Team SABL Ch 14

Outside the shop

"That was productive." Silver grumbled to himself as he started wandering Vale.

He thought back to when he had first washed up in Vale. It had been a bright and sunny day.

"Wait, aren't most of the days here in Vale bright and sunny? Have we had even one storm since I've been here?" Silver thought out loud as his feet carried him down old paths he had stalked before.

He'd wandered around town for about a month after waking up here going through the underground fight rings. After that the old man had found him. Investigation at much later date and time had revealed that Muramasa's shop had been robbed by some thug with a supernatural fetish. Sure the blade had actually been demonic, but it had considered its "master" a weak ass individual with no potential.

So Muramasa had reclaimed his stolen property and had bid Silver to follow him.

"It's been a long time since I've seen someone like you." He had said.

Silver looked up at the sound of a foghorn going off. "I guess they get a lot of mist and fog. I'd kill for some rain right now."

"What will you do now partner?" A soft voice asked Silver.

"Probably get drunk, at least try, pick a fight, sleep it all off like a bad hangover and be late to class." Silver checked his schedule again. "Yep, Port, I can be late."

"I thought you said you were going to live a better life now?" The voice asked again.

"I said I'd try. This is me failing at that." Silver argued.

"Then why remain at Beacon if you're just going to accept failure?" This time the bat on his necklace came to life and took off into the sky circling him.

"Point goes to you." Silver sighed looking out over the ocean.

"Perhaps then we should look into the magic you have discovered rather than mope about. Productivity is usually a good thing." His former piece of jewelry advised him.

"Kivat the 77th, that's what you introduced yourself as. You said when we met that I had a strong magical potential." Silver once more began to wander the area.

"Surely you know more about magic than you let on." Silver asked the bat.

"I do know more about magic, however so do you. Your amnesia has hidden many of your skills save those directly tied to your body." Kivat said sagely.

"So study something a potential madman wrote up in hopes it'll jog my memories?" Silver said sarcastically.

"It's the best idea we've had so far." Kivat shot back.

"Yeah." He sighed as he set a course for the airships back to Beacon. It'd be a long walk, but at least by the time he got back he'd feel slightly better. He couldn't really hold onto anger. Stew he could do, hold onto it? Not really.

"Demise smiles upon me this day." A deep booming voice shouted from behind Silver. As the ground shook and Silver turned around to defend against an attack only for a bolt of lightning to strike him blasting his feet out from under him throwing on his back.

"Revenge has never been sweeter." The voice said as it approached Silver.

"Silver!" A distant voice shouted. "Fight!" It was echoed by Kivat.

Silver swung his legs around to stand up. "Kivat, Henshin!" Silver said facing his opponent who was shrouded in shadow.
