Chapter 14

~Zoo Trip Part 1~

Ah the awaited arrival of field trip day. Parents taking precautions, kids scrambling about to get ready, certain kindergarten teacher getting various snacks to come. At least that's what Kakashi was doing at the moment for at least half an hour already, working his way up and down the aisles figuring out snack portions and various other details. Kakashi turns down the candy aisle pondering on whether or not to get chocolate for kids later. Stopping to inspect a certain type of candy, Kakashi head his name from down the aisle being yelled. He turns to see who it is when said person is right in front of his face.

"Ah! Damn way to scare me Obito."

"Is that anyway to talk to a very close friend Kakashi, I am beyond hurt at the gesture."

"Oh please. By the way what are you doing here?"

"Well had to pick up some things for the guys at work."

"Interesting, and what might that be?"

"Well some energy drinks and junk food."

"Typical, that's such a diet right there."

"Oh shove off it, by the way what you doing here?"

"Well of course it's the zoo field trip today wanted to pick up some things for the kids of course."

"Right I forgot, ya nervous at all?"

"What should I be nervous about?"

"Well for one you don't want to lose any kids, two they could very well get eaten by vicious man eating monster anim-," Kakashi interrupted Obito before he could continue his ranting.

"Okay I get it," he paused to glare at his friend, "I think I'll manage their also be other adults around as well. Besides I can do this cut me some slack here."

"Hm...Well don't be a sour puss and enjoy your day."

"Yes mother I know," Kakashi answered before rolling his eyes on the matter.

"Hey man positive thinking is the key in these situations."

"Whatever Obito get back to work you lazy ass," this time Obito rolled his eyes and scurried off but not before telling Kakashi to meet him at the pub later tonight for their daily gossip. Yes men gossip and have discussions just as much if not more than women do. Least Kakashi thought so; the way Obito complained about his work was annoying but funny to hear occasionally reminded Kakashi about bickering ladies fighting over a pair of heels or lipstick. Now back to the main problem he thought…..chocolate or no chocolate? That is the question? Shaking his head lightly and deciding what the hell these kids deserve a little treat every now and then Kakashi picked up the small Hershey's bag on the counter. In less than 15 minutes Kakashi paid all his things and exited out of the building. Hurrying towards his car he set the things in the back, then walked towards the front but as he was about to open the door his phone beeped. Glancing down he realized that it was 8:15am, cursing lightly he quickly got into his car and started the engine exiting out of the parking spot in record breaking time. While he's driving like a lunatic on his high horse Kakashi cursed again. Shit, I'm late he thought sheepishly.

Sasuke couldn't believe his teacher was late yet again; he was the one everyone was waiting on in the front lobby of the school. The man has been late on more than one occasion getting to this school. Technically speaking though they we're also waiting for the big yellow school bus to arrive, which would take them to the zoo. He was about to think on it more when Naruto came out of nowhere and so did his parents along with him.

"Good morning Sasuke," all three said at the same time greeting the raven haired boy.

"Good morning," he said.

"Sasuke how's your mother," Kushina said.

"She's doing well I guess," he managed to say without cringing.

"That's good," she smiled before turning towards her son, "Come on guys we got to pick our seats on the bus," she turned back towards Sasuke, "You too as well."

"It's not," Sasuke didn't finish for the big yellow school bus actually did arrive when he looked out the front lobby window, "Well guess we will."

"Good let's go guys," Minato said towards his family and the little raven. The rest of the class followed suit right behind them, and Sasuke couldn't help but gasp at how shiny the bus was. Though only he stopped briefly when he and Minato both heard a screech near the parking lot. Then they both saw Mr. Hatake appearing behind the school bus with bags of groceries. Minato generously came over to help the poor teacher.

"Late I see Mr. Hatake?"

"You could say that, thank you," he said while giving Minato some bags to carry. Both men carried the bags and caught up to the others; everyone started boarding the bus once they saw Kakashi. He himself though was stopped by the front door of the bus by Tsunade.

"Be careful and call me if anything happens, well…erm you know what I mean," Kakashi nodded giving her a pat on the shoulder before disappearing into the bus. Tsunade shook her head lightly and started whistling walking away from the bus in the process. Kakashi looked around to find a seat and when he couldn't find any he was at a loss till a small hand grabbed his shirt on the right. Looking down he see's Sasuke scowling before scooting over to the window in his seat.

"Could I sit here Sasuke?"

"Duh that's why I scooted over for you," the little raven said before he went back to looking out the window. Kakashi clearly rolled his eyes and sat down without any worries putting the groceries on the floor near Sasuke. Sasuke looked up giving him a glare then looked back out the window. Kakashi couldn't help but sigh heavily before he looked at his little clipboard on his lap, standing up he did a head count of everyone and called each individual name out before sitting back down. He gave the bus drive a go ahead nod for him to proceed to driving towards the zoo. Everyone was accounted for and present, yawning lightly Kakashi had a happy glow to him so far so good. Suddenly a beep was heard you would have to have super human ears to hear through a crowded school bus but Kakashi also put his phone on vibrate he checked it briefly. NEW TEXT MESSAGE flashed brightly like a neon light going on and off.

HEY TARD BE SAFE ALSO DON'T FORGET! _

Rolling his eyes and chuckling softly he knew it was from Obito, so he texted backs something as equally silly and trivial.

AS IF I COULD BE THE ONE TO FORGET IF ANYTHING IT WOULD BE YOU

He had send the text immediately after he thought of it, and was about to lean back in his seat to rest his eyes when he could feel a tug at his shirt again. Opening one eye briefly he glanced at the culprit who had a little tight grip on his shirt.

"What's up Sasuke?"

"What we're you doing?"

"Ah nothing much but texting a dear friend you could say," Kakashi smiled a little.

"Oh," the little raven mumbled before he let go of Kakashi shirt easily and brought his attention back towards the window. Kakashi frowned slightly wondering what was wrong with Sasuke, it has only been 10 minutes since they've been driving. He thought more on it before he grinned and came up with a solution.

"Sasuke?"

"Yeah?"

"Let's play a game."

"I…well what kind?"

"How about I spy, easy enough eh?"

"Hm…I guess."

"Alright I'll start," Kakashi briefly looked around the bus before spotting his eye on something, "I spy with my little eye something beginning with the color gray." The little raven sat up, while the bus was moving, and peeked his little head out to look around.

"Is it the ceiling of the bus?"

"Not quite guess again," Kakashi said before giving him a reassuring smile.

"Is it….," Sasuke paused before looking quickly looking around again, grinning he turned back around, "Kiba's hoodie?"

"Right you are Sasuke nicely done. Now it's your turn," the little raven nodded proudly before turning around again to spot anything he could say or use. For about a minute he couldn't find anything till he spotted something with glee.

"I spy with my eye something beginning with the letter k."

"K…well let's see," Kakashi briefly glanced around the bus and turned back towards Sasuke, "Is it the kitty doll Ino has playing with Sakura?"

"Nope but good guess, it also has a gray in it as well but also takes the shape of something we see every day," the little raven shrugged while smiling. Kakashi just chuckled at this brat's cheeky ness and glance again around the room. He spotted something that could be it.

"Is it Shino Dad's keychain necklace around his neck?"

"Yeah," Sasuke mumbled that Kakashi got it, he wanted to stomp his teacher if only for a little longer. He shook his head a little man he's getting a little headache maybe he shouldn't have sat up so quickly while searching for Mr. Hatake riddle of I spy.

"It's alright I am sure you'll hey…what's wrong?"

"My head…," Sasuke mumbled briefly before putting a hand on his forehead.

"Are you getting carsick?"

"Yes," the child said weakly.

"Why don't you lie down..," Kakashi maneuvered Sasuke and directed him to lay down using Kakashi's lap as a pillow. Sasuke couldn't help but be a little embarrassed he knew he gets carsick sometimes but he didn't know this bus would also get him carsick as well. He glanced up at Kakashi briefly and was about to move so but Kakashi stopped him.

"Shush little one you need sleep so take a rest. I'll wake you up once we're there."

"Okay," Sasuke managed before he slowly drifted off to sleep on Kakashi's lap. Kakashi smiled while looking down at the little raven haired boy and turned towards the window seeing the other cars passing by with the scenery. He couldn't help but think how he called Sasuke little one it was as if….a father switch opened up in his heart briefly. It kind of made him happy he takes care to his students like this and kind of nervous. Shaking his head Kakashi leans back in his seat and closes his eyes again, slowly drifting off to sleep like Sasuke while hearing the various conversations around him.
