A/N: Well, sorry I was gone so long, I was on vacation, and there was no internet where I was. But here you go!

I do not own Wolfs Rain!

July eyed Renaldo cautiously, he had not seen his boss this riled up in a long time. He thought it was probably because of Subject Six. But he was unsure about that. He knew that his employer loved carnage, but, his highest bounty was the head of a fifteen year old wolf girl. The brown haired man eyed his feet, he clearly was confused. What was so interesting about a teenage wolf child? That's what she was, a child, a small, delicate girl who was in a difficult situation. What made it worse, was what Renaldo had done to her before throwing her into that box with her wolf friend. Though he wasn't sure whether 'friend' was the right term, they seemed awfully affectionate towards each other, even when she was fitting the serum Renaldo had injected into her.

"July! Do you see this? This is great!" His employer laughed sadistically, "This idiot honestly thinks he can talk this bitch out of it! What a fucking moron!"

July sighed and refused to look at the monitor his boss was humoring. The fact was, July hated his job. He didn't do this by choice, he didn't have one to begin with. He owed his life to this insane, lone wolf. Fact of the matter is, he hated Renaldo. But he was indebted to him, and there was no way in hell he was going down to his grave with a debt like this on his conscience. July pushed some hair away from his face, and let out a deep breath he hadn't realized he was holding. A door opened behind him, he turned slightly and instantly froze. A petite woman stood there with emerald eyes and scarlet hair. "M-Mrs. Rie!" He stuttered, "I-I hadn't heard you were here. I would have-"

"I just arrived." She interrupted coldly, she brushed passed July and stood next to Renaldo, "So you caught her?"

"Of course I did! Did you expect anything less of me? You certainly are a cold one Rie." The golden-haired man crossed his arms and smirked at the struggling children on the monitor, "This is quite entertaining, don't you think?"

"It's sickening. Who is that boy rolling around with Tomoe?" Rie gave the orange-eyed man a sideways glance.

"Tsuneo Hirogawa. But I'm pretty sure she calls him Tsume." July butted in, "He's a hard headed one. He won't give up on her easily."

"Is that so." Rie gazed back to the screen, "Her hair has grown since last time I saw her."

"Really? I didn't notice anything other than her change in attitude." Renaldo spat, "She's got a hell of a temper. Then again I suppose she gets that from you."

"You gave her that knew serum didn't you?" She asked.

"Yeah, she fought like hell trying to force it down but, it looks like its working now." The bounty hunter chuckled as he watched Subject Six pull a knife out of her back pocket.

"Stopping her is based off of her fear is it not?" Rie turned slightly to see the nod Renaldo gave her, "Perfect."

Tsume grabbed her hand before the knife had time to slice into him. He grabbed it and threw it, he then proceeded to pull her down and pin her arms behind her back. "I'm really sorry, but there's obviously something wrong." Toboe struggled against Tsume's hold, but the golden eyed wolf refused to let go.

"Tomoe." A voice echoed through the room, a woman's voice to be exact. Tsume furrowed his brows as Toboe stopped moving. Her eyes widened in fear. This wasn't the kind of fear he'd seen with Renaldo. She was afraid for everyone, about what he would do to them, not about herself. This was a completely different fear, this was something, or someone she was completely terrified of. "Tomoe, I'm so happy you're back sweet heart. Your father will be ecstatic to hear the news as well."

"W-what do you want?" She whispered, her eyes looking around frantically.

"What do you mean? You're my daughter. I simply wished for you to be home." Tsume furrowed his brows even more. Toboe was terrified of her mother? What on earth could have happened to make her hate her own parents? The elevator then started to come down, and Toboe tensed when a very small woman with a slender figure, intimidating green eyes and scarlet hair stared us down. She wore a simple business suit that was completely navy blue save for the white button up shirt. She was very pretty, in a scary kind of way. "You've grown up a bit since last time I saw you." She smiled, but it wasn't heart warming.

"Let us go. I did what you wanted a long time ago! You have no reason to keep us here!" Toboe started struggling again.

"Ah, that's where you're wrong. Your little friend has a bounty on his head. Renaldo snagged you for his personal uses." The woman smirked and took a step towards them and Toboe pushed Tsume off and skittered backwards. Tsume gave her an apologetic look, and moved in front of her, blocking Rie's path.

"You're lying mother! You're always lying!" Toboe growled and shifted into her wolf form, she felt much safer and guarded in that form.

"You've gained quiet the mouth haven't you. I don't remember you being this rebellious." Rie chuckled darkly, "And you, I suppose its your fault she's turned out like this." She glared at Tsume, who glared right back. "Well, since there really wasn't any fun to this game. Perhaps I'll let you go?" Rie offered.

"There's no way you'd let us go. Not this simply." Tsume gave her a wary look.

"No, I'm being completely honest." She put her hands up in the air innocently, "If you want, I will personally escort you out." She stepped back onto the elevator and backed into the farthest corner, "Come along then."

Tsume hesitantly stood and looked back to a quivering Toboe. "Come on, I won't let anything happen." He whispered and she followed him onto the elevator but she stayed behind him. Never making eye contact with her mother. They were raised up into a dark room that had July and Renaldo in it. Neither of them said a word as Rie led them out of the room into a maze of stark hallways. Toboe's claws clicked against the linoleum floors, her stressed breathing didn't go unnoticed by the silver-haired companion.

Toboe knew they were going in the right direction, she could smell the winter air. She just couldn't believe her mother was letting them go, unscathed. There was something fishy about the whole thing. She didn't like it one bit. When they finally reached the doors, Tsume and Toboe bolted. They raced out in to the bone chilling air and ran as fast as their tired paws could carry them.

The wind whipped against them, they had no idea where they were, it was dark and nothing looked familiar. When the finally stopped, it was because their feet simply couldn't carry them anymore. They collapsed with heavy breathing and almost immediately, they both fainted.

Toboe had been the first to wake, her legs hurt and she was still tired, but she knew she had something to do. She stood on wobbly legs and took the few steps there were to Tsume's still sleeping form. "I'm sorry. I truly am. I'm a coward, a frightened child, someone you shouldn't be protecting. I also know that I will cause nothing but trouble for you in the future. So, please forgive me for what I'm doing." She leaned down and licked his cheek affectionately and backed away. Treading lightly, she left. It was hard, and she was weak. But that didn't bother her in the least, it was the fact she was leaving him alone. In a place neither of them knew and without the rest of the pack. But she had to, the pack would always be in danger, especially Tsume. Toboe couldn't have that. "I'm glad that we met again Tsume, lets meet again in the next life time okay?"

A/N: There it is, this is not the end, trust me. I wouldn't do that. But tell me what you think!
