Chapter 14: Back together

P.O.V: Veronica

Touching the surface of earth, I fold my wings and began to walk up behind the red head man slowly; pulling out a dagger I prepare to take his life. I froze when the man drop his cigarette, as soon as it touch the ground flames surrounded me, and he then turn to face me.

"So you came to end it all for me... it truly hurts me to put such a beautiful women in this situation." Cross said lighting another cigarette, and looking at my dagger. I put it back where it was hidden, and smiled.

"Then you should just let me go." I said sweetly.

"No." He blowing out smoke. "So what did the angels think when they were suddenly able to find me. That I became to comfortable and let my guard down."

"No, we thought you became old." I said, showing my disgust at his youthful appearance, as well as his lineage.

"Well then you angels must be idiots, and I have a question."

"If I don't go back reinforcement will come." I said, stand at the edge of the flames, but no matter how hard I try to pass I couldn't. What was this.

"I can assure you that won't happen." Cross said, and I knew he was telling the truth. "Where's Neah?" He asked, and I froze.

Swallowing I smile. "We angels don't involve ourselves..." all of sudden pain strike me, and fell to my knees.

"When ever you lie, you will receive pain. That simply for you since it natural for angels to tell the truth."

"Then I just won't speak." I said, and Cross stare at me not amused. He then pull out his Innocence, the gun, and pointed at me. "Aren't you against hurting a woman."

"I came to the conclusion that your to filthy to be considered a women to me." He said, and I stare down at the barrel. "We both know this won't kill, but it'll hurt like hell. So I'll asked once more Where Neah?"

I was silent, and only minute pass when he pull the trigger. A scream of pain broke threw my lips, and I glare at the man.

"The next one will be in the face." He said, and my body tense still feeling the first shot. "Where Neah?" He asked again.

P.O.V: Allen

Stepping off the train, I was happy to Lenalee there waiting for us, not so happy to see Kanda, and beside him a little old man stood. And as soon as Lavi step off the train, the old man ran to him, and kick him in the gut with both feet. "You stupid boy." The man said as Lavi keel over. I toke a step back not wanting the same thing to happen to me. The old man then turn towards me. "You must be Allen, you can call me Bookman, I'm Lavi teacher." He said, and I nodded.

"Nice to meet you." I said, and he smiled.

"We should get out of public the eye." He said, and start walking away. Lavi put a hand on my shoulder, to help him get up, before we followed him.

Bookman took us, to a little shack, that was bigger then you'll expect. And then I was examined, "You have good control over you innocence."

I couldn't tell if Bookman was asking a question or making a statement. "So why you come all the way out here?" Lavi asked, and bookman chop him in the head.

"Because my idiot disciple has risk his life more then once, as he is acting like a Exorcist. I allow you to get a innocence to protect yourself, not risk your life." Bookman said and I felt like I didn't know apart of Lavi life. "I have the second mind to take you back with me, but I won't, I came to meet Allen."

"Me, why?" I asked, and he turn towards me.

"Your eye that can see akuma, it peek my interest. It nice to know a good kid hold such a gift." He said and I smile.

"You guys should rest, we'll get started on our mission once again tomorrow." Lenalee said, and I turn to Kanda.

"Why are you here?"

And Kanda glared at me. "You can't seem to stay on track with your mission so I came to complete it for you, since my mission was completely long ago."

"We are doing just find without you."

"Clearly you're holding us back Beansprout."

"My name is Allen, and can prove I'm not holding us back." I said pulling up my sleeves, and Kanda pulled out his Katana.

"Guys!" Lenalee shouted, then pinch both our ears. "This is nor the time or place, Now rest up." Lenalee said shutting us all up.
