…
It was getting dark. There stood two exorcists in the training area, their innocence's activated, each staring the other down to see who it will be to strike first, yet smiles lingered on both their faces. The door was locked, there were to be no interruptions during this training session.
Lavi took in Arianna's appearance; she had changed into her exorcist uniform, but had taken off the jacket for their training. He looked at her curvaceous figure, the scars on her and the stance she held, like she was ready to advance at any moment. He couldn't control the smirk growing on his face.
Lavi twirled his hammer around in his hands and ran forward, studying Arianna's reaction, to which she dodged and swung at him.
"You almost got me there, naughty~!" Lavi said with a laugh and a cocky smile. Arianna laughed also, hearing the cheekiness that laced his voice.
They swung, dodged and ran. Their heart rates were increasing and their breathing was uneven.
Training with Arianna like this felt like a forbidden dance to Lavi, the closeness of their bodies as they moved close to attack, their grunts and loud breathing, and their quick, precise movements. They could feel the heat radiating off the other. Lavi caught more glimpses of Arianna's seductive figure as she twisted and turned, her skirt flaring out, unawares. He tried to keep those kinds of thoughts locked away.
But damn it, he was enjoying himself.
And he was sure that she was too.
An all-knowing smile played on her lips. She knew he was watching her, because she was doing the same.
The way his muscles tensed, the way his tight white pants and tight navy blue shirt showed his masculine physique. Though she knew better, but looking at him a little wouldn't hurt.
One wrong move, Lavi hadn't taken notice of his feet, his focus elsewhere. Arianna took her chance to sweep her leg and knock him over, which resulted in her successfully pinning him to the floor, straddling his waist.
"Looks like you got me," Lavi said between breaths, his smile never ceasing. Arianna smirked.
"You were lucky, I was going easy on you," he teased. Arianna narrowed her eyes, semi-serious.
"What? You think I couldn't get you in this position?" he asked smirking.
Then Lavi took hold of her shoulders and rolled over, he was now pinning her to the floor. Her eyes wide, their bodies were so close, and their breathing was still uneven, the heat still radiating. He saw the blush spread across her cheeks as he leaned down, his rational thought was gone. He couldn't stop even if he wanted to; she was like the apple in the tale of Adam and Eve, he couldn't resist the taste of the forbidden fruit.
Their lips met sweetly, at first. Lavi's hand experimentally travelled up the length of her thigh, his fingertips searing like fire against her skin. Their kiss deepened. Arianna was caught in the moment, too caught up to realize what was happening, and at that moment, she didn't want to realize it, she just wanted to feel.
Their judgment obscured by desire.
Lavi's tongue pleaded for permission, licking the contour of Arianna's lips. She gasped, and he was in.
Intoxicating and hypnotic, exploring original sin.
Arianna's arms wrapped around Lavi's neck, pulling him closer, his body almost crushing her, but she didn't mind, not in the slightest. He pulled her up so she was sitting in his lap, her legs either side of him, his hands found her hips and pulled her closer to his own, their lips still moving as one, their tongues exploring what was forbidden. Lavi moved away from her lips and latched onto her neck, she gasped and entwined her fingers in his hair.
But by now, they were both aware.
Aware of what they were doing.
He knew he was taking advantage of her, a girl with deep feelings for him, but the Bookman forbade personal relationships.
Do you really expect an eighteen year old not to do something like this?
Lavi's hand reached the hem of her shirt, sliding underneath, travelling up her toned stomach and towards her breasts. She was about to say something then, but Lavi covered her mouth with his. Too lost in the moment to give it up now, just a little longer, which was all he needed.
He kneaded her breast softly, his hand was warm and gentle, Arianna moaned into his mouth and she felt him smile against her lips. She pushed him over, lip contact broken, his hand retreated, and he now lay on his back on the floor, Arianna on top of him, her hands teasingly tracing their way up his abs and up to his chest. She leaned down temptingly close, their lips brushing against each other.
Lavi growled.
She kissed along his jaw line before meeting his eye. His vibrant green eye clouded by lust.
Their lips met again, sweetly, more romantic than lust. Lavi's hands held her waist, both slipping under her shirt again, but staying in their place. Arianna gripped at his shirt, and he could feel her nails through its thin fabric, he ached for more or her touch.
Knock knock.
"Arianna? Lavi? Are you in there?" the sweet voice of Lenalee was heard through the training room door.
Arianna hesitantly pulled away, biting her lip and looking away from the door, and Lavi. Lavi sat up, and answered.
"Yeah we're in here," he answered, his voice broke mid-sentence, and they heard Lenalee giggle on the other side of the door.
Arianna almost felt ashamed, they had said that this wasn't allowed to happen, that they were to be only friends, they had agreed. She felt guilty; this was her fault for not moving on.
"I was just wondering when you guys were coming down for dinner, that's all," she said and paused.
"I'll leave you to your training," she said with a soft laugh and her footsteps retreated.
Arianna still refused to look at him in the eyes. They had committed a great taboo, overstepped the line that she had fought not to cross a time before. She thought she knew better than to let it happen again. Yet she made no move to get off him.
There was silence. Really, what could be said?
Lavi cupped Arianna's face with his hands, pulling her in for a long, sweet kiss. They parted, Arianna's eyes still closed, she leant her forehead on his. As if he read her mind, Lavi spoke.
"I know we can't do this, I just wanted to know what it was like," he spoke slowly and softly.
"To be so close to someone," he paused.
"I just wanted that someone to be you," he said kissing her again, just a peck. Arianna lightly chuckled.
"If we keep doing this, I just don't know if I can take it, I'd have to kidnap you," she teased. Moving away from him, a sad smile on her face.
"Don't tempt me," Lavi replied with a short laugh. Arianna moved to get up but Lavi grabbed hold of her.
"Please don't move quite yet," he said biting his lip, looking to the side and blushing.
It was then that she noted the 'enthusiasm' in his pants.
"All right," she said, nonetheless, she couldn't help but let a small laugh escape from her lips.
…
"There you two are," Lenalee said as she spotted Lavi and Arianna entering the cafeteria together.
"That must have been one heck of a training session," she commented as they sat down.
"You're not wrong," Lavi said with a triumphant smirk, to which Arianna nudged him playfully with her elbow.
"What?" Allen said through his food. Although it sounded more like 'wharrthff' but they knew what he meant.
"Never mind it Allen," Arianna said in a sweet tone.
"Did either of you get hurt?" Lenalee asked, concerned.
"Nah~!" Lavi answered.
"I was going easy on her," he added. Arianna laughed gently.
"He's only saying that because I won," she said with another laugh, which caused both Lenalee and Allen to chuckle.
"Hey~! I could've won if I wanted to," Lavi protested but a playful grin crept onto his face.
Everyone just laughed.
"Well, I'm glad I got some training in before this next assignment, it sounds rough," Lavi said, leaning back in his seat.
"Oh yeah," Lenalee remarked knowingly.
"You leave tomorrow morning, don't you?" she asked.
"Mmhmm," he murmured and nodded.
"How about getting some actual work done, fool!" Bookman said as he walked past, smacking the back of Lavi's head.
"Sorry, geez!" Lavi exasperated, rubbing the back of his head with his hand. He looked to see if the Bookman was gone, which he was, then turned to Arianna.
"Can you kiss it better?" he asked, mimicking a small child with a booboo. Arianna raised an eyebrow, her smile widening uncontrollably.
How could she not? The sight was too cute to handle.
"Please~!" he added, pouting. She gave in and nodded.
He was going to tease her about this later, more signs of motherly instincts.
She got up on her knees and bent Lavi's head down, softly kissing the crown of his head.
"All better?" she asked, sitting back down properly.
"Yeah, but I think my lips hurt a little too, please can you kiss them too?" he asked cheekily, sporting a cocky smile and making kissing sounds. The answer she gave him was a slap on the shoulder.
"Ouch~! Allen, Ari's hitting me~!" Lavi complained. It was like it was his job to provide entertainment. Allen and Lenalee laughed.
"I think you deserved that one," Allen replied in a mocking tone.
"Everyone's ganging up on me~!" Lavi exclaimed and they all laughed again.
It felt like home.
…
"So, what do you have to do on your assignment?" Arianna asked Lavi.
They were in Arianna's room; they were sitting on her bed leaning up against the wall, Arianna leant her head on Lavi's shoulder. All the lights were off, except for one lamp by her bed.
"You won't like it," he stated simply. Arianna looked up at him with a questioning gaze.
"Why won't I like it?" she asked, thinking of what it could possibly be about. Lavi sighed and took a deep breath.
"I have to go meet up with Kanda in Surrey," he paused, trying to figure out how to put it delicately.
"We've located the Akuma that attacked you and the village. Kanda and I were assigned to get rid of it, before it causes any more damage," he said and saw her face change from interested to tense and horrified.
"Y-You can't- I- b-but," she couldn't form words. Her eyes were wide and blank, her mind replaying the events that transpired weeks before. Her hands came up to hold her head, her eyes clenched shut; she could almost feel the electric pulses running through her, and the burns it had left.
"P-Please stop," she whispered, to herself more than anyone. Strong arms wrapped around her, her hand reached up and pulled on his shirt, just making sure he was really there.
"I'm sorry, Ari," Lavi said softly, kissing the top of her head.
"No," her soft voice caught him off guard.
"I'm the one who's sorry. I should have expected this anyway, I should have gotten over it by now," she said with a sad smile, snuggling into Lavi's chest more.
"You're such an idiot," Lavi said, in an serious manner.
"Stop worrying about everyone else, worry about yourself for once. You have to stop pushing your own problems down so you can help others, that's not how it works," he explained softly, stroking her hair, they way Arianna would if it were him.
Arianna looked up at him, worried. He gave her a reassuring smile.
"I'll be fine, no need to worry. Yu and I will sort out this pesky little Akuma," he said with a confident laugh.
"You should get some sleep then," Arianna said, to which Lavi laughed and shook his head. He stood up and turned to her.
"I wont see you in the morning, we're leaving early," he said with a distant smile. Arianna scrambled to her feet and embraced him, his arms wrapped around her. She loosened her grip on him and looked up to meet his eyes, they held a certain uncertainty that she didn't like. She grasped the collar of his shirt and pulled him to her lips, sharing a deep kiss.
"Please be safe," she said when they parted. The look in his eyes said that he was unsure.
Then he left, without another word.
…
A/N: Well, that just snuck up on you didn't it?
Lavi seems so cliché in this chapter …
