Chapter 14 Recovery and a New Friend

Char's POV

I felt a pain in my head, like a bad migraine, but this paled in comparison to the pain in my chest. I opened my eyes to see I was in a bright white room lying in a strange bed with a greenish blue blanket over me. My ears were ringing but it was starting to stop and I could hear a strange beeping to my right, and that's when I started to freak out a bit.

I was plugged into this weird machine with flashing lights and a green line that was moving up and down at times. I also noticed my arm was stinging and looked to see that I had some kind of cord stabbed into me and it had red stuff in it... is that...My Blood?!

"Wha-where am I? What's going on!?"

The machine with the bumping line seemed to know I was awake because it was starting to beep faster and the numbers were turning yellow. I grabbed the wires that were attached to my chest and pulled them off my chest, and suddenly the machine got mad and started to make a terrible high pitched wine and everything went red on the screen.

"Ahh! I'm sorry, stop!"

I threw the wires back at it but it just kept screaming at me, so I conjured a fireball in my hand and aimed it at the machine.

"Stop it! Stop or I'll shoot!"

Then suddenly a lady came running in and startled me so I accidentally threw the fireball at her, luckily she ducked and it hit the door.

"What in the world is going on in here?!"

"I-I don't know!"

I was so confused and frankly scared I actually started crying but I was still glaring and had my hands up but I suddenly got lightheaded and saw the cord in my arm popped out and I was bleeding all over my arm. The lady had a shocked look and ran over to me, then I blacked out again.

I woke up again and opened my eyes to see I was still in the same room with the same machines beeping at me. I tried to sit up again but to my surprise I was strapped down to the bed.

"What's going on? Let me out!"

Then the same lady from before came into the room. She had purple hair and black cat like ears and was wearing a rainbow shirt and skirt and a white doctors coat.

"Hay calm down, my names Jenette and I'm your doctor. You're in the hospital."

The hospital? That's right, the attack, the battle with Alison...

"What happened?"

The Lady smiled and relaxed a bit, happy to see I was calming down.

"Well Mr. Inferno, you were pretty beat up when you were brought to us. You had about 7 broken bones, a fractured skull, numerous cuts and deep gashes, three holes in your chest and a severed tail. Most of your smaller injuries healed pretty quickly on there own, including your tail growing back, but the more severe wounds are going to take some time to heal. They should be mostly fine by now though."

That confused me a bit, my bigger wounds should take more time to heal but they should be fine now at the same time?

"Wait, what do mean they should be fine 'by now'?"

Jenette frowned, a clear sign that I'm not going to like what she's going to say next.

"I'm sorry, but you've been unconscious for about six days now."

"WHAT?!"

Fatch's POV

The school had been repaired curtesy of the Archangel Assembly and was just like new in only about two days time. It's about noon now and I had just gotten a call from Jenette saying Char was finally awake, after I'd hung up the phone I rushed to tell everyone and get out the door to the hospital.

I'd quickly arrived at the hospital thanks in part to my incredible speed. I went to the front desk, signed in, and was directed to his room.

Walking inside I saw Char laying on the bed with a lot of bandages on him, and for some reason he was glaring at the heart monitor.

"Hi Char."

He looked over at me and quickly broke into a smile waving me over.

"Hay Fatch! Oh you've got no idea how nice it is to have some company, all I've had is this beeping thing. Jenette swears its harmless but I still hate it."

"Haha, it's good to see you to Char. We were all really worried, you were impaled on some rebar in the wreckage and your inner fire was almost out. Have they told you how long you've been out?"

"Yea, six days, I still find it hard to believe I missed a whole week."

"Hay Char?"

Char turned around to look at me and his smile dropped, great now he's worried.

"Hay Fatch, are you alright?"

"Um yea I'm fine, it's just... Now that were friends I feel like I should tell you about my past."

"Umm ok, are you sure? You don't have to if you don't want to, I can already tell this is hard for you."

He's right this is hard, but I need to tell him, he deserves to know.

"Char your my friend, you helped save my friends from that Alison lady for Flash sakes. And besides, everybody in the entire school knows about my past anyway, you deserve to know as well."

about an hour later

I told him everything, my abduction, the torture from those two animals, the depression, the attempt... to...

"By Umbra Fatch, are you alright? Damnos de Mortis, I am so sorry for all that you've been through."

"I-It's ok Char, it wasn't your fault. And don't worry, I'll be alright."

"Fatch, if you ever need to talk to someone, just to let your feelings go, I'll be there to help you out. You and me, we're really alike if you think about it."

"H-how so?"

"We both have deadly power that we have no idea how to control, we were both kinda outcasts on the first few days of school, and we've both been through a terrible ordeal."

"Wait, what 'terrible ordeal' do you mean?"

"I-I don't know, but when you where talking about the pain you went through at the hands of the ones who kidnapped you, I felt a tug at my heart and a great pain in my head. I may not remember what happened to me but I know it will be hard for me when I do remember. So you see? I am probably one of the only people who can relate to what you've gone through."

I was about to respond but then everyone else who I'd left at the school came through the door.

"We can talk more later if you want Fatch. Hay everyone! It's great to see you guys, thanks for visiting me!"

He's right, he really is one of the only ones who can truly relate to me.
