Chapter 13: Resolved
'Takeru-kun, I'm sorry…' Hikari said to him and saw his nice smile firmed on his lip, his usual heartwarming smile.
And his answer was…
Slowly, Hikari opened both of her eyes.
It was just a dream.
She felt that both of her stomachache and headache were getting much better than before.
'Where am I?' she thought as she looked around, noticing that she was at her bedroom.
"Hikari? Thank goodness you are awake!" it was Tailmon's voice. She'd taken a care of Hikari during her sleep. "I'll call your mother. Wait a moment, okay?"
Hikari tried to sit up as she still held her stomach, and tried to remember everything that happened. The things that she could remember were, Takeru's familiar concern and the ride that he offered. As they went back to her house, she also remembered that she held his shoulder tightly and fell asleep peacefully in the end. She looked at her hands, still could feel the warm when she held his shoulder.
"Ah! You are awake! You have been sleeping for 2 hours! You must have felt much better now! Now you can change your clothes into pajamas now to make you feel comfortable," Yuuko said as she came into Hikari's room, bringing a cup of hot tea.
Hikari noticed that she was still wearing the same black blouse so that she went and changed into pajamas, when her mother started giggling due to today's incident. "So, how is your impression about getting first period?"
Hikari turned her face, and her face looked really scared and embarrassed. "How did you know…?"
"Well," Yuuko started to tell as she gave Hikari a cup of hot tea to drink. "When Takeru-kun arrived, I saw that you were sleeping on his back. He told me that you were sick. I was quite surprised back then and asked him how could it happen, but he was just blushing and didn't give me an answer,"
Hikari almost spread her tea from her mouth, but she still let her mother to continue the story. "I was confused because he didn't speak, but I saw that you were covering your pants with his jacket. So, I understood why he acted like that, and I gave him a smile and invited him to come in,"
Yuuko couldn't hold her laughter anymore as she continued her story that could make Hikari feel embarrassed with Takeru for the rest of her life. "And he kept blushing even after I invited him to come in. I guess, he knew that you're getting your period, and extremely shy because he knew about one of girls' biggest secret."
Hikari couldn't do anything except holding her cup tightly and made sure that it won't fall because her hands were trembling, and cheeks were blushing since her mother mentioned: "I guess, he knew that you're getting your period, and extremely shy because he knew about one of girls' biggest secret."
'This is very embarrassing! Someone that I never expected to know about this, had known everything! What should I do if I meet him?!'
It was Hikari's thought.
"Anyway," Yuuko continued, still chuckling. "after that, he quickly put you on your bed, looking at you with eyes that were full with regret, and he said…"
A warm smile firmed on Yuuko's lip as she continued her story. "He said 'I'm sorry for making you terrible and sick like this…' for several times. Well, he must be really worry about you, right?"
This time, Hikari looked curiously at her mother, but it told that her mother had told her the truth. She was sick because of her period, not because of his fault. But he blamed himself about this?
"Where is he?" Hikari asked her mother.
"Eh?"
"Where is he?!" she repeated.
"Well, after that, he excused himself to go home. But, Taichi, Tailmon, and Agumon urged and pulled him into Taichi's room. Up until now, he is still at his room –"
Her fear was confirmed. She was really sure that the three of them will give him a punishment. A punch from Tailmon, a fire from Agumon, and kicks from Taichi. Hikari couldn't imagine it and she immediately got up, and went out from her room and leaved her mother. She didn't care anymore if he'd known her embarrassing moment, all she thought was him being safe. As she stood in front of Taichi's room to knock, she didn't hear Taichi's torturing voice, or Takeru's scream. It was really silent, not until Hikari heard a hard laughter came from Taichi, and their little conversation. She decided to put back her hand, to overhear that conversation.
"So, that was the story?! Oh my, hahahahaha!" Taichi said, laughing hardly. "It must be really tough for you!"
One thing for sure: Hikari was pretty sure that Taichi was laughing at her. She gritted her teeth, clenching her palm and swearing herself that they needed to finish this later.
"Yeah… and now, I guess… I really need your advice…"
Hikari blinked. 'advice?'
"I gave it one before, right?" Taichi asked.
"Or you didn't remember it?
Once again, Hikari blinked her eyes rapidly. 'What? Has he ever asked for oniichan's advice?'
"Of course I remembered it, Taichi-san! But…" he said, lowering his voice. "But, whenever I want to say it, I want to say sorry to her, my mouth always said a thing… that I don't even want to say… I don't know why…"
"She was crying a lot since your fight with her," it was Tailmon's voice.
"Yeah… I know it… that's why… that's why, the day when I saw her cry in front of me… about a few days ago… I immediately went back. I didn't want… to see her cry… I can't… especially, it's all because of me," Takeru said, using a regret tone. "plus, nii-san told me that… she was crying when she called and told him about her problems with me,"
Hikari's body was trembling as she froze with his statement. He didn't get angry at that time he just didn't want to see her cry.
"Taichi-san," he said. "will you… forgive me…?"
"For what?" Taichi asked him surprisingly.
"For hurting your sister… until she cried a lot and sick. It's all my fault… Really… If I didn't mad at her... I guess this wouldn't happen…" Takeru said, as he kept blaming himself that these were his fault. "It's my fault… my fault…"
Hikari bit her lip, staring at the ground and feeling really guilty with him. She was afraid that Taichi will get angry at him pretty soon, and once it happened, she would open the door, to protect him and explain Taichi that it was her fault, not his fault. But before it happened, Taichi continued his statement that could make Hikari felt a bit relieved.
"No, I'm not. Besides, you helped her this time, right?" Taichi said. "You should tell it to her, not to me,"
After that, a silent wrapped Taichi's room, until finally, the blond boy took a deep breath, answering Taichi's advice.
"Yeah, I will…" Takeru said.
As Hikari wiped her tears rudely, and even though she couldn't see him right now, but based on his soft voice, she was pretty sure that he was smiling warmly right now. She smiled with his statement, and this conversation really made her want to apologize to him once more as soon as she could.
"Oi!" Taichi suddenly yelled out. "Hikari! Our conversation is done. I know that you've been standing outside my room since a couple minutes ago, and had heard all of this conversation. You don't need to hide anymore. So, come in right now! You don't want to see me torturing him, do you?"
Hikari widened her eyes panicky. So, this was Taichi's plan to make her hearing all of this conversation. She gulped, didn't know if she should come in, or she should escape to her room and hid herself with blanket.
"Hikari!" Taichi said again before she could speak. "I never know that I have a sister who loves to overhear someone's private conversation! I will count it until three, or –"
Hikari opened the door as she hid her face, blushing, of course. "Are you happy?" she asked him. "How did… you know that I was outside your room…?"
"I could hear your footsteps, but you didn't knock my door so I assumed you want to overhear it, and I just let you hear that conversation," Taichi said, starting to laugh. "but, I didn't know that Takeru wouldn't realize it…!"
"Eh? Actually I heard it. But I thought that footstep is just my imagination, so…" he rolled his eyes, before laughing at his dumbness.
"So, how you felt about getting your –"
Hikari's blush only got worse once he wanted to tease. "BAKA ONIICHAN! BAKA BAKA BAKA!"
Taichi never finished as she yelled out as loud as she could, blushing hardly. She gave Taichi an angry glare, and slammed the door hardly, though they only ended up laughing at Taichi's room. Of course, she felt really embarrassed with this. For her, Taichi shouldn't ask about her period in front of Takeru, it would only make everything worse. She came back into her room with her anger emotion that was almost exploded due to Taichi's tease and locked her room, before finally, someone knocked her door softly. She knew who he was. It must be Takeru.
"Hikari-chan? Are you there?" Takeru asked with a very soft voice and Hikari still didn't answer it.
"Can I come in? Please…" he asked. Still, she didn't answer it. As much as she wanted to apologize to him, she still felt embarrassing because of Taichi's act before.
"I won't yell or angry anymore. I promise. Could you… open it? Please… I... want to talk with you. Can I?" he asked.
Hikari bit her lips. His statement this time, really made her want to embrace him tightly, and said sorry for so many times.
"Hikari-chan? Are you still afraid or angry with me…?" he asked again.
Again, she still kept silent. She didn't know what she should say…
"If so... It's okay… no problem…" he said, using a regretting tone.
Hearing his hopeless sigh made her want to open the door to him and so she walked closer to the door, but it never happened. "But… could we meet tomorrow at the station? I want to introduce you with someone,"
Hikari just held her door knob tightly, stammering with his words, "Please come… I'll wait for you, okay?" he said, without any anger in his tones anymore. "I'm going home now. Don't forget to have a good rest, okay?"
"See you tomorrow and… get well soon…" he continued.
Hikari could hear his footsteps were walking away from her bedroom, which meant that he really went home. Using her logical thought, she had finally known that his anger had finally calmed down. But there was one more thing left in her mind: He told her that he wanted to introduce her with someone. Hikari was sure that, this time he wanted to introduce her to that 'Arisa'.
And so, like what he'd asked her, she came to the station and Takeru had been waiting for her arrival, like she'd expected, with that 'Arisa' and… wait. Yamato?
"Ah! Hikari-chan!" Takeru said, waving. "I'm so glad because you want to come!"
"So, finally both of you had already made up?" Yamato grinned.
Both of them just looked at Yamato as Hikari could notice a small wink came from one of Takeru's eyes, to Yamato. Was that mean that his anger to her was really gone?
"Takeru-kun, is she..?" that 'Arisa' asked.
He nodded, and looked at Hikari, "Anyway, Hikari-chan. I told you that I wanted to introduce you with someone right?" Takeru said as he pointed to that 'Arisa'. "Well, she is my –"
"She is your girlfriend, right?" Hikari cut him off, looking away.
'I don't want to hear it! I don't want you tell me about it! Please, don't confirm it!'
There was an awkward silent until finally,
She could hear a laughter came from the three of them.
"What? Did she really say 'girlfriend'?" Yamato said, trying to handle his laughter, but he couldn't. Instead, he laughed even more.
"Since when I have that kind of relationship with you?" that 'Arisa' asked him.
"I don't even know!" it was Takeru's answer.
Meanwhile, Hikari just looked at him, feeling curious and wonder as she tilted her head. They kept laughing until Takeru calmed down first, but Hikari still noticed a little giggle still coming out from his lip. "Why did you…" he said, still giggling. "Why did you assume us like that?"
"That's…" Hikari started, realizing that she was blushing and something was wrong. "That's all because I met both of you in café about a week ago! You were laughing altogether! And when I came to your house that day, you were alone, so –"
She told her reason and noticed that how jealous she was against Arisa. But again, her statement was cut by the laughter from the three of them, that only got worse. Hikari started to realize that… it seemed that… Arisa wasn't his girlfriend..?
After their laughter had calmed down, Takeru started to point Arisa to Hikari, wanting to introduce her. "Hikari-chan…" he said, raising his tone for only one words. "Can I introduce my COUSIN with you?"
Cousin?
'Cousin?!'
Hikari opened her mouth slightly, dumbfounded. So… was this actually a… misunderstanding…?
There was a wondering, confusing expression on her face. Hikari looked at Takeru, Yamato, and that 'Arisa'. The three of them seemed to be amused with this, as if they had just watched a comedy theater. And then, that long red-haired girl lent Hikari her hand, introducing herself.
"We've met before, right?" she said. "My name is Tanami Arisa. Actually, Takeru-kun told me about all of his best friends, such as Daisuke-kun and Miyako-san. But I only interested when he told me about you and I asked him several times that I wanted to meet you. But, he said that I couldn't because both of you were having a conflict during this week." she said, introducing herself and starting to laugh. "Oh yeah, I'm not his girlfriend! I'm his cousin! I'm really close with both of Yamato-san and Takeru-kun because I'm the only child in my family, maybe that's why you assume us like that!"
Yamato, who seemed to hide his laughter, adding something from Arisa, "Actually, when you asked me who Arisa was, I want to tell you that she is our cousin. But it was cut by your excuse to follow Takeru," Yamato said, bursting into laughter again. "But I never know that you'll assume her as his girlfriend!"
"And… When you look at us in café," she started, giggling. "Actually, I was a bit nervous to meet my boyfriend who lives in Odaiba. And actually, I also asked Yamato-san to accompany me until my boyfriend came. But he couldn't because he had a practice… Takeru-kun always accompanied me before my boyfriend came, and immediately made an excuse when he came," she said, and laughing again. "but I don't know that you look at us as a couple!"
"And one more thing," Takeru said, joining to laugh. "why did you say that both of us were alone at my home? There's nii-san who went to bathroom."
Hikari was speechless, and couldn't hold it anymore, laughing with her own dumbness together with the rest. She realized that she was idiot, completely idiot. But now, she felt overwhelmed to know that… she was not his girlfriend.
'Well, he won't lie at me…'
After their laugh were calmed down, Hikari smiled as she accepted her hand and ready to introduce herself to Arisa. "I'm Yagami Hikari. I'm –"
Hikari stopped her statement as she wondered with her next statement, wondering if Takeru still looked at her as his best friend after everything that happened. She glanced at him, and her answer was confirmed with a small nod from Takeru. With a smile, she said that precious words.
"I'm Takeru-kun's best friend…" Hikari said, giving Arisa a nice smile and blushing a little.
Again, she glanced at him, and she could see a smile firming on his lip, and a relieving sigh. She was believed that it was a smile that was full of relief, that made her feel so overwhelmed.
"Arisa-chan!" they could hear someone's voice that none other was Arisa's boyfriend.
"Ah! Na-kun! I thought you wouldn't come!" Arisa said to her boyfriend.
"Don't tell him about this stuff!" Takeru begged.
"Baka! Of course I won't tell him!" she said as she ran to her boyfriend's direction as the lovers gave an embrace to each other.
"He is her boyfriend," Takeru said to Hikari, pointing to her boyfriend and chuckling. "You know, he loves her so much…"
Hikari couldn't say anything, or couldn't let her smile become bigger anymore. All of her worried and jealousy were all vanished as the truth revealed. She was so relief with all of this. Now, she just needed to do one more thing left: apologize to him.
"For our dearest Shibuya train passenger, the train that directs to Shibuya has come. Thank you."
"I guess, I should go now. See you soon!" Arisa said as she gave them a goodbye wave. "Ah! Matte! Hikari-chan,"
She ran and came closer to Hikari, whispering something to her ears. "I know that Takeru-kun is a nice and cute guy. But really, he isn't my type. So, I guess you don't need to get worry, or jealous anymore!" she whispered, giggling. "And….."
Hikari had been blushing as she mentioned 'jealous', was it obvious? And only got worse once the red-haired girl ended up her secret conversation with Hikari, and she successfully made Hikari feel embarrassed.
"Arisa-chan!"
"So, Ja Ne!"
Arisa ran away and waved from train's window and the train was gone, which meant that she had come back home. Her boyfriend said goodbye and went back to his home.
"Finally she went back home," Yamato said and snickered. "she was really noisy like usual, eh?"
"Yeah, didn't you remember about how she messed up the kitchen just about four days ago?" Takeru shrugged.
"Yeah, you were right." Yamato said as he quickly looked at his watch. "Ah! I remembered that I have a practice! I need to go! Ja Ne!"
Yamato waved at Takeru and Hikari, giving a wink as he murmured something like 'good luck!'. Now, this was her chance. They were completely alone, just both of them. It was time to fix everything that needed to be fixed.
"What a good liar," he said, sighing and crossing both of his arms. "but he is not like me that was called 'a liar' by someone,"
Hikari bit her lip as she heard Takeru's little tease about it. "Takeru-kun… are you still got angry about it…?"
He didn't give her an answer. Instead, he turned his face to see her with a concerned blue eyes. "Hikari-chan," he asked worriedly. "have you recovered from your sickness?"
She was a bit surprised with his question. She didn't know that he was still a bit worry about her healthy. "I'm fine now… th… thank you for helped me yesterday…" she said, looking to the ground, feeling ashamed with that incident.
"It's okay… I'm glad that you are fine now…" he said, relieving.
She was surprised with his answer. She could even feel his concerned as he asked about her healthy, and his relieving tone as he received the answer. She lifted her head, to meet his face and saw his relieving smile.
"Anyway, do you have a time right now?" he asked, still smiling kindly with a smile that she'd missed so much, and he received a small nod from her. "Do you want to go to the park? The weather is nice, isn't it?"
Hikari gave him a nod. She was pretty sure that he wanted to discuss about their arguments, or… to do her wish, she wanted to apologize to him like back days. But, the worst part was just Takeru won't discuss it, or didn't want to forgive her. With an awkward silent, they went to the park. None of them dared to make a little chat. She started to think about everything she wanted to say to apologize to him. This time, she should make it…
After they arrived, they didn't sit on bench. Takeru just stood and kept silent, looking up to autumn's blue sky with some orange leaves that was dry. Hikari on the other hand, just watched him from his back and bit her lip. She stepped closer, and she would have wrapped him with her arms, if she could.
"Hikari-chan," he said as he turned out his head, making her startled. "actually, I have a problem and I guess, I need your advice. But, the story is a little bit long. Do you want to hear it…?"
Hikari nodded, and he took a deep, long autumn's warm air, and started to tell his story. "Well, this story is based on my true experience," he started and closed both of his eyes. "about a week ago, I was fighting with one of my friend that I really… should I say, close, very close,"
Hikari knew that 'his friend' was herself, but she didn't dare to say anything and let him continue it, "She said to me… not to pretend to care or worry about her. To tell the truth, I was mad, so mad with her for saying something like that to me,"
She bit her lip as she felt a little wound come out from her heart as he spoke. But, she still let him to continue his story, wanting to know how far he would discuss it. "And so, I followed her favor, with a plus I yelled at her so many times. I mad with her, really mad."
His statement really made her sad and assumed that she was wrong; he was still mad at her. She bent her body, as she thought that she really deserved all of these.
"But," his voice hitched, before taking a deep breath. "but actually, I really didn't want to do it,"
She blinked, and lifted her head, to look at him, to meet his eyes, his blue eyes that were full with regret.
"All of my statement to her… really a statement that I didn't want to say to her… All of those statements… really are the opposite from my heart,"
Now, she started to believe that he was actually… didn't mad at her anymore…? Instead, he felt… regretted…?
"And actually… actually, I'm just pretending not to care about her. Deep inside my heart, I still cared and worried about her… about everything…"
She stared at him again unbelievably, but he never let her to open her mouth. "I know that yesterday… she was sick and it was a serious sickness. But I felt like I shouldn't have cared, like she wanted me to do, that was actually really the opposite from my heart. Instead, I said words that I didn't want to, again."
"Until finally… I couldn't hold it anymore, when I saw that she tried to keep up her pain more and more. And finally, I gave her all of my concerns to her that I'd tried to keep. I didn't care about her favor anymore, I need to help her,"
'Is it… true..?'
"It was good to hear that… she is fine now. At least, I could repay everything I did to her," he said, smiling a bit. "even though it was just a little bit,"
"I even didn't accept her apology... almost…" he continued. "I was out of control back then, anger had surrounded me, until finally I saw her cry directly in front of me and I realized everything I said and did to her. I couldn't see her cry like that,"
People won't easily believe his words, especially after they saw him like that, but for Hikari, who had known him since they were little, knew that he was saying the truth so that she started sobbing, though she still tried her best to hold it, and let him to continue it.
"I was regretted with everything I did to her… I've succeeded… to make her cry," he said before adding something. "and hurt her,"
He gave a tight smile, though it looked really hurt on her eyes. "I don't even know if she would ever forgive me or not because of everything I did to her, because I almost said that I wouldn't forgive her."
She bent her body and started to wipe her eyes rudely, and she knew that she wouldn't able to control it very soon.
"I ever told myself that… that I'll hate someone who makes her cry… And now, I guess I'll hate –"
He stopped his statement, as he realized that he heard a hard sob from Hikari. He opened his eyes surprisingly, and blinked. "Hikari-chan...?"
"Stop it… Please… Stop it…" Hikari said, crying and sobbing very hard as she felt that she couldn't hold her tears anymore.
"Hikari-chan…?"
Still sobbing, she lifted her head, to see him in face. She couldn't hold it anymore as she swung her arms around him to hug him, grabbing his shirt tightly with both of her hands, and burying her head into his chest, and crying harder.
"Enough… don't say it anymore… please… stop it…" she said as she tried to speak with sobs.
Takeru on the other hand, hugged her as he put one of his hand on her back, to pat her back calmly, trying his best to make her feel better, or at least calm down, and he allowed her to pull him closer. He put his other hand… on her hair and brushed her hair, smoothly and gently.
"Hikari-chan… please… don't cry… You know that… I hate it…?" he cheered her up.
His voice was full with regret as he comforted her. But, it never effected on her. Instead, she cried even more. She felt that her tears started to soak his shirt, and Takeru just let her cry in his embrace, even though she knew that actually he didn't want to see her cry like this, and felt very uncomfortable and guilty.
"Just… let me cry… this time… please…" she said,
"But… you are crying because of me… I don't want that…" he answered.
"I'm crying not because you're mad or anything, but because… you are still cared, about me…" she sobbed. "I was the one who made… a mistake… but you thought that… it's all your fault. You didn't… deserve it… really really… didn't deserve it…"
"Hikari-chan –"
He tried to speak, or at least to open his mouth. But Hikari grabbed his shirt tighter, to make a signal that she hadn't finished her statement, and didn't allow Takeru to say something about his fault, or anything else.
"All I want to say is…" she said, still crying. "I… I…"
She tried to say it as she recalled about their fight during this week, and was too afraid to say this, afraid that he would get angry once more. And so, she just buried her face into his chest even more, and couldn't stop crying. She felt really overwhelmed, and uncomfortable at the same time. Overwhelmed because he still cared, and uncomfortable because she made him worry. She only lost her fear once he patted her.
"It's okay, it's okay… Just say it… I'll hear you this time… I promise…" he said softly.
She felt really overwhelmed with his words, when she knew that he was understand. "Really?"
Receiving a nod, she opened her mouth, to speak. "I really regret… about everything that… happened…" she started as she sobbed, crying and holding his shirt tighter, to make sure he won't run away from this. "I didn't mean about… everything I say before, really… Please… trust me…"
She stopped just because she still afraid that he will get angry again if she continued it, or he won't trust her story. So, she hugged him tighter by holding his shirt, hoping that he would notice that she was afraid. At least, he patted back, soothing her, to confirm that everything would be okay. "It's okay… I trust you… Just continue it… I won't be angry…"
She nodded before she decided to continue it, "I thought… I thought you broke your promise… that you will… tell me if you… have a girlfriend…" she said, grabbing his shirt tighter. She could feel the way he stroked her hair. It was gentle and it could make every girl in this world calmed down and all of their fears about everything will be vanished.
"But, I lost control… and mad that… that you didn't call me… and explained everything to me, I don't know why, but I felt that you really should hav –"
"I called you."
"Eh?"
"I called you the night before we fought. You can ask your motherlater if you don't trust me. She said that you're sleeping, so –"
"I'm sorry."
Her tears only got worse. "Takeru-kun, I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm so –"
Hikari repeated it as much as she could, sobbing and tears were streaming. While talking over and over again, he suddenly let off his warm embrace, and looked at Hikari that still closed both of her eyes tightly. Her tears were still stream rapidly on her cheeks.
"Hikari-chan, please… calm down. And look at me." he said softly.
Hikari started to open both of her eyes slowly and slightly, looked into his blue eyes as she tried to study his face. He looked really worry, everyone would know it by reading it.
"Takeru… kun… I'm… sorry…" she said slowly directly in front of him with her stammering tone, sobbing, and tears were still streaming her cheeks rapidly, wetting her cheek hardly because she was crying too much. She believed that Takeru didn't want to see her like this. This was just like a chaos, for him. But she can't stop, at least right now.
As if, he just looked at her with regrets on his orbs, feeling that it was his fault. He decided to speak a word, didn't want to let her tears stream on her cheeks anymore. "Your face was terrible," he said as he wiped all of her tears, and started to rub the outline of her wet cheeks with his palm gently, to calm down that crying girl. Meanwhile, Hikari kept silent with this, trying to calm down herself, making sure that she wouldn't make him worry anymore; he could blame himself if she kept crying. They kept silent with that circumstances, as if Hikari just like got a hypnotize by his blue eyes, and went into a dreamland where there were only them there.
"Will you… forgive me..?" she asked as she finally had a courage to ask it. She had much better, though her eyes were still puffy and her cheeks were red and paled. He didn't answer, which made her wonder, but vanished as she received a little chuckle from Takeru's lip.
"If you want to stop crying, I will." he answered as a little laughter came from his lip, still rubbing her cheeks.
Hikari's smile grew on her lip due to that answer. Her smile wasn't only filled with relief, but also happiness. "I also want to say it," he said as he released his hand from her cheeks, and bowed. "I'm sorry..!"
"I'm sorry for ever yelling at you. I'm sorry for ever get angry and mad at you. I'm sorry for pretending not to care and worry about you. I'm sorry for almost not forgiving you before. And most of all, I'm sorry for made you… cry…" he said, bowing and using a regretted tone.
Hikari seemed to speechless and surprised with his statement. He still bowed in front of as she looked at that blond boy. As he left up his body and stood directly straightly in front of her, he also noticed that Hikari had already closed both of her eyes and shook her head.
"You didn't want… to forgive me..?" he asked her, curiously
"No," she said as a pair of crimson eyes were opened, to meet his blue one. They were really confused, and he looked really worried.
She chuckled, looking at him with happiness on her orbs, and continued her answer, "I won't forgive you if you didn't give me a hug…"
He looked startled, before finally giving her his nice smile that it could be said, the smile that she missed that smile so much. Very soon, she could feel his sudden tight embracement and once more, they were hugging to each other. Still embracing and grabbing his shirt with both of her hands tightly, she could hear his heartbeat. It was as fast as hers right now. She tried to look at him, into his eyes once more. She wanted to say it once more, and…
"I'm sorry!" they said it together.
First they looked surprised and confused, but laughed very soon with that, and hugged each other even more, followed by laughter. They kept hugging to feel the longing between each other, and she buried her head into his chest and grabbed his shirt as she also felt that he was brushing her hair once more. As autumn leaves fall down to the ground, she could feel her sudden tears also fell down from her eyes once more, and soaked his shirt like before. This time, tears that came out from her eyes were different from before. It was tears of happiness because of this forgiveness.
"Hey, don't cry anymore. I forgave you already," he whispered.
"I'm crying because I'm happy," she said, smiling and blushing. "I miss you so much…" she mumbled and closed both of her eyes. She heard Takeru's heartbeat that was as fast as hers, and grabbed his shirt tighter and tears came out from her eyes, those tears of happiness.
"Me too… I miss your laughter at me… your smiles at me…" he mumbled, hugging her tighter.
Her smile grew as she heard that statement. "Takeru-kun… don't hate yourself because of me… please…"
Takeru just smiled, knowing that she was afraid that he could hate himself because of that. "If that's what you want…"
He put her again into his embrace, as if he hadn't finished to hug her. She chuckled, and swung her arms again and played with his messy hair, before finally she hugged him tighter, but for sure, solemnly.
"So, it means that we are best friend again now…?"
While finally apart, he gave her that question as she rubbed her eyes. She gave him a nice smile and giggle, a smile that she only wanted to give it for him. "We were just fighting! We never became an enemy! And I don't want that!"
He smiled in relief before he continued his statement seriously/ "Hikari-chan, I never broke my promise,"
She just nodded and understood his mean, "I know," she said. "I know it… It was just… kind of misunderstanding,"
"Misunderstanding?" he asked her curiously.
Hikari widened her eyes panicky, quickly tried to avoid his question as quick as she could. "Nothing! Forget it!"
Hikari didn't want Takeru knew the main reason why she got angry, that actually she was getting jealous of Arisa, his cousin.
"Well, if that is what you want… Okay then…" he said, giving her a warm smile.
She just smiled to know that he wanted to understand it. "Anyway, let's celebrate it! Maybe we could buy an ice cream?"
Hikari just giggled and nodded. Still, she can't believe that they made it! They started to go out of the park as Hikari also had so many question and topics that she wanted to tell him. Starting from the day during their fight, about Tailmon, or something else. She had really missed this moment. "Takeru-kun," she started. "did you really ask my oniichan's advice?"
"Yeah," he answered, biting his lip grumpily. "he told me that I just need to say it. But… I always failed every time I wanted to say it. Instead, I said the opposite…" he answered, sighing disappointingly. "I'm sorry."
Hikari gave him an understanding smile; she could understand it. Although sometimes people wanted to ask for apology, but they could say the opposite because they were really angry – no, disappointed. She didn't blame Takeru for this. It was one of human's big problem in this big world that they couldn't solve the answer easily. "And, Takeru-kun," she said again. "actually, what did Arisa-chan do in Odaiba during this week?"
He chuckled with her question, "Hahaha! I guess I need to answer a lot of question from you, eh?"
"Of course!" her smile brightened.
"Well…" he said. "She wanted to attend her relative's party. Her parents had come back home a few days ago. And she stayed here until today, spending her time with her boyfriend,"
"Speaking about her, what did she whisper to you before her depart?"
She looked startled, before remembering it and blushing, quickly shook her head rudely. "It wasn't important!"
Hikari of course, remembered Arisa's last statement clearly.
It was about... Takeru's feelings to Hikari based on her girl's intuition.
And it was...
"I know that Takeru-kun is a nice and cute guy. But really, he isn't my type. So, I guess you don't need to get worry, or jealous anymore!" she whispered, giggling. "And….."
"And I believe that… he really likes you! He is a boy in love!" she added in her whisper, giggling.
