Sex and the City: (object) a bottle of wine
You smirk when he meets you in the corridor. "Barty Crouch's precious son, breaking curfew?" you tease. "What's the big occasion?"
He scrubs his necks with his palm, clearly uncomfortable. You wonder if he's ever broken a rule in his life. It's almost amusing.
"It's your birthday."
You laugh. "Fifteen today, yeah. I noticed. Happens every year."
Barty shifts his weight from foot to foot. "You always tell me that I'm too good. So… Here I am. Breaking rules. For your birthday."
"Breaking curfew is my present?"
"There's more."
He grabs you by the wrist and leads you into an empty classroom. A bottle of wine waits for you on one of the desks. "How the hell did you manage that?" you ask, impressed as you inspect the wine.
It's a nice vintage. Something no teenager could get their hands on easily. Something some wine snob is undoubtedly upset over losing.
"I took it from Slughorn's office," he admits.
You raise your brows.
"I was getting help on my essay. Professor Flitwick asked him for a word. When he left, I don't know. It was an impulse," he explains, his cheeks scarlet.
With a flick of your wand, you pop the cork. "Wine and rebellion," you chuckle. "Definitely a nice birthday surprise."
You take a swig. Wine, you decide, is disgusting. But Barty has gone through so much trouble to retrieve it, so you down another gulp.
"All of this for me?"
"I just want you to be happy."
With a roll of your eyes, you set the bottle down and kiss Barty hard. "I am happy. You make me happy, you idiot," you laugh. "You don't have to go around stealing wine to make me happy."
His expression softens from nervous to relieved. "Oh. Well… Happy birthday."
You kiss him again. "The happiest one yet," you agree.
