It was January 28, 2013. Light Yagami was running away from Near, and from his friends. Everything was painful. He thought about the time before he got the notebook. The time when his life wasn't such a mess. He only wished that he never saw the notebook at that moment. He knew his end was near. He remembered what Ryuk told him. He would be the one that would write Light's name in the Death Note. Light knew that this would be that moment. Ryuk also told him that he wouldn't go to hell nor heaven. He would simply fade from existence. He didn't want anyone to forgive him, except for one single person: L. He knew that he didn't deserve forgiveness, but he could only hope that L would've forgiven him. He was still running. He wouldn't give up. It got harder to run. He stopped running, and just started walking. He looked at the stairs that were in front of him. At that moment he felt that it was his time to go. His heart stopped. Light had a short moment in which he could feel the pain, but could still watch. He looked in front of him, even though he couldn't move his body. He saw L. He wasn't smiling. He just stood there. It even seemed like he was sad. It felt like L forgave him. Then Light closed his eyes.

November 13, 2007. L suddenly woke up in an unknown room. He could barely breathe for a moment. His body felt strange. It was cold. The last thing he remembered was seeing Light smiling over him. He remembered dying. He started screaming. He had no clue to what was going on. He was murdered by his best friend, but he was back. "How am I here?" L whispered to himself. He thought about what would happen now. Roger didn't know which one L wanted as his successor, so L supposed that both of them would be his successors. L looked outside. "My time is over." He whispers. "I suppose that I should remain dead, for the sake of the others. I can't just walk in there again. They would be traumatized. And after all, they can't simply trust a dead guy just because he thought he saw a smile on Light's face before he died." L thought. "I suppose that I've passed the Kira case on to my successors, Near and Mello. Learning more about my return is my top priority right now." L thinks. He looked at the room. "I think it's time to pay an old partner a visit."

October 28, 2015. Drew is hiding in a park in the city. He grabbed a newspaper, and he is reading it. He saw a picture of himself in it. He knew that his parents saw this too. What would they be thinking right now? He knew that his life was over. He couldn't stay in the Chūbu region. He couldn't even stay in Japan. He had to leave Japan if he wanted to escape this. He decided that he should try to get on an airplane without getting recognized and without paying. It would be hard, but he wanted to try it. He would try to go to Mexico. Kira's followers were very active in Mexico. He would be more safe there. He saw some tourists nearby. They were holding a map. Drew stood up and walked towards the tourists. "Excuse me, would you mind if I looked at your map for a moment?" Drew asked. They gave Drew the map. He looked at where he currently was, and where he had to go. Then he gave the map back. He walked away.

One of the tourists grabs his phone. "Hello, I think I just saw Kira." The tourist said on his phone. "I'm fairly certain about it, he looked a lot like him. He wanted to borrow our map. I don't know where he wanted to go to, but he's currently in the park." The tourist said. Then he gave the address. "Thank you." Aizawa said to the tourist. He ends the phone call. "We have Drew's location." Aizawa says. They look at Matsuda, who is still lying in the bed. "We've got him, Matsuda." Aizawa says. Matsuda smiles. "Go and get him." Matsuda says. Aizawa, Ide, Mogi and Bunzo leave. Sayu stayed behind. She grabbed a chair, and sat next to Matsuda. "You're going to be fine, Touta." Sayu says. Matsuda looks at Sayu. He remembers pulling the trigger, shooting Light. He felt terrible about it. "I'm sorry, Sayu..." Matsuda begins. Sayu looks surprised. "You don't have to apologize for chasing Drew, you silly. You just wanted to end all of this, and then the car happened. No reason to apologize." Sayu says. Matsuda's eyes get wet. "No... I'm sorry for not telling you the truth." Matsuda says.

"What do you mean?" Sayu asks. Matsuda is quiet for a moment. "Kira didn't kill Light." Matsuda begins. Sayu is getting emotional. "What do you mean, Touta?" Sayu asks. She didn't want to cry, but she had no idea what she would hear. "Kira was Light... and I shot him." Matsuda says. He is crying. Sayu suddenly can't move. She is in shock. She is crying too. Sayu stands up, and she slaps Matsuda in his face. "You killed my brother..." Sayu says. She is sad. She just learned that a friend killed her brother, who apparently was the biggest murderer known to the world. "I'm so sorry, Sayu..." Matsuda says. Sayu sits down again. "So my dad died because of Light..." She says. They are both quiet. Then Matsuda holds Sayu's hand. "He might have been a monster, but I'm sure that he never wanted your father to die." Matsuda says. Sayu looks at Matsuda. She has a small smile on her face, but she is still crying. Matsuda was being so nice to her. This really helped her. "Matsuda, please don't tell my mother that Light was Kira..." Sayu says. Matsuda nods.

Drew ran towards the airport. It was quite far away. He thought about the good times, before he found the Death Note. He remembered going on a fishing trip with his family. He never had that much fun in his life. He made new friends there, and he and his little sister had a lot of of fun while fishing. He would never see his family again. Drew was certain of that. He thought about how much fun he had with Naito. They often played football together. Drew couldn't play at all, but that made it even more fun. Drew looked at his watch. 15:27. He knew that it could take a while until he found the airport. He didn't expect to get there before half past 4.

Tir looked at Drew. "So what are you going to do now? Are you going to run for the rest of your life?" Tir asked. Drew shaked his head. "I will go to Mexico, where I'm safe. From there I will create justice." Drew says. Tir keeps a neutral face. Suddenly they hear sirens. Drew runs towards a building, and he opens the doors. He sits down. He looks through a window outside. He sees a cop in a car. The car stops near the building. Drew looks at the name of the man. 'Koga Bunzo'. Drew grabs the notebook. His hand still hurts, but it hurts a bit less. He grabs the pen, and he writes the name down.

Bunzo is on the phone with Aizawa. They are looking throughout the city for Drew. Suddenly Bunzo's heart stops. "Bunzo?! Are you still there? Bunzo?" Aizawa asks. Then he realizes that Drew got to him. Aizawa doesn't know exactly where Bunzo was, so he doesn't know where he should look. "Ide! Mogi! Bunzo is down, Drew got to him! Find Drew as fast as you can!" Aizawa tells to Mogi and Ide. Aizawa wasn't sure if all of them would make it out. "Don't die." Aizawa added to the mission.

Near was building a house of cards. Suddenly Rester gives Near a paper. "I'm resigning, Near." Rester says. Near looks at Rester, but he doesn't say anything. "We have barely helped with catching Kira, and I just heard from Aizawa that you even let him escape." Rester says. "I see." Near says. "I've been following the orders of the fourth L. I have learned that he is very trustworthy, and that is why I've been doing what he says." Near says to Rester. "Why are you so certain that you can trust the fourth L?" Rester asks. Near looks at Rester. "Because I already knew that I could trust this person back when I was still at Wammy's home." Near says. Rester is surprised. Did this mean that Near knew the identity of the fourth L? "You may resign if you want, but if you don't, then you must trust him too." Near says. Rester is quiet for a moment, and then he throws the resignation away. "I gave Colt Mattison orders to find and follow him an hour ago, in case that the fourth L isn't the same person I remember anymore." Near says.

Drew ran out of the building. He looked at his watch. 15:49. He ran towards the airport again. He had to hide from the police. He bumped his arm against someone else's arm by accident. Suddenly the wound in his arm started bleeding again. He started running. "I need to get there!" He said. Suddenly he tripped and fell to the ground. A crowd was walking past him. "I have to survive this, Tir! I just have to!" Drew says. "Just give it up already." Tir says. Drew is shocked. Tir basically told him to die. "No, I won't! I need to make it! I can create the perfect world once I'm in Mexico!" Drew says. "We both know that you won't make it to Mexico." Tir says. Drew knew that it was very unlikely, but he wanted to try. "I don't want to end my life just yet." Drew says with a sad voice.

Suddenly Drew hears the sound of a helicopter. A helicopter slowly lands in the crowd. Drew knew that they were coming for him, and so did Tir. "If you won't put an end to it..." Tir began. Drew knew what Tir was going to say. "No!" Drew yelled, while he tried to hit Tir, unsuccessfully. "...Then I will." Tir says. He grabs his Death Note, and he starts to write. 'Drew Woodland'. Tir is finished writing. Drew realized that he had only 40 seconds left in this world. Drew started crying. He looked at his watch. 35 seconds. Someone stepped out of the helicopter, but they couldn't see who. 30 seconds. The person was walking towards Drew, through the crowd. 25 seconds. Drew decided that he shouldn't run. It was over. His life was over. He had lost. He thought about Naito and Saiki. He hoped that they were in a better place, but he didn't know it. What he did know was that this would be the end of the line. He threw his Death Note on the ground, and Tir grabbed it. 10 seconds. Suddenly Tir and Drew saw who stepped out of the helicopter. It was L.

Tir started screaming. Something happened to him. He started seeing things. Things that were unknown to him until now. He remembered picking up a notebook that fell from the sky. He remembered write the name of a biker in it, and seeing the biker die. He remembered being part of the same Taskforce that was hunting Drew. He remembered being locked up in a room. He remembered standing with a family, including the girl he saw before. He remembered standing in a warehouse, and he remembered the person that stepped out of the helicopter standing over his dying body. He remembered being Light Yagami.

5 seconds were left. L looked Drew in the eyes. Drew was crying. L kept a neutral face. "Forgive me..." Drew whispered. Then his heart stopped. He collapsed onto the ground, while the crowd just walked past him. His heart had stopped. He was dead. Tir, who now remembered being Light, was standing still. He looked at L. He couldn't believe what was going on. Light quickly grabbed the notebook before L noticed. L sat down, next to Drew's dead body. L looked at his face. Drew's eyes were still opened. L closed Drew's eyes. L stands up, and walks towards the helicopter. Light starts laughing. "I did it... I have become a god!" He says. He has an evil grin on his face. He looks at L, who steps back into the helicopter. "This battle is far from over, L. I will find a new, a better successor, and then I will write your name in my notebook!" Light says, smiling. At this moment he wishes that he did in fact have the Shinigami eyes, but he didn't. He looked at the sky, and he went back to the Shinigami Realm.

October 30, 2015. Aizawa, Mogi, Ide, Matsuda, Sayu and the family members are attending the funerals of Bunzo, Konoye and Rhone. Matsuda was sitting in a wheelchair, and Sayu drove it. Matsuda would be fine after a while, but he shouldn't walk for a while. Sayu was holding Matsuda's hand. "Even though I despise your ways, I appreciate your results..." Aizawa whispers. "Alright then... I will follow you, Near, as long as you make sure that nobody else dies in vain." Aizawa adds to it.

Near is still working on an enormous castle of cards. Suddenly his phone rings. "Near, I've learned that the fourth L is going to Nepal. Do you still want me to follow him?" Mattison asks through the phone. Near is quiet for a moment. "Yes. I will arrange some plane tickets for you. You'll leave tomorrow." Near says. He ends the phone call.

L's helicopter lands next to a small hangar, somewhere in Tokyo. He steps out of the helicopter. Murphy walks towards him. "Is he ready?" L asks to Murphy. Murphy nods. "He is waiting in your jet." Murphy says. L walks towards into the hangar, where a private jet is located. "Time to go to Nepal." L says, as he walks towards the private jet, while holding a briefcase. Once he's inside the private jet he sits down, while Murphy walks towards the cockpit. L looks at the person who's also sitting in the jet. L starts to talk. "Hello, Z."

"My King, I would like to make a deal with you." The Shinigami Midora says to the Shinigami King. Midora doesn't get a reaction from the king. "I will give you 13 apples from the human world in exchange for another Death Note." Midora says, as she grabs the 13 apples. "Why do you want another Death Note?" The King asks. "Ryuk told me stories about a human with a Death Note. I want to see for myself if they're really that interesting." Midora says. The King is quiet for a moment. Then he drops a Death Note. "Now, give me the apples." The King says. "As you wish." Midora gives the King the apples. She grabs the second notebook, and she leaves to the portal to the human world. "Let's have some fun." Midora says.
