Kind of a light chapter for content. hope you enjoy :)
Turning the corner into Harmonica Town, Molly noticed that Wizard's door was open. It piqued her curiosity she knew enough about him to know that he was not the type of individual that would not normally leave his door open. He was very secretive and very private. She cautiously made her way up the steps to the Wizard's house. Over the past few weeks it had become apparant to her that she should no longer rush headfirst into anything concerning her quest to save Castanet. She could see Chase laying unconscious halfway in the doorway, Wizard was a laying only a few feet away in the same state. Crystals of ice were scattered around his house. Molly carefully stepped over Chase's body and pulled him the rest of the way into the house. His skin felt cold to the touch. She firmly closed the door behind her. Molly was at a loss for what to do at the moment. She knelt down near Chase. She heard Wizard moaning softly.
"Wizard!" Molly shouted. She ran over to him.
"Molly," he whispered.
"What happened here?" Molly asked. He attempted to sit up. Molly saw a look of pain cross his face. She grabbed his arm with one hand, the other she placed against his back to help hold him up. His face was pale, and his lips were a bluish color.
"Ozari," Wizard stated. He glanced over at Chase's form laying a few feet away from him. Molly assisted Wizard in getting to his feet. He walked over to his shelf. He took a small vial filled with a milky gray liquid and drank it. His color returned to normal.
"What are we going to do about Chase?" Molly asked. "Is he still dangerous?"
"He shouldn't be," Wizard stated, she could hear the hesitation in his voice. Molly bent down near Chase. His skin was still as icy cold as it had been when she had first touched him.
"He's still so cold," Molly said.
"Grab a blanket off the bed and cover him," Wizard advised. He had an air of calm about him that Molly envied. She quickly grabbed one and wrapped it around Chase's form. Wizard placed a crystal the color of fire on the blanket. She could feel the heat starting to radiate through the blanket. Molly was amazed at the power Wizard and his crystals possessed. There appeared flickering from inside the crystal. It looked like a small fire inside. Molly touched Chase's forehead, some of the heat was returning. Wizard placed another crystal the color of coal on the blanket.
"what's that for?" Molly asked.
"It will keep him down in case Ozari still has control of him," Wizard advised. Molly shivered. She was afraid to encounter Ozari again.
"What will happen?" Molly asked.
"Nothing," Wizard stated.
"Is he going to be okay?" Molly asked.
"He should be fine," Wizard stated nonchalantly.
"Should be?" Molly asked. "How can you be so calm about this?"She turned away from him and focused her attention back to Chase. She was cradling his head in her arms. He Slowly opened his eyes. Icy blue hatred stared back at her. She jumped away. She could see him struggling against his restraint.
"You!" Ozari boomed. "You are going to pay for what you've done to my faithful servants!" Molly could hear the seething anger in his voice.
"What?" Molly asked confused. "I didn't do anything."
"You killed them!" He shouted. She could see a flurry of activity around her. Wizard was doing something, but she was focused on Ozari.
"I didn't kill anyone!" Molly insisted.
"My sprites! You killed my sprites!"
Molly closed her eyes, she could remember the fight with the evil harvest sprites. Some of her wounds from that fight were still healing.
"I-" she trailed off. She wasn't sure of what else to say. Just as suddenly as his eyes opened, they shut again. Molly whirled back around to face Wizard, his eyes were closed, and he appeared to be floating a few inches above the ground. Molly's eyes widened. She was becoming more and more awed by the depth of his power. He suddenly collapsed onto the floor.
Wizard awoke suddenly and winced in pain. He was perfomring too many high level spells that were sapping his energy. He knew the risks of performing these spells, but he had an oath to protect Molly, and protect her he would. Molly! He scanned his small house for the girl. By now she must have been tired of going through the trials she was enduring. He couldn't see her from his angle on the floor. Chase was still lying on the floor with the blanket over him. The flame inside his warming crystal was still blazing. He breathed a sigh of relief. He was trying his best to avoid human casualties in this fight against the Frost King, but it was getting increasingly difficult.
Molly emerged from his kitchen, when she saw him a look of relief came over her face.
"What is going on? Why do you keep passing out?" Molly asked. Wizard slowly stood up, making sure to move slowly to cause less pain.
"The spells I am casting are too powerful for me, because of that, it is draining my energy," Wizard explained. He made his way over to his shelf of potions. He had concocted enough Energy Revival earlier.
"So then why are casting those spells?" Molly asked, he could hear the frustration in her voice.
"I have to," Wizard answered. "It's the only way to control Ozari." Wizard grabbed another vial of Energy Revival and drank the contents of it. The bitter taste stung his tongue. He supressed the urge to cough. Molly was staring at him intently.
"What are we going to do about Chase?" Molly asked.
"At midnight, Ozari will leave his body, at that point I will bring him back to his house," Wizard assured her. Molly stared at him her eyes conveyed the doubt she must surely be feeling.
"So he is going to be ok?" Molly insisted.
"He should be fine," Wizard answered. From what he could see, there was no permanent damage done to the human's body, he would need to more accurately assess it after Ozari was trapped again. Wizard honestly didn't know what the full extent of the damage was. He was afraid for both humans after his brief meeting with the Harvest King.
"What aren't you telling me?" Molly asked him. He hated how perceptive she was. He needed to distance himself from this girl, she was starting to be able to read him, which was not good.
"There is nothing for you to worry about," Wizard stated evenly. He needed to get her out of the house before he could start his administrations fully on Chase. Molly's eyes narrowed, but she didn't argue with him further.
"Ok, well if you have it handled," Molly conceded. She smiled half-heartedly and left his house. He breathed a sigh of relief. He knew how hard these spells he had cast would have been on Chase, he would have to work quickly to reverse the effects. He quickly started on Chase's reversal procedures.
Molly left Wizard's house feeling apprehensive. She knew that there was something that Wizard was holding back. She could feel it. Molly shook her head. Right now she couldn't dwell on Chase and Wizard, she needed to get to the church so she could talk to Mira. She was going to do what she could to help this town recover. She needed the Accessories Shop to be opened. She was easily fatiguing using her tools that had not been upgraded.
Molly took a deep breath, going in to Celesta Church she knew that Perry would want to give her a mini sermon. Perry was passionate about his quest to "convert the non believers." She slowly opened the door to the church. Perry looked up from the pulpet.
"Molly!" Perry greeted with enthusiasm. "It's so good to see you again. Have you reconsidered coming to church on Sundays?" Molly walked up to him. In the back corner sitting in a pew all by herself was a lonely looking woman with short frizzy curly violet hair. The woman looked rather plain, Molly could see that she had recently been crying.
"I'm here to speak with Mira," Molly whispered.
"Yes that would be wonderful! She is so sad since her husband passed away," Perry said in hushed tones. "She needs some guidance and hope at this point." Perry pointed to the woman sitting in the corner. Molly made her way to Mira who looked up at her and attempted a half hearted smile.
"Hello," Molly greeted. "I'm new here, my name is Molly."
"I'm Mira," Mira answered.
"You own the Accessories Shop?" Molly inquired. Mira simply nodded.
"I'm not sure what to do without my husand. The business was his dream." Her eyes started tearing up.
"Why don't you try to go back and run the store?" Molly asked.
"Oh!" Mira exclaimed, she brought her hand up to her chest."Julius is doing just fine taking care of it in my absense." Molly stared at the woman, she either didn't know or she was in a state of dilusion from her sorrow.
"Julius has shut down the shop," Molly informed.
"Oh Julius is struggling?" Mira asked. Tears flowed freely down her face at this point. "I am such a fool!"She buried her face into her hands.
"No you-"
"What are you doing?!" Perry shouted. He came rushing over to where Molly and Mira were sitting. "What have you done to upset her so? We've made so much progress today! You've ruined it all!"
"Oh it's quite alright," Mira stated throught tears. "It's not her."
"No it is not!" Perry insisted. He positioned himself between Molly and Mira. "Please leave, you've done enough trouble today!"
Molly stared dumbfoundedly at the priest. She had never seen him so angry.
"It's quite ok," Mira assured.
"No it's not!" Perry insisted. He turned back to Molly. "You a non believer comes in here and assaults one of my most loyal parishoners! Get out!" Perry's face was red wih anger. He raised his hand up as if he was going to strike her. Molly quickly left the church before he could make any contact.
