hey guys getting faster at updating whoo hoo! ok, I hope you guys like this one…it's The Recording Session! yay! kind of another tribute to Animaniacs. I don't own Animaniacs(though I wish I did) I only own Lexxi and other characters I made up enjoy!
Fourteen: The scoring session
3rd person's P.O.V.
A few days later at Warner Brothers, it was another busy morning especially at the Warner Brothers recording studio.
(Tuning)
Everyone was warming up before another recording session. Ralph was playing bass drums and timpani,Goodfeathers, playing tubular bells, Pinky and the Brain, and Skippy were playing trumpets, the mime a mime trumpet, Runt on cello, Scratchansniff and two others on trombones, Slappy and her friend Vina on flutes, and everybody else was playing a violin.
Everything stopped when the conductor walked in. It was a very serious looking rhino wearing a tux with a bluebird on his shoulder. ''Settle people settle.'' He cleared his throat and the little bird did to. ''Good morning, your'e regular conductor Richard Stone is off having a long deserved rest in Rio So I, Neivel Nosenest shall conduct today's'' he sighed, ''scoring session.''
''Before we begin I have three rules which must be obeyed number one, no one is to be late…'' The door burst open and Dot walked in, ''sorry I'm late'' she raced to her seat knocking down a few podiums with sheet music, set her violin and sat down. Neivel glared at her, ''oh don't mind me just go right ahead.''
Nievel cleared his throat again, ''rule number two never interrupt me when…'' the door burst open again, and Lexxi and Yakko walked in. ''Sorry to interrupt but does anyone know where were sitting?'' Nievel growled ''there'' they walked to their seats. ''Thanks'' said Yakko,''nice tie yard sale?'' Lexxi laughed but Nievel looked really mad. ''Rule number three, musicians will arrive with their instruments tuned and prepared to play.''
That's when Wakko came in.
''Hi do you happen to know if there's a recording session today?''
Nievel banged on his podium ''yes! there is a recording session today.''
''Oh. Well I left my sheet music in the water tower do you have an extra copy I can borrow?''
''just take you're seat there's music on the stands.'' ''Thanks.'' Wakko looked around ''say where's Richard?''
Nievel sighed ''As I already explained he's out today I am the guest conductor Nievel Noesnest.'' Yakko and Dot looked at each other''Nievel Nosenest?'' Lexxi smirked as they tried not to laugh. ''How do you get a name like Noesnest?'' the little bluebird that was flying around suddenly flew in Nievel's nose where his little nest was.
Dot grimaced ''forget I asked.'' Yakko and Wakko shook their heads ''ewww'' ''ok that is so wrong'' Lexxi said shuddering. Nievel ignored them. ''Alright people please turn to the first piece of music.''
Nievel took out a small box with his baton, Dot took out her violin, Yakko took out his piano that was in a small case, Lexxi also took out her violin and tuned her guitar just in case, and Wakko opened a music case, brought out a lunchbox and took out…a sandwich and ate it.
He took out the paper bag he had, and dumped out a drum set. He walked over to it, reached into his hat and pulled out two chicken legs ''drumsticks.''
Nievel turned towards the projector behind him, ''People settle, the cartoon were scoring today is called Lights, Camera, Traction.'' ''And in this scene I need you to apegiate the cords into the modulation and out of the first movement. Everybody looked at him confused.
''Duhh what does that mean?'' asked Ralph, ''it means play it like cartoon music Ralph.'' Everybody nodded, ''now that makes sense'' said Lexxi. Nievel tapped his baton ''here we go 1,2,3,4'' the cartoon started and everyone started to play. ''Hold it!'' Dot shouted, the music stopped.
''What?''
''yes I have a question on page three bar 2 measure 41, I have a B flat did you mean to write a B flat?''
''Um I have A sharp'' said Scratchansniff, Runt nodded ''yeah I have a G flat, yeah,definitely a G flat.'' Ralph scratched his head, ''uh I think mine's is an M.''
Everyone started to complain about their sheet music and Nievel was about to blow a fuse. ''Quiet!'' everyone went silent and Nievel walked over to Dot. ''Of course it's a B flat see? B flat it's supposed to be a B flat.'' ''That's what I thought fine, if that's what you want a B flat it is.'' Nievel did a face palm and walked back up to the podium.
''Let's move on shall we?'' (Animaniacs melody)the cartoon continued, and everyone went back to playing the music. When the cartoon showed the sun starting to rise Wakko took out his mallet, and hit the symbol. Nievel took the mallet from him, ''give me that! what does it say here? it says piano, piano means soft your'e supposed to play piano.''
Yakko smirked. ''Right'' Yakko started playing a Jazz melody with Lexxi on guitar and everyone joined in. ''No, no that's all wrong stop it, stop it at once I say'' Yakko kept playing until Nievel slammed the piano closed ''I said stop!'' he sighed and walked back to his podium.
Lexxi glared at him ''hmm I guess he doesn't like jazz.'' Nievel stared at her ''what was that?'' ''nothing'' Lexxi said with a halo over her head. Nievel grunted. ''Let's pick it up from 1M3 bar 22 the violin solo.'' ''Violinists the next part is very cartoony so I need you to purposely play this section badly.''
Dot smiled, ''well you've come to the right place'' Lexxi smirked as she switched back to her violin, ''yeah this should be easy.'' ''Can we play badly to?'' asked Wakko, Yakko smirked ''we won't let you down'' ''No.'' ''Bar 22 and 1,2,3 and…'' the violinists played the next section, and soon Skippy joined in on trumpet. Pretty soon, music notes were floating around the room and Wakko didn't like it.
He grabbed a fly swatter and started chasing them away, but some of them landed on Dot, Lexxi, and Hello Nurse's music.''Oh come on this is unplayable.''
Nievel kept conducting as the notes started floating around him. ''Ah get these things away from me!'' Yakko and Wakko ran up to him with bug spray and Wakko's fly swatter, ''stand back! we'll take care of this.'' ''Bad notes, bad, bad notes!'' and just like that, the notes were gone. ''There, our job here is done'' ''congratulations'' Dot handed them a trophy and Lexxi and Slappy took a picture. ''Thank you. And a special thanks to all the little quarter notes that made this possible.''
Nievel glared at them. ''Alright that does it'' Nievel was so mad that steam blew out of his nose and the little bird flew away, ''how can I conduct when you four are driving me crazy?'' we'll show you how.'' Yakko took the baton, ''I think it should go uhhh something like this.'' Everyone started playing(melody to Animaniacs theme song) and Yakko kept conducting until Nievel took the baton from him.
''Stop it right now!'' ''yeah it's my turn'' Dot took the baton and conducted the next part(music from Chalkboard Hassle) Nievel took the baton again, ''this is not the right music'' Wakko took it from him, ''How bout this?''(Chicken Boo theme song) ''Give me that!'' he walked back up to the podium and started conducting the right music. ''Yes like this better, very nice.'' Lexxi snuck up his sleeve and grabbed the baton.
''Come back here with that!'' (music from Bubba Bob Brain) Nievel grabbed it from her and again, tried to play the right music Yakko tried to grab it from him, as the melody went back and forth. Nievel was so mad he started going after them. He had them backed into a corner and was about to lunge at them, right as the music and the cartoon ended.
Everyone cheered, ''Nice job there Nievel'' said Dot, Wakko smiled. ''Faboo'' Nievel smiled and he took a bow.
''Sounded great Mr. uh, Nosenest'' said one of the guys in the recording booth. ''Thank you, it did go rather well didn't it?''
''Absoultely and were ready to record anytime you are.'' Nievel face palmed. ''You mean you didn't record what we just did?''
''No we were just setting the levels.'' Nievel growled ''oh alright places everybody.'' Everybody got ready to play again and Nievel tapped his baton but…''Union break!'' everybody raced out. Nievel stared at the room shocked. ''No wait, please, come back!'' Nievel laughed madly as he ran through the wall and out of the studio.'' The Warners and Lexxi watched him leave. ''Huh, wonder what was wrong with him'' Wakko shrugged. ''Don't know.'' Yakko shook his head, ''you know, that's the fifth conductor we lost this week.''
