The One That Got Away
Chapter 14
Disclaimer: This is fiction. It did not really happen. I only own London.
A/N: I haven't disappeared, I promise! This is the issue I have with posting too many stories at once lol A massive thank you to: nattiebroskette, alibob687 (I am quite evil...mwahahaha), Pinayprincesa, DenyingTheTruth (Wade will never not be in trouble with her friends lol), Jenni, aussieKayz, and Draxca (Oh wow! Thank you so much! I appreciate your dedication to London and Wade! Gonna be honest, while I'd always intended on updating, reading this one put the flag in my brain to update sooner rather than later!). I hope you guys enjoy this. I hate the fact that it's Sunday, and I have work in the morning. Being up at 5:30 and coming home hopefully at 5:30 is a lot to deal with...even though this job is a million times easier than working in retail was. I sit at a desk and try to write when I'm not busy lol Anyways, I love you guys and hope you enjoy this update! XoXoXo
When London opened her eyes the next morning she immediately felt the pain associated with her expected hangover. And after that, she felt the body spooning her from behind. London was quickly overcome with nervousness and confusion. She couldn't remember sleeping with anyone. She glanced over her shoulder, afraid of who she was going to see. Upon recognizing Wade's sleeping form, she surprisingly felt relief take over. Her tensed up body almost instantly relaxed. London knew that this wasn't necessarily a good thing…but she wanted to be able to enjoy it. She pressed her body back a bit, even closer to his.
Though London didn't fall back asleep, she continued to lay in Wade's arms, feeling comfortable and happy. She knew that this was definitely opening up a whole can of worms for her, and this was definitely going to complicate their already complicated situation, but she didn't care to think about any of that for the time being.
Eventually, London felt Wade's lips on the side of her neck, as he had obviously woken up. She let out a low moan, happy to feel him there with her, being affectionate.
"Good morning, birthday girl," he spoke, his voice low and grumbly.
A smile formed across her lips. "Good morning, handsome," she reciprocated.
"Part of me was afraid that you were going to incredibly cross when you woke up with me here," Wade admitted.
"How could I be? I've finally gotten laid. It's my birthday. I had a great night. I'm hungover. This is the kind of birthday that I've needed," London told him. "Besides, it's you, Wade." She turned around in his arms, finally looking at his face. He quickly pressed a kiss to her lips.
"God, I've missed this. I love waking up with you," Wade told her with a sincere smile adorning his face.
"I guess I'd forgotten how great it felt to be held by you," she breathed.
He pulled her body closer to his. She brought a hand onto his face. "You know what this means, right?" he questioned her with an arrogant smirk.
She raised an eyebrow. "What's that?"
"Now, I know that I can have you back. It may take some work, but it'll be worth it in the end. It will all be absolutely perfect."
London chuckled. "Oh yeah? You think that you're gonna win me back?"
"Oh I know I am," he smugly and confidently replied.
"Yeah? Fine. Bring it. See if you can convince me to give you another chance. Sleeping with me doesn't mean that you're so much closer to getting me to give you a shot."
"Oh I know that it doesn't guarantee me a thing, but it does tell me that you're willing to interact with me…and that you're not hating me. You're at least semi-interested in me or else you wouldn't be here with me right now."
She rolled her eyes at him. "You're way too cocky. I can knock you down a few pegs, if you'd like me to," she warned him.
"No, I'm good. But just watch me. I'm gonna make you want to be with me again. And I won't be a jackass and muck it up this time."
London gave him a small smile. "Why are you so hooked on me?"
"You're one of a kind. You're the only woman who has ever made me put in effort. You don't fall all over yourself for me. Even when we met, you were unlike anyone I had ever met. You're still unlike anyone that I've ever met. You always gave me a hard time. You always required effort…you made me show you how badly I needed you. You were far from easy. That made me respect you so much more. I've never put in so much effort to get a female interested in me. And I always swore I would never be one of those desperate sods trying to get a woman to fall in love with him. But you were the only one who was ever worth it. You made me happy, and it isn't easy to make me happy. But you just…changed everything. You're so unlike anyone I have ever known and ever been with. And I…I just can't seem to move on from you," he explained.
A smile played on London's lips. "You know how to make a lady feel special."
"You should feel special. Besides, when I'm shagging you, you make me come harder than anyone else could ever make me."
She laughed. "Pervert."
"Oh really? Because you didn't seem to be complaining too much last night," he shot.
"Of course I wasn't going to complain. I was getting laid," she retorted.
Wade let out a laugh. "You're fun. Did you know that? I genuinely enjoy myself so much when I'm with you."
"Well, you're not too bad yourself."
"I want you to be mine so badly," he complained with a groan. "Seriously, you have no idea how happy it makes me to be around you again."
London entangled her legs with Wade's. "Regardless of the fact that I'm going to give you a hard time again, I do hope you know that I still love you," she admitted.
"Well, I do enjoy hearing you say that. I'm sure that you know I'm still absolutely in love with you," he told her.
"I like hearing you say that," she breathed, a smile pulling at the corners of her lips.
"You'll be hearing it a lot because I'm not going anywhere this time. And I'm not going to stay away this time and let you walk out of my life all over again. I'm going to do everything that I possibly can to win you back, Lon. I can promise you that."
"I believe you, but we'll see what happens. You wouldn't appreciate me nearly as much, if I didn't make it difficult for you."
"True," he agreed.
"So, what are you doing today?" she asked curiously.
"Probably following you around like a lost child," he replied with a laugh. "Actually, I have an interview at one o'clock," he replied, before glancing over at the clock. "And it's already 9:45." Wade sat up. "I really need to get going."
A pout took over London's features. "That sucks."
"I can always pay you a visit later, if you're not busy," he suggested.
She shrugged. "Maybe, if I'm not busy," she teasingly replied.
He smirked and got out of the bed. Wade pulled his boxers back on and walked over to the refrigerator in the room, and pulled out a bottle of water. He brought it over to London. "Drink this, love. You're gonna need it."
She sat up in the bed and took it. Opening the bottle, she began drinking the water, while Wade redressed in his clothes from the previous evening. London finished the bottle of water and placed the empty bottle on the night table. He got her another, while she pulled up the sheet over her chest.
"Here's another, sweetheart," he said, handing her another water bottle. "I'll see you later, darling."
She smiled at his, as she took the bottle out of his hand. "Thank you."
"Of course." Wade leaned down and pressed a kiss to her lips, before walking out of her room, heading back to his own.
Later that evening, London was hanging out in the hotel bar with a bunch of people, after having gone out to dinner with Nattie, TJ, John, Nikki, Daniel, Brie, and Randy. Nattie already knew what had transpired in London's hotel room the previous evening, after she had left the club.
London was sitting at the bar, a Bud Light in her hand, chatting with a newer WWE addition, seeing as she had been gone for over a year when he had joined the Superstar roster, Dean Ambrose. There wasn't any flirtation between the two. It was just entirely casual and friendly.
"I dunno. I think you should come back. Someone needs to make sure that these Divas remember why they're here," he told her, before taking a drink from his beer.
She chuckled. "But Nattie is a great wrestler. The Bellas have seriously improved their game in the ring. AJ is awesome. Paige is badass."
"Yeah, but most of them get catty and annoying, especially with this Total Divas bullshit. You're more of a no nonsense Diva. You just kicked a lot of ass. Hell, you used to beat the shit out of some of the guys without blinking an eye."
"That's true, but…I don't know, Dean. It's an easier life not being on the road," London pointed out.
"Yeah, but it is more fun than being in the ring and beating the shit out of anyone who pisses you off?" he questioned her.
"Well, obviously not," she honestly answered.
"So, just suck it up. Come on, you can even have a match against me, if you'd like," he offered.
"You're not bad. I don't want to kick your ass," she replied. "I like you."
"Okay…" He thought for a moment. "Ah! I can offer you my services as a mixed tag partner."
She laughed. "You're pretty persistent, huh?"
"Very."
Wade walked into the bar and immediately noticed Dean Ambrose and London talking, while they sat at the bar. He raised an eyebrow and immediately headed over to the pair. "I hope I'm not interrupting anything," he spoke, causing both sets of eyes to look up at him.
"I'm not trying to steal her from you, Barrett. I'm just trying to convince her to come back on the road with us," he replied, defending himself. "I guess that's my cue to leave. London, it has been a pleasure. My offer stands. I'll be seeing you." With that, Dean got up and walked off.
Wade took Dean's seat. "It wasn't necessary for you to chase him away. We were just talking. Besides, even if I was trying to screw hi, I'm single and can do whatever it is that I want to."
"Is that right? You would sleep with that lunatic?" he questioned her.
London rolled her eyes at him. "You're being possessive of me, and I'm not even yours, Mr. Barrett."
A smirk crossed the Englishman's lips. "I don't think you truly believe that."
"I'm quite positive that I'm single," she insisted defiantly.
"Don't be so difficult, Lon. You know you want to be with me."
"Don't flatter yourself. If I wanted to be with you, I'd be all yours…but I'm not."
"You're trying to push my buttons."
"Incorrect. I am pushing your buttons."
"True," Wade agreed.
"Fine. I wasn't considering sleeping with Dean. You know I care about you and only you. But you don't deserve to work for it."
"I don't disagree. It's more fun this way. When I finally have you all to myself, it'll be so much sweeter, having put all of the work in."
London glanced at the clock. "It's a little after eleven right now. Maybe we can partake in round two tonight," she suggested with a smirk.
"Oh really? You'd be interested in having another night with me inside of you?" he smugly questioned.
"To me fair, it's my lady bits that want you inside of me. But if you're gonna be an arrogant prick, I'm sure I can find someone else. Ambrose couldn't have made it very far," she teased him, returning the look to her former and current lover.
"Oh that's okay. I would prefer to be the one giving you the real birthday gift," he argued.
"Well, I guess we'll just have to see what happens."
Randy approached the pair. "Wade Barrett, what a surprise seeing you here."
"Randy," the Englishman politely greeted.
"So, you two are speaking again and hanging out. Do I need to be concerned?" he questioned, sounding more like a father than a friend.
"Randy, I love you and all, but I'm thirty now. So, I'm pretty sure that I don't need your permission to see anyone," she shot back.
"Hey, I know that. I just don't want anything happening to you."
"Trust me, the only one who needs to be concerned is Wade. I'm the one in control here," she told her best friend.
"That's actually true, Orton," Wade backed her up.
"You hurt her once, Barrett, and I'm not going to let you do it again."
"I'm not going to hurt her ever again."
"Like I believe you," Randy muttered.
"I'm glad that you think I'm incapable of handling my own business," she shot at Randy.
He rolled his eyes. "No need to be melodramatic or anything, Lon. I just want to make sure that Barrett knows he can try to pull whatever bullshit he wants, but at the end of the day, he's going to have to answer to me."
London sighed. "I love you, Randy, but I think you need to sit back down. Have a great night. I'll see you tomorrow," she brushed him off.
"Yeah yeah," he replied and placed an innocent kiss on the side of her head. "Be careful, Lon." With that, he gave Wade a threatening look, before finally walking away.
"He's very protective of me," London said. "AKA he wants to kick your ass."
"Plenty of people want to," he replied, resting his arm on the bar, his eyes glued to the woman who had stolen his heart.
"So, is this your way of staking a claim on me?"
A smirk played on his lips. "Perhaps I'm just doing my best to make it known that I'm going to do everything I possibly can to get you back."
London thought for a moment. "Do you want to come up to my room?" she questioned, a devilish grin taking over her lips.
"Right now?" he asked.
London nodded. "I'm drunk. I need help getting to my room."
"You're not drunk at all," he replied.
She raised an eyebrow. "So, you don't want to come with me?"
"Let's go, love," he replied. The pair stood up and headed out of the bar, to the elevators. Everyone's eyes followed the pair.
The second the elevator doors shut with the pair alone inside, Wade backed her up against the wall and crashed his lips onto hers. His hands made their way onto her hips, while her hands rested against his chest. As soon as he heard the elevator doors open, Wade lifted her up in his arms. London wrapped her legs around his waist. He headed towards her room. She pulled her keycard out of the pocket of her jeans and handed it to Wade. He pressed her back against the door, as he blindly managed to unlock and open the door. The two made their way into the room, and Wade kicked it shut behind them.
Wade put her down, so she was standing on her own, in front of him. London pulled her top up and over her head. The two quickly undressed themselves, desperate to get back into the bed they had occupied the previous evening. As soon as they had accomplished their goal and were both completely undressed, Wade pulled her back into his arms and lifted her up again. London wrapped her arms around his neck, as she pressed her forehead to his.
"I love you, Lon," he breathed.
"I love you, too," she reciprocated. "But I'm still gonna make you work for it."
"Good. I love a challenge," he replied, before closing the space in between their lips. He brought her over to the bed and laid her down, getting on top of her, not allowing their lips to part. London rested her feet flat on the bed, her knees bent. Wade quickly guided himself into her.
London let out a loud moan, as she felt him fill her. "Oh my God, you always feel so amazing," she groaned.
Wade smiled. "You feel incredible, love. I love being inside of you."
"I love having you in me," she replied. Wade began slowly thrusting inside of her. The pair got lost in a sea of moans and four-letter words, as they had their first round of sober sex in years. She was all too happy spending her birthday night having sex with the man who her heart belonged to.
London pushed Wade down on the bed and climbed on top of him, sliding him back inside of her. She began enthusiastically riding him, quickly finding her rhythm. Wade stared up at her, his hands resting on her hips, as his eyes took in the sight before him. London noticed the way he was looking at her. A confused expression took over her face. "Why are you looking at me like that?" she questioned, a smile pulling at her lips.
"How am I looking at you?"
"I dunno," she replied with a shrug. "Just…not like we're having sex."
"Maybe it's because you're the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in all the years I've been on this earth."
A genuine smile found its way onto her mouth. "Aw Wade."
He sat up, moving his hands from her hips onto her lower back. She wrapped her arms around his neck. She pressed her forehead against his, as she slowly began riding him again. The mood had become less feverish and more affectionate. He pressed his lips against hers. The pair engaged in their makeout session, as their bodies lovingly melded together perfectly. The emotional intensity between them increased their arousal. Wade's hands found their way onto her ass, as the entire situation they'd found themselves in brought the pair closer to their releases.
"You're getting me so close," London spoke against his lips.
"Good," he replied, pulling back from their kiss momentarily. "Same here." He brought their lips back together. Their actions slowed some more but continued to increase in intensity. "Fuck, I'm so close," he groaned.
"I'm gonna come," she breathed, as her release finally hit her. Her folds tightened around him. A loud moan left her lips, as her forehead fell into the crook of his neck. Feeling her orgasm caused his release to hit. The pair rode out their orgasms together. The pair fell back onto the bed, an entanglement of limbs. Thought they were sweaty and out of breath, neither cared. Wade wrapped his arms around her naked body and kissed the top of her head.
"I love you so much, sweetheart," he breathed affectionately.
"I love you, too, Wade."
