Song: Lead the Way

Album: Glitter Soundtrack

Pairing: Kenlos

No Request, I just wanted some Kenlos

Timid hands slowly reached out to Kendall. The small Latino in front of him looked afraid but his smile made the blonde feel whole. Here they were, two seniors in high school, told by a couple of people at school or in their more private life that what they feel for one another is wrong.

But maybe they are all right. You see, maybe it is wrong for two people to love each other so much. To care so deeply if the one they love is hurt or confused. If this is wrong, then isn't ever human guilty of this?

The blonde reached out, in front of all of his classmates and took Carlos' hand. He wasn't going to live in denial, he couldn't do that to the one person he cared about the most in the world. Kendall let his love for Carlos lead the way, and so did Carlos for Kendall. They let it lead the way to their future.

Their whole situation was quite unbelievable, really. No one saw the captain of Palm Woods High School football team as gay. It never occurred to them. He didn't fit the "type." But what the ignorant people seem to forget is that he didn't just wake up and decide to be gay, just like they didn't wake up and suddenly decide to be straight.

However, Carlos' love for him made it easier. They both started out as friends. Especially for Kendall, Carlos was someone he could talk to, but in a different way somehow. Much like their other friends James and Logan, the blonde would share how he felt with them however never going as deep as he could have. But when it came to the enthusiastic teen... it blossomed into something way more. Something so delicate and magical that it leaves Kendall breathless every time he thinks about it; every time he tries to decipher it. Kendall loves him. Carlos loves him back. Maybe he's not supposed to question it but be thankful he's found something so precious.

Just as they have had their haters, they have had thrice the amount of support. From some teachers, to classmates, and of course friends and family and that's all that truly matters. These people have been there for the two though the ups and the downs, and this is all that Carlos and Kendall could ask for. They made their way hand in hand through the school that day, stronger than ever.

The days after that in the school continued to get better. People realized that their words weren't effecting the pair so they went on with their lives. It was now senior prom day and of course Kendall and Carlos were going together.

They had also planned to go with their also group of friends and their dates as well.

"Aw, Kendall, baby you look so cute. Please just a few more pictures." Mama Knight said as he took another round of pictures in his much fitted black and gold tuxedo. The colors had been Carlos' idea and boy was Kendall happy with the look. He certainly did look dapper if he did say so himself.

"Mom's right you look great Kendall." Katie spoke from her view of him through the stairs. He turned her way and thanked her, then went to smiling broadly for his mother's pictures.

"Just hurry mom. I have to go over to Carlos' house soon..." He said, smiling at the thought of Carlos in his tux. Jennifer snapped some more pictures of her dazedly smiling son and grinned herself. "Okay, okay. I'm done. Just take this camera and make sure you get a lot of pictures of you and Carlos on here for me. Now I have to get ready for work." She said, while getting a few more look overs of her son. Mama Knight was so happy to see him, clearly happy and excited for the night to come. It was almost like Carlos' enthusiasm was rubbing off on Kendall and that thought alone made her so emotional and proud. "Mom, I will. I promise. I love you and have a good day at work. See you later Katie." And with that he was already out of the house and rushing to see Carlos.

When he arrived at the Garcia doorstep the butterflies in his stomach were fluttering so much. The blonde had to take a moment to stop his hands from shaking and to breathe more fluidly before he knocked on the door. There was a short pause before Silvia Garcia, Carlos' mom, answered and gave him a hug, welcoming him. "Kendall, you look so cute. Oh, Carlos cannot wait to see you. He's been talking about you all day non-stop. Kendall will look so hot this, Kendall is so sweet that-"

"MOM STOP EMBARRASSING ME." Carlos bellowed and from the echoing sound, he seemed to be upstairs. Silvia only chuckled and led Kendall into the house he was all too familiar with.

"Kendall." Came a deep voice to his right and he turned to meet Officer Garcia's eyes. He nodded obediently at him and smiled. Officer Garcia walked closer to Kendall and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't intimidated.

"Kendall you know I have love for you but if you do anything to harm my son in anyway tonight, or ever, I will see to it to make your life miserable." The older Garcia threatened, with a completely serious look on his face. Silvia was trying not to laugh but Kendall couldn't see the humor in the situation. Looking back at the officer, Kendall was greeted with a less intense look. "Now, that that's off my chest. You look great son." He smiled, patting Kendall's shoulder a bit hard causing the blonde's eyes to widen. It was this that had Silvia full on laughing now.

"Deja de amenazar a mi novio, PapĂ!" Carlos' voice rang out and Kendall turned around to see the most beautiful sight ever. His Love looked like an angel. Aside from the playful glare he was shooting at his dad, Carlos looked so radiant. Come to think of it, even his glare was gorgeous too.

"Wow." Was all Kendall could say and that caused all of the playful bickering from Carlos and his dad to stop. Carlos looked at him with such bashfulness that made Kendall want to hug him senseless. "Baby I need to take some pictures. My mom is going to want to see you look this beautiful." He turned to Carlos' parents again, a pure look of love shined on his face. "Your son is so gorgeous. I am truly honored to be able to take him to prom." The blonde said, all the while Carlos was turning more and more rosy as he felt the heat in his body intensify. This is what he loved about their relationship, it was so innocent and pure.

"You look amazing too, Kendall." Carlos simpered. His eyes twinkled as he looked at his tall boyfriend. They both met eyes and dazed at each other.

"Okay, okay enough you two. I need pictures!" Silvia shouted excitedly while Officer Garcia watched them take pictures, and instructed them on what kind of poses to do. It was well into 45 minutes later when there was a knock on the door. Officer Garcia went to answer it and it was Logan, he explained that the limo was outside with everyone in it.

"Great! Everyone's here. Do we have enough time for all of us to get a group picture together?" Asked Kendall, still slightly in the pose he was in from before the front door was open.

"Oh, I think we can!" Logan said happily. The three teens, along with Carlos' parents, made their way outside and Logan told everyone in the limo to come out so they could take a group photo. Everyone was so happy to oblige. This is one of the last memories they would have for high school and it made them all stand a little straighter with elation.

There was James and Lucy, Logan and Camille, Jade and Tori, Carlos and Kendall, then lastly Jett and Dak. They took a total of 20 pictures. Some were silly and others very "coupley" and cute.

"Alright now food! We have that reservation at Olive Garden that we need to get to." James joked, although his was half serious. With all the frantic rush to get ready for today, there wasn't much time to eat. There were many laughs at James before everyone compiled and got into the limo to eat then make their way to prom.

Everything was going splendidly. All through the night Kendall and Carlos kept thinking about how this could possibly be their lives. To go from loved, to hated, to being loved by the majority of the school again for Kendall was crazy. It showed him how quickly people can change and how strong he didn't know he was. The blonde wouldn't be where he was though if it wasn't for Carlos. If it wasn't for his boyfriend staring at him with those big brown eyes and telling him just how special he though Kendall was. This was the night that really set Kendall's mind and heart in sync, he knows he will love Carlos, his Love, forever.

Carlos had always felt the same too. He knows that Kendall is his forever and as long as they both know that, they will always be alright. Carlos smiled as he swayed with Kendall to the beat of the slow jam playing on the dance floor.

This is love.

"Who would've believed that you and me would fall and land together?" Carlos asked Kendall in a soft voice as they laid pressed together on Kendall's hammock outside in his backyard. They sky was a gentle indigo but there weren't stars decorating the sky just yet. It was still peaceful though, for them both to stare up at the sky together. Both soaking in the serenity of the moment.

The green eyed teen chuckled fondly as he pressed a kiss to Carlos' tan forehead. "What do you mean, love?" Kendall asked adoringly.

Smiling softly, Carlos answered, "Well, I guess what I mean is that who would have thought that after everything we would still be so happy and together. I've never felt happier in my life and it's all because of you... I had given up at one point during the chaos. I couldn't believe that love could possibly be mine to treasure. But you, with you, I've found the place I've belonged to forever."

The taller of the two felt his heart full with warmth and tingles as he listened to the other murmur. How could he or anyone have foreseen him feeling so much joy in his life; so much compassion? He felt truly gifted.

From the moment he met the little Latino, nothing was the same. If anything, Kendall felt himself reborn the day he met Carlos. However, it was sudden with the comforting soft breeze around them, accompanied with Carlos' words and them laying together that the truths he had once held changed.

"I have too, Los. The more I let my feelings for you take over, the more I feel myself be led to you. My heart belongs to you. And I love you more every day." Kendall mused as his arms tightened over Carlos. The teen looked up at him with such open brown eyes that it was truly intoxicating.

"I love you too. Continue to lead the way Kendall."
