A few lonely night later Andy was sitting perched high a wall, clicking her nails impatiently. The vamp she watched scurrying around was obviously a new one. He was not very good at sneaking around in the shadows, and Andy had tracked him across the whole town. She had grown tired of waiting for him to bring her back to his nest, so she slipped off the wall, turning to mist before she hit the ground. She drifted towards the new vampire, re materializing a few feet from him. She walked past him, where he was hiding, as if she didn't see him, He reached out towards her and she snapped around, grabbing him around the throat.

"Hello there. No' doing a ver'a good job of stayin' unseen. What would your sire say?" The fledgling was scratching at her hand, trying desperately to get away. He reached for his wand, but Andy was faster, grabbing it from his belt and snapping in with a single hand.

"Where is your nest? I would like to have a word with your clan." The response she got was no more than a strangled hiss.

"Well, I guess it doesn' matter. I can trace your magic all the way back to your shite hole of a hide out. Unfortunately, tha' means tha' I have no use for you anymore." Andy slipped a thin stiletto dagger from the sheath at her left thigh.

"Shhhh." She warned, squeezing his throat to stifle the noises he was making. She stabbed the long silver blade right into his heart, twisting violently when the hilt hit his chest. The vampire before her jerked and fell limp. She dropped him, the blade slipping from his chest, watching as he hit the ground with a dull thud. Andy knew that she would take his head, just to be sure he was dead, but before she could, the body burst into flames. Andy disappeared with a low growl as she took in her surroundings, trying to spot the caster. Oh bloody hell

"He was already dead right?" Hermione asked.

"Yes Hermione, or else I wouldn't have cast the spell." Harry retorted.

Andy stomped back into view and glared at the two. She angrily snapped the stilletto back into it's sheath.

"Wha' are ya' doing?" Andy snarled at the two.

"Believe it or not, you need our help. And we are too involved to just walk away." Hermione said stubbornly.

"I can make ya'." Andy warned, eyes glowing eerily.

"But you won't." Harry replied, not seemingly affected by her threat.

"Come back with us, we can work together." Hermione pleaded.

"No. It's no longer a Ministry case. Its my problem now, and I intend to finish this by myself."

"Ronalds not with us." Hermione spoke aloud, causing Andy to freeze up.

"It doesn' matter anymore." She said coldly, keeping her face emotionless.

"Why is this suddenly personal to you. Why is this Helcian so important to you?" Harry asked.

Andy grew restless, ready to be off of the streets.

"Fine, I will tell ya' what ya' want. But this doesn' mean that ya' are allowed to help me."

"We will have to see about that ." Hermione said as if to end the matter, and grabbed ahold of Andy, apparating them away.

Andy was very grateful that they hadn't returned to the flat. She wasn't sure if she could stand the place, still smelling of Ron, and the memories that were there.

"Sit." Hermione instructed. Both Andy and Harry followed her order.

"First of all, I must say that this new Andy that we have is scaring me just a tad bit."

"Hermione, this is who I am, I only play nice when working with others."

"Not just the attitude, the clothing. Its very uhm, dramatic. That's a lot of leather, and you're carrying weapons now. And your shoes are not work sanctioned." Hermione said, pointing at Andy's spiked heels.

"Secondly, I AM going to bring up your attitude towards this whole thing. You told me that you didn't like who you were before, so don't try to be that person again. Stop the pity party." Andy looked over to Harry, slightly alarmed at the rant that Hermione had gotten into.

"Lastly, Harry was right. This is all because of the Helcian bloke. And it is about time that you tell us the whole story." The brunette said, arms across her chest. Andy sighed.

"Hermione, the details are no' important, I just need this to be finished."

"Best not try and tell her that details are not important. This woman's whole job is about the details." Harry mentioned leaning back in his seat.

Andy threw herself back in her seat as well, and sighed loudly.

"Fine. I will tell ya'. This is something tha' is so secret tha' I am the only person tha' knows. Dumbledore and Merlin both took this secret to their grave. And the only written record is in Merlins personal journals, which only I know where they are." She licked her lips and wondered where to start.

"Helcian was the leader of the vampires during the uprising. He had taken interest in my father's lands. But then he had taken interest in my father's bride. She was no' his mate, but he wanted to turn her and claim her anyway. My father was away fighting the war, and she couldn' stop Helcian. Merlin, only 14 at the time, saved my mother from Helcian, and he managed to escape. My mother didn'na change though; the venom didn'na take affect.

"She found out she was pregnant with me later. And shortly after that she found out tha' my father was killed in the war. But my mother was strong, she took over my father's lands and raised me by herself. A few months after my 16th birthday, Helcian came back with several other vampires; He had come back for my mother, and the lands. My mother rejected him yet again, and so he was going to punish her by turning me in front of her.

"I was human, mostly I guess. It wasn't until decades later tha' I realized I wasn't completely. The venom that Helcian infected my mother with had been transferred to me while I was still developin' inside her. When Helcian bit me, the venom acted like a jumpstart on the dormant genes. Then Helcian killed my mother, right in front of me. I… I lost control. Mentally and physically forced through the change, I snapped.

"I ripped the first vampires head clean off his shoulders with nothing more then my bare next 59 years were just as bloody, just as violent. I became a sociopath, fueled by hatred and the ongoing war. Helcian believed tha' he had created me, but he didn'na exactly know how, and because of my strength and my unique condition Helcian would frequently try to claim me during the war; tryin' to kill me and my allies when I refused. Eventually, he disappeared and I thought him dead. But now he may be back, and trying to recreate more like me. He mostly likely believes me dead as well, and it should stay that way until the second I stab him in the heart."

"That is a complicated past." Harry whistled.

"A pregnant victim? That's how a daywalker is created? Oh Merlin! If Helcian ever discovered that that is the way to create more, ... No wonder you can't have anyone finding out." Hermione covered her mouth in horror.

"Andy, I understand the need to stop him, but the past is in the past. Don't let yourself be sucked into the memories of war and the person you were back then." Harry said gently.

"Having friends around that can help you through it will make it easier. Believe me, you don't want to isolate yourself right now."

"Harry is right. As much as you don't want us to be here, its exactly what you can keep doing things your way and we will be here for support." the brunette woman said.

"We will stay out of the vampire part of it, and focus on the wizards. But if you run into trouble we will be there to back you up. We need to stay in touch about this." Harry said.

Andy rolled her eyes with a whisper of a grin. Her wall crumbled a little.

"I certainly didn't miss the bossyness." She huffed, but was almost glad that she no longer had to be alone.
