A Queen's Worst Fear Comes True

Henry send word that he will like to meet with Doctor Harris at once on a cold winter's night.

""Your majesty" states Doctor Harris one of the royal physicians at court as he bows to his King.

Henry looks at one of his trusted physicians to says impatiently "Doctor, why is the Queen not with child as of yet?"

"Your majesty, I am not sure why the Queen is not with child" replies Doctor Harris then he continues to say "We could send for Lady Browne" who was a well respected midwife and currently was at court.

"Yes" says Henry immediately before signalling for one of his grooms to come forward "Go and get Lady Browne now"

"This particular groom says politely "Of course your majesty" as he leaves the King's privy council chambers to find the lady in question.

Almost fifteen minutes later, the groom formally introduces the woman in question. Lady Browne says "Your majesty" to Henry before adding "Doctor" to Doctor Harris.

"Henry says as he slams his cup of wine on the table "The Queen is not with child yet and we have been wedded for over seven months" as remembers the two women that once held his heart: the Dowager Princess of Wales and the witch Lady Anne Boleyn.

Lady Browne thinks about for a moment before saying "I am not sure why the Queen is not with child but we could monitor her monthly bleeding and the times that you visit the Queen's bed"

"That will be a reasonable direction to take" states Doctor Harris as he gives his own medical input.

Henry states firmly "Figure it out soon" knowing that he will not remain in a marriage where his Queen could not deliver him a son especially when both of his living children were bastards.

"Lady Browne, what news have you brought today?" asks Henry knowing that this information could change his marriage forever.

Lady Browne takes a deep breathe before saying "I believe that the Queen is unable to carry a child in her womb"

"The Queen is barren" states Henry harshly to the midwife that deliver the news to him.

"Yes your majesty" says Lady Browne before explaining to him "If it was possible for the Queen to become with child, you would already have a babe in the royal nursery" knowing that the Queen bleed regularly.

"Of course husband" states Jane hoping that her step-daughter Mary will be welcomed back into the royal family as a Princess of England leaving the harlot's daughter as a bastard.

Henry coldly states "This marriage will be over in the matter of days" as he looks at a confuse Jane.

"Why?" asks Jane not believing what she is hearing from her beloved Henry.

"You my dear wife are barren" says Henry harshly as he walks out of the Queen's apartments.
