ate hers with only a bit of butter. Of course, thought Tony, she is such a health nut.

Sadie didn't end up getting her hug from Tony after breakfast. Ziva whisked her away to the shower after Tony reassured her that the spiders were not there. Tony cleaned up the dishes, slightly pouting at the 'women's work' he was being forced to do. But Ziva had made the breakfast after all. He finished and wiped down the counters before collapsing on the couch to find something to watch on TV. He flipped through the channels before finding an old western that would hold his interest while he checked his phone. He didn't have and missed calls or texts, thank god because Gibbs would kill him. His email was full and he started deleting the pointless email until he found one from McGee.

Tony and Ziva,

We got the CIA to cave and they sent the un-blacked files over, finally. Abby and I are going over them now but will need some help. Gibbs is thinking about breaking you out of the safe house. I think he has an idea but he isn't sharing so I'll let you know when he gives us a clue. We'll call when we are coming. Still nothing on Chris, I am positive we are missing something. Abby wants to run a DNA test on Sadie and Chris. She's suspicious.

McGee

Sadie came bounding out of the bedroom and rounded the couch before jumping onto Tony, who let out a groan as he knees dug into his stomach.

"Morning Princess. You look… Abby-ish." He said gently, eliciting a huge grin from her. Ziva had dressed her in a pink skirt with black leggings and a black t-shirt with a skull, probably from Abby. "Hey Zi." Tony called loudly over his shoulder, but receiving no answer. He tried again before Sadie informed him that she was taking a shower.

"What's this movie?" she asked, snuggling down to his side.

"It's actually a 1950's TV show about a town out West." He said.

"Wow. That's like as old as you!" she said innocently.

Tony looked her straight in the eyes, "How old do you think I am little missy?" he asked mischievously.

"Ummmm. I don't know. My mommy was 32 and you are way older than she is! I bet you are 50!" Tony mocked a hurt pride, moaning about his ego and graying hair.

"Do you see any gray hair?" He asked, motioning to his head. Sadie investigated before poking a spot near his ear.

"Right there! I found one!" She yelled.

"What! I don't have gray hair! Only old people have gray hair!" Sadie giggled.

"Well you are old. You are 50!"

"No I'm not silly. I'm 42 years young."

"Ha." Said a voice from behind them.

"Have something to say Miss David?" He scoffed without turning around.

"No." she said, coming around the couch to sit at the other end.

"Ziva! How old are you?" asked Sadie, standing up on the couch to face her before plopping back into Tony's lap.

"I think she should guess." Said Tony. Ziva eyed him suspiciously. "She said I was 50." He deadpanned and Ziva started laughing.

"Bet that was an ego booster." She said through the chuckles. "How old do you think I am Sadie?"

"You are about the same age as my mom so I'm guessing 32." Ziva cocked her head at him.

"Not bad." She said.

"Was I right?" Sadie asked excitedly, leaning forward expectantly.

"Not quite." Answered Tony. "She's one year older than your mom."

"I was so close!"

"Yeah you were. Good job at guessing. You might have Gibbs's gut after all." Said Tony, giving her a high five.

Tony's phone started ringing and the caller ID flashed McGee's name.

"Hey McProbie." He answered.

"Hi Probie!" Shouted Sadie into Tony's ear. Ziva pulled her off of Tony's lap so he could listen to McGee.

"Tell them I say hi back."

"McGee says Hi and he misses us all so much and never wants us to leave him again."

"Tony, that's not what I said. Tell them I didn't really say all of that!"

"Get over it McMenopause." Ziva laughed and guessed that her colleague was whining about what Tony said he said.

"That's not even funny."

"Ziva and I think it is. Now what's up."

"Whatever Tony. You guys always laugh at everything. Anyways. Abby still had blood from the blood Ducky drew. She ran a DNA check on them."

"And?" Asked Tony, standing up and walking to look out a window, sensing McGee's anxious tone.

"Christopher Moore wasn't their father. Bethany was their mom but we don't know the dad."

"What? What do you mean? Who is their dad then?" he asked, hushing his tone after getting questioning looks from Ziva.

"We aren't sure. We are running it through all the Data Bases but I'm guessing –"

"That if he doesn't show up then something is going on with the paternity because otherwise we should be able to find out who he is." Tony finished.

"Yeah. The dad might be who took Chris back, but we don't know who he is. He could be the guy who came and left the apartment the night she died, r he could be Bethany's killer, but why would he poison and kill his family?"

"Obviously she wouldn't tell anyone he was the father. He killed her so he could get custody –"

"Why would he wait to take Chris and then not take Sadie? And why were they poisoned?"

"I don't know! When are you coming to get us? We can help you more there."

"As soon as Gibbs comes back from wherever he went."

"Thanks McGee."

"Welcome."

Tony turned to see Ziva standing a few feet behind him. Sadie was on the couch, watching men ride around on horses. Ziva was slightly leaning on one of the dining room table chairs, one hand on her hip, the other one nervously twirling her hair.

"Tony." She said quietly. Questioningly.

"Christopher Moore wasn't their biological father."

A/N: Again, sorry about the wait. I know I'm awful. Hope you like the Plot twist!
