I know you're all probably tired of my late updates but this time I have a legit excuse haha.

1.) My life has been hectic these past few weeks. I've been dealing with some friendship problems and I finally learned who and who not to trust:/

2.) I am doing a speech for my eighth grade recognition so I've been trying to write that...I have nothing.

3.) My eighth grade class took a trip to D.C Fri-Sun and we got back late last night. (8 hours on a bus with 44 students and 3 teachers is, in fact, very interesting and loud)

So that's my life in the past few weeks.

Also! If anyone has anything they would like to see in this story let me know! Please, do not feel shy to leave honest feedback. You are you 'stepping on anyone's toes' because I encourage you to! If you don't like wher this is going, let me know that as well:)

Thanks guys! Review and Read on!

The meeting ended shortly after. The boys talked strategies and planned the attack out in great detail. Braid took no part in this discussion, however, Even when the boys stood up to discuss in pairs Braid remained on the floor with her knees to her chest and her chin resting on her knees. She listened closely, and each word out of the boys mouth made her want to slap herself in the face for being so stupid.

Why did I tell them about Eyes? He doesn't even exist! Braid mentally scolded herself. Maybe the boys would give up and quit? Probably not. Braid wasn't that dumb to rely on that theory.

With in fifteen minutes later the only newsies remaining her Spot's room was Manhattan and the King of Brooklyn himself.

"After tomorrow maybe High-Brow will use that brain of his to realize how dumb this war is and call it off." Spot said. Jack nodded.

"Yeah, a boy can dream, eh? We better head back, though. It's getting late." The two leaders spit-shook and race tipped his cap to Spot respectively.

"Night. Oh, and Braid? Thanks for the information. If we win this war tomorrow we owe it all to you." Spot tipped his cap to her before shutting the door.

Braid put on a fake smile, her temple now pounding like a speaker at a club.

Braid was glad the temperature had gone up since they left for Brooklyn. The air was now just right and the moon shone bright above the city lights. They walked in silence, the only sound being the rocks race kicked ahead on him. Finally, they stepped into the lodging house. Jack and race bid her goodnight before silently sunning up the steps to their bunks. Braid, instead of going up to her room, walked into the tiny kitchen they had and grabbed a foggy glass from the worn, paint-chipped cupboard. She filled it with water from the sink and sat down at the table near the window.

The kitchen wasn't an actual kitchen. Since the newsboys didn't really eat there, it was more of a place to make the lodging house feel more like home to the boys. It contained three cupboard, one for plates, one for cups, and one for bowls. Each was worn down with brown paint chipping off. The plate cupboard door was handing off the top hinge. Below them under the shelves were two drawers. Each drawer was, like the cupboards, worn and had brown paint chipping off. The thing that made the drawers special was the names etched into them. Every time a new newsie came to the Lodging House they etched their newsie name into one of the door. One drawer held silverware and the other held napkins and paper products.

Beside the drawers and on the shelve was a metal sink. To everyone's surprise, it ran both hot and cold water. Not that the newsies complained or anything, they loved it!

Finally, in the far right corner was a cabinet that held whatever food they needed to supply. It was painted brown and was in pretty good condition. Inside was a pack of crackers, an apple, and somebody's left overs from Tibby's.

Braid sipped her water and stared out of the window, She studied a figure off into the distance. they looked like they were still young.

Probably another street kid. Braid thought, turning back to her water. She almost knocked it over when she turned back to the window only to see the street kid peering in.

Braid jumped up, her water forgotten, and ran out the front door. She walked along the side of the building to the back where the window to the kitchen would be. Still standing in the same position was Fly.

"Fly?" She whispered. He turned around and smiled at her. He looked calm and relaxed but his eyes showed worry.

"Hey, Whisk." He said, walking up to and wrapping his arms around her for a hug. She hugged him back and rested her forehead on his shoulder.

"Oh my gosh, Fly. That kid..." She started.

"I know, I know. I'm sorry, I tried to stop it I really did. High-Brow was furious though. He sent Boxer, Weight, and Stripes out." Fly explained, still holding on to Brad.

"The kid wa so young! he didn't deserve that! It's all my fault! I'm to weak! If I would have just not said anything to High-Brow..."

"No, this isn't your fault, it's mine. I should have dropped the matter in the first place." The two broke the hug and Braid leaned against the building.

"Listen, I just came over here to see if you were okay. I knew you probably saw Tweet, and I wanted to make sure you were okay. And, if...um..."

"I'm betraying you guys?" She finished, a smirk on her face.

"Yeah." Fly mumbled. Braid chucked.

"No, I'm always loyal to my borough, no matter how stupid they an be." She said, looking Fly in the eye. He let out a sigh of relief.

"Thanks. I have to get back before I risk you being caught." he said, turning away. She nodded.

"Okay, but listen," she ran up beside him, "-tell High-Brow to make sure all of his boys get straight back to the Lodging House after they sell. Don't let anyone go near Deviso's." Fly looked confused, but he didn't press the subject.

"Okay, I'll tell him." And with that, Fly turned on his heels and sprinted off toward Queens.

How was that? I loved writing the scene between Braid and Fly:) I thought it was cute:)

How did you guys see it? Older brother-little sister? Friend-Friend? Boyrfriend-Girlfriend? Tell me:) I'm curious to know.

Thanks guys! Review please:)
