"Do you really think they'll go through with our request as promised?" Shiore asked.
The sun was dying down as it set on the horizon. It made a very romantic display as the two vampires walked to Shikame's car. Nothing romantic, however, was happening between them. There was something much more serious occurring between them, these new monsters, and the two head vampire hunters who were stationed here. Shiore was worried that Toga and Kaien would reject their request, and, if that was the case, then they would have to search for Kaasu Nix themselves and present her to Kaname Kuran, lord of the Vampire Council. Kaasu was not an easy woman to sway and no mere vampire, not even a pureblood, could just kill her. No one knew what she was, but they knew she was powerful in her own right. Coupled with her strength was a knowledge of murder, the law, and authority. Asato Ichijo knew this about her. If Kaname thought he could just get rid of Kaasu, the Vampire Council would be angered and go against him. This wasn't good for business.
"That depends on Yagari-san," Shikame replied, not pleased with the vampire hunters' response to their request either. Toga wasn't necessarily someone who was easy to get along with, in his opinion, but he could see that he was worried about Kaasu. If she hadn't spoken to anyone since the wanted posters, then something was truly amiss. Kaasu had a specialty in knowing when something was wrong and countered it well. Something definitely wasn't right if she hadn't spoken to Toga. He kept in his possession the one thing that she trusted! Shikame then said, "He is the owner of the white gun. He has the closest bond with Kaasu-chan."
"I wasn't aware of you two being so close," Shiore said, looking into her partner's eyes with curiosity. Shikame never called Kaasu by her first name, least of all in the familiar, unless he too was a close acquaintance of the vampire huntess.
"I'm not as close to her as you are," Shikame snapped, realizing his own mistake. He, in fact, was close to Kaasu as well. There were only five vampires that Kaasu really spoke to in the famililar: himself, Shiore, Asato, Byoki, and Takuma. He only called her by the first name when they were alone. How the hell did he let that slip? He turned to Shiore and smirked, knowing one special thing about his partner that no one else knew, before saying, "Weren't you interested in becoming her lover?"
Shiore froze in place, letting Shikame walk ahead several steps away before he turned to her, and let a soft smile and blush creep along her face. Once upon a time, Shiore Utsukushi was attracted to a vampire hunter and that person wasn't even a man. The detective placed her hands in her pockets and led the way after a moment of complete silence. She said behind her back, "Careful, Shikame-kun. You sound jealous."
"Perhaps," Shikame said, smiling softly also. Just because he was a tough man didn't mean he didn't smile.
"Rome-sama!" a young boy called.
"Kiroi-sama!" a young girl yelped with a sigh.
"Oh, your daughter is quite popular with the humans, isn't she?" Shiore inquired with a banter in her voice.
Shikame turned his attention to the voices in the distance and saw his beloved daughter leading the Night Class students to the school. He also saw Zero Kiryuu keeping everyone behind a line. He had to hand it to the boy. He knew how to keep everything in order. When he saw a boy shake his daughter's hand, however, Shikame grew tense with anger. He did not approve of any physical contact between his daughter and some lusty boy.
"I keep forgetting to tell her to wear that repellant perfume I bought," Shikame hissed, "but she is a beautiful girl. I can't argue."
"What if she starts bringing boyfriends home?" Shiore asked, teasingly.
"I almost killed the last one, so I don't know what she'll do next," Shikame responded, shocking Shiore to the point where her face turned blue. "Apparently, I'm allergic to boys."
Shiore laughed nervously, feeling sorry for Romanchikku, but immediately turned around when she felt the presence of a former associate of Lord Kaname. Seiren was calmly walking next to Sayori as they approached the academy. Sayori never really liked the Night Class students when she was in school, but Seiren proved to be a gentle sort of soul. By them being the newest teachers, they sort of bonded over that and they respect each other as individual women. Though they didn't speak much, they always seemed to be around one another subconsciously without fully knowing why. It's one of the beauties of life they supposed. Sayori was happily chatting to Seiren about her nosy neighbor down the street, reminding Seiren of her aunt's friend who disliked Kaname Kuran and his attitude toward his own kind. This led to their continuing conversation now. Shiore was surprised that Seiren was even speaking to anyone other than Kaname. As far as she knew, the young girl didn't talk much even when she was little. Her attention was averted for a moment when someone ran passed her with abnormal speed.
"Daddy?" she heard a girl ask. When Shiore turned around to see who flew by, she melted at the sight of Shikame gently embracing his daughter and smiling. Romanchikku had small tears coming from her eyes. Her father never came to visit her at the academy before since he was always working at night while she was in school and sometimes worked later in the day while she was asleep. Shikame, if nothing else, was Romanchikku's weakness. "Daddy! Daddy, what are you doing here?"
"I had to speak with the head master for a moment," Shikame said in a soft voice as though Romanchikku were only four or five years old. "I wanted to make sure my beautiful girl was alright. You don't tell me much about school anymore. I felt left out. Perhaps I'm just too old to look after you now. You've grown up so much."
"No, I would never leave you out," Romanchikku shouted, covering her father's mouth, with tears the size of balloons forming at the corners of her eyes. "I'll come home tonight and tell you and mommy all about school, I promise! Don't be so sad, papa."
"Will you join us for a tea party then?" Shikame asked, glitter forming about his face with hope. Shiore had never seen Shikame so full of life before unless it was his wife and that was a different kind of life she had witnessed that night. She almost wanted to go and get popcorn and take pictures of each moment that shocked her about her partner. She just watched him talk instead, though. "Your little sister is going to have her first one."
"Hai! I'll be there!" Romanchikku promised, smiling brightly. "I'll even wear my swan dress you bought me and the boy repellant."
She knew about the repellant!? Shiore thought, turning blue at the thought.
Toga was worried now that the meeting finally ended with Shiore and Shikame and he needed to teach Ethics class again. Who would have thought that his little nerdy, romantic librarian was the first human to be inducted into the Vampire Senate? Certainly not him! What else had she been keeping from him? Toga stopped walking for a moment at the question and thought about what Shiore had told him. So long as he possessed the white gun, Kaasu would come back to find him.
This white gun... Toga thought, reaching for it to feel its smooth surface. It's not just some expensive-looking weapon. It has the power to end all life...like a plague that blankets the sun with a hand of pure darkness... Human life, the life of a vampire, the life of these beasts... Your life... Kaasu, where did you get this thing from?
Christmas season around seventeen years ago...
Kaasu was about as pissed as a girl could get. She ran to the forest passed Ao Lake in a demonic rage as smoke followed her footsteps. What was the point of celebrating when there were soldiers out on the battlefields who couldn't see their families? The superiors were all fools! If anything, they should be able to bring all the soldiers back home if they were going to be celebrating. Kaasu stopped running as she thought of all the people who had families and were working hard to stay alive for them. Enjoy the holidays while people die? How can she? Kaasu bit her lip then took out her communicator. The superiors hadn't taken her license of authority yet, so she was going to take a risk and use it.
Her December couldn't have been any colder as she walked through the trees. She could hear lumber mills in the distance and followed those noises. All of the generals she called were blowing fumes when she barked orders to send the troops home. It was probably going to be the biggest movement that would abuse her right to dish out commands, but Kaasu couldn't possibly allow a celebration to continue without everyone being able to see it. She may not know anything about what holiday was so important on a wintry December in Aisu, but she knew if everyone couldn't enjoy it then no one could. Officials were either going to hate her or like her a little more. She could live with the former the most probably. They already isolate her from certain things.
Toga and Minoru were in the middle of a mission when their leader rushed them to finish. Bastard almost got them killed, but they were lucky. They ran out of ammunition somewhere after killing a group of Level E vampires that decided to knock their heads off. Toga spotted a gold pocket watch that one of the vampires had before it disappeared into putrid mist. He knelt down to hear it tick slowly and then stop in an eerie silence. Something about the ticking echoing in the quiet forest just made his breathing hitch and freeze as though it were coming out of his lungs like a stream then suddenly freezing. He shivered slightly when the wind blew to laugh at him. It was possible to his imagination.
"Hey, Togs!" Minoru shouted.
Toga turned around then said, "What is it?"
"Your librarian just passed us up, dude," the boy said, pointing in the general direction. Toga walked over to Minoru's side then looked out in the distance. He gasped silently when he spotted his little friend, Kaasu, marking a pine tree with orange paint. Minoru got an idea of how to hook his friends up for a holiday date, and said, "Let's go say hi."
"She's busy just like we are," Toga replied, turning the other way. "We have a mission to finish."
"Dude, General Akeba called us in early for a meeting in an hour," Minoru reminded, making Toga twitch. "Don't tell me you're scared of Nixy-chan now."
"I'm still shocked that she let you call her that."
"Well, Nixy-chan's nice when you get to know her. Plus, I bet she needs help land surveying over there. We can at least try to be gentlemen for a change."
Toga thought it over for a moment, remembering how helpless Kaasu looked, and sighed resignedly. He led the way, inspiring Minoru to leave the two alone so they could kiss or something romantic like that. He knew Toga was into the romantic type, and Kaasu seemed to be just that. He started whistling the "Jingle Bells" tune as he walked behind Toga then silenced himself as they got closer to the busy teen.
They watched her place her hand on a tree, rest her forehead on the bark, and inhale the fresh pine scent and crisp snow-covered pinecones fragrance in the air. She backed away from the tree with her eyes closed until they snapped open and she punched the tree harshly to hear the insides cracking and tearing! Soon, the tree tumbled to the white snow below and was marked with a capital A! Both young men were gasping and pointing at the tree then Kaasu, wondering where she obtained such Herculean strength. Kaasu somehow wasn't paying attention to them and wandered to another tree. This process was repeated several times before the two men heard a group of lumberjacks shouting at each other and following the path of fallen trees and pine needles. A team of the men lifted the pine trees from the trunk and boarded the flora onto truck beds to be shipped off to the mills. Kaasu was several miles ahead of everyone just marking trees and grumbling incoherent phrases to herself.
"So what are you doing out in the forest, Nixy-chan?" Minoru asked, smirking at Kaasu while Toga just lumbered behind him like a bear.
Kaasu flinched at this and growled, "I was undercover as a helper for the lumberjacks so I could locate the hiding spot for the Level E vampires that nestled in the forest. Hopefully, everything goes well for my report."
"Still doing reports, huh? Well, if you keep it up, the superiors might give you all Christmas month off," Minoru suggested as a way of perking her up.
"Christmas?" Kaasu asked, furrowing her eyebrows cutely with curiosity. Of course, this did nothing to stop Toga from noticing and obtain a little blush to his cheeks. "What's Christmas?" Kaasu asked, raising an eyebrow.
"You don't know...what Christmas is?" Toga asked, realizing Kaasu was being serious. "You've never celebrated the holidays with anyone before?"
"I'm not terribly religious like you all are. If this Christmas has anything to do with the Roman Catholics, I'm pretty much lost in the dark."
"Christmas isn't completely about religion," Toga explained, watching Kaasu's interest grow. "It's about sharing memories with the people you love and showing them what they mean to you. You honestly don't know what Christmas is, do you?"
"Would I ask you if I did?" Kaasu remarked, huffing obnoxiously. "I guess I'll figure it all out. I've got all month to prepare for the occasion."
"Hey, why not spend the holiday with us?" Minoru offered, feeling the flames coming out of Toga's back melting the snow on his coat. "We probably have to patrol the front gates to the city anyways."
"No, that's not why you're being mobilized into the city," Kaasu said, sighing. "I ordered the troops home for this holiday thing. Superior Takeda wanted to celebrate the holidays like you all seem to, but with the troops fighting at the coasts there won't be much to celebrate. Our men have families of their own. It's not fair for us to celebrate while they're out risking their lives. I still have my license of authority at hand, so I ordered the troops to come home. Whether my decision was the right one, I don't know, but I refuse to allow the superiors to eat cake while the rest of us eat death or dirt. Your general is sending you home as well. I know both of you have people you care about and want to share these moments with while you're still alive and well. Go to them."
"What about you?" Toga asked, frowning deeply at Kaasu's order. It's not that he didn't appreciate Kaasu's concern for the city's unity, but...this unique and beautiful girl didn't even know what Christmas was about, yet she risked punishment and possible demotion for years to come in her career for this movement. She truly was a kind leader, and it made Toga jealous of her. She always knew or did something that could piss him off and sometimes, though he'd never admit it, commit several sinful deeds against a minor. He pushed passed any sexual thoughts involving his kouhai and said, "Your family misses you, too."
Both men watched the girl as she froze at Toga's words before closing her eyes and saying, "I'm sorry. I've been an orphan for as long as I can remember."
Toga and Minoru gasped collectively at this. The most kind-hearted, considerate woman in the Hunters' Association was an orphan and for more than just a few years? Life was such a cruel thing! It wasn't uncommon for vampire hunters not to be orphans; in fact, Toga and Minoru were orphaned at a younger age until they were adopted by other people. They just thought Kaasu was different because she was more level-headed and intelligent and seemed to be a family-oriented person with the way she shared her kindness to other people. The boys watched Kaasu excuse herself then walk away from them to continue helping the lumberjacks with pine trees. When they looked into each other's eyes, they silently vowed to make Kaasu happy for the holidays.
About a week passed after Toga and Minoru met with General Akeba, and they were cleaning their dorm room for the holidays. Minoru was the only one who cared to put up a tree and wrap up a couple of presents. One gift was wrapped and labeled for Kaasu. This was the one he had been staring at for a complete hour while he folded clothes and pretended to be watching TV. He wondered what sort of gift Minoru was giving to Kaasu. It looked pretty big. He then wondered about Kaasu. Was this really going to be her first Christmas?
"You're deep in thought."
"Huh?" Toga gestured, looking at Minoru.
"What, is it your first Christmas, too?" Minoru joked, smiling deviously at Toga.
"Cut the bullshit!" Toga argued, blushing a little. He began folding his clothes rapidly and decided to ask, "What do you want?"
"I'm goin' out for a drink with a couple people. Think you can finish decorating? Cheap stuff's in the - " Minoru paused after hearing a knock on the door. First, it was just simple taps then it turned to bangs and then something heavy was thrown at the door. "Who the wintry hell...?"
"Don't answer it..." Toga suggested, knowing who was at the door. Only Kaasu would try to break the door down. She clearly was being chased by the curfew cops again or the security guards. It's bad enough she's cute. Does she have to be a hot criminal to boot? It's tough work getting rid of a boner!
"Senpai, open the fucking door! I see your lights on!"
"I swear to God, Minoru, if you open that door, I will lose all respect for you and shoot you," Toga threatened, making Minoru flinch and turn as if caught stealing cookies. Why is Toga being so cruel to little Kaasu? It's snowing outside! She'll freeze!
"Senpai! Please! It's really cold..." Her voice did sound sad. Minoru looked at Toga and saw he was still folding as if he didn't hear Kaasu's pleas. Dude was made out of stone! Of course, in Toga's mind, he wanted nothing more than to bring Kaasu inside and warm her up with something other than cocoa, but he resumed his folding until he was complete and walked to the door to stand in front of it. Kaasu spoke as she tapped on the door again, "I'll be gone all week, senpai... Please..."
At that, Toga opened the door and saw Kaasu innocently standing in front of his door with two large boxes at her feet. She was probably the most adorable thing he had seen in a while. She wore green velvet-textured tall boots and a green corset with a silvery trench coat and earmuffs. Her gloves were both green and silvery and her pants were black leather. She also wore a black, silver, and green scarf that she wore like a hood. For the first time ever, she was wearing silver and green jewelry. Her hair was its usual messy, curly ensemble but it looked wet and was crinkly. Basically, she was a sexy green elf as far as his boner was concerned. Unfortunately, when Kaasu looked down, she saw the offensive appendage saying hello to everyone.
"Ah, my eyes! Mind pointing that somewhere else!" Kaasu snapped, blushing wildly and turning away to look elsewhere.
"Mind telling me what you want, ya little demon!" Toga snapped back, not caring who was looking anymore. She could have at least pretended that she was attracted to it. No, that probably wouldn't have been a good idea. Her seductive vixen voice belonged to him alone. Oh well, at least the boner's down for the count.
"Funny you should ask," Kaasu responded, turning around with a cutesy smile. "I'm delivering boxes to each dormitory and helping the lumberjacks set up your Christmas tree. I need at least one volunteer per dorm to help decorate the tree since that's what you're supposed to do with it. Also, I was told to sing a Christmas carol so I could earn a quarter for something special, but I don't know any and I don't want any quarters so I get to ignore the order from Superior Delacroix."
"Is that why you're dolled up?" Toga asked, watching Minoru take one of the boxes from Kaasu. Apparently, one of the gods was on his side today because Kaasu's boobs were aching to slip out of her corset, but she had to wear a damn shirt underneath it!
"I'll volunteer to decorate the tree. While I'm gone, Toga can teach you some Christmas carols," Minoru offered, feeling volcanoes erupt on his back as Toga glared viciously at him. Kaasu ran into his arms to hide from Toga's unspoken rage and pulled Minoru away from the other teen. "He might not be a great singer but singing carols to other people will make them happy. With this fight to keep Level E's away from the city and coasts, we'll need all the cheering up we can get. Besides, we couldn't have you looking this good for nothing. You know, you look a little taller than when I saw you last."
"Eh?" Kaasu chirped, tapping her hand on her head. "Oh, that's right! I've been gone the whole month. I had a growth spurt a while ago. I've grown about four inches. I'm 5'6" now."
Her legs do look longer... Toga thought, slipping into his realm of fantasy. No! Close the door before snow gets in and go get dressed, pervert!
Outside, Toga and Minoru were surprised to see so many of the younger vampire hunters decorating their dormitory tree. It was a massive, beautiful green pine with cones still on it! Every branch and twig was full of fresh needles. Kaasu ran off to the side, almost in a quiet sprint had it not been for her noisy heels, and caught Toga's attention when a horse whinnied. It was a big horse with beautiful long hair around its feet and flowing from its tail and head. Kaasu cuddled the horse and teased it when she revealed a large, fresh carrot from her coat and took a small bite from it. The horse whimpered then took the carrot and ate it calmly. When the horse was finished, Toga blew in Kaasu's ear, making her jump and scream.
"Senpai, you bastard!" Kaasu yelped, digging in her ear to get the sensation out of it.
"Whose horse is this for?" Toga asked, ignoring her shouting and admiring the dark-browned beauty. "It's gorgeous..."
"Her name is Gitan. She's mine. We've been together for four years now. I've had her since she was just a colt," Kaasu replied, cuddling the horse's face.
"You're just a natural Mrs. Claus, aren't you?" Toga harrumphed.
"I am Ms. Nix for your information. I don't even know a Claus," Kaasu said, pulling Toga's cheek outward with a pinch.
"Meh, you're right. You're cuter..." Toga said, making Kaasu let go of his face and blush bright red. She looked away, puffed her cheeks up a bit, and then stomped away from him to lead the horse out of the dormitories. He followed the girls (horse included) to the front gates until he remembered Kaasu had to sing a Christmas carol. He said, "Oi, kouhai. Have you ever heard of the Twelve Days of Christmas?"
"If I've never heard of Christmas before, what makes you think I've heard of the other days?" Kaasu debated, pulling Toga's nose.
Toga yanked Kaasu's hand away and pulled her body closer to his. When she gasped and blushed visibly, he whispered in a raw, lusty, and deep voice, "Good, you'll learn the words right now. Now, the song goes like this...
On the first day of Christmas my true love gave to me
A partridge in the pear tree."
"What the fuck is a partridge?" Kaasu asked, pushing Toga away from her.
"A little bird stuck in the tree. Now, pay attention!"
"No offense, senpai, but if the song is that slow we're gonna get shot," Kaasu said, walking away from him to take out three presents from a bag. She knocked on the door, looked at Toga with a nervous look on her face, and then looked down at her presents for the family she was visiting. When the door opened, a little girl came out and looked at Kaasu's gentle face and smile. "Hi, are you Aoi-chan?" When the little girl nodded, her mother and father came to the door to see Kaasu with colorful boxes in her arms.
"I'm sorry we don't have anything to donate if that's what you're asking for," the mother said calmly.
"No, these are gifts for you. No donations or frustrations included," Kaasu responded, handing the mother a blue box. She was just about to open when Kaasu yelped, "No! You're not supposed to open it yet! You have to wait until Christmas day or it loses its special powers! Uh..." when everyone stared at her, she started blushing uncontrollably and shouted, "Th-that's what the superiors told me to say!"
"Does that mean you're Santa's elf?" little Aoi asked. "I have a letter for Santa."
"Well, senpai, knows a lot of things. Maybe he can take it to Santa's office," Kaasu suggested, looking at Toga with a hopeful face.
Toga walked over to Kaasu, lifted her chin, and said sweetly, "I'm just an elf, Ms. Kaasu Nix Claus. You are Santa's beautiful daughter. You should be able to look at it and give Santa a heads up."
"You're Santa's daughter?" Aoi gasped, blushing and eyes widening brightly. "Will Santa be mad if you look at the list too early?"
"He never said, but Kaasu Claus can sometimes grant wishes that Santa just can't handle. What's something very special you want this year that isn't on this list but is in your heart?" Toga said, kneeling in front of the girl.
"I want my daddy to stay home until my birthday, so he can see me blow out my candles and take pictures with mommy..."
"Your wish will be granted come Christmas morning, Aoi," Kaasu said, hugging the little girl. "I promise. Oh, I forgot your special song that this big elf taught me."
"A song?" Aoi said.
From Kaasu's lips came a voice that melted the winter chill as the wind blew. It rung like a soft bell in everyone's ears and made Toga see a different side to his kouhai. For just this once, he saw Kaasu as this beautiful songstress.
On the first day of Christmas a helper gave to me
A small light of hope for all to see
On the second day of Christmas a helper gave to me
Two arms filled with love
And a small light of hope for all to see
On the third day of Christmas a helper gave to me
Three special words
Two arms filled with love
And a small light of hope for all to see
To you
Twelve days might seem like too many
To me twelve days is just plenty
So long as I have love in my heart
My world is full of peace
My wish this year
Is to just be with my
"Daddy!" Aoi finished, smiling and embracing Kaasu lovingly.
When Toga and Kaasu left to listen to more wishes and sing more songs to other families, Kaasu let him ride on her wagon and steered Gitan back to the dormitories where the tree was still being decorated even after the sun had set and the moon was creeping behind snow-filled clouds. Toga looked at Kaasu as she pulled off her gloves and rubbed her hands together. He licked his lips, wanting to kiss his kouhai's lips and hear her sing one last time, but was startled out of his lust-filled thoughts when Superior Delacroix suddenly appeared from out of nowhere and shouted...
"JOY TO THE WORLD! So, my little elf, did you sing as I told you?"
"Yes, I did," Kaasu answered, sighing.
"Good! I have splendid news for you. Your singing inspired many families to donate at least one quarter to a foundation being written under your name. If you continue to do this as your contract states, you will receive a wonderful surprise for your first Christmas. Now, I have to leave you at the moment because my wife says she has a surprise for me at home and I'm dying to know what it is. Oh, Toga-kun, I told your troublesome roommate to install a branch of mistletoe on your doorframe and he found his girlfriend before he did it. Would you mind taking care of that?" Delacroix said, tormenting poor Toga as he walked away greeting other kids.
He had a feeling Delacroix would pull something like this. Of all the traditions of Christmas that had to come up, this one had to smack him in the face right as he was thinking about - !
Wait! Kaasu doesn't know anything about Christmas. She doesn't know what mistletoe or what you do with it. Maybe... Toga thought, licking his lips. But Kaasu wouldn't want to kiss me, would she? She's always so shy about stuff. But... I mean... I want to actually kiss her because I like her not because of a holiday that can get perverted like that bastard Delacroix could make it. Should I...even tell her about it?
"Hey, senpai," Kaasu called, poking Toga's cheek. When he looked at her, she pulled her hand back rapidly and said, "Oh, you're awake. Thank you for helping me and teaching me carols. I'm glad my singing wasn't too awful and made people happy. We're in front of your dorm now. You can at least get out of this cold and get some sleep."
Toga looked at his door, seeing that he really was home, and took notice to a blue tie wrapped around the door handle. That could only mean one thing: Minoru was banging his girlfriend right now. He tried to find a distraction to stay out of the dorm and took notice to a blue bag that he knew for sure Kaasu hadn't even bothered to look in. He hopped onto the back of the wagon and pried the bag open swiftly. In it, he saw a box wrapped in snowflake wrapping paper and tied with a bow that had his name on it. He pulled the box out and heard Kaasu scream.
"Toga, don't open the box!"
"Who is this from?" he asked, trying to lift it but noticed it was heavier than it let on. That's just not fair.
"You can't open that, senpai!"
When Toga looked at Kaasu, she silenced her yelps and screaming and was frozen in place. Toga gave her the most beautiful smile he probably unconsciously produced. He asked again, "Who is this from?"
Kaasu blushed a bright red and then mumbled, "M-m-m-me... I can't give it to you yet, but I hoped... to give it to you on Christmas morning."
Kaasu... Toga thought. Do you remember that time when you sang those Christmas carols? That was the day I wanted you by my side always... That was when I had all the time in the world to get to know that beautiful girl who loved children and making other people happy. There were people who hated you and were cruel to you, but you always touched someone's heart. You even touched mine. You're a great warrior, Kaasu. That's what made me jealous of you. You always bounced back no matter how mean the world was. You smiled in the face of danger. You...were never really afraid of anything except hurting me. Please... if you're still that warrior I knew you were, please come back to me. I'll never abandon you. You've... you've done too much for this world to leave now... Come back to me... Come back for the gun you gave to me that Christmas morning...
