OMG guys, I just noticed this is the last chapter for this part in the story... Next is Unforgettable!

Chap 13- First Battle part 2 and Epligoue

I watched silently at Alpha's side as Aragorn carried a table in with Legolas carried a table into the hall,"You said this fortress would never fall while your men defend it! They still defend it! They have died defending it!"

I thought of Luna in the caves with Uruk-Hai banging on the door," Is there no other way for the women and children to get out of the caves?" Luna must be terrified!

I was met with no answer...

Alpha let out an angry snarl,"She asked and now I shall- and I had better receive an answer- is there no other way?" I think the only reason he did that is because he didn't want the 'Child of Magic' to seem weak in the eyes of men.

"There is one passage," Gamling said,"It leads into the mountains. But they will not get far. The Uruk-hai are too many."

"Send word for the women and children to make for the mountain pass," Aragorn ordered," And barricade the entrance."

"So much death," Théoden said sadly," What can men do against such reckless hate?

Aragorn paused before he said,"Ride out with me. Ride out and meet them."

I wanted to cheer at the new light of determination in Theoden's eyes,"For death and glory."

"For Rohan," Aragorn corrected," For your people."

"The sun is rising," Gimli said happily.

I looked up at a window to see faint light streaming through it. We made it through the night. Maybe we'll make it through the morning?

"Look to my coming at first light on the fifth day," I murmured, recalling Gandalf's words,"At dawn, look to the east."

"Yes. Yes," Théoden cried,"The horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep one last time!"

"Yes," Gimli cheered in his excitement as he ran up the stairs towards the horn of Helm Hammerhand.

"Let this be the hour when we draw swords," Alpha said,"Together. Fell deeds awake. Now for wrath! Now for ruin! And a red dawn!"

EverLost I called, I need you here. We must ride out.

EverLost was with me in no time and I mounted her with ease. She reared in excitement I shall ride to hell gates and back with you my Lady! I smiled as the sound of the horn filled the air as Gimli blew it.

I laughed to hide my nervousness and fear. I drew Gajrzla

"FORTH EORLINGAS," Théoden cried as he lead the charge. I gave a yell a I charged forward with EverLost. I had Garjlza unsheathed and started to cut down any and all Uruk-Hai that came near EverLost and I. EverLost was wonderful, she rode forward, straight into battle never stopping or rearing in fear. She stormed out of the fate and down the causeway right into the column of Uruk-hai. I glanced to the side to see a line of riders against the sun. My mouth dropped open,"Gandalf..."

A another rider joined him. Éomer! I saw the thousands of men rushing into battle when he raised his hand,"Rohirrim! To the king!"

I smiled,"Brisingr," Garjlza burst into purple flames. EverLost reared as Uruk-Hai stomped up to us. I let out a yell and tossed Garjlza at him. He immediately burst into flames. As other Uruk-Hai ran towards me, they met the same fate.

I turned to see the sun was blinding the Uruk-Hai so the Rohirrim could charge through. But they were not alone. With a terrifying roar, Jura dived headlong into battle. Ryan rushed over to her and climbed up onto he back.

I smiled. We could win this.

I screamed when a Uruk-Hai got a lucky shot an knocked me off of EverLost. Jura and Ryan came to my rescue before it could hurt me. Jura bit his head off and Ryan helped me onto Jura's back,"Thanks," I called to them. I looked down at EverLost, EverLost go to Helm's deep! Hide there!

EverLost whinnied in acknowledgement and made a bee-line for the gate. I pulled out my bow and arrows and started shooting. I spotted Pine and Boulder caught between Uruk-Hai and a hard place. I changed forms, Jura! Can you get me down there?

Of course she spoke into my mind and flew towards them. I leapt off and knocked down about three with me.

Boulder and I stood tail to tail with Pine, Alpha rushed over to become our forth. The Uruk-Hai encircled us. We snared and snapped at them, baiting them. They went for it and we easily snapped their necks.

Soon, it was over. Every single Uruk-Hai was dead. But we still had to check. I was walking through the corpses, when I heard Legolas and Gimli fighting over their final counts. I walked up,"Boys, Boys. You each had 43? I hate to break it to you- but my final count was 50."

"What," Gimli's eyes tripled in size,"How could you have kept count?"

"Jura helped," I purred,"She was able to keep track by flying over head and searching for my arua on each kill."

Legolas smiled and shook my hand,"Congraduations Dusky. You win our little game."

I blushed and then EverLost whinnied as she trotted up to me, my lady. I am glad to see you survived.

I smiled and patted her nose,"Thanks EverLost. Good to see you're okay too."

Gimli cleared his throat,"I don't know about you three but I'm rather peckish myself," so he went to go find food.

I smiled and was about to start my apology to Legolas - when Alpha's voice rose over the din,"Ancient ones, elves, and men alike! Food is being served in the keep. Take what little you can carry, for we move out for Isengard near dusk!"

Alpha jumped down to the ground below next to Legolas and I,"Dusky, I need you to escort the woman and children back to Erodas."

"But-"

Alpha wave his hand,"No Dusky. You need to go. Take Luna, Dove and Shadow with you. There may be Orcs and Uruk-Hai in the area."

Legolas nodded,"I agree with Alpha. The woman and children need to be kept safe and a small group of Ancient Ones should be enough to do so."

I glared at both of them before I mounted EverLost,"Fine," I muttered,"I'm escort them," I tapped EverLost's side with my heel and went to go find the three she-wolves.

When I heard that Haldir had been seriously injured. I volunteered to heal him. So many elves had already died. I watched as Ancient Ones carried him on a stretcher. His skull fractured, and it was going to be a daunting task. I took as much energy from the dead as I could.

I carefully started to heal Haldir, picturing bone fragments coming together and skin renewing itself. Finally, after about five hours I had finished. Haldir groggily looked at me,"I thank you, Lady Dusky."

"Think none of it. Just return to your home and heal."

I prepared to leave with the small group, women, children and elderly.

" Sauron's wrath will be terrible, " Gandalf said as I watched them all ride over a hill. I could barely hear them with my magic. I suddenly shivered at the thought of them going to Isengard," his retribution swift. The battle for Helm's Deep is over. The battle for Middle-earth is about to begin. All our hopes now lie with two little hobbits. Somewhere in the wilderness."

I patted EverLost's shoulder to calm myself,"It'll all be fine."

It will... Won't it?
