Morticia Takes Her Medication

Chapter Fourteen: Normal Once Again

Sorry for the long wait everyone please enjoy.

The sun peaked through the closed blinds in the Addams family home hold causing a certain doctor to awaken from her slumber. She opened her eyes letting the darkness welcome her, soon her eyes adjusted and she looked around the room. The whole rooms color was black from the blinds to the bed sheets she was carefully tucked under. Dr. Helens sat up in the queen size bed and noticed she was in a pair of black satin Pajamas.

"Your awake." a familiar voice said.

Victoria looked to the door and there stood Morticia Addams with her warm smile upon her lips. Morticia walked over and sat down on the side of the bed.

"You are probably wondering how you got here." Morticia asked.

"Yes, in fact I am." Dr. Helens said.

"When you fell asleep in the clinic I thought it would be best to take you away from there so you could finally rest. The nurses at the clinic agreed.

Dr. Helens could do nothing but smile; she had to admit she did feel much better. The headaches were gone and she felt refreshed. The young doctor stretched yawning loudly.

"Thank you, but I must ask how long I have been asleep." Victoria asked with a hint of curiosity.

Morticia's sat there for a moment pondering over the question before looking back at the young doctor.

"Let's see you've been asleep for about three days, you were really tired and I thought it was best not to wake you." Morticia replied.

Victoria was surprised by the answer she didn't know she was that tired but it did work out for the best. Morticia noticed the doctor was looking around the room she pointed to the Gothic style chair which held a suit case with a white jacket hung over the chairs spine.

"We found your suit case on the passenger seat in your car." Morticia said.

"Again, I must thank you Mrs. Addams." Dr. Helens said politely.

"Enough of the formalities Victoria we are friends now." Morticia replied.

Dr. Helens smiled once more she was right of course they have gone beyond formalities and were now friends and she had to say Morticia would be her first true friend and she liked it.

Morticia stood up and walked back to the door, she turned around with across her lips when she heard the loud rumble of her new friend's belly. Both women laughed a little before Victoria finally got out of bed.

"Once you get dressed how about you and me have some breakfast together?" Morticia asked.

"Yes, I would love to." Victoria replied.

Slipping on a pair of jeans and a brown top along with a black pair of sneakers Dr. Helens checked herself out in the mirror before walking out of the room.

Morticia waited outside while Victoria changed, after a few moments the door opened and the two of them began walking down the hallway toward the stairs.

"I have to say your taste for gothic décor is amazing." Victoria said.

"Thank you, I do my best, by the way you look much better. Morticia added.

"Yes I do feel rested I just can't believe I've been asleep for three days." Victoria said.

"Indeed." Morticia replied

The two of them walked down the stairs and into the living room. Dr. Helens always knew the Addams family was not considered normal, she found them to be unique instead. Gomez was in the middle of the floor standing on his head while Fester and Pugsley were playing catch with grenades. Grandmama had Lurch trying out some of her potions with very explosive side effects.

Morticia was surprised, anyone else who would of saw this would of left in a heartbeat yet Dr. Helens stood there with concern along with a hint of curiosity across her face.

Dr. Helens finally walked over to Gomez who was standing on his head in the middle of the room with a cigar in his mouth and a smile across his face.

"Ah afternoon Doctor, Can I help you?" Gomez asked

"The blood is rushing to your head, aren't you worried?" Dr. Helens asked in a worried tone.

"Nope, it's good for relieving headaches thus one of the many benefits of Zen Yogi." Gomez replied.

"Zen –Yogi an interesting practice indeed." Dr. Helens said.

Next Morticia and Victoria wandered over to the green house. Dr. Helens didn't expect to see daises and roses instead her eyes laid on various vines with sharp thorns lased across them, black roses and possible black daises, but something far more interesting caught her attention when she noticed the strangest plant in the entire green house.

"An African strangler so this must be Cleopatra." Dr. Helens said with a hint of amazement.

"Yes, she's my pride and joy." Morticia said proudly.

"I bet Penelope would love this place." Dr. Helens said happily.

"Yes she does, speaking of Penelope follow me." Morticia said.

The two of them left the green house and entered the backyard. The smell of something burning put Dr. Helens on high alert. As they walked further into the backyard they spotted smoke. While Morticia found it amusing Victoria grew concerned. The moment she spotted Penelope and Wednesday fear rose within her, but Morticia merely touch the good doctor's shoulder and shook her head.

"It's okay, I noticed Penelope is a bit of a fire starter as is Wednesday so the two of them have been setting various items ablaze ever since." Morticia said.

Victoria nodded Penelope finally has people that understand and accept her nature. Her most troublesome patient has finally found some friends. Morticia and Victoria walked away leaving the two pyromaniacs alone.

Morticia and Victoria finally sat down at the table in the back yard. Lurch came out a few moments later with two dishes of fresh sliced yak, buffalo milk mash potatoes and spring greens. He set them down along with a huge pitcher of water with two glass cups.

"Thank you Lurch, that will be all for now." Morticia said happily

The two of them ate in silence at first, Morticia smiled she was happy to help her new friend.

"Thank you, for everything." Dr. Helens said.

"No problem you are welcome to stay here longer if you want." Morticia said.

"As good as that sounds I think I should go home." Victoria replied.

Both women smiled and enjoyed the rest of their meal in silence.

A few hours later Dr. Helens walked down the stairs with her bag in hand, she set it down for a moments to give Morticia a big hug and shake Gomez's hand. As the three of them walked outside Lurch pulled up in the doctor's car he stepped out of the car and walked over to Victoria handing her the keys.

"Don't forget visit us maybe we can play some grenade ball." Gomez said.

"Well maybe not grenade ball, perhaps some Zen-yogi instead?" Victoria asked.

"It's a deal!" Gomez said excitedly.

Gomez and Morticia backed away from the car as Victoria sat down in the driver's seat. Placing her bag in the passenger seat and starting up her car Victoria turned to the window and wave to her new friends before driving away. They continued waving until the car was no longer in view. Morticia sighed contentedly laying her head upon her husband's chest.

"It always feels good helping someone." Morticia said.

A few moments later a loud explosion shook the ground bringing them back to reality. The two of them smiled and walked back into the house.

"The house is livelier than ever." Gomez said.

"Indeed it is dear." Morticia replied.

The door shuts behind them as life continued to go on in the Addams family house hold.

Life was finally normal once again.
