AN: Hi everyone sorry I haven't updated this story in a while but as it is my last year in uni, I have become slightly busy and I will try and update/finish this story soon. But hope that you all understand why I haven't updated as much lately. Hope you all understand and enjoy this chapter.

Chapter 14

Will Balto and his family make it to Kodi in time? What has Dib done to them? Will Accalia live with Balto now?

Balto's POV

He hadn't run this fast in so long that his lungs where burning, his legs were hurting him but he wouldn't stop and even if he lost some of the energy that he might need it didn't matter to him. He needed to find out how is family was.

''Papa'' Aleu panted ''do you think he sent some wolves to kill mama and my siblings?''

He didn't know how to answer and but he wouldn't put it pass Dib to do something like that and for that matter but he also wouldn't lie to Aleu and would tell her what he thought.

''I don't know but if he has then death will become his new friend'' he sounded out of breath but also frustrated and he knew what he had to do now and he will do it without hesitation.

No-one's POV

As the family came into the town they all felt the difference in the town and there were two things that they all could smell fear and blood.

For them all they didn't know if that was a good thing or bad thing, to ensure that got to Jenna and the pups. Balto took them all through the shortcut that he knew and as they all got there they smelt unfamiliar wolves and all bristled even more because of it.

Anu's POV

She ran with her family this was not something that she had seen, this was something that wasn't supposed to happen. She had seen everyone coming together and there been some arguing but they would be together as family in the end.

''you can't worry about this now, and we can only help as much as we can'' she heard Charlie in her head. Since they had both died and been helping other wolves they had been given the gift of talking to each other through their thoughts.

This allowed them to tell each other information and also help other wolves at the same time, but what was needed right now was for them to help their son. ''I can't worry about it but I will try and help in every way, possible.''

''Just remember where we can't and can help him and them, we can't interfere where we are not needed''

She shook her head and knew all of this but couldn't help but feel down and not helpful for her family. That's when she heard snarling and growling that brought her from her thoughts.

What she say made her think that maybe it was time to see what her son can do with a situation like this and if she or Charlie would be needed.

Balto's POV

He had never seen or smelt these wolves before and knew that these must be some new pack members Dib had found. That he didn't think much of for what he saw made him lose his temper.

Jenna and Saba where behind Kodi and Dingo, who was protecting them while there was three wolves trying to find an opening to find there weak spots.

However there was another scent and from the corner of his eye he seen Aleu's eyes narrow and look at Nick who slinked off and find the wolf that was hiding.

He turned his attention back to his family and snarled loudly for the wolves to notice him.

''step away from my family if you know what is good for you'' he meant business and walked right in between the three wolves and then stood in front of his family, with Aleu and Accalia standing next to Kodi and Dingo.

''you will be our Alpha, Did will kill us if we don't kill them and you should have a full wolf mate and not a dog. She doesn't deserve you!'' one of the males snarled at him.

He couldn't have stopped the urge to strike if he wanted to, he had lunged then at the male that dared to say something that disgraceful about his mate.

The fight that he didn't want to start had just begun.

No-one's POV

As Balto lunged and started fighting with one of the male wolves, Dingo and Aleu and Accalia and Kodi lunged for the other wolf.

All that could be heard was snarling and growling and the teeth chomping. Balto had managed to get his wolf down but not out, the other wolf used his back legs to kick and scratch at Balto's underside. He howled with pain and let him, they then begin to circle one another while lunging and trying to find an opening.

Meanwhile Dingo and Aleu was having trouble, the wolf they were facing had experience behind him. While Aleu had experience with fighting wolves Dingo didn't and this was slowing Aleu down and she was getting frustrated.

''Dingo listen to me I want you to go and protect Saba and Mother, I can handle this so don't argue with me and just go'' Aleu snarled at him. He went without question and stood protecting his sister and mother.

Without him there it was clear, that there was a change in Aleu's demeanour and it became clear that she could now fight better without Dingo there to distract her.

However she wouldn't be fighting alone for a while, for when her the male where circling and trying to find an opening. There was snarl behind the male wolf and it was Nick who in all of his male/Alpha dominance, was making it clear that going for his mate was not something he liked. Together Aleu and Nick was showing this male that they were an Alpha pair for a reason.

Kodi and Accalia were better as a pair fighting and there fight and only lasted a few minutes the other wolf which was female, proved that she wasn't overly keen on the fighting aspect of this and submitted to both Kodi and Accalia.

They both looked at the others but quickly seen that they weren't really need Nick and Aleu had killed the other wolf, it was clear from injuries to both of them. That the other wolf wouldn't submit to them and so they did what they could and killed it.

Now it was just Balto but when they looked over, it was clear that something was wrong and it was looking like Balto was in a little trouble.

Balto's POV

He just couldn't find an opening, this other wolf was strong and he had more strength than Balto right now.

He just didn't know if he could defeat him, he could sense that he might not win this battle but at the same time he had already sensed that his family had won their battles he couldn't show weakness now. He always wasn't about to either.

He was still circling with the other wolf, and he suddenly found an opening and he struck. Without hesitation he was able to get the throat of the wolf and bit down hard without hesitation.

He managed to kill him but the fight with the wolf, had taken his toll on him. He knew what he had to do but first his family came first and he had to take care of them. He turned around and made eye contact with his parents, his father had a solemn look and his mother had a sad look his face.

He nodded once at them and then turned to his family, Jenna was the first one to him and they nuzzled one another in an embrace. It was one of reassurance and that they now have one another, after all that they had went through in the past few moments.

But now could Balto do what he had thought and if so, how was he going to do it.

What is Balto going to do? Will he ever forgive Dib? What is gonna happen next…well you will have to wait for the next one and find out.

AN: I know I said this at the beginning but sorry it has taken me a while to get this updated, but this story is coming to end. There will be one more chapter and then there will be an epilogue.
