A Bakugan Love Story: Spencer's First Battle
Spencer watched as both his friends were beat bad by their opposites. Spencer also knew that his turn was now coming up. He took a deep breath and got up from his seat in the stand.
"Good luck son." Spectra said to him.
Keith still had his Spectra outfit yet since he wanted to watch the battles.
"Thanks dad." Spencer said.
He went down to the entrance of the area where both his friends stood. Both had their heads down.
"We got our butts handed to us." Sam said.
"Most definitely." Eric agreed.
Spencer walked up to them, "Don't worry guys. We have a long way to go before we are like those guys. The professionals." Spencer told them.
"Yea we know." Both Sam and Eric said.
"Almost my turn. Wish me luck." Spencer said, walking past them.
"Good luck." Eric said.
"You'll need it." Sam said under his breath.
His two friends walked away and back up into the stands with their parents. Spencer waited in the tunnel entrance of the arena, waiting for him to be called up. He took a deep breath, his nerves were starting to get to him. Apollo popped out of Spencer's pocket and went on his shoulder.
"Don't worry Spenc. If we win or lose, we will give it our all. When you loss, it only makes you a little stronger. Remember that." Apollo told him.
"Thanks Apollo." Spencer thanked. "I'm so glad to call you my partner."
"Am I'm glad to call you my partner as well." Apollo said.
Soon the lights dimmed and focused on Marucho in the middle of the arena.
"Alright everyone. We have one battle left for you all!" Marucho announced.
The people cheered.
"Our last battle of the day will be Gus Grav versus Spencer Clay!" Marucho said.
Alexandria clapped and whistled as her sons name was mentioned. Spectra sat next to her with his legs crossed as he looked down at the arena.
Spencer took another breath as he walked out into the arena, the bright lights blinded him for a second, but then he saw all the whole arena. It was bigger than he thought from down here compared to up in the stands. He saw Gus then walk in from the other side of the field.
"Hope your ready Spencer." Gus said with a smirk.
"It's my first real battle. I'm glad I'm facing you Uncle Gus." Spencer said.
Spencer has been calling Gus 'Uncle' since he was young.
"Well them I am honored." Gus took a slight bow. "May you show me a good battle."
"Alright, lets get this battle under way." Marucho said and the field started to appear in front of them. "May the battle commence!"
Marucho ran off the field.
"Field open!" Both said.
"Gate card set!" Gus said.
Gus grabbed Vulcan.
"Bakugan brawl!" Gus yelled as he threw his bakugan. "Rex Vulcan stand!"
In a bright orange light, Vulcan appeared.
Spencer looked up at Vulcan with a little bit of fear. He has never seen Vulcan in his bakugan form before. He swallowed his fear.
"Ready Apollo?" Spencer asked, getting into a ready stance.
"Let's go!" Apollo said, closing himself up.
Spencer grabbed Apollo.
"Bakugan Brawl!" Spencer threw Apollo.
In a wave of fire, Apollo stood in a ready fighting stance.
"Bakugan stand! Pyrus Apolloight!"
Apollo was a little smaller then Vulcan, he only came up to his chin.
"I won't go easy on you." Vulcan said.
"I don't want you to." Apollo said.
"That's the real fighting spirt." Vulcan told him.
"Apollo go, use Musical Notes of Fire!" Spencer ordered.
Apollo roared and he started to make it sound like a song. Soon music notes appeared around him and he let the stream of notes go towards Vulcan. The notes wrapped around Vulcan's body and he tried to get out of them, but soon the notes exploded. Smoke surrounded where Vulcan stood.
"Hyper Impact!" Gus said.
Soon the smoke around Vulcan started to swirl and Vulcan's hands shot out from the smoke. Apollo jumped, but then the fists hit him in the back while in the air. Apollo crashed to the ground.
"You ok Apollo?" Spencer asked.
Apollo jumped up, "I'm fine."
"Good. Now. Ability activate! Fire Arrow!" Spencer yelled.
Apollo got on one knee and got his bow from his back and grabbed four arrows. He lit them on fire and then shoot them at Vulcan. Vulcan stood still and put his arms up and the arrows just bounced off the armor. Apollo got frustrated. He stood up and put one arrow in this bow, then ran at Vulcan.
"Come on boy. Show me those bow skills you have." Vulcan taunted.
Apollo smirked and then jumped into the air. Vulcan was expecting him to land behind him so he turned around, but Apollo used his wings to change direction and landed beside him and he shot the arrow into Vulcan's side. Vulcan yelled and turned to Apollo.
Apollo smirked.
"Why you!" Vulcan yelled.
Vulcan opened his hands and his cannons formed and he started to shot at Apollo. Apollo took off into the sky. Trying to avoid the attacks.
"Gate card open!" Gus said.
The field glowed orange.
Apollo then froze in the air and his feet were slowly turning to rock. He couldn't hold the weight and started to fall. Vulcan's attack hit his wing and he was send spiraling to the ground.
"Apollo!" Spencer got worried he tried to think of what to do.
Spencer didn't think fast enough as Apollo went crashing into the ground and then went back into ball from at his feet. Spencer picked him up.
"Apollo you ok!" Spencer asked him.
Apollo opened up, "I'm ok. I'm not use to hitting the ground that hard." Apollo answered.
Spencer looked up at Gus who caught Vulcan's ball form.
"Nice one Spencer." Gus said. "I want to see more."
Spencer nodded.
"Gate card set!" Spencer threw his gate card down.
He grabbed Apollo, "You are fast Apollo, use that to your advantage." Spencer told him.
"Bakugan brawl." He threw Apollo onto the field, "Apollo stand!"
Gus grabbed Vulcan, "Bakugan brawl!" He threw the Vulcan and landed in the field, "Vulcan stand."
"Ability activate! Extreme Fire Blast!" Spencer yelled.
Apollo got in a ready stance and opened his mouth and a giant ball of white flame start to form. He shoot multiple targets at Vulcan.
"Vulcan, Mega Viblow." Gus said.
Vulcan put his hands up and the attack hit an inviable shield.
"Now, Fusion Ability activate. Drill Booster. Plus Hammer Knuckle." Gus ordered.
Vulcan had drills go on his hand and they started to spin. They soon shoot off towards Apollo.
"Apollo defense ability, Fire Light Shield." Spencer said.
Apollo put his hands up and made a shield of fire. The drills hit into the shield and it started to push Apollo back. With a lot of strength, Apollo pushed back on the on the dill and sent them spiraling back to Vulcan.
"Now Apollo, Blinding Light!" Spencer demanded.
Apollo's body then started to glow. Spencer took a pair of sunglasses out of his pocket and put them on. Apollo then started to glow so bright, it blinded Vulcan and everyone in the stands tried to shield their eyes.
"Sun Beam, Apollo!" Spencer yelled.
Apollo put his hands in front of his chest and a ball of fire formed. When it was big enough he threw it towards Vulcan. Vulcan was blinded and could not see the attack. When it hit him, he flew back a little and hit into a rock wall.
"Gate card open." Spencer said, "This will raise your speed. Now go Apollo, attack. Use your fighting skills." Spencer told him.
Apollo shot forward and went to jump kick, it connected with Vulcan's chest. Apollo went to punch Vulcan and it connected with the side of his face. Apollo grabbed Vulcan's horns and kneed him in the face. Apollo went to kick him in the head, but Vulcan grabbed his foot.
"Not so fast 'Mr. Karate Kid.'" Vulcan joked.
Vulcan punched Apollo in the chest then threw him up into the air. Vulcan used the rockets on his feet and flew into the air after Apollo, he put his fists out and tried to double punch him. Apollo got control back in the air and saw Vulcan, Apollo smirked.
Apollo grabbed one of Vulcan's hands and twisted it and threw Vulcan over his shoulder and down to the ground.
"While he is falling Apollo, Special Ability, Fire Dragon Arrow!" Spencer said, excitement in his voice.
Apollo closed his eyes and his arrow shaped scar started to glow. He got his bow and one arrow and started to charge his power. Soon he let the arrow loss fire started to surround the arrow and headed down at Vulcan. Vulcan hit the ground first and opened his eyes to see the fire around the arrow take shape into a dragon.
"Oh no." Was all Vulcan said.
The arrow crashed down on Vulcan and it made a big explosion. He was sent back in ball from at Gus's feet.
Spencer jumped up, "Way to go Apollo!"
Apollo gave him a thumbs up and went back to him in ball form.
"We're tied now. One more round." Spencer said.
"This is so much fun." Apollo said.
"Gate card set." Gus said and threw the card down.
"Bakugan brawl!" He threw Vulcan. "Bakugan stand!"
Spencer threw Apollo, "Go Apollo!"
Gus was the first one to call an attack, "Hammer Knuckles."
Vulcan shot forward and let his fists do that talking as he started to attack Apollo. Apollo was surprised at his speed and was trying to block the attacks, but to no avail. Apollo fell to the ground. Apollo kicked with both legs and send Vulcan flying back.
"Sun Beam." Spencer said.
Apollo formed the ball of fire and set it toward Vulcan.
"Hyper Aegis!" Gus said.
Vulcan put his hands up and the attack disappeared.
Apollo growled in frustration.
"Apollo don't get mad. Focus." Spencer reminded him.
"Drill booster and Hammer Knuckle." Gus active the cards at once.
The drills on Vulcan's hands came back and started to spin and Vulcan let them loss on Apollo.
"Fire Light Shield." Apollo said real fast.
He put his shield up and the attack was trying to get through. While the drills were at him, Apollo took the opportunity to attack Vulcan.
"Extreme Fire Blast." Apollo yelled.
He shot the ball of fire from his mouth at Vulcan.
"Hyper Aegis." Gus said calmly.
The attack disappeared and more G power was added to Vulcan.
"Apollo stop. Listen to my orders. You're to mad." Spencer to him.
Apollo's arrow scar lit up and he let out a roar.
"Musical Notes of Fire." Apollo said, but his voice was a little deeper.
"Apollo! Please!" Spencer yelled.
Alexandria watched this happening from the stands, both Pyro and her knew what was happening.
"No, no. Not Apollo too." Pyro said with sadness.
Alexandria got frantic.
"Gus do something! Finish the battle!" Alexandria yelled down to him.
Gus looked up at Alexandria worried, but knew what he had to do.
"Drill Booster again! Plus Hyper Impact." Gus said.
Vulcan's drills went right to Apollo so face, Apollo couldn't react in time. Apollo went back into ball from at Spencer's feet. Spencer feared to pick him up.
"The winner of the battle is Gus Grav!" Marucho announced.
Everyone cheered.
Alexandria, Spectra and the others ran down to the arena.
Spencer just looked down at Apollo. Apollo opened up with a groan
"What happened? I like blacked out or something." Apollo said.
Spencer said nothing to him and stepped away from him.
"Spenc? What's wrong?" Apollo asked.
Apollo flew up to Spencer, but he backed away. Spencer saw Alexandria running down the tunnel and he ran to her.
Alexandria kneeled down and held Spencer in her arms.
Spencer started to cry.
"What is wrong with Apollo mommy? Why did he seem so scary?" Spencer cried.
Alexandria put her hand threw Spencer's hair.
"Shh, its ok sweetheart. Apollo's powers started to take over and he was losing control." Alexandria explained to him.
Spencer looked up at his mom, "But I thought his powers were under control?" Spencer asked.
Alexandria sighed, "Apparently not." Alex looked towards Pyro, "Go talk to Apollo. Take him to the mountains."
Pyro nodded, "Way ahead of you."
Pyro flew over to Apollo who was a little worried about Spencer.
"Mom what happened?" Apollo asked her.
"Come with me son. We need to talk." Pyro said.
Apollo nodded sadly.
Both Bakugan went to the middle of the arena and transformed out of their ball forms. They then flew off towards the mountains.
Helios looked over to Spectra, "Can I go Spectra?"
Spectra nodded, "Go to them."
Helios transformed and followed his mate and son.
Spectra looked down at Spencer and went down to him. He took off his mask.
"Sorry this happened son. We'll make it up to you." Keith said.
Spencer looked to his father and hugged him.
"Its ok daddy." Spencer said.
"Let's go home and talk this over." Keith suggested.
"I agree." Alexandria said.
Alex looked back to her friends.
"We should all get home. Its been a rough day. Thank you everyone for coming here today." Alexandria thanked.
Shun bowed and started to walk. Gus wrapped his arm around Mira and they went through a portal back home. Spencer's friends said bye to him and everyone left. The Clay family all headed home as well. They all headed to the car and drove home.
