AN: Hello, my lovely pandas! Its been almost a month since I last updated and I'm terribly sorry. Btw, quick announcement, I am considering moving this story to my other fan fiction account. Let me know what you think! Also, the offer to create a cover for this story still stands.

myfandomshaveruinedme- thanks, hope you like this chapter! sorry it's a bit short, I wanted to update ASAP

Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who or any music/books/etch that are mentioned in this story, although you should check them out. I only own Isa.

Journeys and adventures have passed since the incident. The Doctor and Rose had fun times, and even met a new friend. His name was Captain Jack Harkness. While Jack was on board the TARDIS, he would help the pair retell Isa their tales of their adventure that day. But time passed and Jack left and the Doctor has regenerated. But with the new Doctor, comes a special surprise.

My eyes snapped open and I gasped for breath. I had an awful but wonderful dream. There were two, sometimes three, people. They were always going on trips. Sometimes the trips were dangerous, sometimes they were safe, but they were always fun.

I sat up slowly and took in my surroundings. I realized I was in the TARDIS med-bay. I ran a hand through my hair, only to find it now hung past my waist and was extremely tangled. I walked out of the med-bay and stumbled down to the console room. I tripped a few times on the way down.

How long was I asleep? I wondered. I entered the console room and saw two people, Rose and a man who had really messy hair. I figured that the Doctor had regenerated, seeing as I could sense his Time Lord presence. When did he regenerate? How long have I been asleep?

The Doctor must have sensed my presence because he turned and saw I was standing in the doorway, leaning on the frame. He rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't hallucinating, then he jumped up, ran across the room, and scooped me up in a big hug. I hugged him back.

"Doctor, how long have I been asleep?" I asked.

"About three months," he mumbled. My eyes widened in shock.

"It felt like a couple days. When did you regenerate?"

"Two weeks ago," Rose said. I let go of the Doctor and walked towards her.

"Hello," I said. She gave me a big hug.

"It's nice not seeing you asleep in the med-bay. The Doctor was worried," she said, whispering the last part in my ear.

She let go and I sat in the captain's seat. "I'm ready for an adventure. I think I need some fresh air."

Right when I said that, Rose's phone began to ring. She picked it up and talked for a minute, then turned back to the Doctor and I.

"Mickey needs us. Something about aliens and a school," Rose said. I grinned and the Doctor set the coordinates on the TARDIS console. Soon, we were on Earth and in front of the school. The Doctor managed to get us jobs there. He was the Physics teacher, I was the History teacher, and Rose was a lunch lady.

"Alright, class, my name is Miss Jacks, time to start the lecture. So, how many of you know about Ancient Greece?" I asked. I heard groans, excited whispers, and saw blank faces. About a quarter of the class raised their hands.

"Fantastic. Alright, so does anyone have any questions before we start the lesson?" I asked. A couple students raised their hands. I chose the one closest to me.

"Why do you have blue hair?" she asked.

"It's natural," I replied. A couple gasps filled the room. I chose another hand.

"Are you American?" he asked.

"Yes, I am." I chose one more hand.

"How old are you?" he asked.

I smiled. "Old enough. A lady should never reveal her age. But if you're really wondering, I'm 897. Any more questions?" The kids just stared at me like I was crazy. "Okay, let's start! Can anybody name a few city-states?'

"Athens!" a girl said.

"Sparta!" a boy called out.

"Good, now, here's a bit of mythology. Who was the patron god of Athens? Why?"

A girl with long, wavy brown hair raised her hand and I called on her. "Athena was the patron goddess of Athens. There was a rivalry between Athena and Poseidon. Poseidon created a saltwater spring and Athena created the olive tree. Because the people could not drink saltwater, they chose Athena."

"Very good. What's your name?" I asked.

"Marina." I smiled.

"Pretty name. Means "of the sea", correct?" She nodded.

"So, weird, totally unrelated fact time. Did you know that the Ancient Egyptians shaved off their eyebrows to mourn the death of their cats?" I said. Most kids looked at me weirdly, but I smiled and continued.

"You know what? This Greek stuff is a bit boring. How about I entertain you with some weird facts?" The kids nodded eagerly.

"Okay, see if any of you knows the answer to this. When the Austrian Empire attacked itself in 1788, how many men did they lose?" Many of the kids giggled. The only one to raise their hand was Marina.

"About 10,000." My eyes widened slightly.

"What happened when Lichtenstein sent 80 men to Italy to fight?"

"They came back with 81 men." The classroom erupted with laughter.

"Alright, missy. You think you're so smart? Why did one of the Prussian emperors kidnap tall people?"

"He wanted a tall army."

I asked her a couple more questions, dealing with other planets and even the Time War, and she got every single one correct. Jeez, this kid is spoiling all my fun. I'll talk to the Doctor and Rose during lunch, I thought.

Luckily, the rest of that day had no more weirdly smart kids. For the next two days, they all laughed at my odd facts and a few told me I was their new favorite teacher. I smile at that, although I'm pretty sure it had something to do with the fact that I didn't give them any work.

When it was finally lunch time, I spotted the Doctor and plopped down into a seat next to him.

"So, how was your teaching experience?" I asked him, pulling an apple from my bag the TARDIS gave me. It's small and black, with buckles on the outside. It's also bigger on the inside.

"Meh," he said, trying a french fry.

Rose came towards the table with a frown. "Two days," she grumbled.

"Sorry, could you just?" the Doctor said, pointing to a random spot on the table, making Rose clean it. "There's a bit of gravy. No, no, just there."

"Two days we've been here," Rose said.

I smiled. "And in those two days, I've become a favorite teacher!"

"That's awesome!" Rose said. "What did you do?"

"I didn't give them any work and just spent the whole time telling them some random history facts," I said. She laughed.

"Blame your boyfriend. He's the one who called us here. But he was right. Boy in class this morning, got knowledge way beyond planet Earth," the Doctor said, inspecting a fry.

"Same with this girl yesterday. I kept asking her questions about other planets and the Time War." I noticed the Doctor flinch at that. "And she answered every single one correctly."

"You eating those chips?" Rose asked him. He shook his head and she took the basket.

"They're a bit different," he said.

"I think they're gorgeous," Rose said, eating a few. "Wish I had school dinners like this."

"I never ate anything from the school cafeteria. It all looked like grey, gloopy mush." I grimaced at the mental image of the stuff from my high school.

"It's very well behaved, this placed," the Doctor said.

"I noticed the same thing," I said. Rose hummed in agreement.

"I thought there'd be happy slapping hoodies. Happy slapping hoodies with ASBOs. Happy slapping hoodies with ASBOs and ringtones," he said. I grinned and shook my head.

"What? Don't tell me I don't fit in," he said. I playfully poked his side. He tickled me, which sent me into peals of laughter and I almost fell out of my chair.

The head lunch lady came over to us and basically yelled at me and the Doctor for not liking the fries and at Rose to get back in the kitchen.

The Doctor and I had to go to a staff meeting because some reporter was coming to interview the Headmaster and he wanted us to give her positive things about him. We were talking to the Math teacher about some of the strange kids at the school.

"Yesterday, I had a twelve year old girl give me the height of the Walls of Troy in cubits," he told us.

"And, it's been like this ever since the new headmaster arrived?" I asked him.

"Finch arrived three months ago. The next day, half the staff got the flu. Filch replaced them with that lot," He pointed to a group of teachers to the left of us, "Except for the teachers you two replaced, and that was just plain weird, them winning the lottery like that."

"How's that weird?" the Doctor asked, frowning.

"They never played. Said the ticket was posted through her door at midnight," he told us.

"Hm, the world is very strange," I replied.

We all turned our attention to the Headmaster as he walked into the room with a woman, who was maybe in her late forties.

"Excuse me, colleges. A moment of your time. May I introduce Miss Sarah Jane Smith." I noticed the Doctor's eyes light up with recognition at her name." Miss Smith is a journalist who's writing a profile about me for the Sunday Times. I thought it might be useful for her to get a view from the trenches, so to speak. Don't spare my blushes," Filch said, then turned around and left the room.

"Doctor, do you know her?" I whispered.

"Past companion," he replied.

"Don't act too weird, you've regenerated since the last time she saw you, so she won't recognize you." I warned. He just nodded and watched as she came up to us.

"Hello," she said with a smile.

"Oh, I should think so," the Doctor said. I stepped on his foot. It was like he didn't listen to a word I said. He nudged my side and glared at me.

"And, you are?" she asked, holding out a hands.

"Hm? Er, Smith. John Smith," he said shaking her hand. "This is my friend, Ree Jacks." I shook her hand as well.

"John Smith," she said. "I used to have a friend who sometimes went by that name."

"Well, it's a very common name," he said.

"He was a very uncommon man," she remarked. "Nice to meet you."

"Nice to meet you too. Yes, very nice. More than nice. Brilliant." I stepped on his foot again.

I could feel the awkwardness in the air, but thankfully Sarah Jane broke it.

"Er, so, er, have you worked here long?" she asked.

I shook my head. "No, this is only our second day."

"Oh, you're both new then. So, what do you think of the school? I mean, this new curriculum? So many children getting ill. Doesn't that strike you as odd?"

I smirked. "You don't sound like someone just doing a profile."

"Well, no harm in a little investigation."

"No. Good for you," the Doctor said, giving her a strange sort of smile. She walked to another teacher.

Theta, stop being creepy! I scolded.

Ashes, I'm not being creepy! He complained.

I rolled my eyes. Yes, you are. Stop acting like a ten year old.

We all gathered in a corridor after school had ended to discuss what we were going to do.

"Oh, it's weird, seeing the school at night. It just feels wrong," Rose said.

"I remember the night of my prom, I had to go to the bathroom but the ones closest to the gym were full so I had to walk across the school to find another," I said.

Rose smiled. "When I was a kid, I used to think all the teachers slept in the school." I giggled.

"All right, team. Oh, I hate people who say team. Er, gang. Um, comrades," the Doctor said. "Anyway, Rose, go to the kitchen and get a sample of that oil. Mickey, the new staff are all maths teachers. Go and check out the Maths department. Isa and I are going to look in Finch's office. Be back here in ten minutes." The Doctor turned and left.

"See ya in ten!" I said, then followed the Doctor.

"So, Theta, why am I coming with you?" I asked.

"I don't want you to get hurt again," he said.

I sighed. "Doctor, that wasn't your fault. It was mine. I was the one who slowed down the Dalek and got shot."

"But it was my fault for letting you go after them," he said.

I stopped and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Theta, stop blaming yourself. It's going to wear you down even more than it does now. You know I would've gone down anyway. I'm stubborn and you know it."

He looked me in the eyes and placed a hand on my face. "Ashes, I-"

"No," I cut him off. "We'll talk later. Right now we need to get to Finch's office."

He nodded and we walked in silence. When we reached the office, we heard someone in it. The Doctor pulled out his sonic screwdriver and unlocked the door. We walked in and saw a familiar face.
