This is for Moongarm - who got some really good news today!
And he reminded me that, sometimes, we all need a little more fluff in our lives - so here's some more to add to the pile!
"I don't see why you're not just living with me…"
She was legitimately pouting now - dragging her feet while being led by the hand through the (admittedly cute) lavender front door of the small two story home.
"Yang...we went over this - I just think we should have our own places for a little while..."
"But you know I want you to live with me, right?"
Her raven haired girlfriend turned and gave her one of those smiles that answered the question before words could.
"Yes, I know...I'm pretty sure the rest of Beacon knows, too."
A laugh escaped her at the response, continuously caught off guard when her normally reserved partner would throw out a comment like that.
"Well, good - that means I yelled it loudly enough at graduation!" she replied, remembering fondly how she'd professed her undying love for the Faunus girl in front of their entire graduating class - grabbing the microphone from Glynda's hand just as the woman had been about to read the closing address.
Of course, Blake had been horribly embarrassed, but she knew deep down the girl had loved it. Blake always loved her grandiose displays of affection - maybe because it solidified those feelings they usually murmured quietly to each other. Or maybe because she was willing to make a total fool out of herself to make sure the world knew how she felt.
Either way, she'd been...amply rewarded...for that little stunt - certainly didn't discourage her from similar acts in the future.
Humming in satisfaction at her own version of the memory, Blake squeezed her hand lovingly as they came to a stop inside the front door - standing in a narrow entryway with two open doorways on either side and a white staircase directly ahead of them.
"So, this is the foyer, and the kitchen is through here…" Blake murmured while directing them to the room on the left.
The space was a little small, but that was to be expected for a newly graduated huntress. They could be living in much better situations, but they had repeatedly declined Weiss' offers to buy them mansions. Well, all of them except Ruby, who'd just decided to shack up with her short-tempered (and also, just plain short) girlfriend instead.
"Pretty standard," she replied, glancing around at the various kitchen equipment and the wooden cabinets that had been recently painted with a fresh coat of white.
"And there's space for a little kitchen table right here."
There was a little nook in the corner, right by a large window, that would be the perfect spot to place a small dining table.
With nothing more on this side, Blake guided them across the entryway and through the doorway on the right - which turned out to be a small living area.
"This would be the living room - I figure we can put a sofa right here -"
The Faunus girl motioned with her free hand where the piece of furniture would sit along one wall.
"And a coffee table in front of it. Bookcases on this wall. A reading chair in this corner right by the window."
Blake had moved away from her, dropping her hand in favor of standing exactly where everything would go.
"Wow, Blake, I had no idea you had such an eye for interior design!" she remarked, thoroughly impressed by the thought the girl had already put into the living arrangements. When Ruby had helped her decorate her own place...well, they'd just shoved things wherever they would fit.
"You think...it'll look nice?"
She resisted the urge to clutch her chest in pain when Blake turned those bashful, doe-like eyes upon her, eyelashes fluttering in the most adorable way. It was just one of the many expressions that made her fall in love with the brunette all over again…
"I think it'll be perfect," she answered, walking over and wrapping both hands behind Blake's back before sneaking a quick kiss. "It'll look like an actual grown-up's place!"
The girl let out a little laugh, likely imagining Yang's own mess of a living situation.
"Eventually, I imagine we'll be spending all our time either at your place or mine...then it will just make sense to live together."
"I see…" she replied slowly, releasing Blake when she felt it was appropriate to begin teasing the girl again. "So...this is actually just another option - I should be considering this place as my potential new home!"
Either the sun had just backtracked in the sky, or the room grew brighter when Blake smiled at her.
"You should be."
Nodding her head, she placed one hand thoughtfully to her chin as she pretended to inspect everything much more intently.
Truthfully, she didn't really care where they lived. She liked to think of herself as a pretty easy going person, not too difficult to be around. And with Blake, she was definitely the easy part…
But moving wasn't so bad, especially when she could carry all the furniture by herself. And with Ruby's speed, the lighter boxes could make it here in no time.
"Alright!" she finally exclaimed, turning back to Blake with a wide smile. "I'm completely on board with that - although, it'll be really hard for this place to beat mine. I can literally roll out of bed and make it to the gym in thirty seconds."
Blake rolled her eyes, having personally witnessed the nearly sleepwalking version of herself walking outside in the wee hours of the morning. She wasn't exactly a morning person, but it was the price that needed to be paid to stay in the shape she was in.
"I'm sure all the men there are thrilled to see a half-asleep blonde girl pushing around more weights than them," Blake teased.
"They actually seem to like it! They watch me reallyyyy closely."
She grinned as Blake gritted her teeth and shook her head, a momentary flash of jealousy crossing the girl's features before falling easily away.
Another thing that made her fall in love over and over again? The Faunus girl's ability to let things like that roll right off her shoulders. It proved time and time again just how much trust the girl had in Yang - and in Yang's love for her.
Although...she'd be willing to bet she might be getting a little more company for her morning workout sessions. Not that she wouldn't immensely enjoy the company.
Maybe Blake would hold her feet for sit-ups again...that had been fun. She'd been rewarded with a quick peck on the lips for every rep completed...so she'd done about 500 in a half hour, much to the Faunus girl's infinite amusement. Moving the next day hadn't been entirely possible, but it'd been totally worth it.
"I think you'll find this place also has its perks," Blake said evasively, retaking her hand and pulling them from the living room back to the entryway.
"Like all the white! I do like the white staircase," she admitted, pointing to the stairs in front of them. "But there's no way white stairs beats having a gym across the street."
"That's because you haven't seen the best room yet."
With a grin, Blake started up the stairs, dragging Yang behind her.
"Well, I doubt there will be a better view than this."
She snickered when the girl turned and playfully glared at her. But she couldn't help it! How was she supposed to not comment on Blake's butt on the way upstairs?
Adding insult to injury - the girl definitely put a little more sway in her hips for the remainder of their ascent to the second level. God...sometimes Blake just knew exactly how to turn her brain to complete mush.
Reaching the carpeted flooring upstairs, Blake led her down the short hallway to the left of the staircase towards a solitary white door. When they reached it, the girl turned the handle and pushed the door open. Quickly flipping on the light, she gestured Yang to walk in ahead of her.
"Well, here it is," Blake said, slapping her butt playfully when she passed by.
After letting out a little yelp of surprise, earning herself a wink from the raven haired temptress, she turned her attention back in front of her.
"Uh, Blake...sweetie...this is just a regular room."
She'd been expecting something super cool - like skylights, or an aviary, or one of those windows that poked out of the house and had room for someone to sit.
But this...this was just another plain, empty, boring room.
It was too small for a bedroom and had no window at all. Maybe it was built to be a child's playroom? There was a nice, chandelier-style light fixture in the ceiling, white carpet on the floor to match the plain, white walls - but otherwise the room was completely bare.
Impressive level - zero.
When Blake giggled at her confusion, she knew she'd missed something important.
"But can't you see the potential?" the girl asked from beside her, waving one hand over the room as if trying to paint a picture Yang could see.
But as much as she stared in front of her, she continued to see only three solid, white walls.
What could this room possibly be used for?
Her brain struggled with the question - her lack of decorating capabilities becoming more pronounced by the second.
"Uh...maybe...oh! An arcade?"
Now that was an exciting idea. They could get all those super old arcade machines from decades ago and move them in here. Add some retro lighting, paint the walls, take out the carpet…
"No, Yang. Not an arcade - stop planning it."
Laughing, she turned back to her girlfriend - who somehow always knew what she was thinking.
"Ok, give me a hint?" she finally asked, truly at a loss for what vision Blake could have for this space.
With a loving smile, the Faunus gently took her by the shoulders and turned her back towards the three bare walls. She looked straight ahead in anticipation for Blake to describe to her what she had planned.
A soft click sounded from behind her and the room suddenly plunged into darkness.
"Wo-ahhh...it is dark!"
Raising one hand in front of her face, she saw nothing. She touched her palm to the tip of her nose - checking to make sure her hand was still even there.
It was pitch black with only a tiny, razor thin line of light sneaking under the door from the hallway - which did very little to illuminate any further than an inch inside the door.
"Well, this has more promise. What did you want to…"
Her voice trailed off when she felt a familiar presence ghost behind her - soft, warm breaths dusting against the side of her neck.
Swallowing thickly, she felt her entire body tingle in anticipation.
"Do you see it now…?"
The sultry whisper in her ear made her eyes flutter shut as she drew a deep breath, a ravenous desire building in her chest at the sound. Heat began pouring through her veins like lava, increasing the temperature of her skin exponentially.
There were very few emotions that could awaken her semblance so easily - one being anger, another being...Blake.
"I really hope you're saying what I think you're saying."
"What do you think I'm saying?"
The voice was in front of her now - only a few feet away.
Taking a quick step forward, she swiped a hand in front of her - receiving nothing but a fistful of empty air and a giggle for her effort.
"You're cute - stumbling around in the dark like that."
She spun to her left, useless eyes searching futilely for her girlfriend.
"You're lucky I can't see anything, or else I'd -"
The words caught in her throat when a slim hand appeared underneath her chin, forcing her gaze upward while hot kisses were furiously placed upon her exposed neck.
"Or else you'd what?" came the warm whisper, followed by several playful nips on her right ear.
Honestly, she already couldn't remember what her idle threat was going to be.
When she attempted to grab the girl again, Blake was already long gone. A smile found its way onto her lips when she heard the girl giggle nearby - the Faunus clearly enjoying this little game.
If she could see Blake, she could potentially grab ahold of the girl. And once she got a handhold, there was no way Blake could escape her. But this...this was trying to fight a fully trained huntress blindfolded - completely impossible.
She was utterly and completely at the girl's mercy...a feeling that would have been extremely alarming if it had been with anyone but her feline partner.
"You're such a tease," she called out to the blackness, turning her head from side to side as if she might be able to catch a glimpse of movement.
"Tease? Have you seen yourself today?"
Her cheeks turned to fire when a warm finger dragged from her chin down the front of her low-cut shirt.
She only wore such revealing clothing for her girlfriend's benefit, well, and for her own...since there were few things sexier than catching those amber eyes fixated upon her so intently when Blake thought she wouldn't notice.
The trespassing digit immediately disappeared when she made an attempt to snatch it, causing her to let out a little growl.
Frustration was beginning to grow within her as she became more and more desperate for the feeling of her girlfriend's lips on hers.
But she was being played with like a mouse...a poor, blind mouse that had absolutely no chance of escaping the predator in the room with her. Of course, she didn't want to escape. She wanted Blake to -
Suddenly, an idea popped into her mind.
She could see the little strip of light below the door...and there was a light switch on the wall - the same switch Blake had used when they walked into the room. If she could make it to the switch before Blake caught her, she could turn on the lights and stand a decent chance of finally trapping the girl.
Shuffling one foot backwards a fraction of an inch, she paused - holding her breath while waiting to see if Blake had noticed. When nothing happened, she slid her other foot backwards to match.
With a surprised yelp, she was abruptly falling to the floor - her balance being stolen from her by a swift sweep of a strong leg against the back of her ankles.
She would have smashed into the floor had a strong arm not wrapped behind her neck and slowed her descent - at the same time a pair of warm lips came crashing into hers.
As her back and shoulders were gently lowered to the ground, she took the opportunity to wrap her arms around Blake's waist and clamp them together like iron grips. After a few furious kisses, Blake pulled away - drawing another low growl of frustration from her throat.
If she hadn't been able to feel her arms clinging to Blake's slender waist, with the girl's legs straddling hers, she could have sworn the Faunus had disappeared again. But she was still there - both of them panting lightly from their kisses.
"So...what do you think?"
Sliding her hands up Blake's back and wrapping her fingers in soft locks of hair, she smiled - knowing that the girl could still see her in the darkness. Feeling that the teasing was now over, she said what would very likely be the last coherent sentences uttered over the next few hours.
"When can I move in?"
