Luffy's eye twitched as he looked down.
The hated thing was laying on the deck, staring at him. Just staring at him.
It must be from Ace, no one else on board dared chew bubblegum around him.
Of course Robin explained how gum and rubber was made, that it was no part of him.
"I am human." Luffy told himself staring at the disregarded gum, "I was born human. Gum is not my kin."
Luffy reaches for his pocket and pulls out a piece of paper that had a list of something given to him by Nami, he could not remember what it was for but it was coming in handy now; bending down he covers the gum and squeezes the paper around it, picking it off the deck.
Standing he turns it round to stare at the pink gum.
"Oh, Luffy!" Nami voice came from behind, he turns to look at her, "About that list- ….I...you..."
A odd smile appeared on her lips.
"Luffy?" Nami asks smiling brightly.
"Yeah?" Luffy answers blinking.
"Is that the list?" Nami asks, still smiling that bright smile.
"Yeah." Luffy answered with a short nod.
Nami's fist smacked into the back of the rubberman's skull, forcing his head to jerk forward and into the paper he was holding.
Luffy blinks unhurt by the impact, then blinks again when he sees his vision on his right side was blocked.
Reaching up he takes the paper away from his eye, a long pink sting gooey gum was sting was attached to the paper, which was connected to his hair.
Luffy blinks at the gum.
Then...
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" Luffy's scream rang across the whole ship.
