Chapter 14
Hueco Mundo
Oni(Hanatarou) shook in pure nervousness and horror as the large Hollow dog glared at him like a predator trying to defend its territory, Oni didn't know whether to attack or flee as fast as he could, but being stared down by a large animal has caused him to be a metaphorical statue. Oni's thoughts were on what to do, also what were those black things doing in its brown fur, he didn't know why but along with the threatening feeling from being stared down by a large Hollow he had a strange feeling of melancholy and emptiness that he was feeling, it felt like is was pressing down on him, all of this was rough on someone who lost his memories.
"W-Whoa, okay this is bad, should I kill it?" he asked himself, he steadied his blade, but the Hollow dog caught on.
*Growl*
Oni immediately stopped, he had no clue of how powerful this monster was and he didn't even know the extent of his own abilities to begin with, so fighting something on this scale would be pure suicide for him, meaning he would have to run. Oni takes a step back/
*Growl*
The beast growls at him making him stop, it seemed that this monster wouldn't let Oni go or fight, he was in a perpetual standstill of fear and uncertainty. This Hollow was different compared the horde of Menos that Oni had fought earlier, he cut it up as easily as he did the Menos Grande and for some strange reason he didn't want to, its dog like appearance made it harder.
"Um what now? He asked himself, the best he could think of was to stay completely still until the Hollow went away. How long could that take?
Soul Society (Ruins of Hanatarou's home)
Isane led the way to Hanatarou's family home and Rukia followed, she was very worried when she heard that Hanatarou had not been seen, even though he wasn't declared missing, the reason that Isane was worried was because Hanatarou never missed a day of work no matter what the circumstance was
"He'll be oaky." She thought desperately.
But the moment they arrived where Hanatarou's house they saw the smoldering remains of Hanatarou's home, the destruction that was wrought, the entire house was destroyed and Hanatarou couldn't be seen anywhere, his spiritual pressure couldn't even be sensed meaning he had to either be missing or dead, Rukia prayed it wasn't the second answer.
"W-What happened here?" asked Isane in utter shock and fear, she looked over at Rukia and saw that she was looking on in solace, it was like her hear had just shattered into thousands of pieces, she was just looking at the remains on Hanatarou's home.
"Rukia, I know this might be har-"
"I-I was with him last night." Said Rukia interrupting Isane.
"What?" asked Isane in some shock.
"W-We were together last night on a date, I saw him last night and he was fine, he was happy, he couldn't have done this himself." Said Rukia in great depression. Isane saw how distraught Rukia was at this, she didn't know that she and Hanatarou had become so close.
"Why did this happen to him, I told him last night-"
"Rukia," Rukia looked at Isane," we need to report this, there will be an investigation, most likely the Hollows destroyed his home." Said Isane. Rukia then got her composure back and held together.
"Right, lets return." Said Rukia.
Rukia and Isane then returned to Serietie to report the destruction of Hanatarou's home, they would most likely brush it off as Hollows killing him, but that did not make the situation any better, to Rukia it was a slap to the face because she and Hanatarou were just starting to know each other better and this happens.
Hueco Mundo(Las Noches)
Menoly was laying on her bed in an attempt to fall asleep, despite this attempt she couldn't sleep at all considering what had happened, she had fallen in love with a Shinigami and it ended so soon, it was so much fun and it was so wonderful she never thought she could meet anyone that would like or care about her other than Loly. She figured that Hanatarou was safer now that she wasn't in contact with him, even though it was her own sister that would've killed him in the first place.
"I wish I could see him again, just one last time." Uttered Menoly to herself.
"Talking to yourself again?" Harribel asked. Menoly quickly sat up and saw Harribel standing in her room with her back on the wall and her arms folded, Menoly dropped her guard knowing what she wanted to speak about.
"H-Harribel-sama, w-what do you wish to talk to me about?" asked Menoly. Harribel shook her head.
"You needn't be so coy, you've been distant from everyone else, I know what this behavior stems from, you miss that boy even when I told you not to see him." Said Harribel sternly, hearing her tone made Menoly tense up greatly.
"I-I know." Said Menoly.
"You disobeyed me." Said Harribel.
"Yes." Said Menoly
"You exposed yourself to the Shinigami and might have seen you and caused trouble." Said Harribel. Menoly lowered her head.
"I know." Said Menoly.
"You could have gotten killed and that boy imprisoned." Said Harribel.
"I understand." Said Menoly. Harribel could feel the contempt and sadness in Menoly's voice, this was when Harribel asked a very important question.
"Was it worth it, did you have fun?" asked Harribel. Menoly was tempted to have ask what the question was to stall, but she knew that wouldn't fly with Harribel, she was too smart for that, so looked dead at Harribel and answered in great truth.
"Yes, it was so much fun, he was wonderful to be around." Said Menoly.
Harribel realized that she never had anyone to talk to about her time with Ulquiorra, her situation and Menoly's were the same, only difference is that Menoly got caught and she didn't, that was the thing, she had only expressed her sadness at what happened with his death so maybe talking with Menoly about Hanatarou would make things better for her. Harribel walked over by Menoly's bed and sat down.
"Tell me about him." Said Harribel.
"Huh?" asked Menoly in confusion.
"Tell me about Hanatarou." Said Harribel. Menoly did not know why Harribel asked this of her, but she happy told Harribel everything.
Forest of Menos
For 50 minutes Oni and the Hollow were in a complete standstill, neither one had moved from their spot since their meeting, whenever Oni tried to move the large dog would growl at him threating him no to movie or even fight him leaving them both in complete statuesque. As Oni stood in place he wondered when this was going to end.
"I've been like this forever when is he going to let me go?" thought Oni, he then moved his fingers.
*GROWL*
"Ah come one, h-how bad is my luck, I don't want to fight anymore really." He said.
The animal continued to look at Oni with a terrifying glare, it was prepared to kill Oni at the first chance it got, Oni was starting to get tired and he knew he couldn't keep standing for long, but he didn't know what to do, he didn't want to fight the beast so the only thing he could do was make him out to be friendly. He looked at his blade cautiously.
"I-I'll start by putting this down." He thought.
Oni then slowly put down his blade, as he did the beast growled at him, but when he finally put his katana down the Hollow stopped growling at him, Oni then put both his hands up to signify that he wasn't going to try anything.
"I-I'm not going to hurt you mister dog," the beast looked at Oni curiously," I-I only have this thing on my left arm," it got closer to Oni to the point its nose was in his face," o-okay?" said Oni as he tried to reason with it.
The dog then began sniffing Oni with its large nose, as it did Oni held back any laughter as this occurred, when the beast was done sniffing Oni (who is Hanatarou) it sat on its bottom like an obedient dog with a serious demeanor. Oni looked up at the beast and smiled.
"See- I-I'm harmless, m-my name's Oni." He said.
*Bark*
The beast barked resonating sound through the forest making Oni shake a little.
"S-So what's your name?" asked Oni.
The Hollow then bared its claws in one paw and began scratching the forest floor making dirt and grass fly, Oni quickly got out of the way as this happened, he looked as the giant beast continued to scratch the ground. When it was finished he stepped back a bit and put its paw under its work, Oni looked and saw it spell out a name, Oni read it aloud.
"Kukkapurro," he looked up at the beast, "that's your name, Kukkapurro?" asked Oni. Kukkapurro nodded. Kukapurro barked to respond yes.
*Bark*
Oni laughed for a bit hearing the response, he then started to pat Kukkapurro's fur gently.
"Loly didn't mention you at all," he then looked back at the black limps," or those, he looked up at Kukkapurro," do you want me to take those out of your fur?" he asked. Kukkapurro shook his head.
*RAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH!*
Just then there was a giant roar that shattered the air in the forest, Oni quickly picked up his blade and Kukkapurro got on guard. Then before either of them could react a horde of Menos were upon them again only this time they had snuck in closer that the others had done for Oni.
"Oh no them again!" said Oni.
Kukkapurro then bared its fangs and attacked killing several Menos Grande in light speed like a wolf in a blink of an eye.
"Whoa." Uttered Oni. The Menos the extended their tongues like spears into Kukapurro stabbing him in multiple places, this cause Kukapurro to writhe in pain making the limbs fall out of his fur.
"K-Kukkapurro!" yelled Oni.
Oni then jumped onto Kukkapurro's back and sliced off all the tongues on that stuck into his body. Oni then dashed over to the Menos that were behind him and began slicing them up and taking their power the instant they died. Kukkapurro devours all the Menos that plagued the front of them thus defeating the Oni finished absorbing power he heard a discomforting sound.
*Wimper*
"Oh no," he ran over to his new friend," a-are you okay?" he asked as he touched Kukkapurro's fur, he searched around and saw several open wounds bleeding fast.
"N-No what do I do?" he asked himself.
Just then Oni's gauntlet began to glow with a pure white flame, he didn't know why, but it was familiar to him, he tried to do it with his other hand that held his blade, but got a green glow instead. Both powers felt very familiar and both were very peaceful.
"W-What is this? He asked himself, he looked at Kukkapurro's wounds and touched them with his left hand, then in and instant the wound was gone, Oni gasped happily seeing this, he put his blade down and began healing Kukkapurro, he would use his right hand as well, but it didn't yield as good results as his left hand, Oni continued to heal Kukkapurro until he was all better.
"A-Are you okay now?" he asked.
*BARK*
Kukkapurro barked happily and licked Oni to show its appreciation.
"Y-Your welcome." He said. Oni then looked over where the battle was and saw that the black limbs that were in Kukkapurro's fur were on the ground, he walked over to them to get them back.
"I-I wondered why he had those, he was very protective of them." He said to himself,
Oni's left hand the glowed with white flame again, but he paid it no mind since it was for healing, he then tried to pick up both the arm and leg, but when he did his body was engulfed in a white light, when he touched the limbs he could feel his energy being sapped away, he couldn't hear of see anything.
"W-What's happening!" he thought.
When the light died down he was on his back, all the strength he had collected was gone, he felt as if though he had died a horrible death.
"Ow, what was that?" he asked himself. He got up and looked at Kukkapurro.
"A-are you okay too?" he asked, but he saw that Kukkapurro was whimpering and scared.
"Huh, what's wrong boy?" he asked.
"Who are you?" a stoic voice asked. Oni quickly turned around and saw a very pale, nearly gray, green eyes, black messy hair and naked with a "4" on his left pectoral. Oni jumped back and Kukkapurro hid behind him.
"W-Who are you?" asked Oni in fear.
"I don't know what number you are, but I am the 4th espada Ulquiorra Schiffer." Said Ulquiorrra.
And That's all I wrote.
Kukkapurro was Yammy's dog by the way.
