Sansa had come to expect many things from Theon, but she had never expected him to be so crude. They had done nothing more than kiss, and, like most things, it was about to be blown out of proportion. Robb's eye twitched, and for a brief moment, Sansa thought he would stay still, but then his fist flew through the air, and made contact with the side of Theon's face.

"Robb!" Sansa cried, rushing forward. He was always so calm and collected; she knew he could have a temper, but she had never thought he would hit his best friend for no good reason.

Theon had stumbled back, seemingly expecting Robb's reaction. He touched his nose gingerly, then examined his blood covered hand. He barely had time to react before Robb tried to hit him again. Theon raised his arm and blocked Robb's blow, then tried his best to deliver one of his own. He missed his target and hit Robb's cheek instead of the centre of his face.

"Stop it, please stop it!" yelled Sansa, rushing towards the fighting pair. She stood there, feeling helpless, not knowing what to do. She wanted to intervene, but she was wary of getting hurt. These were two fully grown men...they would crush her.

No. For once, she had to be brave. As Robb raised his fist to land one final blow to Theon that would surely finished him, Sansa let out a cry and placed herself in front of Theon.

She had never felt so much pain in the life. Robb, not realising it was his sister until it was too late, landed a blow squarely on Sansa's face. She stumbled back, clutching her cheek, which she could already feel pulsating with pain. She had never fought with her siblings; the spat with Arya had been the first time she had ever fought with anyone in fact, so, unlike her brothers and sister, she had never been on the receiving end of Robb's strength (let alone when it was used in anger).

The moment Robb realised what he had done, he rushed to his sister. "Sansa I'm so sorry!" he said. He placed a finger under her chin, tipping it up, to examine her already purple face. She was trying her best not to cry, but the pain she was feeling was far too much. Her face was bruised, and she was meant to be having lunch with the queen in less than an hour.

"Robb it's fine," she said, pulling her face away from his hands.

He looked at her with a grim expression for a moment, trying to decide whether or not she meant what she said. He didn't see the point of arguing with her, however, so turn his attention back to the bastard that had caused this mess.

"You," said Robb, pointing a finger at Theon "are dead."

"No Robb!" said Sansa desperately but firmly. "Nothing happened! He was lying."

Robb tore his angry eyes off of Theon to look at his little sister. He wanted to believe her - he really did, but he could not shake his best friend's words out of his head 'we were fucking'. How could he know who was telling the truth? Surely Theon wouldn't joke about something such as this...something that could have consequences for everyone involved.

"Sansa after the way you've been acting lately I don't know whether or not to believe you. You've changed." He stopped and let out a sad sigh. "What happened to my little sister?"

It hurt Sansa, seeing so much anger and disappointment and her older brother's eyes. To hear words like that coming from someone you idolised was enough to make you want to curl up in a ball and die.

"Robb I'm sorry." She said, tears welling up in her eyes. "But please believe me when I say nothing happened! It was a sick joke! Tell him Theon!"

She looked desperately at Theon, who was standing there as if nothing of importance was going on around him. She thought she saw him falter, when their eyes met. She thought she saw guilt flash through his eyes, but quick as it came it was gone. He just stood there, silent.

Her hear almost broke inside her chest. She thought she meant more to him than that.

"Sansa I don't know what to believe. But I want to believe that you're still my sister that wouldn't do something so ridiculously stupid. So I won't say anything to mother and father."

Sansa was still upset he could even think she would so such a thing, but she couldn't exactly complain considering that was the extent to which she would be punished. "Oh Robb thank you-"

He cut her off with a damming glare. "On one condition. You two do not interact. You only speak when it is necessary, and you are never alone together. Am I understood?" The way he scolded her made him look so much older than he was. Like he was her father, ruler of a great land. It was terrifying (though still not as terrifying as he father).

"Robb-" began Sansa, about to reason with him, but with one more glance at his angry face, her words got lost in her throat. "I understand." She finished with a defeated sigh.

Robb nodded curtly, then moved his gaze to Theon. "Leave." He made no argument, just followed his friend's order. He didn't walk with any shame though. He sauntered out of her room as if he didn't have a care in the world.

Robb stayed put after Theon left. He made no move to leave, just stood there, lips pursed, eyes closed. "Robb?" said Sansa hesitantly. She hoped with Theon gone she could reason with her brother, make him believe her, but he did not reply. She tried again.

"Robb I'm sorry." His eyes snapped open, and he looked at her, with so much menace it scared her. "Just don't Sansa. Don't." He snapped. "I just...I just can't believe this."

"Then don't!" she pleaded "You know I'm not like that."

"Sansa I have no idea who you are anymore!" Robb yelled back. He looked more sad than angry now, realising all of his frustrations that he had held pent up for too long.

Sansa frowned. "I'm still the same girl I've always been."

Robb shook his head sadly. "No you're not. Ever since the royal family came, you've been distant, and you've been treating your family like a burden, not a blessing."

Sansa's heart sunk. Did they really think that? She knew she'd physically fought with Arya, something she had never done before...she'd been acting like being a Stark was something to be ashamed of, not something to be proud of. Maybe she had changed, and she just hadn't noticed it.

"I don't mean to act that way, you must know that?"

"No we don't Sansa." Snapped Robb. "All we see is you bashing us to get in with them. It can hurt."

"I didn't know I was acting any differently." She whispered, hanging her head in shame.

"You really didn't notice." He said sarcastically, gesturing round her room. "Look at this. I would have never caught you with a boy before, let alone my best friend."

"Robb I've already said-"

"I know what you've said Sansa." said Robb, cutting her off. "But I've heard too much shit lately to know when I'm being told to truth and when I'm being played for a fool." He glanced at her sadly. "I'm sorry I hurt you little sister. I really am. It's something I'll never forget, and always regret, but I can't let this go." He started walking towards the door, pausing before he left. "I think you need to remember that your family can be your future too." With those words he left, leaving Sansa all alone once more.
