Holley was next to run forth. She waited for a solid minute before she sighed. "It's gone dormant."

"You mean it's not gonna work anymore?" Siddeley asked.

Holley shook her head. "No, I'm sure it will. But I don't know how long it'll take, that's the problem." She had too worried of an expression for a little girl.

"We wait." Mater confirmed.

"Yes." Holley frowned deeper. "We wait."

"Bloody hell." Siddeley kicked a rock with his shoe and sat down. "Yay." He sarcastically sighed. The rest of the group followed his lead.

Alexis' head hurt.

She was experiencing the worst headache she had ever felt. She couldn't think, couldn't get a grasp on reality. Her head was spinning. It felt like she was remembering things she had never learned.

Then there was the pain.

She felt her skin and insides begin to stretch, at the same time turning hard and cold. She felt like screaming, though she didn't feel like her voice would work.

Everything hurt. Her throat, her head, her muscles… Everything either ached or burned.

Then as suddenly as it had begun, it stopped.

She felt strange.

"Alexis?" She heard Finn. His voice sounded older, sounded more like his old self. No… It couldn't be. That meant they were in the Cars world. That meant she was…

Alexis opened her eyes. She couldn't move her head, so she glanced down with her eyes, almost scared of what she'd see. She let out a small squeak when instead of the rest of her body, she saw a teal hood.

"Alexis!" Finn repeated. She looked to her left. There was Finn, restored to his former self in all his glory.

Alexis willed herself to face him.

"W… What the crap happened?!" She hissed, horrified.

Finn redirected his gaze towards a shiny metal wall they seemed to be hiding behind. Alexis' eyes widened. She was a slim, teal Camaro.

"Finn—" She stopped when she realized her voice sounded different. She paused. "Finn?" She began.

"Yes?"

"Finn, how old are you?"

Finn didn't answer.

"Finn, how old am I?!" Alexis demanded.

Finn looked away guiltily.

"Come on, man, I've always assumed you were forty something. Please, just tell me!"

Finn looked uneasy. He sighed, deciding it was only fair. He rolled over and whispered to Alexis.

She reversed abruptly. "You're kidding me."

Finn shook his hood.

Alexis rolled backwards until she was resting against the wall. "Holy crap… I'm a car… And I'm—"

Alexis was interrupted by voices. She and Finn peered around the corner to see… Finn.

He was cornered, and Zündapp was explaining his new "untested weapon" to him. Finn stared down the weapon boldly.

It wasn't long before Zündapp gave the order to fire. Finn vanished, leaving only a small pile of ashes.

Alexis frowned. She didn't like watching this at all.

Zündapp and the other Lemons cheered. They thought they had finally gotten rid of Finn McMissile. Alexis couldn't help smiling. They were wrong.

"Gotcha!" A voice behind them exclaimed. The two spun around. It was Grem and Acer.

For the first time in her life, Alexis cursed.

"Should it really be taking this long?" Siddeley had begun pacing.

"No, I wouldn't think so." Holley replied.

Siddeley sat down on the portal. "Well, it has to work sometime. And I'm gonna be sitting right here when it doe—"

Siddeley suddenly stopped talking. At first Holley thought she was being graced by some quiet, but she grew suspicious when Mater asked, "Sid?"

Holley turned to see Siddeley was gone.

"Huh." Holley frowned. "Ready to go…?" She looked at Mater.

He shrugged. "Yeah."

They took each other's hands and walked over the area together.

"Ah-h-h feels so good to be a plane again!" Siddeley exclaimed, a little too loud. "Oh…" Siddeley cursed when he realized he was surrounded by enemies.

"Sid!" Alexis scolded.

"What? I'm an adult, again!" Sid grinned, and took off, avoiding the Lemons.

Holley and Mater burst in seconds later. Every Lemon turned to them.

"Oops." Mater looked around.

It was an interesting sight to see, Mater doing what first came to mind. Which was, of course, his "carate moves". Hey, at least they worked. He must've taken out a third of the Lemons himself. Even Finn was impressed.

Meanwhile, Holley got to work electrocuting Alexis and Finn's guards, then lowering them down from where they were chained up. She shocked the chains, and they clattered to the floor.

Siddeley was also doing his part. From where he circled the platforms in the air, he shot as many Lemons as he could. Not with lethal shots, of course… Just enough to slow them down.

"So, what, time works differently with the different portals, too?!" Alexis demanded.

"It would seem like it. Siddeley!" Holley called through her com set.

"On my way down!" Siddeley cheerfully announced.

"My dad!" Alexis looked towards the portal.

"Alexis, they're going to surround us soon, we need to—" Finn tried to argue.

"But my dad!" She repeated, and started driving back.

"Alexis!" Finn called, and chased after her.

Another brilliant flash of light, and they were gone.

Yesh hate me for my cliffhangers. :3
