The door opened and Auryon looked around suspiciously. It was part of her nature to make sure she knew everything about the room. Possible dangers, escape routes, number of people occupying, among other things. It seemed as though the entire guard, with the exception of a few, were present. Stepping toward her with his arms outstretched, Aro caught the woman's gaze and smiled at the warmth that flooded her eyes. She was obviously happy to be there and that made things all the more enjoyable.

"Come, dear one and join us in our celebration. It is not often we get a new member and it has been many centuries since we have had a Collector in our midst." Auryon nodded and immediately turned her head toward Caius when he stepped forward.

"You should know that typically, we get the first selection on the groups Heidi brings in. However, since it is your first time ever tasting human blood we have decided to allow you to go and select your human." Auryon bowed deeply and thanked him before turning and walking in the direction she could hear multiple heartbeats from. One of the other guards opened the door for her and she walked into a plush reception area, a smile immediately covering her face. The tour group turned to face her and Heidi hugged her gently, kissing her cheeks in greeting.

"Auryon! Thank you for coming to get us! I told our group we had to wait while another group exited the room but we were getting a bit anxious. Is everything ready?" The woman nodded and let her gaze travel across the group. There were people of all ages and ethnicities in the group but none of them looked suspicious yet.

"Aro has given me permission to select someone from your group to get a quick personal tour before the others. If the others don't mind waiting a few more moments, we'll be quick about it." Heidi nodded and moved to the side to allow Auryon to pick a person. Looking closely, Auryon smirked as her eyes stopped on a familiar face. The young man that had yelled out to Jane and Auryon at the airport was standing among the crowd with a girl wrapped around his arm. They were obviously a couple and that made things all the more intriguing. Walking up to the couple, Auryon pointed at the boy and gestured for him to follow her. The girl tried to protest but he spoke harshly in Italian and silenced her.

"I saw you at the airport right? I didn't know you worked here, you don't look like you're from around here." His English was heavily accented and lifted at strange places but Auryon knew he was trying to be flirty. She nodded silently but continued walking and opened the door quickly. The moment Felix and Alec saw the boy, snarls erupted from their mouths which caused the boy to hesitate. Auryon put a hand on his back in what he assumed what a comforting gesture but her smile was nothing but sinister. She stood the man in front of the masters and bowed again.

"This is the human I have chosen. Felix, Alec, Jane and I have met him before. We were unfortunate enough to gain his attention as we left the airport. He said some quite vulgar things to us."

At this point the young man looked quite nervous and was whispering what she meant about calling him human. Aro walked up to him and held his hand out, as if to shake his hand in greeting. Holding his hand out, the boy flinched when Aro's cold skin touched his. Looking through his thoughts and finding nothing of interest, Aro stepped away and nodded his consent.

"Auryon he is of no use to us. Do with him what you will." It was then, as the boy turned to look at the beautiful woman beside him, that he noticed how everyone in the room had either black or red eyes. Auryon turned to face the young man then grabbed the back of his head like she was going to kiss him. Pulling him close, she kissed his cheek lightly before leaning closer and biting his neck viciously. Her hand went over his mouth to muffle the noise and she drank from him quickly and greedily. He struggled then slowly he stopped fighting and everyone could see him becoming more lethargic. His eyes closed and a trickle of blood slowly ran down his neck from where she had bitten him.

When she was finished, Auryon pulled back and slowly licked the small amount of blood that escaped. Her eyes were bright red and there was a ring of blood around her mouth but besides that, nobody would have been able to tell she had just fed. Caius couldn't help but feel impressed and every other vampire in the room felt the same way. Most newborns didn't typically possess that kind of self-control to resist tearing their victim's throats out in their hurry to get to the blood.

"I do believe congratulations are in order. That was an exceptionally clean feeding; you should be proud of yourself." Auryon bowed slightly at the praise before looking at the faces around her.

"Thank you masters. However, I think we've made everyone else wait long enough. Shall I send for Heidi?" Aro waved his hand and Demetri left the room to get Heidi and the rest of the tour group. They all filed in, many of them snapping pictures with their tiny cameras and making noises of appreciation. Aro walked toward them with his arms outstretched and a bright smile across his face. Felix pulled the body of the young man across the room in the blink of an eye, moving him quickly out of sight before anyone noticed.

"Welcome my friends to Volterra! We are so pleased to have you join us for our meal!" Aro continued speaking, keeping the group's attention while every vampire in the room moved steadily closer until they were completely surrounded. Auryon locked eyes with the woman whose boyfriend she just killed. She stared back and a flash of fear when down her body as she noticed Auryon's bright red eyes. Caius and Marcus came to stand next to Aro as one of the tourists asked what the meal was going to be. The door was suddenly locked tight as Aro chuckled darkly.

"The meal? It's you." With that said, Aro lunged at a man with Caius and Marcus following closely behind. Suddenly and without warning, the bloodbath began.
