Merlin and Arthur were waiting in the warlock's red beetle, both cautiously watching a house which looked like any other home but soon all kinds of drama were going to occur. The night was silent and a cold breeze crept through the cracks of the car windows.

"I remember when we were going to find the Callieach." Arthur spoke between shudders. "We had to have firelight to survive and even with the masses of heat it produced…those things, the dorocha, I could feel their coldness, their emptiness from a mile away. This reminds me of it, the sudden ice hitting your skin like a whip."

"You're lucky you didn't have to run into one, literally."

"I'm guessing you used magic to help you back on your feet for that one."

"Surprisingly not, it was Vilia, spirits of the river, that helped me back, as Lancelot told me."

"Good on you Lance!" Arthur heard Gwaine, in the back of his mind, say faintly.

"So your magical friends were a big fan of you?"

"It's seems so." Merlin laughed. "But overall, most of the magical beasts were trying to kill me."

"And I thought I had it bad."

"You did Arthur."

"I had a dictating father and a magical lunatic for a sister; you had an entire destiny you had to share with an arrogant prince."

"So you're finally admitting your arrogant?" Merlin smirked. "You had a whole kingdom to rule, Arthur. Your life wasn't just family troubles." He said in a serious tone.

"It was what made Camelot in a whole lot more danger."

"You got to put that in the past, we all have regrets, God knows I do, but after all these years, I've learned that if I forgive myself at least a little bit each day, then I'll make it through to at least tomorrow alright."

Arthur smiled and put his arm on Merlin's shoulder. "You're brave, you know, really brave." Merlin gave a shaky laugh before flinching like he had just been attacked with a taser.

"What is it?" Arthur asked suddenly.

"I can feel her powers…bloody hell; I haven't felt this sensation in ages." He said, putting a hand on his forehead.

"I can't see her!" Arthur said eyes squinted to see through the darkness.

"A little to the left," Leon instructed, Arthur obeyed and then saw a shadowy figure go through the garden gate.

"She's there!" he half shouted, pointing to the front garden path where the figure was walking hastily up. She clicked the door open with a glow of her eyes and entered.

"Let's go." Merlin said.

He quickly left the car, followed by Arthur and followed her tracks. "Ne derelinquas nos sonitus!" Merlin whispered. The king suddenly felt his ears pop, everything was muffled like he was underwater and then his hearing came back, accept it was sharper.

"Merlin did you feel that as well?" he whispered.

"Silence charm, no need to whisper."

"Nice." He admitted.

They followed her up the stairs, she entered one of the rooms that was to the right of the end of the staircase.

"Keep it together!" they heard her say to herself.

A cat appeared near Merlin's side. "Hey Bronx," Celia smiled. The cat looked Merlin in the eye, he hissed and leapt at him, Arthur went and tackled him off, Merlin lost his balance and fell into Celia, and they both became visible. Celia screamed. Merlin was first to act and put his hand over her mouth and did the spell again.

"Stupid cat!" Arthur spat as the cat fought him, he threw it on the floor, it hissed and ran off.

"You're…you're…" she struggled for words, pointing at Merlin.

"Who is that?" A man said they heard footsteps getting closer to the door. Arthur picked Celia up, Merlin ran down the stairs and into the living room, Arthur followed with a screaming Celia. After putting her down, by Arthur, she ran towards the door, which was quickly closed quietly by Merlin's eyes flashing amber.

"Get away!" she shouted. "They know me, they can hear me screaming.

"They can't." Merlin said calmly, sitting down on the sofa. Celia heard the upstairs dialogue.

"What is it darling?"

"Nothing Julia, just the cat making a racket," a man replied.

"But how could they not hear me shouting?"

"Silence charm." Arthur answered, joining Merlin on the sofa.

"Sit." Merlin gestured, "We need to chat."

"You're…you're-"

"Magic, I know." He said as she collapsed down on the opposite sofa.

"I'm not by the way." Arthur said.

"I thought I was the only one."

"So did I." Merlin laughed. "I was the only one for a long, long time."

"But why do I have these powers?"

"I don't know. People told me it was a gift, others," he looked at Arthur "Saw it as a threat. It is a gift and a danger, it depends how you use it."

"I don't want to use it, it's a-"

"Curse, a way to separate you from others, a thing that makes you feel like the universe wanted to punish you?"

"Yes." She whispered. "I had to leave my family."

"Did they know?"

"No…but after what happened, I felt like a hazard, I left home but I came to some of my family friends to ask them all for help but it never worked."

"You always ended up hurting them? I can help you."

"How can you help me?"

"I can help you control your powers."

"But I don't want them at all. I want to go home."

"You can't go home if your family is in danger."

"I know, I know." She said, combing her hair with her hands. "I just don't want to have them thinking I'm dead or I hate them."

"Have you seen the news?" said Merlin, Celia nodded.

"You're going to have to get used to saying goodbye to people or not having any connections at all."

"Why, I'm not a big threat. I want a normal life."

"I'm sorry, but you can't have a normal life if you're magic."

"Merlin," Arthur said quickly.

"What Arthur, it's true!" Merlin said sadly.

"Merlin, Arthur…you're having a joke. You're messed up."

"No," Arthur said, getting up and moving closer to her. "I am…well was, king Arthur, and he's Merlin."

"You're lying. Why are you lying to me?!" she shouted, the room was shaking slightly.

"Look, we're not." Merlin said, running closer, he took both of her hands and looked in her eyes.

Suddenly they went into a vision.

Merlin arriving in Camelot, looking at the castle, looking fascinated. Merlin saving Gaius when they first met, Merlin talking to the Great Dragon, Merlin saving Arthur, Merlin being poisoned, Lancelot saving Merlin from the griffin, Merlin saving Arthur from drowning in Avalon, Arthur drinking the goblet of poison instead of Merlin, Merlin kissing Freya, Merlin controlling the dragon, Merlin seeing through the crystal, Merlin being saved by the Vilia, Merlin creating a dragon out of embers from the fire. The image then flashed to Camelot being on fire, as the Great dragon attacked the castle walls, Merlin killing Nimueh, Will dying for Arthur, Merlin poisoning Morgana, Arthur dying, Uther dying, Arthur dying, Alice dying, Arthur dying, Gwaine dying, Elyan dying, Arthur dying, Arthur dying over and over again.

"Stop!" Merlin shouted. Celia looked in his eyes in fear. "Celia please."

Everything started shaking violently, pictures on the mantelpiece crashed to the floor, a lamp fell over, making the wires snap causing a spark which set fire to the curtains. Everywhere that she looked caught alight. The room was up in smoke and the fire alarms went off.

"Celia, I can help-"Merlin started before being shoved into the back wall by an invisible force, he hit his head and it then drooped.

"Celia, stop!" Arthur shouted. Her eyes flashed gold and Arthur couldn't walk, his legs went completely numb. She blast the door open and ran out of the house.

A couple of seconds later the feeling came back to his legs, he stumbled upwards, the smoke made everything fuzzy. Merlin had slumped to the floor after she left.

"Merlin!" he said weakly. Merlin wasn't responding. There was blood tangled in his hair and his nose began to leak crimson.
